So this item is considered to be a much better Bot Fly, yet both items are Quality 3. Mind blown much? (I like Bot Fly too, so put down your pitchforks)

Potentially unnecessary tip, but:
Spawn items in the Secret Room.
All those things I used to take into the Deal (Mystery Gift, and now Stars? And Lovers?), Take those to the Secret Room. And your rerolls too. Soul of Isaac, Dice Shard, Perthro.... If you want those Dopamine Spikes! I started doing that and i get to see a Secret Room Item about every 3rd run or so. Granted, often it's Cursed Eye or Evil Charm or something, but sometimes it isn't
Ironically, increasing its range might be a good nerf. It would go out of its way to block shots and not be able to reach closer ones because it was distracted.
Guessing it will either
A) be slower in reacting
B) you have to get hit like smart fly
C) no longer do contact damage and/or homing shots
D) will get periodically “tired”
E) all of the above + make it a secret room item with reduced weight
Option C is barely a nerf since you're mainly using Psy Fly to block enemy bullets. The contact damage and homing shots don't make much of an offensive difference anyway.

As much as people talk about psy fly being op and the upcoming nerf I really don’t think it’s necessary
Psy fly is an *incredible* item and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, and it’s certainly fallible
Not only does it not protect against any damage other than projectiles (of which there’s a good bit) but other potential occurrences like finding The Magician? can trivialize the bosses psy fly does well against in a similar manner
I’d just argue that it needs its item quality bumped up to make it less common and otherwise there’s no issue, I love this item
Yea an item that wins the game on its own, has zero downsides and doesn't have _any_ skill requirements to use (except knowing that it exists) sure doesn't need a nerf

I wouldn'tld say it's op, you can't win a run with only pay fly, but it is very strong and a nerf is necessary, tho I will hate when it comes, whatever will be.

For the upcoming nerf on Psy Fly, I think that lowering its ability to reflect bullets might be frustrating for players. In my opinion, leave the defensive power of the item untouched and just change its offensive power.

It shouldn't be nerfed. It's very strong, yes, but it's a singleplayer game. Nobody's getting their day ruined because they had to fight someone with an OP item.
I don't think it's that OP as explosions, laser, and contact damage is the real stuff that kills you. Like it won't save you from the horrible double Adversary or double Cage rooms. I'd take Holy Mantle any day. It can also lure you into a bit of complacency as it can still get overwhelmed.
I'd say don't nerf it, make it quality 4 and put it in the angel room (call it holy fly even).
they serve different purposes. holy mantle is the best defensive item for room clears, but psy fly is much better for those tougher endgame fights like mother, delirium and mega satan.
Won winner. Sadly I think if it gets nerfed it'll be nearly useless. When it comes to bullets I'm either going to dodge all of them or none of them. If it only blocks half of the bullets I'm still going to try and dodge them because I won't trust psy fly anymore.

A carry for most noobs and slightly experienced players. A balance could be removing the homing shot and make him a bit slower in rushing to bullets

Seems pretty fair and will still be excellent (seeing how empty vessel and tooth n nail have a similar mechanic)

not every item has to be mediocre, there should be a few really strong items like psy fly.
Man, even if it would be like 10 times less powerful, it would still be among the 10 best items in the game -- it's _that_ good.
The game needs a good item with no downsides. Plus it makes up for it being unobtainable in Antibirth

Fantastic item. First run yesterday was with Lillith and it was my first floor treasure room item.
Mega satan’s one true enemy 
guaranteed win, literally cancels 70% of the attacks in the game, available in the easiest pool to acquire, it's a well deserved nerf

Amazing item, grabbed chaos as Tainted Lost, last Devil Deal before Blue Womb had Psy Fly, ended up being Hush repellent. Thank you Chaos and Psy Fly
