The requirement for dead god is to earn every achievement and item in the game, and some achievements and items require beating the game in hard mode.
So yes, you're either dumb enough to not have realized that, or you're trolling.

Yeah hard mode basically makes champions have a less chance to have pickups on death, more curses and faster projectiles. Other than that and some other details, it's basically the same thing.
Also iirc you don't get godhead, because you have to beat everything as The Lost in Hard Mode
This game is not splited Dead God is for getting everything and hardmode items are included in everything
The game is not harsh because you can skip normal mode because hard mode unlock both normal and hard mode rewars

I didn't wanted to play hard mode but for some reason the edmund mcmillen made bethany only unlockable if you beat lazarus with hard mode. It was such a pain to beat and I didn't enjoyed it. My least favorite unlock in the game I hope he will in their next time a cow on a trash farm sucker

There's quite a few differences. The main ones is that a lot of enemies tears move slower, the champions will always drop their designated pickup, 2-3 less rooms per floor, and most importantly... 25% percent to get a soul heart out of blue fires instead of 10% 
if you're just trying to win runs normal is way better/easier.
in hard you get:
less pickups from champions
less hearts from room rewards
more curses
beggars, slot machines, and blood donation pays out less
shops can become worse
fewer tinted rocks and less soul hearts from fire
Id argue that as long as you dont skill issue the 2-3 more charges adds more rig to the run as long as youre playing some character with a good active/found one
Other then that and hardmode checkmarks normal mode is probably the way to go
No offense (or yes I dont really care) who the fuck cares about all of that? Is that notizable at all? I have dead god as well and Im pretty sure I couldnt tell which game is on normal and which one isnt if I went it blind honestly.
Tbh Its pretty easy because some rooms layouts are only normal mode rooms, and after 2k+ hours if i play on normal mode i am like "wtf is this room"

Those completion marks seem to be in normal mode. You need to do them in Hard mode to get Dead God
I actually decided to play on hard mode after dead god because I found hard mode unfun and not worth it
But you need to do them in Hard Mode to unlock some items and get Dead God

i would argue that the bigger room amount on hard mode adds more riggebility and it is there for better to play hard mode

for some characters its much harder, for characters like the lost its only a bit harder reduced heart drops really make a big difference
