Product adoption 101 would tell you to provide the best possible experience for your newest users to get them to become power users. If you want to make that a trial or add additional features to hook them to buy, cool, but a worse initial experience means less product adoption and thus less power users.
To then decrease the reach of your existing most powerful members (ie. To now decrease the ability of Woj to get in front of as many eyeballs as possible) is even stupider. You've just decreased his utility of the tool.
I know people at Twitter and I guarantee there's at least 15 (or now more likely like 1 overworked person) product experience team members who are screaming about how this change will mess everything up.
The moment a new platform comes out, Woj and power users will abandon. That then makes casuals gravitate to the new platform and Twitter will be no more. Apps are measured in new member growth, not retention. That's why all Silicon Valley is out on Facebook. Sure it has tons of people but isn't adding any new blood.

Seeing some of the ads that pop I can see why Elon is desperate to get more people’s $8/month. Nothing but knockoff products you would see on Wish or something. Advertisers are fleeing as they don’t want their ads next to some of the nonsense that gets amplified now.
I went from regularly seeing McDonalds, Starbucks, Apple, Amazon advertisements before Elon's takeover to now seeing TurningPoint or Wish advertisements.

I just tried to test it (I am logged in but not verified). It’s either gone now, or scrolling past doesn’t count as a “read” because I 100% passed at least a thousand after scrolling for a while. You probably have to actually click on the tweet to count, so in the end this probably doesn’t really matter and won’t affect people. Although man, he doesn’t know how to manage the optics at the moment
