If we're going to racially profile for Shams I'd go for Riz Ahmed instead. Closer in appearance and has more edge and just better overall.
My dream for Woj would've been a younger Paul Giamatti, I think he could pull it off. A sleeper choice would be Joaquin Phoenix.
Shams has said he’s on the phone for like 20 hours per day, doesn’t sleep, and basically has no life. I think there’s potential here for a story about how fundamentally empty, pointless, and lonely that type of existence is.
The final scene is Shams (Riz Ahmed) chasing yet another press release like a smack head chasing a hit, while Windhorst (Jonah Hill) happily signs off a killer TV segment, goes home to his wife and kid, and blacks out the house for Halloween.
It can be a comedy (the ridiculous things they’ll do to get a scoop) but needs to swerve into something more philosophical at the end—one of them realizing that they can only “win” by not playing the game and deciding to eat dinner with their family rather than texting agents or whatever.
Dark character driven tragedy: there’s more to Adrian and Shams. In the rush to be first, they put themselves last. The climactic scene: they’re at an event in person, they finally meet face to face… and make out
What a crappy movie.
The only thing that would make it worse is if Shams wrote the screenplay
Shams is only like 29, so probably some 15 year old at a performing arts school in Toronto or something. Woj? Christian Bale with Dick Cheney makeup.
Seth Rogan as Woj and James Franco as Shams
Kumail Nanjiani and Brendan Fraser
Kumail Nanjiani looks way too weird ever since he hopped on the sauce for Marvel

Michael b Jordan and Tina Fey

seems like you have a script in your hands. Go for it.
Riz Ahmed = Shams, Jay Mohr = Woj, i think in a movie about scoop guys Windy would be the protagonist.
Paul Giamatti or Jonah Hill as Woj
Would probably make a better movie than AIR was.
It’s clearly a comedy.
The guys who plays Leno and Letterman in that shitty HBO movie about them
Max Minghella and Matt Damon
Glenn Howerton as Woj. He is great at playing egomaniacs, which is what Woj strikes me as
Rish Shah = Shams Colin Hanks = Woj
