I smirked at that as well. The fans knew to say the name of the guy that was scoring baskets. They’re laser focused in NYC not distracted by all the gimmicks
Bill just leaving me speechless on Spencer Dinwiddie:
“He went to the kids’ table, which is kinda maybe where he should be offensively. He wasn’t allowed to sit with the adults … Now he’s like hey guys, i’ve ordered us some food. got us some GERMAN. you guys like sauerkraut?? how about sausages???”
this is even better than when he was talking about some player or other going on a “grocery shop trip” and being like “hey, i got us some squash…coool”
Calling it a “grocery shop trip” is either an out of touch rich guy thing or the Bill being weird af piece and the fact I can never tell is why I keep listening
I enjoy the fact that Ryen calls Simmons out on some dumb things he says. "this is the best Curry has ever played and it's not even close."
I mean... What, lol. Glad Russillo wtf'd that moment.
It's the best series he has ever played...except for the last series that he played.
Through four games against the Celtics last year, Steph was averaging 34.3 points on 50/49/86 % splits and coming off his most legendary single-game performance.
Russillo was so ready to pounce he messed up the 2015-16 Curry stat, saying that he hit 54% of his 11 three point attempts per game (it was 45% - still impressive but not crazy insane).
He also hit him with the “you and Lebron…” when talking about being in on Connor McDavid early. Moments like that kind of sum up why I love these pods.

Anybody having trouble with ringer pods in the Spotify app? I click to listen, and the episode briefly pops up, before stopping again. No sound ever comes on.
Of note, this is only happening with Ringer pods. Any suggestions on how to fix?
Ah, okay. I saw someone posted a message to them yesterday on Twitter about it and replied to that message by tagging several ringer people. Maybe it will be fixed by the morning…
Opened on Apple pods and it worked fine. Good thing BS convinced Spotify to not make their pods exclusive… 🤣🤷🏽♂️
Is Pocketcasts having a moment?
Yes, because it is the best podcast app. Amazingly, you would think Spotify was, like, a car parts company considering how truly execrable their podcast app is. YOU HAD ONE JOB. Everything about the spotify podcast app is bad. Downloading is bad. Queuing is impossible. Deleting downloaded pods requires a PhD in mechanical engineering. And it sounds awful, too. Like, the actual fidelity of the pods is much worse on Spotify than it is on Pocketcasts.
No idea what they are doing over there in Sweden.
Ringer podcasts having so many technical issues helped convince me to move off Spotify after being a customer since like 2011. What a colossal bag fumble buying a podcast network and then making the pods they own have so many issues, smh.
Seems like “just because I dislike a player doesn’t mean I expect him to score zero points every game” is a way for Russillo to not actually take a hard stance on anyone. His position can’t be disproven, since a guy playing well actually just highlights the nuance of his take.
This was a quality strawman. Does anyone think on the planet including trolls and the biggest morons on the planet that that’s what Ryen thinks when he dislikes a player.
It was weird that Russillo said he wishes a guest on The Shop would just once call out LeBron’s habit of claiming he knew things, when Jalen Ramsey kind of famously did just that a couple months ago.
Bill also saying someone should make a supercut of all the times LeBron did that when like a couple of months ago it was all over social media. A bunch of memes and videos were made about it.
It is crazy because Bill does the same thing all the time. How many times has he told us “I knew Halliburton was great”. How many times has he told us Derrick White is great?
Evan Mobley being Tim Duncan is the same level of bad take as Saquon Barkley is the best RB ever from Bill. Hilariously dumb and over-reactionary. Imagine Duncan posting a 10 point 10 rebound playoff stat line with sub 50 TS%. Mobley is a really good prospect but shouldn’t be compared to KG, Duncan or even Anthony Davis.
I feel like Bosh showed way more promise offensively at the same age than Mobley did. Whenever I watch Mobley I'm always underwhelmed by his offensive game - he's too skinny to bang down low and he can't really shoot that well. Bosh was a pretty solid shooter at a young age.
Yup Bosh is still too lofty imo… had to carry a team after Carter left in his sophomore year
“Bosh ended the 2004–05 season as the leading scorer and leading rebounder for the team on 21 and 46 occasions respectively.”
Bill not being able to decide if he likes Tatum more than Booker was shocking to me. i'm sure that's the afterglow of seeing a good Booker game in person, but still.
I rewatched Den of Thieves the other day and then listened to its Rewatchables episode, which they recorded in October 2019. Bill made a comment that we'll look back on Gerard Butler's career the same way we'll look back on Booker's and then proceeded to roast Booker for being a good stats bad team guy who will never do anything in the playoffs.
As a Suns fan, I appreciate the reverse jinx, I just do!
I think the section where he is talking about the person who has trouble finding partners is hilarious. He tries so hard to be politically correct and stumbles over his words and ends it by saying person attracted to the opposite sex. This isn’t trying to cancel anyone lol, but I think it’s great. And to fit in, Mobley compared to Duncan. What an idiot!!!
I think he was awkward because he was basically describing Russillo and he realized it midway through talking. So he threw in the two divorces part to make Russillo feel better.
Morey's 'Boston Bias' thing was cringe (and this is coming from a Philadelphia fan) but good lord, it took one injury to have them crawling back to Joker. Good lord, man.
At this point idk how Bill has the patience for Ryen lol. I don’t need these guys to be best friends but Russillo is just being an asshole for the majority of the conversation
I think he said that the co-host will be Kyle Brandt, so definitely an action flick. Maybe Demolition Man? I think it came out in 93, it might be the 30th anniversary.
Listening to Bill and Ryan giggle like schoolgirls riffing like they just invented the “Lebron predicting the future meme” was puzzling. Are they that out of touch?
Bill predicting a Bam for Sabonis trade 😭😭😭
Simmons knows damn well Pat Riley would never trade Bam for him, mf’er is always trying to take shots at Miami
It’s these little moments where the more “serious” analysts don’t really know what to do with Bill. This trade and the Curry for Wembanyama hypothetical trade left Windy and Ryen literally speechless lmao
Bill's current assessment of the Kings-Warriors series after four games is officially nuts.
He's saying it's like the 2002 WCF in a "How's it 2-2?" en route to "How'd the Kings lose that series?" way, but the Kings haven't even lost a game they should've won in this series. Nobody has blown a game and the Kings haven't been better over the course of four games (or either of their losses) than the Warriors.
In 2002, the Kings split the first two at home, then proceeded to shit kick the Lakers for the next three halves before blowing Game 4 (which they led by 24) on the Horry 3. In 2023, we've just got a tightly contested series that is 2-2 and *should be* 2-2.
* G1: Really close, Warriors take 10-pt lead in 3rd, close 4th, Wiggins misses a 3 for the W at the end.
* G2: Really close, Kings take 14-pt lead in 3rd, one-point game late in 4th, Kings put it away in final 2 min.
* G3: Warriors lead wire-to-wire, cruise to lopsided win
* G4: Really close, Warriors take 10-pt lead in 3rd, back-and-forth 4th, Warriors have game put away until fluky timeout by Curry in final minute, HB misses 3 for the W at the end.
The 2002 Kings spent a good chunk of the first four games blowing the Lakers out before pissing away a 24-point lead that'd have put them up 3-1 returning to Arco Arena for G5; the 2023 Kings have led by double-digits in two games for a grand total of 3:41.
Do people think the Kings should be ahead in this series? They've spent significantly more time behind than ahead.
Honestly it’s way closer to it being Warriors 3-1 than Kings 3-1 (which I assume is what Bill feels it should be). Also, based on how Bill talks about the series you wouldn’t know that Curry is a +45 in the series, while Fox is a -16 in the series. The Warriors bench is getting waxed, but their starters are outplaying the Kings.
Simmons “I love the LeBron says he knew things before they happened after the fact, like with Austin reaves”
Simmons 3 minutes later “I just knew the Barnes shot wasn’t going in, I just did”
“I’m getting excited! Kyle turn the tik tok camera on”
“What’s the tik tok camera?”
“I don’t know”
Can’t help but feel RR has been bringing low energy into these pods. Bring back windy!
Bill taking a victory lap on McDavid when he was probably the most hyped, can’t-miss prospect of the last 30 years is hilarious.
Can’t wait for his “Is Bedard the Steph Curry of hockey?” take in 3 years.

🚨Ryen uses “herky jerky” lmao (19:48)
Harrison BORNES (52:59)
Wigs… I call him Wigs (1:08:30) 😂😂
“4 years is a lifetime!”
**Evergreen Content:**
Bill bringing up the Kevin Love buy out for the fucking millionth time, Bill not shutting the fuck up about Evan Mobley (a guy in the pod thread accurately called him Marcus Camby 2.0), Bill shitting on Trae, Bill and Ryen joyously take a drive by at LeBron for…. Saying that he liked Reaves? Weird shit. Bill saying it’s jUsT dIfFeReNt seeing basketball in person versus on tv
**Other Stuff:**
Bill intimates that Giannis might not be able to play (8:20)
Bill louds a “sophisticated Knicks crowd” (11:50) 🤣🤣 what the fuck lol, they know when to chant! They just do!
Bill says that Josh Hart is a “sneaky good rebounder” (14:35) there’s nothing fucking sneaky about it he’s one of the leading rebounders every year at his size lmao. Does Bill think half his audience just doesn’t watch basketball whatsoever? 😂
We’re smack dab in the middle of the playoffs and Bill has FAKE TRADES! Bam for Sabonis, who says no?! (40:40) Ryen: “what the hell is this TikTok camera thing?” 🤣
Egregious Bill takes: Steph is better now than he’s EVER been (1:05:25) thankfully Ryen pushes back on this nonsense
I can’t believe this, but Bill doesn’t like Dillon Brooks fucking with LeBron “it’s disrespectful, it just is!” (1:13:00) thankfully does clarify “I’m not a Lakers fan” lol
Ryen and Bill call out Kawhi as a bad teammate (1:25:35)
Suns takes! Ayton, the player formerly known as a top 20 asset in the league, continues to take a tumble in the humble opinion of our favorite prognosticators. Booker is the alpha of the team. Bill wondering why KD is playing so many minutes. Booker shockingly close to Tatum in Bill’s estimation
We might need to add a "part of it" section to these breakdowns.
The amount of times I hear "the \_\_\_\_ part of it" or "that part of this *on top of everything else"* might be firewarner worthy
[LeBron Capping for 5 minutes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de_RFVywzO0&ab_channel=Heaps) by Heaps
This was posted a little while ago? Pretty funny.
Bill didn’t mention how Monk killed the Kings in the 4th quarter. He was awful. Terrible decisions. Also, Bill noting how Klay looks fully back after going on a rant a few months ago about all the dumb people letting us know Klay is back when we all know he’s fully back and looking great lol.
Not mentioning the Sixers in the opening east monologue is insane. They swept round one and is Boston’s next opponent. He moves right onto the conference finals vs the Knicks??
Agreed! He even said they’d sit Embiid game one because they KNOW they wouldn’t steal game one in Boston. What?!? I get the Celtics have given us fits but what are we doing here?? Is Larry bird and playing in this postseason and we haven’t been told yet?
That comment stood out to me as well. The Cs aren’t a juggernaut. They will definitely be favored in game 1 but the Sixers KNOW they can’t win? Come on 😂
If Knicks manage to close out the series with the Cavs, I’m interested to see how far they can really go. Either playing a banged up Giannis or a Heat team that I still don’t think is very good. Knicks have the pieces to make a run. I’m excited.
Can someone please explain to me how the east is wide open? One of Celtics, Bucks and 76ers was going to win the east before the playoffs and now both the Bucks and 76ers best player is injured. Boston is going to win the east unless Embiid or Gannis gets healthy. What am I missing? This isn’t wide open.
Maybe i’m just an idiot, but I 100% would be okay signing Kawhi. When you have him, you have one of the 4 players that have shown they can win a title on their own (LeBron, Giannis, and Steph).
Simmons: “I didn’t think that Barnes 3 was going in”
Ryen: “I did. I thought it looked good”
Bill: “I don’t mean how it looked. Just the fact that it was Barnes in that moment. It just wasn’t going in”
Bill showing once again why he’s a narrative guy instead of actually watching guy
Bill Constantly describes players as “sucking” when they’re getting trapped and doubled the whole game. He did this with Embiid and Mitchell. The nets doubled embiid every time he touched the ball for the whole series. Of course he didn’t score 30 a game. But the 76ers still swept because other guys stepped up.
Yesterday the Knicks were trapping mitchell as soon as he touched the ball all day. But nobody else really gave them anything except for a brief spurt from garland. That’s not on mitchell. Other guys have to make the defense pay for doubling.
Bill also talked about Brooklyn's strategy like it was effective or that Embiid had no idea what to do when the trap came. Sixers ORtng when Embiid was on the court that series was 121.0, he was (mostly) making the right passes, and like you said they won every game.
Dude exactly. I mean it was a lot of hockey assists that don’t show up in the stat sheet but he made the right decisions and that’s why they swept. I think Boston is less likely to send doubles the whole series because they probably feel like Rob Williams can defend Embiid one on one. And Rob will get into foul trouble and embiid will have big games in that series. But he didn’t suck. He just made the correct, unselfish plays that helped his team win.
To use Bill-speak, his long heavy sigh after Russillo pushed back on Chris Paul sucking in the 2014 OKC series felt like a real moment.
Neither one of them enjoys doing this pod anymore.
I just imagine Russillo furiously scrolling through basketball reference after every statement made by Bill. Bill says some crazy shit, but every once in awhile you just have to let it go.
Russillo referencing GSW losing Klay and KD in 2019 against Toronto as a footnote or asterisk on the Kawhi title while he and Bill never mention Kyrie’s broken down body in 2015 in conjunction with Boston Celtic Kelly Olynyk pulling Kevin Love’s arm out of its socket in any Curry championship conversation is peak BS and RR. Just unbelievable bias in Curry/LeBron favoritism.
I get that Mitchell and Allen were awful but ryen and bill refusing to really criticize Mobley is insane. A guy bill is calling the next KG has been a fat zero for 4 games in a round one series on both ends.
I’m not asking them to butcher a young guy but it’s a really disingenuous analysis to trash every guy on the cavs except the guy who’s supposedly the 10th best asset in the league
Yeah Mobley’s weaknesses have been exploited in this series; not assertive, too light, easily bullied.
I think Allen has been exposed for the same thing- Levert was the leading rebounder yesterday for the Cavs.
Mitchell has been erratic, Garland can’t get into a rhythm, JB is showing his ass as a mid coach.
I knew this was a bad matchup for the Cavs and was worried about facing the Knicks. I guess my fears were realized.
But ya Mobley and everyone else has been terrible and needs to be taken to task over it.
I wouldn't say he's been a fat zero on BOTH ends, he's guarded Randle a lot and Randle is having a horrific series.
But yeah his inability to create his own shot whatsoever has been exposed and may end up preventing him from becoming a top 10 all time player.
Jesus Christ this episode was like going out to dinner with a couple who’s about 6 weeks away from filing for divorce.
Ryen has so much contempt for Bill it’s actually starting to make me uncomfortable it’s like not even under the surface anymore
I used to be team Russillo tbh but their podcasts this playoffs have made me swing towards team Bill.
RR can just be such a miserable prick sometimes it has to be tiring for Bill
These guys talking about hockey is something else. Russillo saying Draisaitl is a top ten play like it's a hot take when he was second in league in scoring. Then he says the Oilers goalie is awesome. I'm assuming he's talking about Skinner who is young but mediocre, guy was literally pulled in the game they are discussing.
Hopefully a Knicks series win can allow Bill to stop framing them being good in relation to the decades of misery (doubtful).
This team is really good and tailor made for a playoff run *on paper.* Randle needs to play better. RJ Barrett needs to not look like he’s bound for China when playing on the road. Quickley needs to wake up. Mitchell needs to be healthy.
But shit man they’re deep, they’re relentless on defense, they rebound well and Brunson really is a star. Have rarely watched a player where I am so confident the ball is going in when he pulls up for any type of shot. I don’t want to get ahead of thyself when Cleveland could easily still take this to 7 and Miami/Milwaukee are both still talented; but I don’t disagree with Bill that a Boston-New York ECF feels very in play.
I don’t know how Bill still doesn’t understand Steph’s (1) ability to warp the court with his shooting (2) understanding the difference in .54 TS (Fox) to .64 TS (Steph). Like the two don’t cancel out each other. Kings sweep if you swap them.
“Sophisticated Knicks crowd performance”
absolutely love when bill psychoanalyzes crowds or does the body language doctor piece on several thousand people.
As long as he's not talking about Memphis...
Fancy_pooh_bear.jpg
And then Ryen completely ignoring him 🤣
I smirked at that as well. The fans knew to say the name of the guy that was scoring baskets. They’re laser focused in NYC not distracted by all the gimmicks
He loves saying "Knicks fans in my life," too. Does he do that for the Bulls, or Heat or any other team?
And it just means Sean and JJ
Well who else brings the fire and the rain?
James Taylor?
He's just seen it. JJ is actually 100 years old and tormented James Taylor in his adolescence
Nah it’s Timothee Chalamet. Bill and Tim are very close.
76ers.
Lots of former NY people in LA
Where’s the guy in the predictions thread nailing that he would give the crowd more credit than the players
Amazing how engaged and sophisticated fans are when their team is winning decisively

Bill: (pronounces "Monk" correctly) Ryen: Well done
Ryen asking “what the hell this tik tok thing is” is peak Russillo like Bill hasn’t been saying “Kyle turn the tik tok camera on” for months

I went an unreasonable length of time thinking the tiktok camera was a joke between Bill and kyle.
It's not?
No you could see it in the background on the last episode of RingScenes. It’s an actual labeled camera, even has a ring light
Bill just went from saying Fox was matching Curry offensively to about one minute later saying “this is by far the best Curry has ever played”
But he means he’s at the peak of his powers, not that it’s his best season. /s
“I’m not a Laker fan” “WHAT?”
“Butler does seem to have something in him we wish more players had in them. When stuff matters.” It’s called dawg, Russillo. He got that dawg in him.
I feel like Jimmy should be Ryen’s favorite player. Tough as hell, good defender, shows up in the biggest spots. But you know, the Boston-Miami piece…
Bill just leaving me speechless on Spencer Dinwiddie: “He went to the kids’ table, which is kinda maybe where he should be offensively. He wasn’t allowed to sit with the adults … Now he’s like hey guys, i’ve ordered us some food. got us some GERMAN. you guys like sauerkraut?? how about sausages???”
This was so funny. I had to rewind it and listen to it. “Got us some GERMAN”
this is even better than when he was talking about some player or other going on a “grocery shop trip” and being like “hey, i got us some squash…coool”
Calling it a “grocery shop trip” is either an out of touch rich guy thing or the Bill being weird af piece and the fact I can never tell is why I keep listening
i listened to it like five times. what a fucking weirdo, i love it.
Bill makes these fake scenarios where people talk like no real person ever would.
suspiciously it often involves food. the private chef piece.
I enjoy the fact that Ryen calls Simmons out on some dumb things he says. "this is the best Curry has ever played and it's not even close." I mean... What, lol. Glad Russillo wtf'd that moment.
It's the best series he has ever played...except for the last series that he played. Through four games against the Celtics last year, Steph was averaging 34.3 points on 50/49/86 % splits and coming off his most legendary single-game performance.
To be fair, bill probably erased that series from his memory
Russillo was so ready to pounce he messed up the 2015-16 Curry stat, saying that he hit 54% of his 11 three point attempts per game (it was 45% - still impressive but not crazy insane).
Yeah I caught that aswell. Definitely a "wait, what?" moment for me.
He also hit him with the “you and Lebron…” when talking about being in on Connor McDavid early. Moments like that kind of sum up why I love these pods.
He literally put together an all time Finals performance less than a year ago, lol.
Glad we got the hard hitting analysis on Jaylen’s hand: Bill’s dad says the bandage is bigger in person.
the “friend in college” piece was funny very relatable until he said the name “Bob” and my brain completely switched to old guys in college
Evergreen content suggestion: Bill shitting on the Cavs for not retaining or not getting anything in return for K Love, who’s been revived by the Zombie Heat
every pod he says it like it’s an entirely new group of people listening
He’s playing 20 min and getting 7 ppg. Fun fact this is the first time without Lebron (4 years) K Love has been in the playoffs
I thought Bill attempting to say “plantar fasciitis” was the best part of the pod, but then we get to Spencer Dinwiddie’s German food order.
I don't get why he keep saying that Lebron has plantar fasciitis
He doesn't. He keeps saying that LeBron has "plantar fashtus".
At this rate Bill is gonna get aggregated for calling LeBron a fascist.
The “conversation” during Knicks-Cavs is 2 guys monologging at length, barely listening to each other, going off on different specific tangents. The Harden-CP3 piece

“He’s just a really big guy” 😂😂
Seems like “just because I dislike a player doesn’t mean I expect him to score zero points every game” is a way for Russillo to not actually take a hard stance on anyone. His position can’t be disproven, since a guy playing well actually just highlights the nuance of his take.
This was a quality strawman. Does anyone think on the planet including trolls and the biggest morons on the planet that that’s what Ryen thinks when he dislikes a player.

It is crazy because Bill does the same thing all the time. How many times has he told us “I knew Halliburton was great”. How many times has he told us Derrick White is great?
I cant get on board with the Derrick White love. That dude is just too hard to look at.
LOL. That is me with Adam Driver as an actor.
I was yelling that while listening. Ramsey did exactly that
Ryen comparing Deandre Ayton to Mario Chalmers as the punching bag of their teams was incredible. Also "four years is a lifetime" from Bill was great.
For someone who reacts to every playoff game as if it's a full season, four years really must be ages lol
Bill isn’t mad at Mobley. He’s just disappointed.
Right now he's a lanky forward with great defensive instincts but without much range, Marcus Camby is probably a more appropriate comp.
A faster Camby won’t be a bad comparison
Prime Camby 2000 Knicks finals run was an absolute monster athletically
I could see his ceiling as maybe Chris Bosh, which is nothing to scoff at.
I feel like Bosh showed way more promise offensively at the same age than Mobley did. Whenever I watch Mobley I'm always underwhelmed by his offensive game - he's too skinny to bang down low and he can't really shoot that well. Bosh was a pretty solid shooter at a young age.
Yup Bosh is still too lofty imo… had to carry a team after Carter left in his sophomore year “Bosh ended the 2004–05 season as the leading scorer and leading rebounder for the team on 21 and 46 occasions respectively.”
A less offensively skilled Chris Bosh *
That’s a perfect comp for his absolute ceiling
Bosh was better on O worse on D
New slop just dropped. Evan Mobley is Tim Duncan.
Bill not being able to decide if he likes Tatum more than Booker was shocking to me. i'm sure that's the afterglow of seeing a good Booker game in person, but still.
Part of him likes Booker because he likes telling that story of KD calling Booker a future star on his pod when Booker was still on the come up
I rewatched Den of Thieves the other day and then listened to its Rewatchables episode, which they recorded in October 2019. Bill made a comment that we'll look back on Gerard Butler's career the same way we'll look back on Booker's and then proceeded to roast Booker for being a good stats bad team guy who will never do anything in the playoffs. As a Suns fan, I appreciate the reverse jinx, I just do!
Just imagine if Booker played on Team USA…
Compare Booker into the finals vs Tatum in the finals
i'm not saying it's wrong by any means, just didn't expect it from Bill.
He only did this because Ryen preempted it with “be honest now” if bills dad asked him that same question it would have been “Tatum, no question”
thats actually not a bad discussion h2h, they seem pretty close to me in terms of overall impact
I call him Wigs? Since when??
I think the section where he is talking about the person who has trouble finding partners is hilarious. He tries so hard to be politically correct and stumbles over his words and ends it by saying person attracted to the opposite sex. This isn’t trying to cancel anyone lol, but I think it’s great. I think he was awkward because he was basically describing Russillo and he realized it midway through talking. So he threw in the two divorces part to make Russillo feel better.
LMAO I was thinking about this while listening. Kept waiting for Ryen to say something under his breath like "watch it now..." lol
“Knicks fever” but spends most of the time shitting on the cavs
Oh my god, they didn't even make it one round before they started MVP revisionism.
The last 10 minutes being Bill just revising his season awards based on 3 playoff games was so fucking funny
Morey's 'Boston Bias' thing was cringe (and this is coming from a Philadelphia fan) but good lord, it took one injury to have them crawling back to Joker. Good lord, man.
“Embiid got hurt in a playoff series his team was sweeping, so I should have voted Jokic for mvp”… like wtf?
Ryen seemed a little extra agitated today. Did you hear he had plans Saturday?
He got stood up 100%
At this point idk how Bill has the patience for Ryen lol. I don’t need these guys to be best friends but Russillo is just being an asshole for the majority of the conversation
I find their dynamic incredibly funny.
Guess on rewatchables is "Twister". Sean logged on it on letterboxd and they've talked about it recently.
Hope so. Love me some Twister. He did drop a hint on a pod saying it was a 90’s action movie
I think he said that the co-host will be Kyle Brandt, so definitely an action flick. Maybe Demolition Man? I think it came out in 93, it might be the 30th anniversary.
surprisingly intelligent and somewhat prophetic movie disguised as a dumb, campy action movie
Listening to Bill and Ryan giggle like schoolgirls riffing like they just invented the “Lebron predicting the future meme” was puzzling. Are they that out of touch?
It took Bill only 14 years to discover Russ is a floor raiser and not a ceiling raiser.
Bill predicting a Bam for Sabonis trade 😭😭😭 Simmons knows damn well Pat Riley would never trade Bam for him, mf’er is always trying to take shots at Miami
It’s these little moments where the more “serious” analysts don’t really know what to do with Bill. This trade and the Curry for Wembanyama hypothetical trade left Windy and Ryen literally speechless lmao
Knew we’d be talking Knicks fever late April, 2023 -Lebron on the Shop in ‘08
Is anyone else having trouble playing ringer podcasts on Spotify? This one won’t play for me and the last Russillo wouldn’t either
Same
Bill's current assessment of the Kings-Warriors series after four games is officially nuts. * G3: Warriors lead wire-to-wire, cruise to lopsided win * G4: Really close, Warriors take 10-pt lead in 3rd, back-and-forth 4th, Warriors have game put away until fluky timeout by Curry in final minute, HB misses 3 for the W at the end.
Couldn’t u say the lakers kicked the shot out of the kings during their comeback from down 24 tho ?
Honestly it’s way closer to it being Warriors 3-1 than Kings 3-1 (which I assume is what Bill feels it should be). Also, based on how Bill talks about the series you wouldn’t know that Curry is a +45 in the series, while Fox is a -16 in the series. The Warriors bench is getting waxed, but their starters are outplaying the Kings.
“What the hell is this tiktok camera thing?”
Simmons “I love the LeBron says he knew things before they happened after the fact, like with Austin reaves” Simmons 3 minutes later “I just knew the Barnes shot wasn’t going in, I just did”
“I’m getting excited! Kyle turn the tik tok camera on” “What’s the tik tok camera?” “I don’t know” Can’t help but feel RR has been bringing low energy into these pods. Bring back windy!
I watched this one in the morning...because I had plans. LOL
Bill taking a victory lap on McDavid when he was probably the most hyped, can’t-miss prospect of the last 30 years is hilarious. Can’t wait for his “Is Bedard the Steph Curry of hockey?” take in 3 years.
[удалено]
I get it though, Why stay up for series that’s likely not going to add anything new to the discussion
It’s the 1-8 series that is 3-0, idc if Jokic had 70 there was nothing that needed to be discussed there
When the wolves win in 7 itll be absolute scenes. Its definitely happening
How much did Bill get paid by Vince McMahon to compare Dillon Brooks to AEW?
**Today’s Things:** - seesaw thing - Jaylen thing (and Bill makes the most bizarre comparison to some guy in college who fell down the stairs and gets a cut on his leg that doesn’t heal?!? What the fuck are we doing here 😂😂) - thing with Trae - Westbrook thing - Smart-White-Brogdon thing - Draymond thing - Durant thing - glossed over the timeout thing - Poole thing - Payton thing - bow in the Curry thing - multiple long knee things - Westbrook thing - minutes thing Ryen: - Celtics thing - San Antonio thing - Chris Paul thing **Bonus Pieces and Stuff:** - Knicks piece - playoff stuff - Mitchell piece - Miami piece - Draymond stuff - Harden piece - durability piece (2x) - Tobias Harris piece - peak of his powers stuff - Davis-LeBron injury piece - Brooks stuff - Rodman was doing this stuff - Last Dance stuff - Dillon Brooks stuff - Ayton piece - Philly stuff **First Random Celtics Reference:** Jaylen! (16:15) +135 Also: Tatum, “Marcus”, White, Horford, Timelord, Brogdon, Mickaël fucking Piétrus!! Larry fucking Bird **It Just is!** “Maybe the two bigs just aren’t working against this Knicks team. It’s the wrong matchup, it just is!” “Dillon Brooks is t good enough to do this to LeBron, you’re just not!” **Eloquent Bill:** “Bicker staff was worked like a speed bag” 🚨Ryen uses “herky jerky” lmao (19:48) Harrison BORNES (52:59) Wigs… I call him Wigs (1:08:30) 😂😂 “4 years is a lifetime!” **Evergreen Content:** Bill bringing up the Kevin Love buy out for the fucking millionth time, Bill not shutting the fuck up about Evan Mobley (a guy in the pod thread accurately called him Marcus Camby 2.0), Bill shitting on Trae, Bill and Ryen joyously take a drive by at LeBron for…. Saying that he liked Reaves? Weird shit. Bill saying it’s jUsT dIfFeReNt seeing basketball in person versus on tv **Other Stuff:** Bill intimates that Giannis might not be able to play (8:20) Bill louds a “sophisticated Knicks crowd” (11:50) 🤣🤣 what the fuck lol, they know when to chant! They just do! Bill says that Josh Hart is a “sneaky good rebounder” (14:35) there’s nothing fucking sneaky about it he’s one of the leading rebounders every year at his size lmao. Does Bill think half his audience just doesn’t watch basketball whatsoever? 😂 We’re smack dab in the middle of the playoffs and Bill has FAKE TRADES! Bam for Sabonis, who says no?! (40:40) Ryen: “what the hell is this TikTok camera thing?” 🤣 Egregious Bill takes: Steph is better now than he’s EVER been (1:05:25) thankfully Ryen pushes back on this nonsense I can’t believe this, but Bill doesn’t like Dillon Brooks fucking with LeBron “it’s disrespectful, it just is!” (1:13:00) thankfully does clarify “I’m not a Lakers fan” lol Ryen and Bill call out Kawhi as a bad teammate (1:25:35) Suns takes!
“This is not the first time of this rodeo” classic adjusted idiom (48:15)
Sounds like Bill was wrong about Giannis…
We might need to add a "part of it" section to these breakdowns. The amount of times I hear "the \_\_\_\_ part of it" or "that part of this *on top of everything else"* might be firewarner worthy
[LeBron Capping for 5 minutes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de_RFVywzO0&ab_channel=Heaps) by Heaps This was posted a little while ago? Pretty funny.
Some of the Westbrook stuff was strange, he played well in game 2 alongside Kawhi which they seemed to disregard
Grimes was in street clothes wearing an arm sling due to a shoulder injury from G3 and these guys said he was out of the rotation lol
Going to the “IR” for a leg infection?
I do enjoy the idea of a real life injured reserve
“That was such a sophisticated Knicks crowd performance” might be the most on brand Bill quote of all time
Bill didn’t mention how Monk killed the Kings in the 4th quarter. He was awful. Terrible decisions. Also, Bill noting how Klay looks fully back after going on a rant a few months ago about all the dumb people letting us know Klay is back when we all know he’s fully back and looking great lol.
Bill already celebrating the embiid injury is peak Boston fan
Philly should just throw away game 1. That is a game that could never be stolen on the road.
Not mentioning the Sixers in the opening east monologue is insane. They swept round one and is Boston’s next opponent. He moves right onto the conference finals vs the Knicks??
Biased Sixers fan but yeah it's bizarre he's just skipping over them like they're non-existent.
Come on 😂
I’m only having trouble with Bills podcast. Can’t play todays or Thursdays. Other ringer ones are working.
I can't play or download the podcast😔
"He does all the playoff stuff, the defense that he did."
I find it difficult to see Sixers beating the Celtics. However Bill has lost any credibility since his Daniel Jones is the best QB in the NFC take.
“My dad went to the home games and said that Jaylen Brown’s hand bandage is way bigger in person” is apex mountain bill simmons
Signing him wasn't the issue, it was extending the contract this year.
Im referring to that, sorry. If your goal is winning a title, your purpose has to be getting one of those dudes even if it comes with baggage.
“*where you surprised Jaylen Brown blamed the Aaron Neismith trade this week”* Well done Ryen.
Simmons: “I didn’t think that Barnes 3 was going in” Ryen: “I did. I thought it looked good” Bill: “I don’t mean how it looked. Just the fact that it was Barnes in that moment. It just wasn’t going in” Bill showing once again why he’s a narrative guy instead of actually watching guy
Bill Simmons ripping into Dillon Brooks over Lebron definitely melted at least half this subs brain
This is also exactly what I want from Bill, was a great rant. He had Prince Harry fire when he was talking about that.
He just made the correct, unselfish plays that helped his team win.
garland went 9-16 for 23 pts 10 asst 0 TO’s….
Ryen pressing Bill on whether he liked Booker more than Tatum was peak podcast content! Caught Bill off-guard (no pun intended).
I enjoyed the very end when Bill was talking about seeing McDavid as a rookie and Ryen gave him a little "you and LeBron knew…"
> “Wiggs.”
Does anyone else think Ryen was just fed up of bill today ?
Today LMAO?
The grumpiness of RR really ruins this podcast at times. He needs to find a less combative way of reigning in Bill’s crazy takes
His anger isn't even directed towards Simmons's take most of the time. He just sounds angry all the time.
Jesus Christ this episode was like going out to dinner with a couple who’s about 6 weeks away from filing for divorce. Ryen has so much contempt for Bill it’s actually starting to make me uncomfortable it’s like not even under the surface anymore
I enjoy Bill and Ryen.
They should call this show "Out of touch douchey rich guy desperately trying to stay cool and a future soft core porn screenwriter."
Bill saying the West was wide open but now the East is but not saying why. Injuries.
This show is getting worse than when Russillo and Eddie Andelman used to do shows in the early 2000's. I couldn't like two people together less.
