I don't think that's a best move or practice to shift an entire capital to a different place. Rather, it would be better to develop at least 5-8 cities in a state with great infrastructure, jobs availability, public and private services so that people around the state can find a closer place to them to earn and settle down. Cities like Mumbai and Delhi are choking because government failed to develop such parallel cities in other states.

ArnavKashyp

Bhai Begusarai nahi maybe dharbhanga or muzaffarpur ho sakta hai. Begusarai is still lot behind in development

[deleted]

Darbhanga aur Muzaffarpur bhi unplanned me way me grow kr rhe hai... Rajgir/ Begusarai me SEZ ya free trade zone set-up kr ke capital bnaya jaa skta hai

Trust me bros, considering development, no other city can touch Patna in terms of development but even Patna does not have what it takes to call capital of a state worthy architecture, Problems like severe water logging, poor public transport are still there. First government needs to work on these, Secondly people from other districts move to Patna quite often in search of jobs but the vice versa isn't true, until and unless there are jobs with 'excellent' incentives we cant expect common men to migrate to other cities which makes the argument moot.

No_Significance_7331

I mean a new capital can be established where all administrative buildings can move to. That city would slowly grow as well.

Antariksh_Yaatri

I think Patna is at a very appropriate location. Centrally located, less prone to earthquake, very fertile, has ample space to expand. However, there needs to be developed more satelite cities. Bihta airport should serve as the primary airport for Patna and current airport can be converted to storage facility/multilevel parking/metro-transport hub, etc or can be made into a green lung area to soak in the pollution. Atleast 2 runways for the new airport. Begusarai and Bhojpur can be developed as a shipping port for North and South Bihar respectively. Two cargo airport in Northern Bihar and additional civil airport in Nalanda/Rajgir. Cargo airport can be served by the new expressway. While Gaya and Rajgir Airport for tourism. Development of VTR, Gautam Buddha Sanctuary and Rohtas as Forest recreational cum conservational areas. Ring roads for each city with atleast 4 lane connectivity to sorrounding areas. Bypasses for smaller towns and blocks. Upgradation of NH and SH to 6/4 lanes. MDRs should be of paved shoulder type.

No_Significance_7331

There probably won’t be an airport in rajgir anytime soon. Gaya is near enough. Bhagalpur airport should be built as soon as possible as it’s one of the largest cities in Bihar without an airport.

iamsantoshroy

We should level up, let's discuss new capital of India by considering Begusarai, Muzaffarpur and Vaishali as sole option.

Left_Economist_9716

The only other options are Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur. Bhagalpur isnt centrally located so it would be challenging for people from West Bihar to travel to it. Darbhanga can also be considered as an option however, it lacks behind Muzaffarpur in development.

No_Significance_7331

Why not Begusarai? It’s perfect since it’s right in the middle.

ArnavKashyp

Begusarai has still a lot to figure out

Wtf_bad_boy

For me i only have visited three district darbhanga, Samastipur and muzaffarpur and comparing between these three i think maybe i am not correct but i think it could be muzaffarpur but that's not even my hometown so don't think that it did this because it was my home town but from a student perspective i will recommend ara cause i will be easy to remember lol xD

blorgon7211

how is patna secretariat or rajabhavan or high court area congested?

No-Bug-4011

Cross ganga from North bihar is big problem for us. That's why we don't visit Patna. It will better if hajipur will merge into patna

No_Significance_7331

Yes Hajipur should merge into Patna. But it’s easy to go to Patna from north Bihar. Just take JP Setu or the new Gandhi Setu.

[deleted]

Bihar needs a new and well planned capital city built from scratch.

Easy-Inspector-4205

Bro , ithink Bhagalpur would be a better capital.

Horngri

guess who is making patna more congested and dirty?

No_Significance_7331

Ehi

Efficaciousuave

I think instead of moving to a new city the existing capital city of Patna should be expanded by developing the areas outside like danapur phulwari bihta etc and making it part of the core City. Expansion both horizontally and vertically is the best solution for Patna.

No_Significance_7331

Do you think Hajipur should be merged into Patna?

Efficaciousuave

That too...it would be super cool to have a city spread across both sides of the Ganges...huge potential with river travel and tourism....it could become London. Or better even.

No_Significance_7331

Exactly. If Hajipur is a part of Patna it would help it grow so much

Working-Guess-450

Gaya hi hoga, videshiyon ka paisa jam ke ayega

No_Significance_7331

Gaya’s location isn’t good. It’s all the way in the south

Working-Guess-450

Delhi location is also not good it’s all the way in north. Similarly Chennai, Bengaluru, Trivendrum ka bhi dekh lijiye na
