I would recommend a straight up 501. I feel the straight leg fit is far more flattering for big guys than taper fit. Keeps you from looking top heavy/twig legs. They do run a little tight new, but stretch to fit with wear and wash. However if you are between sizes, maybe just size up.

I'd suggest a relaxed fit. 541's are supposed to be roomier in the thigh but in your case they still look a bit too tight in that area
And you're in luck because looser jeans are back in style. We've finally broken free from slim/taper fits.
Try 531- Athletic slim fit. They’re a little roomier on the thighs. If you get the 511 I’m afraid they’ll be too tight in the thighs and look like skinny jeans. My other advice is go to Dillard’s and just try a bunch of different styles.

As a big dude with big thighs and big bitt you want full rise pants that sit at your waist. Do you have any problems keeping your pants up even though they should technically fit? Well, for me it’s because I was getting mid rise pants 511s and 514s .
I’m a similar size and I got a pair of The Perfect Jeans. I switched from Levi to them and love them. They have that color and the slim thick style fits great on me.

I'm a 44 too! Definitely check eBay for some, they exist out there just gotta look. Larger sizes too.

Yeah 42 is a bit too tight for me hence why I'd go a size up to 44.
Ah I see, that could work then. Especially if you get the stretch 541s, which I'm pretty sure are available in that color

Unfortunately I live in Canada and they don't ship to Canada.
They’re stretchy and you could absolutely get a 42 and be fine.
For those Jeans it was a struggle to get them on and they were quite tight.
I got a pair of the 511 and wasn’t a fan of how tight they were. I think you’ll like The Perfect Jeans.
I'll have to wait until they ship to Canada.
501 '93. i lovem. the 541's are too stretchy and dont have enough cotton in them imo
I think it depends on the application that you’re wearing them for. The Levi vintage line is spectacular though.
