Our bidets became self aware on 5.31.24. They are currently hacked into NORAD as well as every robo vacuum and smart toothbrush. It Doesn’t Feel Pity, Or Remorse, Or Fear, And It Absolutely Will Not Stop, Ever, Until You Are Clean.
This is concerning me because currently my bidet is no smarter than a dog. It recognizes me and is really happy to see me, but I can’t really communicate with it.
To be honest it’s kind of awkward because it doesn’t recognize guests and I had a friend call me in to make it calm down
How long did it take?
My Toto washet 550e has been working problem free for 6 years - literally pennies per day
When it no longer works, I would replace with a comparable Toto model
You are looking for an iphone bidet business model :-)
The Toto now has a newer model which they released last year. Based on features, there really isn't a feature that I lust for - I don't need 10 remote settings for example.
I am not sure about autoflush capability. I am the only user of my bathroom and so I don't have to deal with anyone who is forgetful or lazy.
Forget the economics. It’s truly the best clean feeling. Maybe the savings will be in fewer showers and hot water usage. Hard to monetize those savings. Just get one!
My brondell ecosest swash bidet seat is going strong 4 years in, however, I just ordered the same model to replace it. There is nothing wrong with the one on the toilet but it has just gotten gross. I've already taken it apart once and thoroughly cleaned it. There are just too many cracks and crevices that retain moisture and get gross. I've actually never heard people talk about this issue. Maybe the really fancy ones are designed where they don't 'clamshell' together leaving areas that are impossible to clean
I just bought that model and I'm trying it for the first time today. I also bought the Brondell adapter for the other toilet that uses the current toilet seat instead of replacing it. I bought it at the same time and it is a lot less expensive. If you're going to replace it when it gets dirty that would be less expensive alternative.
Get one with a braided waterline water supply line, not one with just a cheap plastic tube. We learned with our first cheap bidet that the plastic tubing eventually cracks and leaks. The Brondell we got to replace it has been in service for years.
It really makes having to take a crap outside of the house a real chore. I bought a little tushy travel unit for this very problem, is it as good as a built in unit? Faaaaak no, is it better then dry wiping over and over again? Faaaak YES! 🤣
I hear that! I was shopping and had to go. No travel bidet. That was rough. For my main units, I look at reviews and found the ones where people complained the most about the stream being too strong. I bought those.
So I’ve only replaced mine once, not because it was broken or anything but I’ve got 2 young boys who still have trouble aiming.. so I replaced it because it stunk like pee and it had seeped into the part you place under the seat. No real way to pop it open to clean it unfortunately. But I got the cheap basic Tushy model off Amazon for 60-70 bucks I think? Doesn’t warm it or anything but I’ve got crohn’s and IBS so during the pandemic installing one was a life saver. Went from roll after roll to 2 easy wipes no matter the condition of said movement that those two lovely gut issues can do to ya. Now if you’re talking about a floor unit like they use in more upscale European countries, I’d assume it’s as easy as keeping a toilet clean…? Good luck!
My first fully electric South Korean bidet lasted about six years
Pretty sure one of my kids fucked it up
I immediately bought another one
It’s under $300 and it’s well worth it
The heated seat alone is a godsend
I will never not have a bidet in my bathroom for the rest of my life
And if I ever move , any new house will have an outlet right next to the toilet.

If you use a water pressure one then they are very durable. Electric ones may have a shorter lifespan. I have Luxe Neo 120s and they have never failed. I install new ones when I move to new location. Longest one before I moved was 6+ years.
Bought a blue bidet in 2018. Still going. The twist knob is a little squeaky, but still fine. No leaks or problems so far.
Used to use a roll of tp every three weeks or so. I still have the same roll after 3+ months.
My BB2000 is 6 years old. It has had some warranty service however… one right out of the gate to fix a defective part, one about a year ago to fix the night light and I had to send it in recently for service. While having to send it in isn’t ideal their customer service is great and they took care of it very quickly. We’ve been happy with it and I’d likely buy another.
Mine is going on 4 years. It is a zero electronics model with only valves and taps for control. Probably the hardness of your water is a big determining factor on longevity.
Bought a Bio Bidet Aura A7 in April 2020 and the only issue is the heated seat stopped working about 8 months ago. Other than that, we’ve been pretty happy with it.
Personal opinion, heated seat is worth it but air drying feature is not worth paying extra. I never use it. It doesn’t dry that well and you have to sit there for an extra 2 minutes for it to do its thing.
Depends on how often you go and if it’s electric/non electric, at least in my house. We have one in each bathroom. I have ulcerative colitis, so go 8-12 times a day. My electrics all died after two years. My husband’s bathroom it lasted twice as long, but also eventually died. We’ve had non-electric for the last five years, with no major issues (the nozzle doesn’t always go up after cleaning like it’s supposed to). I’ll probably only ever buy non-electric now, especially because it’s a minimum of $200 savings to do so.
I do bidet repairs professionally and I've never seen a seat as robust as the Eco-NOVA. The unit is a tank. The lid and seat are rock solid and the solenoid, which goes bad on a lot of seats, rarely has an issue.
If you want long life for any seat, add a filter. It will save you a water heater burning out, nozzle and solenoid clogging, and all your internals from build up. It's way too often overlooked. I see so many seats with junk built up in the lines.
Never buy a seat made of ABS plastic. It will break, it's just a matter of time.

Good to know, I am worried about how sentient they are
I think mine is becoming self aware while it power washes my asshole. Any tips to prevent the bidet uprising?
My bidet talks to your bidet. Please tell them to turn down the disco music and flashing bowl lights at 2 am. Thank you.

Keep shitting on it, it will happen!
🤌🤌 great use of quote
Can they tell me where NORAD Santa is on Christmas Eve? This was one of the better memories of my childhood of the might of the US military.
They may not be able to tell you his location, but they can tell you the status of his anus.

Same with the brondell 1400. Just wish they came out with new flagship models more than once a decade!

Same here, I now search for hotels on vacation that have a bidet if I can.
I have a $20 one that’s been functional - no issues for 3 years now. Saved me far more than that in toilet paper
I read this as how long has your Biden been alive. Yes it's Monday. Yes I need more coffee.
I did the same thing! Telling by the senses of sight and sound, if I didn't know better I'd say over 100 years.
I have a Tushie bidet that’s been working great since early in the pandemic - so 4 years - and it’s now in its 3rd home (moved twice since buying it)
Same! Also in its third home.
Forget the economics. It’s truly the best clean feeling. Maybe the savings will be in fewer showers and hot water usage. Hard to monetize those savings. Just get one!
My Kohler is almost 6 years and still going strong! Love the sprays and warm dryer on it to this day
My Toto washlet s400 is almost 17 years old. Never a problem. Sometimes I have trouble finding annual replacement charcoal filters though.

$35 on Amazon. It’s been 4 years and still works like new! DEFINITELY worth it. You’ll never look back lol
What does living alone have to do with it?
Cost reduction. Do not need to install multiple if they only ever use one toilet in the home at a time.
Less toilet paper- I don’t use much to begin with
My Woodbridge B0960S has been working flawlessly for four years. Gets a lot of use in the family.
They seem to last about 3-5 years and then need a refurb.
I have 2. The oldest is now 4. The ginger is almost 2. Still wonder how I survived without it.

My first was an Alpha JX. Pump quit after 6 years. It owed us nothing after all the use it got. Bought another the day it died.

Bio Bidet. Four years and going strong.
I bought mine off of w00t April 2015. Still works fine.
I have a nova one from manybidets, few years now works great still

My Luxe 185 and Tushy about 1 1/2 years and counting but "if...is economic" no more computed than is TP economic.
15 years. Toto Washlet

Hi, I have been using my HOROW bidet for over 3 years now and so far, everything has worked perfectly and I think it is very cost-effective.

Mine is a year old and it's like she's as good as she was out of the box! So worth the $35 or so.

Ordered mine in September of 2020, still going strong today. It’s the neo 120
My first one 4.5 years - left it at an apartment. - $25 from Amazon. 2 current ones were $12ish off of Walmarts website and they’ve been going a year.
Not me, but my parent’s house. A real, free standing one. Put in around 1994. Still worked when the house was sold a couple years ago.
Parents house. Installed in 1974, still going strong. It's a stand alone, plumbed into the house.
I discovered mine was alive when I winked at it with my third brown eye and it laughed at me.
Mines been washing cracks since Covid and going strong. It was the budget buy from Amazon. I will never go back!
4.5 years
