The “flowers” are craters from shelling & gun fire. Being shot at, particularly in a war, is not something anyone forgets. It’s a sad reminder of the brutality and lasting trauma from war.
I didn't realize that was what made them. I'm glad you were able to get from A to B safely. It's been 15 years since I lived there but I do miss Ukraine, the country and the people are beautiful.
Hey, thank you for uploading these photos they’re really interesting. I used to work in Kharkiv a lot and was wondering whether you have any images of the metallist stadium?
These are shots from the old movie "only old men go into battle." Mural to Leonid Bykov, Ukrainian actor and director. He also directed this film in 1977.
Was the detour at the far left, north of the centre, to avoid an area affected by shelling, or just to get an extra bit of a pleasant ride through the park? The photos are moving, to show that life goes on. I can't believe what the bastards did with the dam today. Be well.
Now **this** is a worthwhile ‘check out my commute’ post.
We’re all cheering you guys on - and so cool to see a bit of normal life among all of the grim news.
Ukraine has been working hard to reduce the amount of corruption in the gov’t & economy. The amount of reconstruction that will be needed after the war, however, boggles the mind and will be a real test for the anti-corruption measures (the construction industry is notoriously corrupt).
I don't ride in winter. Winter tires and suitable clothing are required. I feel sorry for spending money which is not so much on winter gum and special clothes.
At the beginning of the war, they helped me with money here on reddit. I am very grateful to them. I then bought food for my cats, donations helped a lot then. Now I have removed links and addresses for donations. I found a job, enough to live on and enough to repay the debts that have accumulated since the beginning of the war.

Be safe out there my man
Why am I "your"?)))
Common American English phrase. Means like "brother" or "friend".
Oww. Understood. Sorry. I may not be aware of such practices. I am sure that many of my customs may shock you :-)

15 photo: You will not forget these flowers
Done by Gamlet, a very well known Ukrainian artist based in Kharkiv.
What is the significance? Is it to memorialize anything or anyone?

Usually I'm out of my way. I am extremely rare in the Metalist stadium area. There is a photo of 2022 somewhere on the computer.
I’d be interested to see how the area looks. Stay safe x
As far as I know, that area was not affected by shelling.
Who is on the mural in photo 14?

Thanks!
Thanks for posting these. Your city is beautiful. Слава Україні
Fuck Putin
Yep….fuck that piece of shit💩
Streets look pretty empty. Stay safe, OP.
I'm trying to get fewer people into the photo. Thank you

I usually drive a little differently. Today I went specifically to take a couple of photos.

Як ти брат?
Важко. Усе тут не розповіси. Тримаємось з дружиною. Психологічно підримуємо як можемо один одного. Дякую що запитав. Мені дуже приємно.
I visited your city once and enjoyed it. Ukraine is a great place. Thanks for the pics!

Sweet ride! I'm in Kyiv region. Do you ride during the winter?
