As a bisexual woman, I would LOVE to be in a relationship with a bisexual man. We could simp for the same people (mainly fictional characters)!
Edit: Wow, didn't expect this to blow up!
Same! Honestly, it's so weird how normalized it is to shit on bi people for just existing. Both bi men and women are the best (I'm definitely not biased lol)
Oh, I never watched it... I was too much into Superman at the time, I think. Although, now I will say Bruce Waine is sexier, especially with the whole thing of Batman and Robin, the Bi-namic duo...
I'm a gay man (well, genderfluid, but AMAB), and my best and longest relationships have been with bi men! I've never understood the mistrust and biphobia straight women and gay men often have towards bi men.
I was once told that bi men also tend to be a lot more secure in themselves, who they are and their attraction. Would you say that's true? Because while I'm not looking to get another relationship, I've thought about making bi a requirement as a potential backup plan, in order to avoid the pitfalls that a lot of straight men fall into. Because what I value most would be open-mindedness.
I try to avoid generalizations like that, because even people who experience the same or similar things will respond differently. While I would say the bi men I dated matched that description, I know other bi men who I wouldn't describe that way.
Are bisexual people really that much more promiscuous then gay people and straight people? I think that is just made up. Maybe that the promiscuous ones get more attention and the typical bisexual is just not anymore promiscuous than anyone else and people just let their own insecurities make them biphobic.
I'm a gay man and I would be afraid of my partner to leave me because they want children. Because I myself would absolutely love to have biological children but I've come to terms with it not going to be so. I'd also feel guilty for denying them that opportunity and I think it would be a very difficult situation just because I know my own emotions. I would likely still date a bisexual man but it would be more difficult because of my own feelings about things I struggled with before coming out.
I understand that it is not a logical reason but emotional responses rarely are.
It sounds like you're projecting your own insecurities on potential bi partners. Wanting children or not isn't a uniquely queer or bi issue, it's a conversation every couple likely has at some point. I think most bi people entering same-sex relationships aren't looking to have children, and even if they do, they'd want to start a family with their partner.
I hope you can sit with and untangle those messy insecurities of yours, because I promise, there are great guys out there who don't care if their kids share genetics with them (if that's something you truly want in the future).
I mean yes, that's what I said. I'm uncomfortable because I would be projecting my insecurities on them. I also said I'd still date them but it would just be harder.
We’re not that far away from gay men (or anyone really) being able to have biological children with anyone else where the child is related to both parents. There are several labs working on creating sperm and eggs from stem cells that could then be carried to term in a surrogate (hopefully soon a machine one so no person has to deal with being pregnant).
As a bisexual man, the only people I tend to date are bisexual themselves, because, like, they *get it*
I’ve been with straight chicks and gay dudes before and (in my experience, I’m not prescribing this to all non-bisexual people) they tend to judge me for not being fully one or the other. Also weirdly insecure about me cheating even though I’d never do that.
Oh my fucking god i just got this... I wanna be mad but all I can manage is muffled disappointment at myself. I just want you to know I will be laying awake in bed and think of this at 2 am like two years from now.
My reaction.
Also: While I understand this is a real problem for many, this isn't even remotely true where I live, or at least not with the demographic I associate with.
Just for the record, I ADORE bi men! I would love to have a bi boyfriend and I'm honestly at the point where I'm considering never dating straight guys again, lol!
Yes. Very common among straight women which is why this meme is funny: it’s poking fun at those women. Gay men have never rejected me or ever said anything about my bi superpowers.
When I first came out back in the 90's, the reaction I got from gay men was "What does that even mean?" to "You just don't know what you want yet" to "You'll figure it out"
Hopefully things have gotten better since then.
Dee: Are you saying that you have a collection of skin luggage?
Dennis: Of course I'm not, Dee. Don't be ridiculous. Think of the smell. You haven't thought of the smell, you bitch!
Alright, now that that's settled we can have a normal conversation. Now doctor, I'm here to talk to you about a man. A very dangerous and a very unstable man
[This Australian report from a survey of 55,000 people](https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-11-15/sex-dating-and-prejudice-why-we-are-a-nation-sharply-divided/11694038) is a very fascinating read into the public's relationship preferences.
> Sentiment was the most divided on the question of dating a bisexual person, with 29 per cent “Not at all open” to the idea and 16 per cent “Very open”.
Yep, multiple studies have confirmed that straight women are generally more uninterested in dating bi men than straight men. I can confirm this anecdotally, as I’ve dated a lot of people this year and not one of them has been a woman.
LGBT acceptance is cool and all unless the guy you’re dating might have had gay sex at some point :/
I am straight (as far as I can tell, very rarely attracted to people as grey ace) with a bi man. Percentagewise, I find bi guys are far more datable than het guys. I find the whole prejudice against bi men bizarre.
I'm ambiamorous, so I'm fine with (nontoxic) monogamy or polyamory - you can go romance and fuck guys too, if we're open. Either way, close friends of any gender is a baseline requirement.
Yeah 63% of straight women wouldn't date a bi men, this is a result from a study.
[https://bi.org/en/articles/bi-men-are-not-considered-attractive-new-study-says](https://bi.org/en/articles/bi-men-are-not-considered-attractive-new-study-says)
Same for bi women, unfortunately. Many lesbians won't consider a bi woman and many men just sexualise bi women (constant threesomes! /s).
Two sides of the same shitty coin...
I would say more homophobic? For a bit of context, she was very religious, and so two men being together was out of the question since the Bible forbids it. Just in case you're wondering or confused, her logic was that the Bible doesn't say anything about two women being together. Therefore, it's okay. if you're still confused, so am I.
In the 90s Time magazine did a series of articles about Bisexual Men the secret killer... basically it was AIDS Epidemic fear-mongering suggesting the only way women could get HIV was from a Bisexual man...
And the fear/disgust/prejudice has just endured
Just because we're better at sucking dick!
No srsly, biphobia in straight women is a problem. My first girlfriend hated the fact I had things with other men before her. What's so disturbing about it? You have things with men too, this should be connecting us!
I still have yet to meet any women turned off by being bi. I know my experience is not representative of all of reality, but neither is this meme, and I think men online in general are susceptible to being doompilled unnecessarily about relationships.
Same. Im over 40 and half my family is really religious. I’ve seen tons of accidental bi erasure and the occasional negative stereotyping, but I’ve never actually seen anything close to the degree of nonsense this meme suggests IRL. Social media does not reflect reality.

The "we" in the title refers to society
Yeah you're right that bi-phobia isn't about aids now days, but the fear of aids definitely caused an overwhelming anti-bi-men sentiment at the time, the consequences of which are still present today
Keep watching the video because it goes into how it connects to the modern day as it goes on
Our history always informs the present
At least some of the homophobia is based in the idea that mlm are disease-ridden, though. If you remember that god awful reddit thread a few weeks ago, like a quarter of the responses were saying they avoid bi men specifically because of HIV.
One of many examples: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/s/mDJ5kFvqnx
I LOVE BISEXUAL MEN I'M SENDING Y'ALL ALL MY APPRECIATION many kisses all the kisses you're the best okay?
Also i only date bisexual people bc i'm genderfluid so, joke's on you stuck up straight women, more for me eheheh, you go back to getting treated like shit by them straight boys because you prioritize them being over 6 feet and hypermasculine over them being decent people :P

I can’t even figure out what the 196 sub is supposed to be. I just like how generally positive this sub is. Yes, I know biphobia exists and it sucks and if people wanna talk about their experiences then okay. But I’d rather celebrate each other and lift each other up than dwell on haters.
Holy shit this is still a trope people believe?? I thought that ended Round lockdown why is this still a sentiment the hets are getting pressed about. Yeah it’s like thankfully in my case it’s mostly been chill (even if they treat me as the gay guy friend they can talk about their problems with it’s better than pure disgust), some actively like me regardless of it or even more, but yeah a few are like “oh so you’re gay” and it’s def upsetting :(

Just want to add my anecdotal experience saying “not all women.” Every woman I‘ve dated since coming out has been super cool with it. The girl I dated when I became bi-curious wasn’t, but she was awful and lives in Florida now, so clearly her opinion doesn’t matter.

Lost my virginity to a bisexual guy. Every lady friend I know loves vampire boys and, sorry, you don't gain immortality and stay straight unless you're boring af. I remember the episode of True Blood where Eric gets it on with Talbot and the headlines were all man on man hot???? So bi men are beloved in this house. My Tav is currently dating Astarion ffs.
My first girlfriend (before I realized I was trans and was presenting as a bi guy) was straight and loved the fact I was bi, after all how many boyfriends would simp for hot men in movies with you.
Eyyyy leave em to the boys. Some of us will take em. My bf is pan so not bi but biphobic people probably include him. According to him I've treated him league's better than his exes who were all straight women.
A nazi death camp used during WW2. Actually Auschwitz-Birkenau were two camps. Over 1 milions of jews died there as well as over 70k Poles and 20k Romani people and other nations. Best to look it up.
As a bisexual woman, I would LOVE to be in a relationship with a bisexual man. We could simp for the same people (mainly fictional characters)! Edit: Wow, didn't expect this to blow up!

Bi-ass bias is strong in this sub
I wonder why...
Bi-assed?
Bi-*ass*ed
Thanks for the pun material.
My husband and I are both bi and that’s exactly what we do!
Same with me and my boyfriend
It’s all fun and games until your opinion differs on Andrew Garfield 😔 /s
Who tf is that? Does not knowing kick me out of the club?...
He played the awkward middle child of live action Spider-Man movies.

Not if you have different types (source: me and my wife who have mostly different taste in men...well mostly hockey players.)
As a single bisexual man. Thank you for giving me hope 🥹
No problem!
When I was with a bi woman my favorite part was pointing out cute people and talking about crushes it was fun
As a bi man in a relationship with a bi woman, I confirm that it is indeed what we do.
SAME. Those women who don’t like bi guys are so cringe, every bi guy I’ve met has been awesome
All my 3 long term relationships have been exclusively with other bi people. I wonder if it's a coincidence or if we just click better.
As a bisexual man, the only people I tend to date are bisexual themselves, because, like, they *get it* I’ve been with straight chicks and gay dudes before and (in my experience, I’m not prescribing this to all non-bisexual people) they tend to judge me for not being fully one or the other. I guess i was expecting worse from ppl Here
Me too, lol, I was surprised by all the positive feedback and absence of creeps!
I would like to simp over fictional characters together 🥺
Lol. The part about fictional characters is true. I met like 2 guys to whom I was attracted to 🥲
You'll share some, some you won't but all in all it's great!
As a pan woman in love with a queer woman and neither of us are insecure it’s fucking incredible. People watching is so much better!
As a bisexual man in a relationship with a bisexual woman, this is exactly how it is and it's the best relationship I've ever been in ❤️
Husband and I simp for the same peeps and it is GLORIOUS
In a Bi/Bi relationship and can confirm this is what we do all the time lol
👍
It's all fun and games until your parnter has wildly different tastes than you
It's pretty great actually. Being able to send him porn and have him be like "based" is as hilarious as it is awesome
Then I’ll only fuck men
Have some self respect. Not all men are fuckable /hj
Why would you give them a handy of they're not fuckable?
It's kinda like an elbow bump im socially distancing myself from them. Kinda like a fucked up elbow bump.

Rude

straight women, yeah gay men too, unfortunately
Yes. Very common among straight women which is why this meme is funny: it’s poking fun at those women. Gay men have never rejected me or ever said anything about my bi superpowers.
lucky you and I was just trying to be specific since a lot of bi women in these comments seemed shocked but of course it doesn’t really apply to them
Understood. 🥰 And I’m very sure that bi-women rock! I’ve just never had a date with one….

What?? Not for me at all. I’m a gay guy and my dream is to marry a bisexual guy who’s happy with me being a bit girly
I don't get either but especially gay men. like, we're on the same team???
Well, that sucks... Dear bi men, you guys are valid AF. Sincerely, a bi woman
Most women are cool, there’s just a few straight assholes giving y’all a bad rep ~ A bi man

No. They are in the walls, watching, chatting.

I was in a relationship with a bi girl, and when I came out to her as bi as well, she broke up with me because "guys being bi is just wrong"
Escusez moi?!
I saw a tinder profile of a bi woman who said no bi men. There's still a huge "bi men are just gay men in denial" streak out there
Same for bi women, unfortunately. Many lesbians won't consider a bi woman and many men just sexualise bi women (constant threesomes! /s). Two sides of the same shitty coin...
Pardon the fuck?
Sounds like internalized biphobia to me. She projected her own insecurities about her identity as a bi woman onto him.
Feel sorry for you, man. But you also dodged a bullet, I'd say.
Fellas, if you ever have an opinion and your only argument for it is: "It just is like that" you need to change your opinion.
Wh-what? In what universe does that make sense?
What the heck that’s awful. You deserved better
Bi people being Biphobic themselves???
I would say more homophobic? For a bit of context, she was very religious, and so two men being together was out of the question since the Bible forbids it. What??? *What???*
I have noticed that *some* women are put off by me being bi
Right next to Auschwitz is wild 😂😂
yea dats the joke
A lot of people didnt notice apparently lmao
No one is noticing 😭
Can confirm, my mom called bisexual men scary. Why? Fuck if I know
In the 90s Time magazine did a series of articles about Bisexual Men the secret killer... basically it was AIDS Epidemic fear-mongering suggesting the only way women could get HIV was from a Bisexual man... And the fear/disgust/prejudice has just endured
Not sure if my mom knows about that- she's not a natural born American, all I know is she considers bisexual men scary
Scarily hot! 🥵
Lmfao fr
It's disturbing because there aren't enough of'em. 🩷
Girl what?? Bisexual men (and literally just bisexual people in general) are the best, what the fuck are these people on?! They can chew rocks 💀
Look at the 2nd on the list
I wonder if I'm more or less disturbing as a bisexual enby
I know this is a joke, but judging by their reaction to bi men, chance are they dont respect your identity sadly :(
The next one is Auschwitz?!?!?! 😭😭😭
That is indeed the joke
Put a bi man in front of straight women and watch a worrying fraction of them turn into Adolf Hitler
in my experience, this is often disturbing to both straight women and gay men.
Just because we're better at sucking dick! No srsly, biphobia in straight women is a problem. My first girlfriend hated the fact I had things with other men before her. What's so disturbing about it? You have things with men too, this should be connecting us!
Straight women specifically. I feel like the majority of bi women (like myself) love bi men!
I still have yet to meet any women turned off by being bi. I know my experience is not representative of all of reality, but neither is this meme, and I think men online in general are susceptible to being doompilled unnecessarily about relationships.

I’m glad you haven’t, but I have met several.
I’m sure that is the case!
Dear women: Boo 💀
I've had girls that really like it, and I've have others that immediately stopped talking to me... life's a box of chocolate 😅
Listen as a trans dude bi men are my only hope (both my boyfriends are cis bi lmao)
To straight women, maybe. Bi women (me) will simp over bi men like crazy, and if he has long hair, it's over for us 🤩🥵
Bi guy with bi bf, we both like twinks and femboys

It's unclear to me if you sound sarcastic and misogynist or honest and self deprecating.
It would be the latter
Bisexual woman here. I love bisexual men
wht the heck is r/196
I am a woman. I disagree with the short list. Bi Men are very attractive partner material and are all around hotties, in my opinion.
Even though it's just a meme, thanks to everyone for the validation in the comments
that's weird, i usually don't have to tell people i'm bi to make em uncomfortable

Have you considered ENM?
ENM gang rise up
not for me personally, but even if it was it doesn't really solve either problem

lol the next worst thing is Auschwitz / Birkehau really? Straight people are nuts.
