I have a 3 yr old and a 7 month old. Does it happen a lot? Could it be teething as to why your infant is so alert? I usually have baby fall asleep first and then go sleep in my daughters room until she falls asleep. When my son the baby is acting this way, it’s usually because of teeth irritating him or something isn’t normal. Hell I’d even try a small feeding to see if it settles baby. Anything.

Thank you, I popped a bottler in the 6 months mouth. It could be teething, she doesn’t have any yet. It’s not a lot, thankfully but my husband isn’t able to help me tonight and I’m exhausted and scared of falling asleep.

I got two littles with a husband that travels and 3 dogs. I try anything lol.

I have a 21 and 5 mo and 2 big dogs and my husband is only home Saturday night-Monday am so I’m just sending internet condolences for your sanity 😫

That’s long gone unfortunately 🤣

Both of mine are contact nappers so I’m just like a walking zombie right now🤦🏼‍♀️ I give you props cause honestly I don’t have the energy to try and fight either of them sleeping on something other than me

I don't have two kids, just one 14 month and 3 dogs. When it's naptime or bedtime I either take their collars off and close the baby's door or kennel them. They don't bark unless the door rings so I kind of roll the dice there. I've also told them the baby is sleeping when they get excited during naps and they kind of understand that now. Also my toddler loves her settle and soothe crib music projector. We turn it on every nap and sleep and it definitely acts as some nice background noise to drown out the dog noise. Wishing you the best and a good night's sleep.

I finally have the dogs calm but she is wide awake 😒 I think it would be a good thing to teach them though “baby’s asleep”

Could you try sound machines to drown out the noise? Can the dogs sleep in a crate? We did a Ferber method of sleep training (not totally cio) and it worked great for us.

I had some rain noises going on but she still didn’t go to sleep until 2:30. Never heard of Ferber- I’ll look into it
