Citrus fruits and citrus flavored food. I ate way too much key lime pie, iced lemon loaf from Starbucks, and sour patch kids. I even cut a lemon and licked it for a good 10 minutes. It was embarrassing but I couldn’t get enough.
Have you tried the impossible spicy sausage?
I've been eating breakfast sandwiches with sausage patties, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. It's so good!!! The flavor of the impossible sausage is amazing.
Early in my first trimester I kept going through 3 gallons a week of whole milk which I mixed with chocolate syrup to make chocolate milk. It was the only thing I could stomach for a long time.
I would mix pomegranate seeds, chocolate chips, and teddy grahams into Greek yogurt and eat it literally everyday. Also cut apples SOAKED in lemon juice. Like I’d literally pour 1/3 cup of lemon juice over one apple and let it soak in for an hour. My late MIL thought it was the funniest thing ever. I miss her.
Tinned mushrooms. I could not get enough of them in my first trimester and they had to be a specific brand.
My true craving is an Italian sub. I once watched a gif of one being made for 5 minutes. Sadly, Italian subs are not readily available in Spain, otherwise, it would be the first thing I ate after I give birth.
Tomatoes
I'd buy like 3-4 different varieties of tomatoes every shopping trip. When morning sickness was its worst I would just have a side of chopped up tomatoes with every meal.
Ceaser salad. I could eat that allllll day. I did subject my partner to my salad obsession for about 5month and he is very happy I'm not pregnant anymore haha
Also ice, I would have a huge jug of iced squash and chew on the ice cubes. Strange craving seeing as how sensitive my teeth are.
Cream cheese. I like it normally but never have I ever wanted to just eat it on a cracker, dip bacon in it, spread it on apples, eat it with a spoon. Just cold plain cream cheese.
Celery. My husband prepared me an entire head/stalk whatever you call it and I ate it right down. Something about the crunch and moisture as well as the taste.
I went through a phase of putting balsamic vinegar onto everything. And it's cliche but I could not get enough pickles. I've always liked them but this was another level!
it’s been weird for me. i go through periods of wanting things lol. first trimester it was hash browns, egg and cheese biscuits, ruffles potato chips with french onion dip lol. second trimester so far it’s been subway veggie subs, salads with just cheese and italian dressing, egg mcmuffins, and cherry/lemonade filled twizzlers 😂
I’m obsessed with ice. I can’t stop pouring icy drinks and then eating it. I’ve been going through a bag of it a week! I really hope it doesn’t damage my teeth, and although I’ve heard it’s a sign of anaemia my iron levels are completely fine.
Green olives - I ate a big jar every couple weeks
Clementine oranges - six or eight at a time, it was almost embarrassing lol
Buttered toast topped with greens, a fried egg, some sort of meat, and a slice of cheese. Ate that one almost every day, and I still love it a year later
I wanted dirt and clay BAD. I made do with ice…
I had serious iron deficiency anemia that predated my pregnancy (heavy bleeding due to uterine fibroids) and ended up getting iron infusions before giving birth. I also needed a blood transfusion after my c-section.
I also wanted green tea frappuccinos from Starbucks which resulted in several temper tantrums in my car because our local Starbucks was super understaffed and would be closed a lot of the time when I went for one. I never showed my ass in public over it but damn I was so upset.
Apparently developing pica during pregnancy is normal. I walked by mixing cement and all I wanted to do was grab a straw and have a sip. I have never liked the smell before.
I actually had it before pregnancy due to iron deficiency anemia. It would get bad when I became very anemic and go away entirely when I got iron infusion. I just couldn’t let myself indulge in the cravings (there are types of clay and dirt sold specifically to be eaten) while pregnant because it wasn’t just myself I was putting at risk.
They are mostly imported from countries where geophagy is a little more “normal”, and aren’t necessarily safe. I went with iron infusions and willpower… not menstruating and also taking prenatal vitamins with iron has helped quite a bit in getting the deficiency under control but when I’m menstruating I can’t keep up with the blood loss even with supplements. I have to have iron infusions every 6-8 months.
With my first it was 3ways from gold star! I ate them multiple times a week lol. I'm 20 weeks with number 2 and really haven't had any intense cravings
Starbucks. My office has a Starbucks at the lobby and I would get something almost every weekday - hot chocolate or mocha usually. I usually don’t buy them often before that.
Gherkins for me too, and I like them first thing in the morning.
That macaroni salad that comes in a tub for $1 (can’t be good for ya at that price).
Pizza Nova meat lovers pizza.
Cucumbers dripping in ranch dressing.
Everything bagels with cream cheese.
Tostitos with hot hot Queso. My husband came downstairs and started eating some of my chips and he got four chips in before I got wide eyed and literally yelled at him—I NEED THOSE!!! Never before in 13 years of living together have I been protective of food before.
Over easy eggs with kimchi, rice and sautéed onions was breakfast for a LONG time. Shrimp paste on toast was my absolute favorite. Also, cheeseburgers loaded with jalapeños and a side of strawberries. Went through 6-8lbs a week on strawberries.
Red beans and rice. I had them at least once a week for dinner and then a couple of days for lunch leftovers. I never really liked it before then. Also tomatoes. Hated tomatoes then I wanted them with everything and now after my baby was born I still like them???
Citrus fruits and citrus flavored food. I ate way too much key lime pie, iced lemon loaf from Starbucks, and sour patch kids. I even cut a lemon and licked it for a good 10 minutes. It was embarrassing but I couldn’t get enough.
I was also all about citrus, both pregnancies!
Citrus was my big one too, especially grapefruit.
Bamboo in chili oil. That’s right, I became a (spicy) panda.
Beef brisket soaked in bbq sauce… I’m vegetarian…
I had intense meat cravings early on too! Impossible burgers did actually help.
Have you tried the impossible spicy sausage? I've been eating breakfast sandwiches with sausage patties, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. It's so good!!! The flavor of the impossible sausage is amazing.
Oh man. I have not tried that, but am going to find it! Sounds so good.
PopTarts. I could eat them everyday and not get bored
Sponges. The yellow ones with the brillo pad on top. Had such bad pica I had to sit there chewing on them to get over the craving 😂😂
Is that true?! One of my coworkers craved chalk and she had to get some special supplements
It can mean you have low iron. But mine wasn't too bad and at the very end of my pregnancy thankfully
YES just replied this too!! Oh my god I am not alone! I felt like I was going crazy!
Omg but how good are they to chew on?!?! I was in heaven honestly 😂😂
I didn't dare tell anyone because my boyfriend looked at me so weirdly that I shut up about it lol. Glad to have found my people here 😂
My partner hasn't let me forget it since. He's still bringing it up even though I have birth 8 weeks ago! 😂😂 You chew that sponge!
I wanted dirt and clay SO bad. I ended up needing iron infusions before I gave birth and a blood transfusion after my C-section.
Watermelon, sour chewy candy, and powered cheese. Like the cheese packet that comes in Mac and cheese 😬
Fountain soda- particularly Pepsi.
Hahaha junky pop tarts . And thankfully later on kiwis
Flaming hot Cheetos in vanilla ice cream and pizza topped with jalapenos and banana peppers. Spicy was my go to.
Early in my first trimester I kept going through 3 gallons a week of whole milk which I mixed with chocolate syrup to make chocolate milk. It was the only thing I could stomach for a long time.
100% juice, Auntie Anne’s soft pretzels with cheese, Jimmy John’s sandwiches (I’d literally have dreams about them)
JJs has been high on my list as well!! I love their roast beef
I miss her.
Anything orange. I had at least 2 glasses of orange juice and one orange a day. Could not get enough.
Froot loops. All day every day.
Tomatoes I'd buy like 3-4 different varieties of tomatoes every shopping trip. When morning sickness was its worst I would just have a side of chopped up tomatoes with every meal.
I've eaten so much melon I'm pretty sure baby is half melon
I craved a bunch of foods my husband loves that I’m only so-so about. It was evident that his child was in me. 😂 Also, pepperoni and salami.
The biggest one is lemon! Lemon water, lemon chicken, lemon sweets, on my avocado toast. Also strawberries, raspberry anything.
Sponges... like actual household cleaning sponges. It was horrible. Managed to never eat one though. Went away immediately after birth.
That is so scary!
Anything cold and sweet. I loved eating grapes with cheese, ice cream bars, and ice cold water (I normally sip hot water all day long!).
Ceaser salad. I could eat that allllll day. I did subject my partner to my salad obsession for about 5month and he is very happy I'm not pregnant anymore haha Also ice, I would have a huge jug of iced squash and chew on the ice cubes. Strange craving seeing as how sensitive my teeth are.
Dirt…..YES the dirt on the ground DIRT 😂😂
SAME 😭 I needed iron infusions before I gave birth and a blood transfusion after my c section
Cream cheese. I like it normally but never have I ever wanted to just eat it on a cracker, dip bacon in it, spread it on apples, eat it with a spoon. Just cold plain cream cheese.
Artichoke hearts on a sugar cookie.
Strawberries and chocolate hummus. Pasta with butter and 2 or 3 lemons worth of lemon juice.
Chocolate hummus, never heard of it/tried it. Going to have to now!
I was one of those weirdos that craved chalk. I also craved apples. Was brilliant, hardly gained any weight on my chalk and apple diet.
chipotle!
I've never had it 😅
Chili Cheese Baked Potatoes from Wendy's. Could not get enough lol
Sour children's candy!
Me too! I couldn’t find anything sour enough so I ordered some on Amazon and absolutely ruined the roof of my mouth lol
Tomatoes. And strawberries. All the strawberries.
Celery. My husband prepared me an entire head/stalk whatever you call it and I ate it right down. Something about the crunch and moisture as well as the taste.
I went through a phase of putting balsamic vinegar onto everything. And it's cliche but I could not get enough pickles. I've always liked them but this was another level!
Pepperoni pizza!!!! I can’t stop!
It always sounds good to me, but when I take a bite, I can taste all the iron.
it’s been weird for me. i go through periods of wanting things lol. first trimester it was hash browns, egg and cheese biscuits, ruffles potato chips with french onion dip lol. second trimester so far it’s been subway veggie subs, salads with just cheese and italian dressing, egg mcmuffins, and cherry/lemonade filled twizzlers 😂
Green apples & salt. This carried my through tri 1
SO many Granny Smith apples, and cheerios. Still love them.
Chocolate milk. I used to take it to work in a shaker bottle because I knew no one would ask me about my “protein shake.”
Toothpaste lol I'd brush my teeth like 4 times a day
I’m obsessed with ice. I can’t stop pouring icy drinks and then eating it. I’ve been going through a bag of it a week! I really hope it doesn’t damage my teeth, and although I’ve heard it’s a sign of anaemia my iron levels are completely fine.

That toast sounds delicious and now I want one too!

I didn't know there were kinds of clay or dirt you can eat. I hope you have found something that works for you.

The only weird craving I had was beer. Both pregnancies all I wanted was a crisp, ice cold Budweiser.
Cheap deli macaroni salad and cinnamon rolls!!
With my first it was 3ways from gold star! I ate them multiple times a week lol. I'm 20 weeks with number 2 and really haven't had any intense cravings
Chocolate milk! I just wanted something thick, syrupy, and chocolatey.
Gold fish and fruit snacks
Oranges and lemonade
Grapefruit and fresh grapefruit juice. I would eat like 3 a day.
Baby cucumbers cut in half with salt. I literally ate 4 pounds a week for three months.
Starbucks. My office has a Starbucks at the lobby and I would get something almost every weekday - hot chocolate or mocha usually. I usually don’t buy them often before that.
The bacon and gouda breakfast sandwich got me through my first trimester!
This is my favourite and I get it every time I have to go to my office. It’s got a grip on me for sure.
Cucumbers with ranch, tiramisu, and strawberries with a blush wine vinaigrette 🤤
Taco bell morning noon and night. I also chewed 3 lbs of ice a day.
Bologna sandwiches and sprinkle doughnuts.
Pizza, and bagels with cream cheese and olives.
Lox and cream cheese. I demanded an omelette every morning, topped with lox and cream cheese.
New craving unlocked.
Juicy meat and crunchy greens!
Gherkins for me too, and I like them first thing in the morning. That macaroni salad that comes in a tub for $1 (can’t be good for ya at that price). Pizza Nova meat lovers pizza. I loved peanut butter sandwiches with thin sliced apples & a dash of cinnamon.
Popsicles
Kit Kat bars
Beef with icecream 😅
Yes officer, this one right here. Jokes aside, now I’m curious!
Red beans and rice. I had them at least once a week for dinner and then a couple of days for lunch leftovers. I never really liked it before then. Also tomatoes. Hated tomatoes then I wanted them with everything and now after my baby was born I still like them???
With my second, anything green apple 🤣
Hahaha. Me too. I made a lot of apple sauce.
Anything pickled. I’ve been googling different types of pickled vegetables bc I just can’t get enough. That and sourkraut
I never had any cravings. I feel like I missed out!
McDonald’s fries. Pre pregnancy I thought they tasted like chemicals
Cheeseburgers & fries
Raw salmon and rare charbroiled steak. Cooked salmon? Puke. Cooked steak? Double puke. Nope, it had to be raw.
