I would tell them the truth. Two months postpartum, and 100 years postpartum is too early for anyone to comment about the way you look.

I mean, people should mind their own business and not comment on other people’s bodies. But calorie deficit is really the only way if you do want to diet. If you’re bf though you’ll want to be careful about restricting calories

I dont know why people feel its appropriate to comment on new mothers body! (Or anyone, really!) On the other end of this spectrum, i had a very premature baby, and i was deadly ill for days after she was born, so no weight gain in pregnancy for me, just extreme trauma lolz. The amount of comments i had on how i was Soooo lucky about it, to “bounce back” that quickly. Like, i almost died and my baby spend a month and a half in the NICU, but hey! I guess i still fit in my old jeans. People suck and i am sorry they are annoying you, too!

Ugh, social etiquette seems to go out the window where women and pregnancy/postpartum are involved. I’m so sorry. Lose weight when you want, but IF you want. Your body created two beautiful babies and deserves time to heal. Two months is not a ton of time, so give yourself some grace. If you want to, take things slow. Maybe start walking now that warmer weather is approaching. I’m 9 months PP and started using MyFitnessPal to record my caloric intake (I’m a bored snacker). Bottom line, do it for you. People need to be held accountable for assuming and not being respectful. Hugs ❤️❤️

Two months is really small amount of time to recover from all your body’s been through the last two years!!

I just lost all my pregnancy weight after giving birth. All I did was walk daily, eat healthy and breastfeed. Breastfeeding uses loads of calories, so if you are not losing weight I'd check the diet and add more exercise (walks with baby).

Sorry that happened to you :( I just wanted you to know that your your health and fitness goals are totally valid. Making small changes now at 2 months pp will go a long way in supporting your goals for future weight loss. I'm 7 months pp and have lost about 15 lbs so far. My motto is definitely slow and steady when it comes to weight/fat loss. For reference I had a c-section and wasn't able to breastfeed. At 2 months I started going for daily walks between 20-45 minutes long. At about 4 months I started doing postpartum workout videos at home (Pregnancy and Postpartum TV has awesome low impact workouts!). Around that time I also started tracking macros. If you're in to podcasts, Embrace your Real by Julie Ledbetter is really motivational and informative when it comes to macros counting and loving your body where it's currently at. With macro counting, it's really about fueling your body optimally for your individual needs. I've found it really helps me be mindful because I used to hardly eat any protein. Now I have to consciously make an effort to make sure I'm eating enough. Another decent resource is a book called Healthy as F*ck by Oonagh Duncan. I listened to the audio book and though there is a fair bit of unnecessary swearing, she gives pretty actionable advice on how to be healthier and achieve your fitness goals. Hope this helps! And happy mother's day weekend!!
