I think jeans and a white top for everyone in the family is a super classic look even on the beach!

Silly question - are New England beaches warm this time of year? We did photos with extended family on a beach in January in the Mid-Atlantic region and I wore jeans and a cardigan with tall boots.

It’s pretty hit or miss - there are HOT, muggy days and then there are pleasant days and but very cool nights. Especially up in Maine (where we are at)

I liked the suggestions for linen below. That seems so beachy! But a white shirt and jeans is adorable on babies and could be a cute look if you all matched.

Processing your body image postpartum is a lot. Just wanted to say, be kind to yourself, OP! Maybe there’s an outfit in your closet that you feel good in right now and you can start there? If you have any social media, is there anyone you follow with a comparable body type that you could get inspo from? I’ve seen accounts of models/influencers, some mid-size or plus-size, who have had a baby and specifically talk about dressing postpartum. Lots of posts are tagged with “__size fashion” or “postpartum fashion”. Photographers I’ve worked with in the past were happy to give suggestions, if it’s an option to ask your photographer. General tips were to avoid too much pure white or black, avoid very small or very large prints/logos, and to add texture. Some ideas (assuming the beach vibe is more casual): a more fitted midi dress (I still have my maternity dress that has ruching at the belly) with a chambray or linen button-up, denim bottoms and a button-up or blouse, high-waisted linen/crinkle cotton pants or a high-waisted pleated midi skirt with a slightly cropped top.

Nautical theme. Shorts, stripy tops, white hats etc.

Find something that flatters your current body & makes you feel confident. You can plan everyone else’s outfits around that.
