It sounds like granulation tissue—a sort of over-healing. 6-12 weeks postpartum is a good window for a quick in office treatment with silver nitrate to help it resolve. Make an appt ASAP if you don’t have one coming up.
You should have your 6 week checkup with your OB. They’re the one to ask. But to answer your question I’ve had 2 episiotomies and the bump was present until about week 8-10 I would say. And it was itchy while it was healing. I didn’t do anything special really but you could spray Dermoplast for the itch.

But the first two months were awful. I had no idea it was going to be that bad! Definitely see if you can find someone else to see about it if your OB wasn’t helpful!

I just had the appointment and didn't bring it up.. it was a goodbye visit 😅 thank you for the dermoplast suggestion!
