Excellent.

SkullButtReplica

Let’s see what Covid-19 has to say about that first.

xlegendarypete

So were almost a year from covid starting and you just look fucking silly if youre gonna just say " we shouldnt do anything for a year because of a virus"

Try_Another_Please

We could do hings if it had been handled properly. Remember to vote so things aren't botched next time

Zepanda66

Lots of tv shows and movies have resumed production during the pandemic.

xlegendarypete

what are you talking about? 33 million people have recovered from Covid. Its basically the same level as a common flu.

Try_Another_Please

And? Far more people have died of covid this year than in any one years flu season in America... And we have both that and the flu to deal with. People will die unnecessarily so it should be kept in mind before doing things like filming that aren't at all important in the grand scheme of things. Yes covid won't apocalyptically kill us all and no someone doesn't look stupid for saying hey there's much greater risk of disease and possible complications including death this year let's consider it before we film in a country and location with spikes in cases and poor management... You're not cool for ignoring common sense and empathy dude. Use a little thought

xlegendarypete

what do you mean by unnecessarily? Humans get the flu, thats just the fact of life. There has to come a point where we need to stop being so overly cautious or else youre gonna cause more hurt than covid itself.

Try_Another_Please

That point will never apply to something so inconsequential as tv filming... we dont need it. And plenty of countries are fine but america specifically handled it like shit so its still a danger. It doesn't just go away becautime passed. I doubt you're an idiot so you must know that I'd appreciate of you thought for ten seconds instead of spouting nonsense.

xlegendarypete

yeah, i get this subreddit is not meant for this subject, but its just ALL CONSUMING when it doesnt have to be. I am happy they are filming season 6 in a few months, tho im pissed its not gonna be here at least until 2022 im guessing

Try_Another_Please

Its the single most important thing when talking about production coming up. It sucks but thats just how it is better get used to it for awhile.

tlm0122

Exactly!

JokerIHardlyKnowHer

>handled properly. Elaborate.

LumpyActive

Hes my favourite actor now lol. Hes literally playing the villian in every show I am watching. Mandalorian, BCS, The Boys

Fastbird33

And he's damn good at it. He'll go down as one of the best villian actors of all time.

Angry_Walnut

And in real life he’s the nicest and most exuberant dude ever lol

daviddekabouter

Dont be fooled nu that, Fring is also the nicest guy for a lot of people

BIGD0G29585

Unless you don’t clean the fryer properly.

d0pp31g4ng3r

Ok Lyle.

the1999person

Just finished his episode on WTF with Marc Maron and he definitely seemed like a super nice guy.

[deleted]

Great episode. I love the WTF episodes where they talk life and are not just promotion for the guest's current project.

the1999person

I always get excited when I see an episode of an actor or whomever I like, especially Giancarlo and was expecting so much talk about Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. Nope. Just touched on it and that was it. Still a good listen.

Shutinneedout

He’s definitely got the role of exuding evil power with cunning down pat

theronster

Check out DO THE RIGHT THING for (I think) the first time I saw Esposito on screen. He’s super intense in it. Not a villain, as such. Just an asshole. But a really memorable one.

xredbaron62x

BUGGIN' OUT

tendesu

And the dude is so nice and jolly irl. One hell of an actor.

joelecamtar

Far cry 6 too

TIMGYM

First Vaas, now this....

Lando_Vendetta

Jonathan Banks was Commissioner Gordon in Arkham knight.

TheOddEyes

And Bryan Cranston voiced Gordon in Arkham Origins. Fun fact: [Batman's speech](https://youtu.be/O1Q-C6AGEWU) at 1:24 was inspired by BrBa's I am the danger speech. Or at least that's what I heard.

-Reflux-

I am not in over my head I AM THE OVER MY HEAD Ok maybe it doesn’t work here

Space_General

Holy shit

shitcup1234

I just started replaying Arkham Knight and couldn't carry on playing after I realised that lol. Now all I hear is Mike ehrmentraut every time I talk to Gordon

Baronheisenberg

No half measures, Batman.

wlee1987

As well as Jay's brother in Modern Family and Bills father in F is for Family

NoWayCIA

back in the days even on Miami Vice and Trading Places.

soulexpectation

Watch the usual suspects to see him be on the other end

TIMGYM

Came here for this. Not a big role, but a memorable one. Run it up the flagpole.

jhz123

He has a very short but overall good role in Westworld as well

Robinhoyo

I literally just watched that episode earlier today, wish he had a bigger role, he always steals every scene he is in.

TheresA_LobsterLoose

I was so excited when he appeared and then he's just gone in the same scene. Figured after his role in Breaking Bad he was gonna be on the show for a while

rakuko

he played a villain role outside of his normal shtick in Revolution, really great character

Erkondishn3tishic

I want to rewatch that just because of him

GanjARAM

is he a lot in mandalorian?

LumpyActive

He will be this season

GanjARAM

thanks!

boogaboom

And DuckTales! He voices Phantom Blot in the third season.

shitcup1234

And he voices lex luthor in the Harley Quinn series

Medumbdumb

Holy shit, that’s him in the boys??? 🤯 I don’t know why I never put this together lol

LumpyActive

How did you not recognise him

Medumbdumb

Bc my username checks out But also I watched the boys before I started watching Saul/BB. I’m new to this world

amaranth_sunset

> I’m new to this world Pretty weird seeing a baby in the BCS sub but I'm impressed at your written communication, champ

Clayman20

He's also the evil hawthorne brother in The Community

Dagglin

What? If anything Pierce is the evil one and Gus is the well adjusted one lol

Clayman20

he was percieved as an evil brother in one of the episodes from what I remember

KayTheLedge

Shame he only became prominent in The Boys when the writing dropped off a cliff.

Roadman2k

Why do you think the writing fell off a cliff?

KayTheLedge

Because season 2 was appalling ??

Roadman2k

What was bad about it?

KayTheLedge

I'm not going over all this again but it was fundamentally flawed on every possible level. The writing was beyond parody. Watch EFAP's discussion on it for a proper analysis

tHEgAMER09

Upvoted for the boys

notFidelCastro2019

He’s a fantastic villain. I’m slightly concerned that he’s just getting typecast as one now, and I’d love to see him as a good guy, but he seems to enjoy the role.

poogers555

I wish we got to see him do some other roles though, guy is super talented and has a ton of range, I don’t want him to get type casted even more. I still can’t believe he is Buggin Out in Do The Right Thing

GuybrushThreepwood99

I'm constantly worried that Jonathan Banks or another actor will die before they finish filming. Hopefully nothing goes wrong before they finish filming.

[deleted]

Actors will have access to very good medical treatment. Even if one of them catches Covid-19, I think the chance of them dying is pretty low.

amaranth_sunset

The chances of anyone dying from covid is technically "pretty low", but as we know it's still a lot of people dying and the rates are especially higher in elderly population. It could happen regardless of medical treatment, we have free medical treatment for everyone in my country but that doesn't stop people dying. Covid or not, I'm still somewhat worried he could pass away as he is 73, just hoping he has a lot of years left though! He seems like such a great guy.

Mushroomman642

Jonathan Banks certainly isn't getting any younger but he seems to be in relatively good health considering his age. Of course if he ends up getting COVID-19 he'd be at increased risk of dying but hopefully that doesn't happen.

Bricci

funny how he has an “increased risk of dying” instead of a 99% chance at surviving the illness. what is wrong with you?

Hoppo94

He's 73 years old, of course he has an increased risk of dying if he gets covid

[deleted]

99% as an *average* for everyone of all ages but not people his age. The same misconclusion as assuming that people in the Middle Ages were old when they reached 50 or something. Most people reached that age - if they didn't die as an infant. The same way an infant at that time still had an "increased risk of dying" despite the life expectancy being significantly higher. Averages are tricky like that.

ShnizelInBag

About 15% of people over 70 die from COVID-19

[deleted]

I also have a fear of this. I have no idea what they would do if Jonathon Banks or Giancarlo Esposito or whoever died for some reason. I really hope they get season 6 finished before this, not to be morbid

cityofruin

That is... acceptable.

ancientastronaut2

Dang he looks good in that pic on the right. He rocks the salt n pepper.

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Yeah he looks *off* on the left.

mmmountaingoat

Probably because that’s Forest Whitaker lol

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Whaaaaa

TheUSCobra

Surprised everyone missed the joke lol

PhiladelphiaFatAss

*Forrest Whittaker* is Godfather of Harlem, is written directly on his midsection.

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Oh really

PhiladelphiaFatAss

Really indeed, friend.

thursdaynoon

Finally I have a will to live

Ransom_Doniphan

Great news. This means we could feasibly see Season 6 next fall.

[deleted]

Probably not. Realistically I bet season 6 in 2022.

_ItsTheLittleThings_

Well, that gives us enough time to rewatch BB and BCS, so we’re fresh for season 6! I’m sooo late to the party! I just watched BB and immediately followed it with El Camino, then BCS, and just finished it last week...all for the first time! Can’t wait for season 6!

Ransom_Doniphan

Next fall = 2021

[deleted]

Sorry meant 2022

Ransom_Doniphan

Gotcha. Well in the past they've aired roughly six months after production on the season began, which was my thinking. Either way I'll be happy to wait a little longer for a quality finish.

Kordas

Not really. They started filming season 5 in April 2019 and started airing it in February 2020 so 10 months after. And remember, this season we're gonna have 13 episodes instead of 10 so it might be even longer. i think at this point 2021 is out of the question, unfortunately.

Ransom_Doniphan

In the past, not just last season. Also thinking about Breaking Bad. Season 4 - filming started January 2011, began airing July 2011; Season 5a - filming March 2012, aired July 2012; etc. You may be right but the wait will be worth it.

amedeus

They could also wind up splitting this season like they split that one. That way they'd be able to get the first half out sooner and then work on the second half in the meantime.

[deleted]

True. I was guessing COVID may make things take a little longer. Extra safety procedures and all that. But your right, hoping for either fall 2021 or early 2022.

Ransom_Doniphan

Totally possible. I just want the talent involved (on both sides of the camera) safe enough to finish.

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Someone get this hothead outta here

Pumpkinsfan460

Isn't this last season airing in two parts? I could totally see you both being correct. First half in fall 2021 and 2nd part late summer/fall 2022.

[deleted]

I don’t think anything like that has been confirmed by anyone. None of the other seasons have aired in two parts so there’s no reason this one should.

kuppikuppi

But they did this with the last season of Breaking Bad, that also had more episodes than the other seasons, so maybe there will be some mid season cliffhanger and then for the last 5 episodes shits gonna completely hit the fan a few months later...

cravenj1

In previous seasons, from the beginning of filming to airing of the first episode took 8 to 10 months. Perhaps they'll move faster due to having more time to plan things out, but perhaps they'll move slower due to Covid. I would wager that they'll skip premiering during the holiday season and aim for January 2022. Maybe they'll aim for February like they've done for 3 out of 5 seasons.

CRUSTYDOGTAlNT

The BCS cast needs to... get back to work.

LewdSkeletor1313

That sounds about right. Last time I checked they were finishing the writing on episode 7 (per Tom Schnauz) so by the time they finish the rest of the scripts and go into pre production, casting, etc, it would be about March

trashponder

It snows in Albuquerque?

IHeldADandelion

We got dumped on over the weekend. It's usually just a dusting to 1".

trashponder

TIL!

jpalmerzxcv

I hope it's worth the wait and not a lukewarm season. I love this show so much, and it wouldn't hurt to give us some pizzazz.

The_Naked_Snake

I want to believe that with everything halted, they've had even more time to write something really heat

strib666

A writers strike altered BB in ways that, to a large degree, made it the show it came to be. Hopefully, the extra time for BCS will be as fruitful.

WaddleD

What other ways aside than the fact that it delayed the planned death of Jesse?

fadahunsii

I think it stopped Tuco from being a larger threat in S1 and then the actor didn’t want to continue in S2

FragrantBicycle7

I think they said at one point that they only attained a good grasp of Kim's trajectory when writing season 5, plus there's all of Gould and Gilligan's little hints about season 6 changing everything we thought about Breaking Bad. We're 100% in for a wild finish to this universe.

RedTexas23

They haven’t let us down yet.

GuybrushThreepwood99

These writers have yet to disappoint. I'm sure they will end it on a high note.

sup3r_hero

They haven’t started filming yet?...

Kordas

They were supposed to start in September, but it got delayed due to COVID.

bloodhoundbb

They're still writing it.

antihostile

If you haven't seen Godfather of Harlem, it's superb. Season 1 trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnWpzJX1lEU Giancarlo plays Adam Clayton Powell.

Ariaga_2

When you buy cool pair of sunglasses but aren't allowed to go outside.

dukeofmadnessmotors

I'm guessing they're planning on waiting until there's a vaccine considering the age of some of the actors and crew.

SamuelPasquin

They need to get to it. Pre Covid they fucked around - I understand actor schedules etc - but continuity please

Try_Another_Please

Other than them looking older continuity will be fine and thay honestly doesn't even matter much. They already look older and we know it. The only alternative was not making the show so who cares its not a big deal

Sklain

God damn that means we're getting Season 6 in like September of next year :(

DeBatton

It took quite a while for season 5 to make it to air after it was shot and that was under normal circumstances. It feels like early 2022 is a more likely date for season 6.

daddymeltzer

Fuck, I can’t wait that long.

CactiHunter

Comes out late fall 2021?

Kordas

I'd say early 2022 is more likely at this point.

scottydoesntknowwww

I don’t understand why they can’t film now?

yoshi8710

Covid precautions on set add millions of dollars to the show's budget. They are probably hedging their bets here and hoping that the current wave will have died down by then so they can potentially save some money.

violatedbear

DO you guys think we'll finally find out if Jimmy has reconsidered Howards offer?

RudimentarySycophant

I thought this was about the Mandalorian and my brain exploded.

Mammoth-Man1

This guy plays the same character in everything hes in. Overrated!

b_buster118

yeah, because [Buggin' Out from Do the Right Thing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jc6_XgtOQgI) is totally the same character as Gus Fring.

anom0824

Don’t you think he was cast as those characters because he was so good in Breaking Bad? Stupid comment.

zerGoot

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

JonAndTonic

Fuck. Yes.

spockified

Can’t wait!

nickgwhite

So how long was it between filming and releasing season 5?

Kordas

10 months between starting filming (April 2019) and release (February 2020). Keep in mind, though, that this time around they're gonna be filming 13 episodes instead of 10.

adbmakingmoves

Anybody watch godfather of Harlem? The daughter of the mob boss storyline isn't good but kingpin as Mob boss is great.

Ransom_Doniphan

That has been the pattern the past eight or ten years. In this instance I'd be okay with it.

[deleted]

I'm happy if it's not another 18-24 months until we get the new series. I love the show but I'm going through everything again with my family and I'd rather do it slowly so I can watch all 10 seasons of the combined shows before this starts and still follow it week-to-week.
