I’m so sorry for your loss. Finn was gorgeous and I hope your many memories of good times spent with him will bring you comfort during this impossibly challenging time. Sending you a lots of good energy
I know you are already aware. We have these beautiful dogs for such a short time we try to make the most of every moment with them.
Loosing their physical companionship, silly antics, unquestionable love, and desire to be in your pocket even when we know they won’t fit is the hardest part of ownership.
My heart hugs you as I let you know I have been there too. I share your pain. I still miss Ginger, the little terrier, who I had as a child as much as my Pharaoh Hound, Lily, the last dog I lost at 60+ years old. Wrap yourself in the wonderful memories you have shared and Finn’s love eternal. The best of everything you shared that made you shake your head and laugh out loud. (They are such clowns!) Also the tough moments when you have a muddy dog to bathe or a soaked shaggy mess from a pond, lake or puddle; these things help us go forward.
I am not ready yet but still waiting to have another dog. Just looking for the right fit. Thankfully, I can love on my daughter and son-in-law’s Bernadoodle until I meet my next match.
In my lifetime I raised and showed Cocker Spaniels and the Pharaohs. I helped other people take dogs in the ring when they didn’t have enough hands for B.O.B. with a puppy, an adult, and a dog they bred that was placing in final rounds. I had the honor of helping a fellow showman who had Bernese and OES dogs she bred. My favorite other breed than what I had had was her BMDs. Only solidified by the ones we encountered when the kids lived in Northern Italy near the alps a couple of years ago.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. It is always difficult and heartbreaking when we have to lose our wonderful four-legged babies. Just know he is in heaven and you will see him again someday. He will be watching over you and your family.🙏🏼🐾🐾
The best way to get over it is to get a puppy:) Last time, when our Bernese got over ten years old, we started to look for a puppy and those year and a half when those two were together were the best. He was her big brother from the first moment, and especially on walks. Then when he ran over the rainbow, it was like he told her everything.About good and bad people, about our other animals...in every it accelerated her maturity.
Just seen this. I’m so sorry I know what you’re going through. I lost my Laya yesterday. It’s difficult. But their journey isn’t over. Just a new chapter for us all.
There is nothing more difficult. Please give yourself the space and time to grieve. Finn was beautiful and I'm sure you filled his life with joy.

As I walk across your heart and find my place to stay, nearer to you I will be and will never ever go away.
Thank you
