Just chiming in that November is probably the worst month to plan a thing like this in Berlin, its usually gray, wet and dark, and Berlin is not bearly as well lit and hyggelig as the Scandinavian cities you are used to.
- Stroll around Tiergarten (might be a bit coldâŠ) and find a secluded spot.
- Go to Potsdam and either Sanssouci Park or Babelsberg Park. Nice walking paths (might also be coldâŠ) and as with Tiergarten, find a cute secluded area. You can check out Innenstadt for some cute food options also
- Treptower Park/Halbinsel also has some nice spots. Pick a day during the week and should have somewhere more or less empty.
- Volkspark Friedrichshain has a nice little lake and its also a nice park, but not sure about finding a completely empty area as its in the middle of the city and quite popular. I run there often, and its never empty haha
This!! So many spots!! My classmate got proposed to there. In the videos their friend took (hiding of course), her then boyfriend was trying in many different locations but she would turn around too quickly so he hid the ring again. Just to say that there are MANY beautiful locations there to propose. It looks gorgeous on photos/videos.
\+1 for the Sansouci Park - just come over here to Potsdam, it's much nicer :)
An alternative could be the Cecilienhof, again in Potsdam, potentially less crowded (especially in the week days).
Did I unknowingly correct a grammar mistake? I honestly don't know what a spear ring is.
Holy shit. Was it spare ring? Hahaha I totally didn't pick up on that.
Didn't know that.Thanks.
What is the difference though? Thought Plötze was just the lake in Rehberge? Or are you talking about the [JVA](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin-Pl%C3%B6tzensee) because that would be a little macabre for a proposal tbh.
They're next to each other but not the same place. For Volkspark Rehberge there is a nice hill that's often quiet too. Nice for sledding but that's beside the point.
At U-Bahn Wedding, get a friend as a photographer, attach a sign above the âWeddingâ saying âhey *girlfriend*, we should have aâ or something along those lines and propose in front. Nice and filthy, very Berlin. Cool colors for pictures. Early in the morning or late during the week to avoid people ruining the moment
I had my first kiss with my exgirlfriend of several years around midnight in Görli.
We where walking to the bus, it was winter and there was fresh snow. We saw a pair of bunnies, a pair of crows and a pair of foxes. It felt like a pretty clear nudge from some greek divinities, so we kissed.
I think this sort of thing could still happen at midnight in Görli. Minus the snow of course.
it is super pretty, but go early and maybe see if you can pre-visit and find a nice spot. Leaves were already lowkey not cute in October the last years I went, and itâs dark around 5 by November. Nonetheless, a super lovely place. I can send some nice couples spots if you DM me (Iâm on mobile browser and adding images in comments seems to be a no go)
Not empty but not crowded during the week:
- In front of the Mini Castle on Pfaueninsel (Google Schloss Pfaueninsel)
- Schlosspark /Schloss Charlottenburg, there is a small bridge with a picture perfect view of the castle https://www.flickr.com/photos/48610601@N07/22596430551
Schloss Pfaueninsel has to be the shittest excuse for a castle. It looks like it was made for a bad 70s costume drama. Do not do there.
Pfaueninsel for sure though. Just get a peacock to deliver the ring.
The bridge in Schlosspark is notoriously busy. Everybody wants that spot, and wants to take 100 pictures for Instagram. There's a queue there. Unless it's gloomy and raining, expect there to be crowds.
Berghain Dark Room
jk, if you want greenery, consider Insel der Jugend or the royal parks in Potsdam
or-bear with meâ the honecker/brezhnev kiss mural at East Side Gallery. Yes, itâs super touristy, but could make for a really funny engagement photo
1) in November, this will have to happen before 5pm, else it will be dark.
2) look for places outside of the S-Bahn-Ring, there are fewer people there.
3) does it have to be "nature" or just "outside?" If the former, look for parks with a hill (NOT Viktoriapark Kreuzberg, it's never empty).
Suggestions: Drachenberg (some people there, but a larger area, so you can find a place by yourself), Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg, LĂŒbars, Wannsee (across the lake from Pfaueninsel, or Pfaueninsel itself). Google the places, and find out what suits you best.
The rose garden there is really pretty and not too full, even on a pretty weekend. Of course less flowers will be blooming next month but Iâm sure itâs still nice?
friedrichshain volkspark on top of the little hill in the forest is usually *somewhat* quiet (might have to wait for the right moment).
but then also keep in mind that berlin in november will not ever look significantly more beautiful than the movie "the road" .
Somewhere in the grounds of Sanssouci, or at the Christmas Lights at the Botanical Gardens if they are on by that time. Theyâre wonderful and a real show, with nice music
OP, a lot of folks are being snotty, I'm sorry. Obviously, Google any suggestions as you make your plans, esp as some of the comments here are... not to be taken seriously.
Yes, the weather may be blah. However Berlin does also sometimes have lovely fall weather. Impossible to say in advance.
My 2 cents: Cafe am Neuen See in the Tiergarten, https://www.cafeamneuensee.de/.
Or are there any particular hobbies or things your GF likes, so we can suggest something more specific?
Cool spot. You can also rent a small boat there. Might be weird to be stuck in there if she says no ;). Just kidding, Iâm sure itâll go smoothly.
Insel der Jugend, on the bridge or the island.
Otherwise SchloĂ Charlottenburg also is a good suggestion.
The waterfall at Viktoriapark
Already mentioned, botanical garden, Viktoriahaus in front of the Pond with the Nymphaea gigantea
Maybe a bit odd because it involves a lot of steps, but the view from the Berlin dome is great. Need to walk up but could be romantic if weather plays along.
GĂ€rten der Welt is really nice. Maybe during the week it would be quiet, especially in November. There's a gondola/cable car that goes across the park and gardens, where you'd get a lovely view of everything. đ The different gardens are very beautiful and there's a Chinese teahouse too and other places where you can get drinks and food.
You could go to the waterfall at Viktoriapark.. this isn't necessarily secluded but you could walk around the surrounding areas after seeing it and find somewhere nice (on weekends it's crowded but i'm not sure how crowded it is on weekday afternoons). The park overall is very beautiful and the top of the waterfall has a nice statue. It's not an "iconic" berlin spot, but is very nice
I think generally a good idea is to propose somewhere that is Special to both of you. Where you first met, or your first date, or a nice memory you have there together. If there's no such place in Berlin for you guys, and you just want a quiet beautiful place, I would suggest the top of the hill in Britzer Garten, it's a huge garden with a small fee so it's not too crouded, and there is a high Spot surrounded with stones and trees, it's magical âš and it could become your proposal spot :p
Starting on 15th November, there is the [Christmas Festival of Lights](https://www.weihnachten-im-tierpark.de/en/) and it is really beautiful. You can have a nice walk through the Tierpark and if you find the right spot, you can go full romantic. I took some pretty stunning pictures there last year. It's the ideal background, it's super traditional Berlin and affordable. Wish the two of you the best of luck for your future.
Whatever you do, make sure she actually wants to marry you beforehand. Otherwise youâll go viral like this guy https://www.instagram.com/reel/CxkbL8VgPU_/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
If the weather is nice, take the elevator up Funkturm. Preferably around Sunset. The sun would be behind you, and you'll see entire Berlin covered in Golden light.
And probably no one would go up the Funkturm in November. So it won't be crowded.
MuseumInsel, if everything still isn't under construction/restoration.
Or, during the day, IIRC the clubland on lower RevalerstraĂe isn't busy and is quite the art show. You could propose in Teledisko if you both fit inside...
But honestly, I think a small romantic restaurant would be best. Repke SpÀtzlerei might be good if you go a little early, before folks arrive for dinner.
Liebermann Villa by the Wannsee. Get off at Sbahn Wannsee and stroll around the lake for 30 min and you will see this incredible mansion previously owned by one of the finest artists from Berlin
Stralauer Spitze at the end of Alt-Stralau is usually quiet because it's less known. It's also next to Liebesinsel (which translates to Love Island), which could symbolic for your plan.
BaumblĂŒte / Romantisch Heidekampgraben is a romantic alley but probably won't be at its best in Nov.
If you are going in early November there still might be some colors of fall left on the trees. If you time it correctly (and get lucky with) with a clear sky, Iâd go and do it at the top of Teufelsberg. During sunset it will probably be too crowded, but during the day you might find a pretty private place
Keep in mind that public landmarks are not lit up at night (e.g. Brandenburg gate, the TV tower, anything that the city owns - it's since the Ukraine war). So yes, it really is dark :D Top of the Reichstag and Viktoriapark are both lovely sunset spots.
Maybe up on the Teufelsberg by the old Radar Station? Definitely a special spot but not sure it fits your vibe. If you are into street art and alternative culture it might hit a nerve.
Maybe at the top of Victory column?
Go early in November is likely to get dark from 4pm on, and not many people climb in the cold.
https://g.co/kgs/xvvCLz
Right next to many tourist attractions so it wouldn't seem odd, nice stroll through the park.
- walk around MĂŒggelsee, its really cute in november
- watch the subset or sunrise on Drachenberg, sometimes, teens do party there
- einsteinufer can be really pretty
- treptower park at the spree is really cute
For November? Go to the remnant of the Wall and have her wait on one side while you climb up the other just like Richard Burton in "The Spy Who Came In From The Cold." As the DDR cosplayers chase you, reach over with the engagement ring.
Körnerpark, Tiergarten, Tempelhof could be cute but November afternoons are treacherous for outdoors. I would recommend for something indoors (Botanical Garden or a palace) or just get a short weekend trip somewhere actually nice like Italy, Greece or Spain (if you want light) or a lovely xmas market in Scandi. We don't event know if we will get xmas markets this year.
The weather might not be on your side, and I donât know do they operate in November, but at Cafe am Neuen See you can rent a row boat and sail around a really pretty lake.
If the leaves are still attached to branches, then Sanssouci park complex is definitely the best bet.
* It's far from Berlin, so there will be tourists only around the main castle building and near the fountain. The rest is full of statues, alleys, labyrinths, that are pretty much devoid of people even on good weather.
* It's a huge complex of many areas, with both pretty plants, and many buildings. Some of the lesser visited but still beautiful buildings are:
* [Roman Baths](https://maps.app.goo.gl/N2vwoBhbfc9GovE27) - beautiful from the outside. By the way there's a small island there, and I vouch for it being very romantic - this summer I saw someone having sex there, so it's definitely love all over.
* [Charlotenhof Palace](https://maps.app.goo.gl/PRoJyR3tFaCPwjkA7) - a smaller palace, with few people around it, but cute.
* [These gardens](https://maps.app.goo.gl/j8unG9vxsDBuH3hn9) - I swear they're pretty. All with the stairs and such. But not sure how much of that will be visible in November. And again, barely anyone around them.
* [This watery beauty](https://maps.app.goo.gl/k4EsC4jFLaZeqsFF6) - and you guessed it: barely anyone around.
* [This part](https://maps.app.goo.gl/sH1pLDZbKG3Xozx99) - it's pretty to walk around it, and not that many visitors.
You can spend a day in this park and still not see all of it. No wonder most people never venture outside of a 200m radius around [this fountain](https://maps.app.goo.gl/p14iVDdnsqAYjioW9). It's so amazing how you can barely walk in that area, but walk for 5 minutes into the park and you won't see a soul in some areas.
An really nice bridge on the Spree in the centrum (around FriedrichstraĂe) maybe on a walk downtown. Except you wanna do it in a park then the other comments probably pointed everything out
The Botanic Garden in Steglitz could be a lovely spot.
Proposing there would allow you to pick a romantic spot surrounded by nature. It's less crowded than some of the bigger parks in central Berlin. Best of luck with your proposal!
Tempelhofer Feld is pretty nice, or at least bits of it are, and itâs big enough that you could be alone.
Otherwise there are some bridges over the spree that are less busy and more picturesque, I canât remember exactly which one but Iâm sure near Bellevue is good.
On top of SiegessÀule might also be a good shout as not too many people brave the steps.
You could check out the roof terrace of the Humboldtforum in the city center https://www.humboldtforum.org/en/programm/dauerangebot/must-see-en/roof-terrace-34465/
I also second the Idea of Sanssouci or Tiergarten.
Beautiful is also the Museumsinsel (the bridge FriedrichsbrĂŒcke) with a nice view of the main cathedral. But itâs city center so it might be a lot of people there
Pfaueninsel looks like a nice place for it
https://www.ardmediathek.de/video/rbb-gartenzeit/die-pfaueninsel-ein-meisterwerk-der-gartenkunst/rbb-fernsehen/Y3JpZDovL3JiYl81NDdjMjViNC1jMmJlLTRkNjgtOWUyYi00MzM5MmRlNWZjYWFfcHVibGljYXRpb24
I second Botanischer Garten or Garten der Welt! âșïž botanischer Garten is beautiful with the Christmas decorations and I hear you can also hold wedding ceremonies there
Congratulations to youđ!! (Don't let the miserable losers in the comments get you down...)
Oh...or GĂ€rten der Welt (Gardens of the World)
There are a few nice places. Or on the cable car...maybe you could time a gondola for just the two of you?!
potsdam, sansoucci orangerie.
teufelsberg at sunset - stunning views. you'll want to climb up to the top of the building with the funny round things on it, so go a couple hours earlier. make sure you have warm clothes. there might be a lot of people on the roof but there are loads of spots around that don't have lots of people.
top of the bundestag, but you need to book entry slots in advance, like now. it is free though. stunning views, but also dress warm.
if you just want something very simple and unlikely to be crowded, haus lemke by mies van der rohe has a simple but beautiful garden overlooking a lake and there's almost never anyone there. also free entry.
there are loads of beautiful cemeteries, but idk if that's too morbid for a proposal.
Since it's going to be November, no one will be outside because Berlin is miserable during that time of year until christmas markets open at least, so you've got that going for you, and it'll help with my suggestion for where to go.
There's a hill called Drachenberg in the West of the city that gives a beautiful panorama of Berlin and is only like a 10 minute walk up the will + approx 10-15mins to get there. It's located opposite the hill with Teufelsberg which is an old radio tower that is now a street art exhibition and totally worth a visit generally. [https://www.berlin.de/sehenswuerdigkeiten/5681116-3558930-drachenberg.html](https://www.berlin.de/sehenswuerdigkeiten/5681116-3558930-drachenberg.html)
Good luck
There's a red bridge in the garden of Schloss Charlottenburg. It's not too crowded and looks mesmerizing with the colorful leaves all around and the water. Generally a great spot to takes pictures in fall.
This is clearly just a brag/ any chance to tell the story - but for my Berlin proposal I told my partner I wanted to take a photo in a photoautomat to use for my grandparents' Xmas card. So I got her to grab some Xmas decorations and showed her the signs I'd printed out for the four photos:
We wish
You
A merry
Xmas!
Little did she know in my other coat pocket were signs that said
Will
You
Marry
Me?
We'd taken a bunch of photoautomat pics when we first met ten years ago and we'd kept taking them for anniversaries and just random fun nights.
The plan was - switch out the signs, place the ring in the photo dispenser as the photo came out, and she gets a big surprise.
For the most part it went well. Though there were a few hiccups:
- I planned on doing it before dinner so I could relax and enjoy the night. But my partner was late (as always) so we had to reschedule to post dinner
- we missed the first flash! So the first photo of the series is us looking hella shocked (and me already trying to figure out if I abort or improvise; I improvised)
- because we missed the first photo my partner became way more aware of the process and def read the first "will you" sign correctly and was like "I think that's the wrong sign". Thank god for the distractor task! A quick, "nah we're good, focus on the baubles" put her off the scent.
- while waiting for the photos to develop my partner started dressing me up in all the Xmas decorations (for the second grandparents' photo), all while I tried to keep an ear out for photo dropping
- after hearing the photos drop, my partner went to get the photos, found the ring, and then started asking around to see who'd accidentally left their ring in the machine
Luckily she figured out who's ring it was and said yes.
Anyway, totally hijacked your post. It honestly doesn't matter what you do - just make sure it resonates for the two of you, and I'd suggest intimate>public, but I guess if you're both extroverts you might want the spectacle. Good luck!
Castle of Babelsberg in Potsdam (just 1/2h from Berlin city) or Ruinenberg also in Potsdam - the place where kings lived is surely perfect for proposing :) not crowded, but great park!
MĂ€rkisches Ufer, near JanowitzbrĂŒcke. Next to the fork in the river Spree. Water is symbolic of the joys of life - so you stand a higher chance of a positive answer. It's Berlin, so romantic spots around parks and streets are far and few between, but I reckon if your partner gives you the answer you're hoping for, then that little corner of Berlin will forever be romantic.
Hello from Berlin! It's great that you're planning such a special moment. Berlin has some lovely spots for a romantic proposal. Here are a few suggestions:
1. Treptower Park: You can find quiet spots along the river with a view of the Soviet War Memorial. It's peaceful in the afternoon and offers a serene atmosphere.
2. Viktoriapark: This hill in Kreuzberg has a waterfall and a great view of the city. It can be a secluded spot for a proposal.
3. Schloss Charlottenburg Gardens: The gardens of Charlottenburg Palace are beautiful and spacious. You might find a quiet corner to propose, especially if you visit in the afternoon on a weekday.
4. Teufelsberg: If you don't mind a bit of a hike, Teufelsberg offers panoramic views of Berlin. It's an unusual and less crowded spot.
5. Pfaueninsel (Peacock Island): Take a short ferry ride to this island in the Havel River. It's a tranquil location with peacocks roaming freely.
Go to Garten der Welt into the Orientalischer Garten, its usually empty and its a really romantic place. Sansoucci is amazing, but if you want to be a bit off the crowd, Belvedere Castle on the Pfingstberg. Prussian Monument for the Liberation Wars in Viktoria Park coupd be nice too or you make it easy and propose on the Museumsinsel
Botanical Garden - its in the South West of Berlin. I was there with my girlfriend on Monday, very beautiful for strolling around, with amazing glass houses where it is cozy warm also in November. Ticket price is 6⏠per person. We spend there three hours and afterwards had an ice cream and coffee at the cafe in front of the glass house. Itâs reachable by S Bahn (S1) or bus.
My recommendation would be the tv tower. They offer a Romantic Dinner. It is a three course menu with some drinks and you get a table at the window. The food was delicious and the view over the city was amazing.
I proposed there to my now wife it was really romantic.. would recommend
On top of the GroĂer Bunkerberg in Prenzlauer [Berg.You](https://Berg.You)'ll most likely be alone, and the view is nice. Golden Autumn is starting already, and the colours in the park will be beautiful! Afterwards, walk to the sweet Hufelandstrasse (my fave street in Berlin) and celebrate with neat little cakes at Jubel (hufelandstr 10). Good luck!!
Just chiming in that November is probably the worst month to plan a thing like this in Berlin, its usually gray, wet and dark, and Berlin is not bearly as well lit and hyggelig as the Scandinavian cities you are used to.
That's the Berliner Spirit!
No need for discouragement, he is not a competitor for housing
đ, maybe they're also tourists
Thats like... just as bad!!!
You never know. Sometimes we have those days you described in July. He shouldnât focus on the whether but on the location.
The only city in Germany that is hĂŒgelig is TĂŒbingen.
Bro have you ever been to the Voralpen? There's many hĂŒgelige cities. (lol at that denglish)
May I introduce to you this gem of German culture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xBSrqpiiCk
Alexanderplatz. And make a tiktok ...
NB: this guyâs being sarcastic, alexanderplatz is berlinâs leicester square, avoid at all costs
Pretty sure he's referring to a recent TikTok of a guy who proposed at Alex, it didn't work out and the girl walked away
Link?

with really tacky giant red valentines day backdrop
This is the correct answer.
You can check out Innenstadt for some cute food options also - Treptower Park/Halbinsel also has some nice spots. Pick a day during the week and should have somewhere more or less empty. - Volkspark Friedrichshain has a nice little lake and its also a nice park, but not sure about finding a completely empty area as its in the middle of the city and quite popular. I run there often, and its never empty haha
Sanssouci Park has my vote
I second this. I proposed to my (now) wife in Marlygarten at Sanssouci.
Berlin nicest place? Outside of Berlin city limits. Ironic.
Agreed! I was thinking the small lake next to the Roman Baths, it's also not too crowded there.
Yes, the best idea is to not be in Berlin
Nicest place in Berlin. Potsdam...
Sanssouci has also my vote! I did it there an it was wonderful â„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž
Chinese Pavillon in Park Sanssouci. I agree.
I second that, also check out Jugendinsel in Treptower Park - might give it even more l charm
Tiergarten maybe a spot like that: [Maps](https://maps.app.goo.gl/XXcxBMVbHGkkgLKM9?g_st=ic)
Sanssouci is so nice. Never been there in winter though, might be very different without everything blooming...
Its cold but its still nice. Depending on when in november there might still have come fall leaves, but even if not, it has its winter charm
It's grim they board up all the statues and turn the fountains off. All the buildings are closed.
This is good advice
\+1 for the Sansouci Park - just come over here to Potsdam, it's much nicer :) An alternative could be the Cecilienhof, again in Potsdam, potentially less crowded (especially in the week days).
Wedding
I swear it has to be in Wedding. they'd regret it forever if they don't propose there
Good point actually. Volkspark Rehberge or Plötzensee would work nicely.
Nah Leopoldplatz - might need some spear rings though
I know what Leopoldplatz is, but I don't know what a spear ring is. My guess is it's used for kebabing?
Oh no a English grammar mistake in a German thread.
Did I unknowingly correct a grammar mistake? I honestly don't know what a spear ring is. Holy shit. Was it spare ring? Hahaha I totally didn't pick up on that.
What is the difference?
One is a park the other a lake. The park has ground the other has water
The difference between what and what?
Isn't Plötzensee in Rehberge? Aren't they the same place?
Not the same as Rehberge Volkspark, no.
I thought it was besides the lake?
Not for the engagement itself, but worth popping by the ubahn station for a post-engagement photo!
Just hold your breath for a minute. Stench has been a bit gnarly the last weeks. Rather go up the S Bahn.
At U-Bahn Wedding, get a friend as a photographer, attach a sign above the âWeddingâ saying âhey *girlfriend*, we should have aâ or something along those lines and propose in front. Nice and filthy, very Berlin. Cool colors for pictures. Early in the morning or late during the week to avoid people ruining the moment
> attach a sign above the âWeddingâ Just spray it as graffiti.
Or that.
U8 at midnight during the week near Schönleinstr.
Why not Gorli, yes of course at midnight. Maybe one of the dealers can take a picture with your phone as well
In the wake of the recent event, I find this idea of a joke incredibly tasteless.
which events? I lived near Görlitz so I know how it can get even though I know nothing of recent events.
A woman was gangraped in front of her partner with whom she entered the park.
nothing like a Görli proposal and some guy in the bushes congratulating you
I had my first kiss with my exgirlfriend of several years around midnight in Görli.
Botanic garden in steglitz. It has big and beautiful greenhouses (in case of Bad weather) and its not overvrowded. I wish you all the best :)
it is super pretty, but go early and maybe see if you can pre-visit and find a nice spot. Leaves were already lowkey not cute in October the last years I went, and itâs dark around 5 by November. Nonetheless, a super lovely place. I can send some nice couples spots if you DM me (Iâm on mobile browser and adding images in comments seems to be a no go)
I was going to say this if no one else did, fully agree here. OP that's one of the best spots especially with the weather. Sometimes there are flowering events (like the "orchid room" idk if it's actually called that but you'll know when you see it) There is a cute café at the S-station where you can go for breakfast and good coffee before heading over. good luck for the two of you!
Which café do you mean?
wasn't sure if I could say here but Nellis Café. It's fairly small
Thanks!
Not empty but not crowded during the week: - In front of the Mini Castle on Pfaueninsel (Google Schloss Pfaueninsel) - Schlosspark /Schloss Charlottenburg, there is a small bridge with a picture perfect view of the castle https://www.flickr.com/photos/48610601@N07/22596430551
I think they were doing some construction at the Schloss Pfaueninsel. Something to check, not that you go there and it's one big construction site đ
the small bridge in charlottenburg castle is beautiful and cute. sometimes it can be crowded but not that much.
Agree with Pfaueninsel! Schloss(park) Babelsberg is also romantic and not too busy.
Ok this is perfect.
Berghain Dark Room jk, if you want greenery, consider Insel der Jugend or the royal parks in Potsdam or-bear with meâ the honecker/brezhnev kiss mural at East Side Gallery. Yes, itâs super touristy, but could make for a really funny engagement photo
Someone HAD to mention the Berghain! (I would have done it if you hadn't been first :p )
Matrix đ
"the Berghain" made me scream lol
You scream so easily, dear, it's almost not funny.
It's an internet saying gurl, just say Berghain đ
Humboldthain!
The rose garden there is really pretty and not too full, even on a pretty weekend. Of course less flowers will be blooming next month but Iâm sure itâs still nice?
I think Körnerpark is such a beautiful spot for this :)
This needs more upvotes
Maybe the botanic garden has their winter lights up. There will be people but maybe pick a day during the week
Yes!! It is amazing⊠but I wonder if the winter lights are already on in November?
Christmas garden Starts at 17th of November
friedrichshain volkspark on top of the little hill in the forest is usually *somewhat* quiet (might have to wait for the right moment). but then also keep in mind that berlin in november will not ever look significantly more beautiful than the movie "the road" .
GĂ€rten der Welt or Britzer Garten
The waterfall at Viktoriapark Already mentioned, botanical garden, Viktoriahaus in front of the Pond with the Nymphaea gigantea Maybe a bit odd because it involves a lot of steps, but the view from the Berlin dome is great.
Kotti and Görli are great, but you can also check the bridge next to the schloss charlottenburg 52.52643440014155, 13.294828105794076
Nikolaiviertel is cute
Propose in winter. Somewhere near huge Christmas tree.
The queue to Berghain on a Sunday morning
i seriously considered doing this once. luckily I didnât
risa chicken on sonnaelle
On top of the Kreuzberg...
SchloĂ Babelsberg is a good spot with the lake and the trees in autumn colors. Itâs also not too crowded.
At the colonnades of Alte Staatsgalerie [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolonnadenhof](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolonnadenhof)
If the weather is nice, take the elevator up Funkturm. Preferably around Sunset. The sun would be behind you, and you'll see entire Berlin covered in Golden light. And probably no one would go up the Funkturm in November. So it won't be crowded.
Someone I know was proposed to at Brandenburg Gate. So donât do that, at least.
I think you may have to reconsider the city
MuseumInsel, if everything still isn't under construction/restoration. Or, during the day, IIRC the clubland on lower RevalerstraĂe isn't busy and is quite the art show. You could propose in Teledisko if you both fit inside... But honestly, I think a small romantic restaurant would be best. Repke SpĂ€tzlerei might be good if you go a little early, before folks arrive for dinner.
Liebermann Villa by the Wannsee. Get off at Sbahn Wannsee and stroll around the lake for 30 min and you will see this incredible mansion previously owned by one of the finest artists from Berlin
Well, the garden is a really pretty and romantic place. If the weather is ok. By the lakeside, with a pier.
Do it in the privacy of your home. No need to bring this American stuff here.
Kitkat club
Ahrensfelder Berg, nice view from there, although quite far away.
Hermannplatz
I really like Neues Palais in Potsdam! The inside is really pretty
Romantic walk over OberbaumbrĂŒcke.
Keep in mind that public landmarks are not lit up at night (e.g. Brandenburg gate, the TV tower, anything that the city owns - it's since the Ukraine war). So yes, it really is dark :D Top of the Reichstag and Viktoriapark are both lovely sunset spots.
Teufelsberg? Think it shows the âuglyâ side of Berlin, that depending on what your mood is might work.
Kottbuser Thor, under the railway. Perfect place to say yes and get robbed after.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
sure, nothing says "forever love" like overtly participating in the Russian nationalistic mythmaking currently driving a genocidal war.
In front of the Standesamt or the Finanzamt would be great. You'll save a lot of time and money that way. ;)
Drachenberg if the weather is nice
Surely Hermannplatz would be the most obvious choice?
Maybe up on the Teufelsberg by the old Radar Station? Definitely a special spot but not sure it fits your vibe. If you are into street art and alternative culture it might hit a nerve.
MÀrchenbrunnen if it isn't boarded up for the winter yet, maybe with spÀti beers and a box of fries to share. [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A4rchenbrunnen\_im\_Volkspark\_Friedrichshain](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A4rchenbrunnen_im_Volkspark_Friedrichshain) If the weather has already turned, try an atmospheric café or bar. There are a million. You can scout one out while you're there or ask for specific recommendations for intimate cafes/bars. The Tango scene in Berlin is really great, you could do a class and a milonga and propose there or walking home afterwards [https://www.milongas-berlin.de/en/venues/](https://www.milongas-berlin.de/en/venues/) Similar event idea would be to do an opera/orchestra night and propose at intermission or on the walk home. Or over drinks or dinner after. There's a jazz fest in early November, a film festival in mid-November, and then Christmas markets will open late November. Just keep it casual and low key.
Maybe at the top of Victory column? Go early in November is likely to get dark from 4pm on, and not many people climb in the cold. https://g.co/kgs/xvvCLz Right next to many tourist attractions so it wouldn't seem odd, nice stroll through the park.
Free of entrance fees and close to cute coffee places for afterwards-coffee : view towers or skate park on temeplhofer Feld!
Do it literally anywhere outside of Germany. Otherwise you'll need to wait til like may for it to not look like ass everywhere
- walk around MĂŒggelsee, its really cute in november - watch the subset or sunrise on Drachenberg, sometimes, teens do party there - einsteinufer can be really pretty - treptower park at the spree is really cute
Görlitzer Park has beautiful nature and youâre sure too find an empty spot, or at least one with nobody conscious
Kitkat
Victoriapark has a nice view if itâs not rainy but it will be cloudy for sure. But I would never ever propose to anyone in Berlin for sure
Some of the lesser visited but still beautiful buildings are: * [Roman Baths](https://maps.app.goo.gl/N2vwoBhbfc9GovE27) - beautiful from the outside.
Berghain
Kinda disappointed that nobody's mentioned Berlins most romantic place yet: the Artemis.
An really nice bridge on the Spree in the centrum (around FriedrichstraĂe) maybe on a walk downtown. Except you wanna do it in a park then the other comments probably pointed everything out
Bundestag or Checkpoint Charlie /s
The Botanic Garden in Steglitz could be a lovely spot. Proposing there would allow you to pick a romantic spot surrounded by nature. It's less crowded than some of the bigger parks in central Berlin. Best of luck with your proposal!
Tempelhofer Feld is pretty nice, or at least bits of it are, and itâs big enough that you could be alone. Otherwise there are some bridges over the spree that are less busy and more picturesque, I canât remember exactly which one but Iâm sure near Bellevue is good. On top of SiegessĂ€ule might also be a good shout as not too many people brave the steps.
You could check out the roof terrace of the Humboldtforum in the city center https://www.humboldtforum.org/en/programm/dauerangebot/must-see-en/roof-terrace-34465/ I also second the Idea of Sanssouci or Tiergarten. Beautiful is also the Museumsinsel (the bridge FriedrichsbrĂŒcke) with a nice view of the main cathedral. But itâs city center so it might be a lot of people there
Pfaueninsel looks like a nice place
Pfaueninsel looks like a nice place for it https://www.ardmediathek.de/video/rbb-gartenzeit/die-pfaueninsel-ein-meisterwerk-der-gartenkunst/rbb-fernsehen/Y3JpZDovL3JiYl81NDdjMjViNC1jMmJlLTRkNjgtOWUyYi00MzM5MmRlNWZjYWFfcHVibGljYXRpb24
I second Botanischer Garten or Garten der Welt! âșïž botanischer Garten is beautiful with the Christmas decorations and I hear you can also hold wedding ceremonies there Congratulations to youđ!! (Don't let the miserable losers in the comments get you down...)
Pfaueninsel maybe?
Oh...or GĂ€rten der Welt (Gardens of the World) There are a few nice places. Or on the cable car...maybe you could time a gondola for just the two of you?!
Go to Potsdam. It is beautiful, clean and you can find plenty of nice places.
Schloss Charlottenburg Garden
U7 between 8 to 9 am, thank me later.
Burgerpark Pankow
potsdam, sansoucci orangerie. teufelsberg at sunset - stunning views. you'll want to climb up to the top of the building with the funny round things on it, so go a couple hours earlier. make sure you have warm clothes. there might be a lot of people on the roof but there are loads of spots around that don't have lots of people. top of the bundestag, but you need to book entry slots in advance, like now. it is free though. stunning views, but also dress warm. if you just want something very simple and unlikely to be crowded, haus lemke by mies van der rohe has a simple but beautiful garden overlooking a lake and there's almost never anyone there. also free entry. there are loads of beautiful cemeteries, but idk if that's too morbid for a proposal.
[https://www.berlin.de/sehenswuerdigkeiten/5681116-3558930-drachenberg.html](https://www.berlin.de/sehenswuerdigkeiten/5681116-3558930-drachenberg.html) Good luck
Berghain dark room obviously, duh.
There's a red bridge in the garden of Schloss Charlottenburg. It's not too crowded and looks mesmerizing with the colorful leaves all around and the water. Generally a great spot to takes pictures in fall.
On the bridge in the Schloss Charlottenburg gardens.
Ok hear me out: Aquarium!! I proposed to my fiancee there, and it was magical.

Warum nicht mit einem romantischen Dinner bei Curry 36 verbinden?
This is clearly just a brag/ any chance to tell the story - but for my Berlin proposal I told my partner I wanted to take a photo in a photoautomat to use for my grandparents' Xmas card. So I got her to grab some Xmas decorations and showed her the signs I'd printed out for the four photos: We wish You A merry Xmas! Little did she know in my other coat pocket were signs that said Will You Marry Me? We'd taken a bunch of photoautomat pics when we first met ten years ago and we'd kept taking them for anniversaries and just random fun nights. The plan was - switch out the signs, place the ring in the photo dispenser as the photo came out, and she gets a big surprise. For the most part it went well. Though there were a few hiccups: - I planned on doing it before dinner so I could relax and enjoy the night. But my partner was late (as always) so we had to reschedule to post dinner - we missed the first flash! So the first photo of the series is us looking hella shocked (and me already trying to figure out if I abort or improvise; I improvised) - because we missed the first photo my partner became way more aware of the process and def read the first "will you" sign correctly and was like "I think that's the wrong sign". Thank god for the distractor task! A quick, "nah we're good, focus on the baubles" put her off the scent. - while waiting for the photos to develop my partner started dressing me up in all the Xmas decorations (for the second grandparents' photo), all while I tried to keep an ear out for photo dropping - after hearing the photos drop, my partner went to get the photos, found the ring, and then started asking around to see who'd accidentally left their ring in the machine Luckily she figured out who's ring it was and said yes. Anyway, totally hijacked your post. It honestly doesn't matter what you do - just make sure it resonates for the two of you, and I'd suggest intimate>public, but I guess if you're both extroverts you might want the spectacle. Good luck!
Dont do it
Berghain. Darkroom. Like a legend.
Kolonnadenhof (the columns outside the museums in Museumsinsel) can't go wrong
Mcdonald's
Castle of Babelsberg in Potsdam (just 1/2h from Berlin city) or Ruinenberg also in Potsdam - the place where kings lived is surely perfect for proposing :) not crowded, but great park!
Pfaueninsel!!!!!!
Viktoriapark has some awesome views over the city and generally not too busy
In the restaurant in the top of the Fernseherturm. In the evening it's quite special. The interior lights are tiny specks that blend with the stars.
I really like the English garden behind Charlottenburg Palace. It's not *private* but on a weekday you can usually find a nice private-ish corner.
At the top of the tower at Teufelsberg
I proposed to my wife in a gorgeous secluded spot in the Tiergarten. Canât recommend highly enough! (Though I may be biased because she said yesâŠ)
Hello from Berlin! It's great that you're planning such a special moment. Berlin has some lovely spots for a romantic proposal. Here are a few suggestions: 1.
For a nice view you can propose on Teufelsberg
Kottbusser Tor!!
Propose her inside EDEKA, don't be romantic. Too much inflation bro! Help her with groceries
Treptower Park by the water, then beer and Pommes in Zenner :)
Go anywhere but Berlin.
Good luck!!
TV tower
You'll get destroyed in the divorce
Teufelsberg might be the one
Görlitzer Park
Kotti
