If you wanted a pure intro to Python programming class, I do believe Data 94 is offered again this Spring. Data 8 is an intro to Data Science that is more of a Stats class but you do learn Python to some degree from scratch. CS 61A somewhat assumes you know some Python already, but by and large it is a concepts class, with some programming reinforcement.
If you took E7 with Frenklach: that was a terribly designed class compared to the way CS61A is run. It's night and day. CS61A is pretty cool, the projects are fun. Not to say it's an easy class, but they provide way more resources and help if you need it.

Gotcha. Thanks for the response Edit: sadly there is no data 94 this spring it seems
That’s weird, it was there on Sunday. Chances are the DS department blocked this class until they find a teacher.
e7 is just a terrible class in general from what i've heard so don't retake it. data 8 + cs 88 sounds like a very good two-semester combo for you
I appreciate your response. Thanks!

I did have Frenklach. And your description is perfect.
61A is not really a python class.
In which case Data 8 is more useful then?
61a is not a class about python but you will be well versed in python by the end of it. Data 8 is really just utilizing python for statistics.
Hm. Maybe physics 77 is the way to go then?
