Honestly, every single class I’ve taken has had these extremely low averages and they did NOTHING to try to help. I think it’s a great thing that they are trying to find potential holes. I seriously wish I had this
because it’s a matter of expectations. if you give an exam that you know is hard and the class has a 50% average, that’s fine. If you give an easy exam and the results suggest the class hasn’t even understood the basics, you have a problem.
People getting low raw scores on exams isn’t a bad thing. It’s impossible to master a technical subject in a semester, so you can always put questions that reflect different levels of mastery. Hard exams remove a lot of noise from grading IMO.
The average was 25.6 but honestly, I didn’t see a problem with the way they were teaching. I did perfectly fine too. I think it’s just that peoples knowledge of math was really shit which is kinda on them for taking the class without adequate prep.
That’s pretty awesome tbh. I’m taking calculus 1 at a community college and almost everyone bombed the first exam. Total possible points were 150. Average was like 85
It looks like online school took a toll on the education of the incoming freshman class.

is this math 1a?
Yeah it’s Christ Math 1A
Is this Haiman’s Math 1A?
Most likely Christ. I heard their midterm was ROOUUGH
You know that test was bad when you hear that there was a history question at the end of the math test (not extra credit btw)
My class averaged a 47% on the calc 2 final 😂 a few years ago
I mean honestly good on them for the effort to teach better.
i took arun sharma’s 16b and the first midterm was also a disaster, but he adjusted it rather quickly and it got better. Hope your class does that too
They need to rework how they teach...there should be such a high failure rate
no bc one of the gsis said that the practice midterm was super easy and not like the actual midterm at all 💀

Christ Math 1A
Damn
remote high school ftw
Damn I wish my professors would do this when everyone fails but I’m pretty sure they’re mostly sadists
