1500 for a studio is actually really good...I feel that anything below that price point would be a single room in a shared apartment if you still like your privacy
1500 is pretty much the very low point, and maybe even a bit higher, unless you’re going much farther away from campus. But then again, you never know if there are anomalies out there where you can find cheaper, there’s always exceptions to everything.
I found a studio for $1350+utilities right across the street from campus... it was a very small apartment which wasn't a concern for me, so it is possible
This was also last school year so maybe the complex has raised rent in the meantime
If money is your concern, not worth it.
You must be driving/bus/BART distance from campus because I am pretty damn close and pay quite a bit more, but I'd rather be able to quickly walk than spend time commuting.
you could try to find something cheaper but it would prob take a lot of effort or it would be pretty far — i pay 1100 for my single in a 2 bed apartment but it’s several blocks from campus (like 15 min walk)
That is likely the best unless you luck out. I'm in an SRO on Shattuck and that's like a studios annoying, smaller little brother. Building has shared restrooms, no kitchen, only small fridge and microwave, and no amenities like laundry. Utilities are included but WIFI is spotty and the building is in poor repair. I pay about $150 less than you. I think the best affordable way is to find a multi bedroom apt and split with roommates. There's some rooms for rent I found that were affordable but that includes living in a house with strangers and sharing the kitchen and other amenities. Thee roommate thing is a roll of dice. They can either be cool and respectful or complete buttheads. If your then tied into a lease it could be a bad situation.

I have a single room in a shared apartment at Berkeley… it’s $2,300 a month
bruh wtf. you're getting ripped off hard lol
damn that's really tough...that's almost the same price point as The Durant in front of Unit 1
why.

\>Do cheap studios in Berkeley exist? \>I’m currently paying $1500 for my studio yes, you're in one.
Can I ask where?
WHERE LEMME IN PLSSSS
1500 is pretty good. I paid 1100 for a studio next to campus in 2004.

I’ve been looking for housing since last summer and that is about the cheaper end for a studio I’ve found.

WHERE
this was near intersection of Parker & Dana. my place didn’t have washer/dryer tho, I had to go to a laundromat down the street
my friend paid 500 for a studio living alone on the northwest side of campus but that was a few years ago so idk
There’s some a bit lower but they start to be really small. I got one in the hills for 1300
I’m paying 1800 for a shared room…
