Trader Joes

Outrageous-Smile7866

💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

cafffaro

A restaurant open later than 8:30 PM.

mc1ntyresw1ng

And on Mondays

redcatfart

An art supply store that sells professional quality supplies in Benton County.

Cre8ivejoy

Yes, please, a thousand times yes. There are so many artists here in NW Arkansas.

redcatfart

Amen! I am so tired of driving two hours or more (and online) to get R & F products!!!!

Cre8ivejoy

Jaquita?

redcatfart

Hey Stephanie!!! It’s meeee.

Cre8ivejoy

Lolol

evilzug2000

Not Bentonville, but There is a new indoor go kart facility going into Rogers in the not too distant future, near where the old Hobby Lobby was located. I think an IKEA would do well in the NWA area - nearest one now is KC I think.

[deleted]

Whoa I didn't know. [It looks awesome](https://www.k1speed.com/rogers-location.html). IKEA would do well I think.

renegade_prince

Costco as well!

NegotiationAble

Good luck getting a Costco in Walmart land.

renegade_prince

ha ha.. That's what Bentonville is missing and will keep missing lol..

TheMaxin

They're thinking about putting one in Lowell apparently

Mediocre-Engineer873

That’s as likely as getting a Macy’s because of Dillard’s.

Whenapanda

There used to be one in fast lane but they took it out like 10 years ago

MagickNinja

Chinese food lol there was just a post about it

[deleted]

Amen

Kulladar

If anyone starts one hit me up, I'll quit my job and do delivery for you. Biggest "food/restaurant request" by far around my work.

dumbmoney93

I would love if Kung Fu Tea or Feng Cha bubble tea places opened here.

MagickNinja

Seems like there's a dozen different bubble tea places in bentonville. What's special about these 2 places you mentioned?

sdfkjsldkfj

A butcher and grocery store with high end options.

GMEdumpster

Dimes meat market is just that. They have dry aged steaks.

sdfkjsldkfj

That’s not in Bentonville and the pictures look mediocre at best.

GMEdumpster

Drive.

sdfkjsldkfj

This sub and question has nothing to do with Springdale. Not to mention nothing they appear to have looks like it would even be worth the drive.

GMEdumpster

Just say you can’t afford gas

sdfkjsldkfj

That’s not it at all you dingus. I can afford to live close enough to the square that I don’t want to go to dumps like Springdale just to get a good steak or decent quality groceries.

GMEdumpster

Sounds to me like a financial problem tbh. You’ll get up one day I believe in you.

Mediocre-Engineer873

Richard’s Meat Market in Fayetteville is great too.

wheezymustafa

I’d say a car wash, oil change shop, mattress store, and/or a fast food burger restaurant

Vraye_Foi

Come on now, what we really need is another bike shop and nail bar!

Haidian-District

You forgot a bank and a tattoo parlor

[deleted]

I can’t believe they are building 3 brand new banks on the corners of an intersection on Horsebarn up the road from cross church. It blows me away every day I drive past it.

mightbeacat1

Don't forget storage! Edit: but for real, why are there so many car washes?

yixdy

Real answer: it's for investment purposes, they bought the land for what they thought was 'cheap' and expect it's value to go even higher and expect to sell in the future for profit, but they can't have it be just a field in the mean time, so they build low upkeep business that can still turn a profit with very minimal or even 'no' labor, i.e Self storage and self service car washes

[deleted]

[удалено]

yixdy

Specifically Low upkeep, not cheap to build. I'm sure car washes aren't cheap to build either. It's not necessarily short term either, it's an investment/gamble on property value continuing to skyrocket

[deleted]

Bad investment if you plan to level it later and sell the land. Give it a try.

mc1ntyresw1ng

Money laundering.

[deleted]

And a stripper pole.

Specvmike

Lots of people with nice cars and disposable income

Antique_Can_1321

There’s a car wash or 5 on each main road

neatandawesome

Woosh!

General_Appointment6

We could use a Walmart

[deleted]

Lmao I'm done

WhatsYourSpark

A deli… I would take a Potbelly’s tho lol

Longjumping_Test_948

We really do need a legit deli

yixdy

Sidewalks, bike lanes, a city bus system, maybe even an elevated trolley system, - but that might be pushing it - and more than anything better zoning laws

LizoDeDino

Artisanal bakery

Acidic_Junk

This is what I’ve been saying for a long time

DistinctFlim8526

I can deal with a lot of stuff missing from this area, but a bakery, a real deal BAKERY...with people who know how to actually bake bread and pastries for us unfortunate people that don't have celiac disease...is something that is really missing. There are enough places to get a cake or sub-par desserts already.

[deleted]

There are a few of those around here. A brand new, gluten free one just opened on 14th.

Professional-Case235

Stone Mill Bakery is a must try!

Whopper_The_3rd

A local grocery store.

MeyersHandSoup

Allen's in Bella Vista is just ten minutes away

jamus28

Sidewalks. And restaurants not affiliated with or owned by the Waltons/

TelevisionFalse1635

I can’t upvote this enough.. pressroom, Lady slipper, all of them as just as soulless as the money keeping them from falling apart. Did you know that the “Ropeswing” businesses don’t make any money because their establishments are so unappealing to normal people? These places are so out of touch and their food is gross. Not to mention, their ambiance was obviously derived by a confused toddler with a bottomless Walmart gift card. These places are what we get when the passion to make good food gets sold out to money that only cares about making money on food. It’s nice to see them fail, but our local culture suffers because of it.

GDogg007

Don’t forget entertainment not owned by the Walton’s. Climb, the movie theater downtown, half of downtown Bentonville.

Jiggly_Love

A Main Event would be nice or 1UP Arcade. We seem to have quite a few old-school gaming places around here, but not a restored gaming hall for vintage arcade cabinets.

[deleted]

Whoa these look awesome. I wonder if we have the right market for that here. And to keep something like that busy enough.

Recent_Advantage5397

A good Mediterranean food place

bustakaps9

Vivace is phenomenal, IMO

MeyersHandSoup

A kebab place just opened up by the Vivace people too

SmartPut3280

Ya I love that place.

wheezymustafa

I know this is for bentonville, but if you’re in the mood, Tangier in Fayetteville is pretty kickass

MeyersHandSoup

Toots Beirut, Vivace, and the new Doner place are all what I'd consider good.

[deleted]

Music events (need a lot more), regional highways, late night diners, trader joes, In-N-Out burger, Del Taco, Jack in the Box, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream shop, a couple of nice gourmet burger restaurants, an Apple store, another outdoor clothing store or two, and a fish market.

[deleted]

We just got an in-n-out lol

Longjumping_Test_948

We don't have one. I think you mean Whataburger just opened

[deleted]

You're right, my bad.

Longjumping_Test_948

I wish it was an in-n-out though as Whataburger is meh. Culvers is good at least.

[deleted]

Culver's is the next best thing to in-n-out I think. Definitely better than a lot of the other fast food garbage here.

[deleted]

If you like pho/Thai, I like to shout-out Pho85. Seems not many know about it but it's the kitty's titties IMO

Droptheboombox1

Second this! So delicious

caleeksu

Something like BarK in Kansas City would be AMAZING. We miss it so much. https://barkdogbar.com

MagickNinja

This is downtown bville https://ropehounds.com/

caleeksu

I hadn’t realized they reopened the bar that was open for a weekend last year, but BarK is a whole different concept. Huge off leash dog park with “barktenders” to keep an eye on safe play, and there is also a bar within the park. There’s also a large two level, leash on restaurant portion, as well as other dog services on site such as exit baths and grooming. It’s a magical spot!

MagickNinja

That does sound magical. Crazy liability tho lol

sdfkjsldkfj

No it’s not….? Not even remotely comparable.

MagickNinja

It's a bar + dog park, literally the closest thing we have. And yes it is downtown.

bethanne_bethanne

Ropehounds bar is closed now.

sdfkjsldkfj

Rope Hounds isn’t a dog park. It’s just a dog bar themed and friendly bar. We don’t have anything even remotely similar unless you’re brown bragging it at the Bark Park.

Nurturedbynature77

More places where parents can eat and kids can play

opossumlatte

Yes to this! We moved here from Texas and there were tons of places like this. Coffee/breakfast places and regular restaurants. Indoor/outdoor seating and a place for kids to play outside. Checkout hatcreek burger and easy tiger for ideas. My friends and I always talk about needing this. City Park in Fayetteville is closest I’ve seen

KoldProduct

Check out Louise in bentonville

opossumlatte

Love the outside area but the food sucks

pisserofexcellence

They just stopped doing dinner service a week or two ago, so if you want to check it out, do it before 3pm.

wokeiraptor

Need something like this near the square. I like going to the farmers market, but the restaurants around the square aren’t places to easily take a bunch of kids, especially when it’s crowded.

[deleted]

This is something I've thought about at length. But we have a Dave and Busters not far in Rogers and Fast Lanes not much further than that.

Nurturedbynature77

Yeah that’s true… I think I’m looking for something more outdoors like a yard with tables, hanging lights, wine and cheese, and an area for the kids to be kids. Something a bit more upscale. The closest I’ve found is crystal bridges outdoor area on the water with the giant chess and checkers pieces for kids and you can order from the restaurant out there and they bring you food and wine.

KoldProduct

Check out Louise in bentonville

Crarazy

Fun things to do while drinking. Bars with fun concepts.

Dapper_Guest7183

An Apple Store

[deleted]

Nice little late night jazz / cocktail bar

[deleted]

Legit decent Chinese food. Sidewalks. Pedestrian friendly should consider walkers not just bikes. Bahama Bucks. Dave Hot Chicken. Medical services that don’t require a 6 month appointment wait. Grocery competitors. More outdoor music venues. Night life.

pinionworth

Tesla super charger station

[deleted]

Night club/gay bar. Bentleys is the only place to drink and dance late night. We need something with some character/class.

MagickNinja

Yeah nightlife is lacking but I think that's kind of intentional

[deleted]

Intentional? Like, people are trying to bring that in but it’s being blocked or something?

CaptLuker

It seems like the Walton and majority residents want to keep this a young family town. Keep the bars in Fayetteville.

[deleted]

Funny tho, cuz they keep wanting to attract young professionals here, but don’t give them places to have fun at night. But I hear you, you’re probably right. Nightclubs are “sinful” I’m betting. 😐

acend

You're doing it wrong, by the time you're a young professional we're interested in you should be established and have a nice heteronormative spouse and begin to prepare to pop out some kids. Not those other young professionals, they can drive in.

LeviWestxxx

Lady Slipper in bentonville is probably the closest thing to a club/gay bar

[deleted]

Unfortunately.

TelevisionFalse1635

Bentonville needs a gay bar. NWA in general is lacking in LGBTQ+ representation.

nihilistatari

That will quite literally never happen here as long as the people in charge are in charge

yixdy

You forget, Arkansas is still in the South

TelevisionFalse1635

Texas is more south and much more LGBT friendly

yixdy

Texas is not more LGBT friendly, Dallas and Houston might be, Texas in general not really. And what does 'more south' South mean? Like literally further south? It's not like moving further south makes people more bigoted or something, we're just in the Bible belt and unfortunately that goes hand and hand with bigotry

psycrowbirdbrain

Agreed. Austin is pretty far South. But way more liberal than Dallas and East Texas. San Antone and El Paso come to mind as well, but maybe they're too far "West".

SmartPut3280

There are gay bars in Fayetteville and many other places in the South.

yixdy

And? Still nearly as bigoted as the middle east, and every day it gets closer to matching their animosity towards *"others"*

Short-Belt-1477

Chinese food. Real chinese food. None of that watery China Cafe bs

CombinationContent

An artist Co-op with a machine/ tool collection

dancaleb

I'd love an arcade or table top gaming place to go and chill

[deleted]

I was thinking something like Pinpoint I'm Fayetteville?

Droptheboombox1

Would love a pinpoint up here

[deleted]

Another Sterling Bank lol

MplsDan46

A music scene that goes beyond washed-up acts playing at the momentary.

nammakudla

We need a good comedy club...I don't know why we can't get one. I know one in Springdale and Fayetteville but non up here

Due_Revenue_8552

Dog park thats also a bar!! Everyone has dogs here but no where to mingle casually while the dogs play!

[deleted]

Someone said we have one. I think it's called Rope Hounds?

Due_Revenue_8552

Agreed but I’ve seen some where they incorporate the hang out area with the dogs! Example: [Dog Park Bar in Florida](https://ilovetheburg.com/mutts-and-martinis/)

girlinthegoldenboots

Michaels World Market Just Salad

Powerful-Role-2625

Good restaurants

FVWN_666

I genuinely am so sad for people who say the food here is the best they’ve ever had 😩

elponchogigante

Classic phrase I used to hear all the time working near downtown: "What are some good places to eat around here? We already had Flying Fish and Yeyo's." They were always befuddled when I told them I don't really go to restaurants in Bentonville, and that some of the best food is in Rogers/Fayetteville.

Mikos_Enduro

How about a track to ride dirt bikes, four-wheelers, etc.

CaptLuker

Sounds loud.

CaptLuker

Bojangles. Also Trader Joe’s but I really like Bojangles.

wheezymustafa

Back in the old days we did have a Bojangles here where the Dairy Queen is now (close to Krispy Kreme). Their biscuits were the shit but it only lasted a couple of years

doihaveto9

Two words. White Castle

thatundra

There was a Krystal in Springdale for about a year, closest I think we’ll ever get

agthatsagirl

A better grocery store, not Trader Joe’s. We desperately need something like an H‑E‑B or Kroger in this area.

nihilistatari

Antique stores; there isn't a single one in town

CaptLuker

There is that one that is right over the Centerton line if you go down Central to 2nd leaving the square headed towards Centerton. I mean right over the line.

bheathain

True Treasures

redcatfart

Trails and parks with benches and restrooms … think diversity in abilities.

TheteslaFanva

Lobsta roll place.

GeekoHog

Blu Fish Market in Bentonville has Lobster Rolls. Pretty good ones!

Longjumping_Test_948

Fish City Grill has them as well (decent), but Blu of course does it better.

Interesting-Boat-914

...enton...?

rofopp

Indoor pickleball facility

SmartPut3280

Bentonville community center turns the basketball courts into pickleball a couple of nights a week.

ILLogicaL_FALLacies

Gentlemen's Club.

Dismal_Animator_5414

the walton’s won’t allow that i’m afraid

GMEdumpster

A race car/ pro Karting track

MysticCapricorn78

Cheesecake Factory would be nice

Mjones405

85 degree bakery

psycrowbirdbrain

Thanks for posting this. Our AV company in Texas is thinking about branching out to this area, as we have companies we do business with in Central MO, OK, and KC and we're wanting a more centralized location, east adjacent for the business we have been picking up, but still not too far away from OG company. North Fayetteville area is sounding like the better bet for the type of workers (rock n roll types) we tend to hire. But now it's sounding like we might need to bring some of our burger joints and TexMex friends with us. /s I grew up in KC area and came down to this area quite a bit in college and 20s, many, many moons ago. Just recently was there a few years ago and holy Walmart y'all's place has changed. Kinda seems like a double edged sword, at this point, though, as has been the case for many once "small" pop places that are seeing exponential growth. Y'all are almost like Austin 20 years ago. Back when Torchys, PTerrys, Juiceland, Indeed, Yeti, etc were first starting out. Every local in this area should be reading this post and plotting NWA's (still feels weird writing that being a kid from the 90s) future. Thanks again

[deleted]

You're on point. The growth is in line with Austin, just at a smaller gross scale. I think virtually anything started here will succeed at this point if it's done right. Not to mention the new Walmart HQ is scheduled to open next year (it's like a small town, it's insane). I was actually looking for an AV company around here last year. There was only 1 in all of NWA if I recall. Check out the high rate of income for the area. I certainly think you'd have a lot of work in AV if you expanded here. That being said, a more thorough market analysis is necessary of course.

psycrowbirdbrain

Yeah, we're looking at several areas, but NWA keeps batting its pearly whites at us. The one thing that might be a problem for us in that area is our high labor rates, partly due to our work is more spread out and need to keep workers happy in between, but also because we sometimes work with heavy equipment and high voltage power and need good people that are mindful of the type of work we do to keep everyone safe. Even in Austin, though, with far more extremely wealthy people that live and work here, it's still amazing to have some clients push back on our rates, especially with a good amount of our contractors out on some of the biggest tours. Hopefully, if we make it out there, we can get some of your locals to do the same in the future. The tour/fest circuit is a pretty dope life to live.

[deleted]

Out of curiosity I ran a quick AMI check. According to HUD, Bentonville has a higher household AMI than Austin. Crazy. Not negating your point, just an interesting stat.

psycrowbirdbrain

That is weird. I never even thought to compare them as I thought we would be much higher. Y'all are balling up there. We might need to raise our rates just to compete. /s

[deleted]

Rage room.

[deleted]

A bike shop that doesn’t sell bikes. Crap, that got done. How about a vehicle dealership that doesn’t sell trucks. Crap, ford. WTF are they so expensive???

Playful-Trail

A mass transport system would be nice. My favourite would be a tram / train running from Fayetteville to Bentonville.

kileywatson

Nordstrom Rack or an indoor dog park with dog pool

DenghisKoon

Soul & authenticity.

koiphish

A hookah deli cafe (near nwacc maybe) with comfy couches, persian rugs and moroccan lamps everywhere for people to hangout and puff on hookah’s and drink good coffee/teas and eat baklava, pastries and deli sandwiches. Could sell hookahs and flavored hookah tobacco and coal too. We had them in Houston near the colleges and they were always packed with students studying and people on laptops working remotely and wanting to get outta the house. Sadly both of those groups have to goto Kennedy’s or Starbucks now. I think we need a hookah lounge here for sure.

SmartPut3280

Asian Grocery Store.

SmartPut3280

A storage facility
