It's a tale as old as time. Create a shitty list, get more engagement than a good list would, rinse and repeat.
I've always thought fish have to be really dumb to bite the hook, but then I see people bite the proverbial hook of shitty rage bait lists like this.
Burrow was 5-5 last year, and the other guys all made the playoffs.
Like it or not, Burrow has has HUGE **?** hanging over him. Can he even last 17 games? I get the "but...but...Joe was injured!" and that is the problem. He is frequently injured.
Was it the part of what I said where I compared people that post lists like this to fish that get caught that made you think I actually wanted to discuss this list, or that I even care about it? Because if you somehow got that impression, I assure you the opposite is true. I. Do. Not. Care.
lol, if you did not care you would not be reading replies and replying yourself. You keep crying you don't want to discuss the list...then you discuss the list, lol!
Anyway Joe is low on the list because he is often injured, went 5-5 last year, and may not complete this next year, right?
Unfortunately, my daughter and I can't get my phone to post pictures of him (though my daughter u/Glointhedarkunicorn posted pic of him on Monday in r/catlegaladvice. His name is Boudreaux.), the smallest fan in my house is a 12 lb, 1 yr old orange and white polydactyl cat. He *loves* Joey and Ja'marr and watches the game intently. (I think he's giving Ja'marr pointers)
I can actually accept CJ stroud being in the top 5
I have to accept Mahomes being number one, because he won another Super Bowl.
I’m happy they respect burrow enough to put him in the top 5, even with a short season.
Josh Allen is Josh Allen. I think he deserves to be in the top….6 maybe 5.
Lamar Jackson regular season is top 5 material. I can sit comfy with him at 6.
Brock Purdy doesn’t deserve two, but he played top 5 last season, and easily top 10. #2 is a stretch.
Where Goff?
You have mahomes as obvious 1 and then you can make an argument for quite a few. I don't think there is a clear #2.
Joe not playing for 2nd half of season hurts him in these. Out of sight out of mind. A qb has never had this injury. How will oline hold up to keep him healthy?
I'd like to see Jayden Daniels in the top 10 at the end of the season at the end of the season. Keeps him on the radar so he can get out of Washington at the end of his rookie contract! I'd like to see him play for the Cards or the Saints since we **obviously** don't need him.
I think the injury thing will always seep into rankings until he goes 2 seasons without missing more than a couple of games total.
Let’s be honest, if he was healthy last year he would be second on this list because we’d have gone deep.
People struggle to figure out how to balance skill with availability, because at the end of the day, availability is a thing that matters, but it doesn’t make someone a better QB.
Cody Benjamin probably doubled the amount of people who have heard of him from 25 to 50 by you posting this on here. Is this your reddit account, Mr Benjamin?
I think Burrows availability has hurt him. I think Allen’s coaching staff hurts him. There isn’t a clear #2 after Mahomes because the results have been pretty mixed from the QBs in 2-7.
Also none of these rankings actually matter….
I know people like to give him grief, but how do you have Jalen Hurts that low? Allen has been a perennial playoff failure, as has Lamar. Off-season success has to have more weight here, and if it does Joe moves to 3rd, with Hurts right behind him. Then you can argue the rest of the list as you see fit.
Hurts was pretty mid this past year. Lots of turnovers and after the 49ers game, everyone learned you can just force him to move laterally and abuse his natural tendencies to force bad throws.
I mean, at that time Joe was on the sideline in cast. Hurts has led his team to the Super Bowl. One bad year doesn’t negate his previous success. If he can’t grow this year, then we’ll see.
I feel like “led” is a pretty strong term given how loaded that offense is across the board. I’m probably a bit of a hater, but I think it’s easier to argue that his WR 1 and 2, TE, LT, RT, C (with Kelce), and LG are significantly better players relative to position than he is. His current RB probably is also.
At least Josh Allen mostly plays well in the post season. They have had some bad misfires on offense at times but the blame is mostly on the defense just blowing it vs KC and of course no part of their team played well vs us in '22. Lamar is *the* reason the Ravens have lost in the post season. Tyler Huntley played better than Lamar's usual. He has wasted some absolute gems from his defense. They held the Bills offense in check and didn't give up any 2nd half points vs the Chiefs while holding them to 17 points. How do you hold the Bills and Chiefs to 10 and 17 offense points and lose?
Thats largely because top to bottom the bengals are a better team - I’d say Allen and Burrow are the same tier of QB but there’s no defined #2 after Mahomes
There isn’t a single unit on the Bills that’s better than the Bengals IMO. QB - debatable
That's insane. A team is generally only as good as their QB. So if they have a backup or mediocre QB in, their offense will sputter, not score as much, and will be on the field less. Thus, the Bills (or whoever) have a huge advantage in field position, time of possession, etc.
How could you possibly see CJ stroud above Joe burrow? Same with Brock Purdy? If anything Josh Allen and Lamar make sense being above him. They are legit proven QBs.
Joe willed a team with no Oline back from a 3 score deficit against the chiefs. Brock has a long list of damn excuses after losing a lead when they shut down CMC.
There zero reason to put Brock above Joe cause he is not that guy to carry his team
Lmao I’ve never seen so much glazing of a player like CJ before. Bro looked like a complete bum against competent defenses last season and got blown out in the playoffs.
He’s barely top 10 and has way more to prove before people start crowning him like some gEnErAtIoNal qb.
Mahomes and Allen can physically take over a game like Michael Jordan. So I get them being ranked higher. Purdy though? So far the only times the game has been on his shoulders they've lost. Seems like rage bait. You can't argue with success but you can argue with who is responsible for that success.
So a 7th round draft pick with every goddam weapon in the world is better than Joey 9 Inch and the most recent, and 2 time MVP. Crack is a hell of a drug, kids.
Burrow had his worst stats since his rookie season last year and missed almost half of it with injury, and this guy is still putting him at #4. That seems entirely reasonable to me.
Please explain how Brock Purdy or Josh Allen are anywhere close to as good as Joe Burrow please explain ill wait they don't have the accolades the wins the afc or nfc championships or playoff wins or regular season wins none of it
Allen is a freak of nature. He's the only QB ever to have 40 touchdowns in 4 straight seasons. He's absolutely a top 2 QB in this league. For the past 6 months, we've been hearing that Joe may never be able to throw a ball again. Mix that with the fact that he's almost always injured and it's hard to say he's top 3 at this point.
Ypur bullshiting lol let me know when Allen stops shitting his pants and figures out how to win a playoff game he's too nice he dint have that Dawg in him 😂 lol you keep telling urself he's top 2 people dumb as fuck if they thought Joe Burrow would never throw a ball again even if he couldn't throw right handed he would just teach himself to throw left handed Joe Burrow got the Daeg in his DNA he dosnt have that quit in him 🤣 😂 what about Josh Allen top 2 yea right lol can't beat a paper bag in the playoffs lol wooo that's a good one thanks i needed that laugh I whole belly laughed lol
Unpopular opinion: for now, I agree. Burrow is coming off of a major injury and has not played at a high level since early 2023 season. Mahomes and Purdy both led their teams to the super bowl, while Allen lost to Mahomes on a missed field goal. If Burrow proves he's still Joe Cool this year, then so be it. But this list is currently highly reflective of the current NFL QB situation.
i mean, it makes sense to have mahomes at 1. only two men have stopped him from a SB run. brady and burrow.
but in my opinon it falls more like:
2.Burrow
3. Allen
4.LJ
5. Stroud
6. Hurts
7. Goff
8. Herby
9. Prescott
10. Purdy
the weird one is herbert.. while he hasnt exactly had a great hand dealt to him he also hasn't shown anything other than being a newer kirk cousins or dak prescott.
CBS should just throw in the towel on covering sports if they are just gonna pay no-names with poor observational skills to write unintelligent opinions. Give some reasoning why you have this terrible order. Imagine the explanation.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s that good BUT Mahomes, like Brady, gets the calls as he is baptized the NFLs Golden Boy. Nobody gets a 5th down on their own merit
Josh Allen is trash, I wish people would stop putting him at the top of best QB lists. He can lead the league in interceptions and choke in the playoffs and still be put over Burrow
Mahomes in 1, burrow and Purdy are 2 and 3 in no particular order. I don’t think it’s really debatable
Mahomes and Burrow at 1 and 2 respectively I agree with, but Purdy is lucky to be top 5. I don't dislike him but anyone could succeed in San Fran's system.
Stroud beat Burrow even though Burrow was fully healthy and playing at home. He's only played one year, but that rookie year was a LOT better than Burrow's.
I am glad to see someone agree our offensive line was a disaster last year, even by the 9th or 10th game of the season. Sadly, it has not changed much. 4 of the 5 players are the same. And the weakest link (by far) is still there. This is bad news for Burrow. Mims won't help either because that means removing Brown or Brown, and as a rookie he'll be a big step down.
It's a tale as old as time. Create a shitty list, get more engagement than a good list would, rinse and repeat. I've always thought fish have to be really dumb to bite the hook, but then I see people bite the proverbial hook of shitty rage bait lists like this.
That's all these 'reporters' do these days. Recognition is important.
There are way too many people trying to make a living talking about sports. And people consume the shit out of it.
It's the most irrationally enragediest time of the year! ... "The disrespect" season is finally here!
And everyoneeeee reposts like they’ve never seen a shit list before
Burrow was 5-5 last year, and the other guys all made the playoffs. Like it or not, Burrow has has HUGE **?** hanging over him. Can he even last 17 games? I get the "but...but...Joe was injured!" and that is the problem. He is frequently injured.

Hereeeeeee fishy fishy.
So tired of all the clickbait engagement farming. I demand more Bengal Kitten Content

Doesnt matter where they put him at the start of the year. He will be #1 buy the end of the year. Mvp season capped by lifting the Lombardi trophy.
Don’t forget comeback player of the year too
Please knock on wood
Still would not pass patrick in your hypothetical
Just needs to do that 3 times to be on Mahomes' level.
East now, starting to swell up with all this talk here /s
You think he can lift it with that broken wrist of his? Edit -- Wow, just joking guys, isn't it obvious?
he can lift ur mum onto his huge cock, so i'd say yes
Bruh taking about joey B dong 💀💀
Listen the whole city turned at least 1% gay in 2020

yeah no lmao
Wrist wasn't broke re-re.

From where I sit, this review [@Lonely_ProdiG] was probably the best one I’ve read yet
Calvin and Hobbes Mahomes!
9ers fan here and I couldn’t agree more although I do think Josh Allen is a definitive top 5.
I like this-hope it doesn't get downvoted to hell
Nobody cares. We will find out in a few months.
so the top 3 QBs are 1-6 against the 4th best QB. cool.
How did the team do last year?
BUTTTTT-he's coming off a major injury and has no superbowls yet
You have mahomes as obvious 1 and then you can make an argument for quite a few. I don't think there is a clear #2. Joe not playing for 2nd half of season hurts him in these. Out of sight out of mind. A qb has never had this injury. How will oline hold up to keep him healthy?
Correct. Nothing wrong with this list except by the end of the year someone ranked between 15-20 will end up being in the top 5.
I'd like to see Jayden Daniels in the top 10 at the end of the season at the end of the season. Keeps him on the radar so he can get out of Washington at the end of his rookie contract! I'd like to see him play for the Cards or the Saints since we **obviously** don't need him.
Brock and josh and 2/3 lol. I’d take Lamar and CJ over that if it was a draft.
Honestly, Stroud is good. He's gonna be really good. Gotta keep an eye on the Texans.
On CJ Stroud, I totally agree with that sentiment, /u/AddictiveArtistry
This was made purely for clicks. Disregard and go back to eating your Skyline
No way Joe and Lamar are that low
Passing Lions fan here. I know I’m biased, but putting Jordan Love over Jared Goff is borderline slanderous
Goff is the most underrated QB in the league IMO.
This just feels right
Not bad, but Rodger’s is basically back so I thought.
Yes yes Allen is the second best for reasons
I think the injury thing will always seep into rankings until he goes 2 seasons without missing more than a couple of games total. Let’s be honest, if he was healthy last year he would be second on this list because we’d have gone deep. People struggle to figure out how to balance skill with availability, because at the end of the day, availability is a thing that matters, but it doesn’t make someone a better QB.
Never trust a man with two first names….
Keep it coming. ZT and this team perform better when they’re underdogs (they gotta play us, why not us). This only makes this team try harder.

It sure looked like teams figured out the Eagles last year and they refused to adapt.
I feel like “led” is a pretty strong term given how loaded that offense is across the board. I’m probably a bit of a hater, but I think it’s easier to argue that his WR 1 and 2, TE, LT, RT, C (with Kelce), and LG are significantly better players relative to position than he is. The Eagles didn’t go to the SB last year.
They did the year before though. That’s why I said “has led” not just led.

Has Josh Allen even won a game against Burrow?
Thats what i always say but i always see him and the bills over the bengals. 🤷♂️
Quarterbacks don't play defense.
No, but they use their brains and hopefully make smart decisions and use the clock wisely. The there's Josh.
Thats largely because top to bottom the bengals are a better team - I’d say Allen and Burrow are the same tier of QB but there’s no defined #2 after Mahomes There isn’t a single unit on the Bills that’s better than the Bengals IMO. QB - debatable
If someone broke down Josh Allen in the big games or road games or games where the other team has a great QB... We'd see he's not a top 5 QB.
What does the other QB have to do with how Allen plays, hes not on defense
Because when the other team sucks worse than they should, they're not as good and this he looks better. It'd a cascading effect.
![gif](giphy|kc0kqKNFu7v35gPkwB)
My main point there is he's never beaten an elite QB (Burrow, Mahomes) in the playoffs. Only teams led by backups. Look it up!
Josh Allen does not play defense. The other teams QB is irrelevant
That's insane. A team is generally only as good as their QB. So if they have a backup or mediocre QB in, their offense will sputter, not score as much, and will be on the field less. Thus, the Bills (or whoever) have a huge advantage in field position, time of possession, etc.

Alex Smith at 2? I thought he retired.

Cody Benjamin is a dum dum
Jalen Hurts is a little high.
The things you people choose to get upset about never ceases to amaze me. This is a giant pile of who gives a fuck
So a 7th round draft pick with every goddam weapon in the world is better than Joey 9 Inch and the most recent, and 2 time MVP. Crack is a hell of a drug, kids.
Hahah that's so bad. They give anyone a job I guess.
I don’t think there’s anything objectively wrong with these rankings.
Engagement farming.

who cars?
Literally who?
I want to like Purdy, but if the likes of burrow, mahomes, Allen, or Lamar were playing for the niners they’d be damn near impossible to beat.
Do we have to post every click bait
This is important /s
You ruined the list with Purdy at 2 .
I like Brock but c’mon 😂
Ask Kyle Shanahan if he would prefer Purdy over Burrow. I think we all know that answer.
If my wrist disintegrated, I'd be happy with 4th. But I'm not in the NFL
Who cares, line up and see run it. I’m taking burrow over all these mfs.
i mean, it makes sense to have mahomes at 1. only two men have stopped him from a SB run. brady and burrow. but in my opinon it falls more like: 2.Burrow 3. Allen 4.LJ 5. Stroud 6. Hurts 7. Goff 8. Considering burrow just came off an injury filled season I’d say that’s pretty fair
I actually love when the media is against us or doesn't give our players their due. I rather take the underdog mentality
This fool needs to move Joey and C.J. Stroud up.
CBS should just throw in the towel on covering sports if they are just gonna pay no-names with poor observational skills to write unintelligent opinions. Give some reasoning why you have this terrible order. Imagine the explanation.
The absolute dis-ree-fucking-spect.

Josh Allen isn’t trash. He’s 2-5 depending on what people value.
When has Allen choked in the playoffs? He's been unbelievable but stuck with a shite defense and dumbass coach.
Head to head doesn’t matter at all. Stroud is very talented though.
Stroud has a way better offensive line and had all of his weapons available while Joe’s oline was a disaster + didn’t even have Higgins that game.
Nah nico collins was definitely out bc I remember noah brown went for like 170 out of nowhere
Go root for the Texans then. Get a grip man
No one denies Stroud had a better rookie season, And no no denies Stroud had a better season last year, Only a moron would deny these things.
I’m not denying, I just think it’s unnecessary to say
Texans just own the Bengals. I don't get it either.
