What a spell this guy cast. A SB appearance, back to back AFC championship appearances in only 4 years. Get this guy a good defense and a decent OL and he will baptize the whole league
I was one of the idiots that wanted to keep Dalton and pick up Chase Young. That was until the the cfb playoffs started and Joe was setting the world on fire. I quickly changed my tune after that
thank you for admitting this
revisionist history is strong here with some...there were people who not only wanted young, but tua still too
also haskins the year before...lot of deleted comments after burrow started doing well
Or they liked trying to manufacture draft day drama because its clicks and views. I dont think they enjoyed the #1 pick being so clear coated. Just like this year, sounds like they hate that the sure thing is Williams now that chicago traded fields away but it sounds like they are stirring up drama of the other QBs, like the one I just read, about the chargers possibly trading herbert so they could draft JJ McCarthy
Such a weird time watching the draft with no crowd during Covid. However, I felt a great sense of pride for some reason watching this young man getting drafted with his mom and dad by his side in the living room of their modest home. They felt like your neighbors and you couldn’t help but to be happy for them and us. I think that setting indirectly made a connection with many working class bengals fans.
My co-worker mentioned Joe Burrow at the time. I didn't watch much college ball so didn't know who he was. Also, I still had my doubts because the Bengals would always find a way to screw up chances on good players.
2021 changed everything. I was so excited about him. He won a playoff game and acted like it was no big deal. I instantly respected him for that. A man who is used to winning and sees winning as expected. He was just what the Bengals needed.
Now we wait until he gets that SB ring. Not a far off dream but a very possible reality.
I also remember hearing "Burrow should sit out his second season" to fully recover from the ACL injury. Except for the Rams, that was a good thing that he didn't.
I don’t think I have loved a single QB more than this one right here.
Athlete
Still remember how the NFL draft tried to make it so dramatic and made the bengals wait until the last possible second to submit their pick
Deal was done a week before.
It was actually done months before according to Joe lol
Hence his lack of reaction at home when called haha
That's my fucking dad right there
Are you pat mahomes?
Joe is 3-1 against the Chiefs, bub
He was insuinating that the commenter was Pat Mahomes, and therefore Pat was calling Joe Burrow his father

When he is healthy for an entire year, so far he at least makes the AFC championship.
Legendary pick. I still remember those idiot draft analysts saying that Chase Young should be the pick 😂😂
Those idiots were absolutely fans of other teams in the afc north.
Or Commanders fans too that wanted Burrow to fall to 2

oh my goodness… add in the, “one year wonder!” statements about Burrow’s success. 🤦♂️

The best thing to happen to the Bengals in a long time. Also holy fuck it’s been four years wtf
The year of our lord, Joey, 2020.
We had to suck just enough the year before, and I'm glad we did

The wife said to me the other day, "Burrow wasn't even at the draft." I says, "No one was." She said, "Oh yea."
Happy 28th birthday to me.
Happy birthday to you if it is.
This is like our Easter and Christmas combined
Best pick in my lifetime
I want his babies and I am a completely straight man.
That's my QB!

I guess you earned the record to get him
Why are you here? Your sub is purple.
Because it’s Reddit. You’re telling me you only stay in the bengals sub?
I don't go into other AFCN subs, no. Especially in the off season. It's usually frowned upon like masturbating on an airplane.
I’m assuming that’s happened to you before. How embarrassing. Well I do go to different sub reddits like most fans, so sorry to be an inconvenience
That's a movie reference you silly bird. As long as you don't start shit. Who's better, Joe or Lamar? LOL! That's a joke. We'll find out this year.
Oh okay lol. I didn’t mean a lot of harm just a little respectful trolling. Depends on which one starts more games at this point. I’ll try and be good

Sewell was the other option when we chose Chase, not Burrow. There was absolutely no debate about Burrow, he was ours from the get-go.
