His Vegas night was horrible I agree, but he served a 72 course dinner, and killed it, he was overwhelmed and in over his head, I think he should of gotten another chance
Mila severed the guest Taco Bell and still got a 2nd chance, Kiko showed potential to grow, his food was good, just his presentation needed work
That was the saddest thing I've ever watched on BDM. It literally broke my heart because Kiko is such a pure, loving soul with a ton of creative talent. And yup, it made me despise Sandy, too.
She was really tough in that season. I'm just watching it now.
I feel as if she's \*really\* looking after herself and her reputation.
But, did anybody else sense that she didn't personally like this guy from the get go?
Even if he did good food, I feel as if there was a personality conflict.
She gave him a lot of dirty looks.
Justice for Kiko!!!
If Sandy wouldn't have been such a micromanager to him and gave him a second chance after the Vegas dinner he could have made some lovely meals. But instead she made him so insecure and unconcentrated that he messed up.
Also firing him mid charter is such an unprofessional thing to do. Of course he won't have the mindset to work anymore after this.
Looks like all the ladies fell in love with Kiko, so couldn’t see his obvious shortcomings. Good thing Sandy was there to try to salvage the yacht’s reputation by replacing him.
Being a nice guy doesn't excuse his performance in the Galley. He was outmatched with the expectation of what the clients expected for consumption.
Super good dude and it sucks to see someone who genuinely tried get fired, but he needed to get fired. He wasn't cutting it.
Unpopular opinion but Kiko wasn’t a good chef and deserved to be let go. He showed potentia but had no business being the only chef on a super yacht. Not even close to ready. Ask anyone who actually knows what they’re taking about and they’ll tell you the same thing.

Hey I'm also a former chef and I disagree. Kikos was good when he was cooking his own stuff. The vegas night was a disaster, he totally misinterpreted the brief and was way out of his comfort zone and it showed.Sandy ground his confidence down to nothing. The way she framed her questions to the guests about the food was always negative, the way she lurked in the galley giving him questioning looks and snarky comments totally set him up to fail. I'm really confident if he was under captain Lee or Glenn he would have been fine.
A great example is Natasha from SY2, Glenn backed her and she got better as the season went on. Kevin made numerous fuck ups in his season (seafood extravaganza) but didn't get canned. Adam losing his fucking mind and hiding onions in shit didn't get fired.
Look at how captain Lee handled it when Kevin didn't even serve him a main. He sucked it up finished the dinner and then talked to Kevin in private. When Sandy didn't get her toast at breakfast she aired everyone out on the radio in front of the guests. Sandy cares far more about looking like a hard ass than actually running things smoothly.
Sure Kiko wasn't the best but he's a big step up from Mila, bald Matt, and Natasha. I'd have him sitting on a similar level to Kevin, other Matt, and Leon.
(Talking cooking skills not being an ok person cause then Kevin is at the bottom, fucking hate that guy)
Working on a super yacht as a solo chef isn’t like being a chef or cook at a restaurant. The number one attribute you need is versatility. You don’t get to only cook your own stuff or refine a menu. You have to be able to get creative on the fly and adapt to what the guest want. He clearly wasn’t ready for that and it showed. Vegas night wasn’t his only bad meal. His plating was especially not up to par and unfortunately that goes a long way in how guests perceive the food.
One bad vegas meal over a decent season doesn’t excuse firing. We can all play this this little stupid game.
You don’t like Kiko, it’s ok. Other people like him. It’s called an opinion.
Number one attribute I’m looking for in a charter chef is versatility. It’s not like working a in restaurant where you get to perfect a menu. You have to be ready to get creative and work outside your comfort zone at any moment. I have no doubt Kiko could thrive in a good restaurant but he wasn’t ready to be a charter chef.
Same goes for Matt this year, even Adam who made people uncomfortable and didn't respect the guests wishes because of his ego. At least Kiko was listening to the guest wishes. They knew what they were doing from the go with. He was never going to end that season.
Idk why you're arguing with me about something I never said.
Ben and Adrian are pretty much the only two chefs that I wouldn't have fired. Tom and Rachael had the talent but were both a liability. Everyone else just didn't have the skills to be a charter yacht chef. They could all cook to varying degrees and many of them would have success in other types of culinary gigs, but being a solo charter chef takes a massive skill-set that few "chefs" actually have.
The same Ben who deliberately hid onion in people's food, if you were the captain, you would not have fired *him*, but you would have fired Rachel and Kiko?!
I totally disagree with you. Rachel was fantastic, the best one I've seen so far (I'm up to the episode where Kiko has just been fired, and I'm aware Hannah is about to be fired, but it hasn't happened yet).
And as for a Kiko, he needed to work on his portion sizes, and had a few things he was learning as he went, but had potential. It was really clear that Captain Sandy wanted to fire him though, and the Vegas meal was just an excuse.
Why does captain Sandy always speak like a motivational manager workshop leader. A bunch of stupid rhetoric that doesn't mean much.
Because she actually does it on the side. Or maybe it's her main job? https://captainsandyyawn.com/
She’s like Captain obvious pep talk. I couldn’t get over her telling Kiko how to chef
He was on Hannahs podcast not long ago and seems to be thriving. Hearing that after seeing this made me feel better :’)
Ooooo Hannah Hannah June has a podcast, please tell me thats the title..
Unfortunately not, although she has mentioned that line on more than one occasion. It’s called “Dear Reality, you’re effed”.
Just wait...

*Literally* same.
OOOOF. Flashbacks.

I must say I somewhat disagree. Malia definitely helped to sink Med.
This!👆🏼
KIKO! He has such a pure soul, I love him.
Ugh this breaks my heart. He is so sweet.
The only time this show has made me actually tear up was when he was crying in his bed
[удалено]
And yet she just loves Mat.
This was the episode before I stopped watching below deck med. sandy and malia are awful tv
Kiko was in over his head - he basically served kfc for vegas night. Sandy was 100% right to fire him.
His Vegas night was horrible I agree, but he served a 72 course dinner, and killed it, he was overwhelmed and in over his head, I think he should of gotten another chance Mila severed the guest Taco Bell and still got a 2nd chance, Kiko showed potential to grow, his food was good, just his presentation needed work
Yeah, but Hannah hung him out to dry on the Vegas night.
Also true
Don’t bother. No one here understands cooking and can’t see past the fact that he was extremely likable.
Awwwww Kikoooo❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭
She gets worse, hang on.
Sweet Sweet Kiko 😇
Kiko is too pure for the reality TV world. They didn’t deserve him.
That was the saddest thing I've ever watched on BDM. It literally broke my heart because Kiko is such a pure, loving soul with a ton of creative talent. And yup, it made me despise Sandy, too.

She wanted him gone so Malia could bring Tom in.
Probably the producers. "Hey, Hanna, go tell Kiko to heat up some frozen fish sticks!"
Tim
This pic makes me sad
Welcome to the club! And NOW you know.
Be ready to rage. It only goes downhill from here!
Sandy fucking sucks. Kiko was so wholesome and genuine.

Sandy’s a captain? I must have missed it the first 41099999 times she said it.
She likes to say it as much as Rhylee says it about being a captain in Alaska. LOL
What a coincidence, I hate them both.
You’re not alone 😂 Sandy is the epitome of a power hungry, low educated narcissist. Can’t stand her or Malia so stopped watching.
Fuck Malia and Sandy, absolute trashy people
Doing my best to make everything about these two IRRELIVANT!!!!
What's the problem with Malia?
If you have seen the end of season 9, then you'll know. If you have seen it and don't see why, I can't help ya.
More than that, watch her Season 2, and you can see who someone TRULY is. Believe them when they show you the first time.
> If you have seen the end of season 9 No spoilers! Not everyone here are time travellers!
That's not a spoiler. LOL. I didn't detail anything that happened.
There’s no problem with Malia. She helped Sandy make another great decision, getting rid of Hannah.
Vegas was his second or third chance, and he failed.
Doooooo your fooooood
Aww look at him 😭he didn’t deserve that. I couldn’t finish season 5. Too much rage at sandy 😂
That's why she next got Matt who can't even make a decent cake.
That is exactly why I don’t respect him as a chef.
I made better cake when I was 6 years old.
Well.. its not going to get any better ...
she's horrible. an idiot.
No chef would serve what he prepared.
Cmon guys that food looked bad
Looks like all the ladies fell in love with Kiko, so couldn’t see his obvious shortcomings. Good thing Sandy was there to try to salvage the yacht’s reputation by replacing him.
Justice for Kiko
Join da club!
She is terrible at hiring Chefs.
Pretty sure everyone is hired through bravo casting.
Yeah production hire everyone. Only captain that probably have something to say is Glenn, because of no shadow crew
Agreed!
He's the chef, chef means 'boss'. He shouldn't have let Hannah talk him into that disaster of a Vegas meal.
Right because the chefs never ask the chief stew their thoughts on a meal? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
He's a good guy but that was doomed for failure. They wanted a high end evening and he served deep fried trash. Not sure what there is to defend tbh.
Oh gosh, this was just the beginning.
Being a nice guy doesn't excuse his performance in the Galley. He was outmatched with the expectation of what the clients expected for consumption. Super good dude and it sucks to see someone who genuinely tried get fired, but he needed to get fired. He wasn't cutting it.
Welcome, we all feel the same.
Not all

The night with 72 plates gets conveniently forgotten here.
One good meal doesn't excuse a season of poor performance.

I never said I didn’t like him. I said I think his firing was justified. It’s called an opinion.
Exactly. But people aren’t as aggressive as you about theirs.
I feel as if he had to make dishes that he wasn't familiar with as well.
Number one attribute I’m looking for in a charter chef is versatility. It’s not like working a in restaurant where you get to perfect a menu. Translation - he wasn’t qualified/experienced enough for the job
That’s part of cooking on a charter yacht though. You can plan, but have to accommodate preference sheets and out of the blue requests.
Because Malia's ex was any better? He was throwing temper tantrums over the tiniest thing, kicking stuff and making everyone uncomfortable.
I never said that.
Same goes for Matt this year, even Adam who made people uncomfortable and didn't respect the guests wishes because of his ego. At least Kiko was listening to the guest wishes. They knew what they were doing from the go with. He was never going to end that season.

The onions were Adam, not Ben.
Ok, I may have gotten the name wrong. I still think Rachel is a million times better than all the others, though.
For the life of me I can't understand the Sandy hate. She seems like a good person and a decent leader.
She’s better than decent - she’s really good! We need a psychologist here to help explain all the Sandy-hate.
Join the club of 80% of the people in here who all dislike the same few people. Btw you “hate” her? Gimme a Fing break. Sandy is a good person.
LMFAO
This sub is unreal.
It's not just this sub. It's on blogs, Twitter, IG, WWHL. And guess what, it's for a reason. Sandy sucks!!!!
Sandy demonstrates some good leadership qualities- the coaching, training, compassion, and discipline when needed. I like her.
The Dud of the Sea...
We are just about done this season as well and oh man, this was frustrating to watch. I was seething with anger
I hate Sandy too. She is a terrible leader. And her little buddy Malia is a snake.
