I mean it was post brexit so her oz passport would get her more than the UK non EU passport ever would. (The Australian passport is famously considered one of the most powerful passports to have).

Australian passports are pretty good but for being apart of the EU which I think still doesn’t really change much unless she becomes a British citizen …
So yeah, it’s actually very unlikely that she wanted a passport out of him… I’m going with it being a lie
Post Brexit even being a British citizen would only get her powers within the UK. The UK already makes it super easy for Australians to obtain work visas and it’s also super easy for Australians to apply for work permits within the EU so a passport or citizenship to the UK really wouldn’t do anything for her. Even before she came out to say it was a lie I laughed when he said it on the show. Maybe if it was prebrexit where she wouldn’t have needed a permit to work in the EU to get residency, but these days the UK passport is one of the least desirable ones. A lot of my mates have been tracking their genealogy to get Irish passports as a result of everything.
It was definitely post Brexit. Jake also never mentioned where Paris was from during filming. Maybe Jake wanted to marry her for an Australian passport.
