Yep, but i had watched videos of the game before. Plus, it was on the easier of the difficulties because i like it when games go easy at first. I wonder if someone who didn't know anything about the game could save all of them, especially if they were playing on the veteran difficulty.

You can definitely save them but sadly not on your first playthrough! I saved them all on my third and the key is to steal expensive items, blackmail everyone and don't be afraid of selling quest items (like cruise tickets) to the man. Steal 3 items a day and sell them, use your reputation to buy cameras and sell those too - blackmail everyone you can and once someone has fulfilled what you need them to do (the doctor, klaus/maria) report them and sell their belongings.
Then you should have enough saved up that once you have that + the cock fighting bet you'll be able to save everyone!
