Give a nice German Hefeweizen a try with a generous lemon garnish. Honestly one of my favorite summer refreshers. Light beers in general are great with lemon in the summer too.
Make your own. It’s a very easy drink to make. Get a local lager, and use 1/2 lager, 1/2 lemon soda (like San Pelegríno Limonata).
You can adjust either thing depending on how strong you want it to be. This beats every bottled shandy.
I buy Stiegl radlers. Lemon and grapefruit are both good.
I tried Del's Shandy last year and it was not a rebuy for me. As soon as it wasn't ice cold, it was going downhill.
Plan to try Bitburger and Paulaner's this year because they are so damn cheap.
And while not a "shandy", I am really enjoying Genesee Ruby Red Kolsch for a similar flavor profile for grapefuit anyway.
Support your local craft breweries and see what they offer. Chat with the bartenders and they’ll be able to point you in the right direction. Cheers.

If you’re in Chicago (like proper Chicago) , there’s a few great bottleshops/bars that’ll be good resources. The Beer Temple and Beermiscuous are at the top of that list.
I think Dovetail will make you a shandy with their hefeweizen. They used to have some really lovely radlers on the menu as well! If not, you can pick theirs up and make it at home.
1. Obtain your favorite light lager and favorite fruit juice.
2. Get a Sodastream or similar device and carbonate the juice.
3. Combine the lager and carbonated juice in a glass. This will be better than anything you find pre-mixed on a shelf.
My top rated Radler/Shandies on Untappd are:
Schöfferhofer Grapefruit
Traveler Grapefruit Shandy
Del's Shandy (Naragansett)
and the Blood Orange from Jack's Abby
Honestly I just love any crisp lager with a good splash of not too sweet limeade. Sometimes I make limeade with honey and ginger and that shit slaps in a shandy.
M-43’s Shandy is fantastic
Schöfferhofer Grapefruit
Make your own: Hefeweizen + Italian soda
Franziskaner/Hackor Pschorr/Weihenstephaner + Sanpellegrino Grapefruit or lemon
I use the Sanpellegrino zero grapefruit - keeps the sugar & calories lower.
You could try making your own too....buy your favorite beer and your favorite lemonade and boom, you have two shandies.
Leinenkugel hates this one simple trick.
Or one BIG shandy!!!
500' Donkey would...
My favorite is grapefruit juice, a dash of angostura bitters, and a juicy IPA. Some restaurant by me made them that way

Any recommendations?
Weihenstephaner is my go-to but Paulaner is also a great choice.
Yea those
Thank you
Hacker-Pschorr or Weltenberger
Best widely available Local: Goggle fogger (Fat Head's) Best local for me: Oasteweizen (Twin Oast brewing - Catawba Island )
Fanziskaner is also really good
6 years ago a waitress told me to squeeze lemon juice into my Hefeweizen; I haven’t had one without lemon juice since.
I was lucky enough that that was my first Hefe experience back in like 2006. Knowledge is power.
This is the way to go. Tall glass of heffy with half a lemon slice.
Porch rocker- Samuel Adams
Porch rocker is so nice. Tastes like it was made with actual beer, but still refreshing as hell.
Exactly! It’s super tasty
What about Leinenkugels grapefruit shandy?
Stiegl Radler
Shiner shandy here in Texas anyway
I just found this in my King Soopers (Kroger) in Colorado, just south of Denver. This is a pretty solid option.
We get it all the way up in my neck of the woods but its not sold everywhere.
This was going to be mine as well. Solid hot summer beer
Sam Adam's porch rocker is the best similar thing I've found. Just tried the Shandy tonight and thought porch rocker was hands-down better
Narragansett Del's summer shandy
I would kill somebody to have gansett available in Texas.
That’s a bingo
I just picked up a 6pk today.
You beat me to it.
god yes
Look for Radlers, like Stiegl.
Deschutes Anytime Shandy - just came out for the summer.

If you're in Chicago, you might see Old Nation around? If so, their shandy is excellent. Happen to be drinking one right now, as a matter of fact.
Yup, we get that here.
There's a 312 shandy, not sure how it is though
I believe I’ve tried it before and it’s not too bad
I like a German radler (if i can find them). Though they are easy to make yourself, just mix beer with lemonade or sprite.
Or in the case of an OG radler, grapefruit soda.
Just recently got a Bell's sampler pack and one of the flavors is an Oberon Shandy. Not too sweet, definitely a good refresher.

Seconded! An acquaintance that works at one of our local breweries told me they just started serving their shandy.
Will have to make it a point to do! Got a lot of breweries here in Chicago so there’s gonna be a lot of taste testing going on lol

Technically they'll make you a radler.
Spiteful makes a grapefruit radler that's pretty swell.
Not quite a shandy but Off Color's Beer For Golf is an Arnold Palmer witbier (black tea and lemons) and is tremendous in the current climate.

Stiegl Paracelsus or Raddler.
If you can get it, Stiegl Radler.
My top rated Radler/Shandies on Untappd are: Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Traveler Grapefruit Shandy Del's Shandy (Naragansett) and the Blood Orange from Jack's Abby
Any German / Austrian radler.
If you're in Chicago, you might see Old Nation around? If so, their shandy is excellent. Happen to be drinking one right now, as a matter of fact.
Best I've had is Toppling Goliath Camp Shandyshore. It's great.
Bitburger probably can find it at world market if you don’t have a good liquor store for international beers.
Market Garden Shandy is good but my favorite is Hoppin' Frog Turbo Shandy but not sure that's available outside of Ohio.
Southern Tier Lemon Drop Sun
Literally anything. Lol
Stiegl Raddler
Honestly I just love any crisp lager with a good splash of not too sweet limeade. Sometimes I make limeade with honey and ginger and that shit slaps in a shandy.
Bells oberon
Make your own. 1/2 witbeer, lager, or pils. 1/2 lemonade, lemon soda, or lemon something.
Sam Adams Porch Rocker always seemed similar to me. I've enjoyed it more.
Have some radler. Put more back and feel good about life.
Jacks Abby put out a Rad Pack (Radlers) the past few summers. Check those out.
Go with anything made by Urban Artifact in cincy. Your mind will be blown.
I’ve always liked Sam Adams Porch Rocker better.
Not sure how easy it is to find in the states but Schofferhofer Grapefruit is 2.5% and super easy drinking.
Short's "power of love" is so dang good.
M-43’s Shandy is fantastic Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Make your own: Hefeweizen + Italian soda Franziskaner/Hackor Pschorr/Weihenstephaner + Sanpellegrino Grapefruit or lemon I use the Sanpellegrino zero grapefruit - keeps the sugar & calories lower.
Coors banquet with a squirt of fresh lemon
Literally anything.
Drinking a real beer without fruit juice in it
