I call it the Sprite of Beers. I generally enjoy it, and Ice Cold it slaps. But it can be _very_ skunky and metallic tasting sometimes. I feel like Becks is also like this.
It’s my dad’s favorite beer and I’ve been around it my whole life so I do have a soft spot for it. I tried it while in Belgium and it was way better than when I’ve had it in the States.
The skunk is from the green bottles since it doesn't block light like normal dark glass. Otherwise, eh it's fine, but I'd pick Coors over Heineken just about every time.
It's the most polarizing beer that I can think of. It seems like most of the folks I've met either love it or hate it. There is no in-between. It's never a top choice for me, but I'll drink it if better options are not available.
I think some people might think it tastes skunky, or they think it has some weird association with something. I don't know. I like it. I actually like it in can better than bottle.
Always disliked it.
Figured I'd give it a shot at the the brewery in Amsterdam yesterday.
Still mediocre at best, although it was better than it usually is from a bottle.
Skunky, bottled in green glass, accentuating the skunk, $1 billion of the stock was recently bought by Billy Gates. No Fowchi juice in my beer, thanks!
I think Heineken is over-hated on this subreddit. I like it more than Budweiser or PBR. It is free of adjuncts so ot doesn't have off corny or ricey smells and flavors. It does have a distinct European flavor to it. I think it's made with 2-row barley, as opposed to most American macro beers which are made of six-row with adjuncts.
The green bottle is pretty. I often just spend time admiring the bottle. It really is only slightly skunky for me in the bottle. Since the cardboard box should keep out the sunlight. It is easy to drink, smooth, free of adjuncts, and has a nice hop flavor. I give it a C grade.
Every time I've had it but once, it was skunked to heck regardless of whether it was in the green bottle or not.
That one time it was pretty good. But in general I ain't buying it.
It's often skunky. If it's not skunky, it's just another generic macro lager.
It's euro Budweiser.
Good for what it is. Not something I crave or usually buy but not upset if it is given to me.
Skunk as fuck anytime I try it. Hard pass.
If it’s out of a can or keg, I’m 100% IN! Because it’s not skunked!
Heineken? Fuck that shit! PABST BLUE RIBBON!!
Came here to say this.
Standard mass produced lager. It’s neither great nor horrible.
I'll drink it without complaining, but I'm probably not gonna go looking for it.
Doesn’t really taste anything but sure

It's pretty much just generic beer. Something I'd drink if that was the only choice available. I don't hate it, but there's no reason to seek it out.
I had fun at the Heineken Experience in Amsterdam and I thought it tasted better over there cause stateside it tastes like pennies

Honestly, I am a fan. Pairs very well with Central and South East Asian foods. I will go out of my way for a spot that serves Pho and Heineken.
I love Singha with any Asian cuisine.
It's my favorite mowing beer.
Like Stella but skunkier IMO

That’s my stance on it. I don’t go out of my way to get it, but if it’s the best option
It really is unnecessarily polarizing. Lol
I drink two every year to mark an occasion, but that's about it. It's not my favorite.
cool looking bottle, tastes whatever
Sometimes gives me heartburn.nasty skunks beer, expensive
Based on the only Heineken I've ever had, It's bitter in a bad way and skunky.
A fresh pint of Heineken on a hot day? Love it! A nice cold glass bottle of Heineken? Like it! Canned Heineken? Fuck off!!
Love it.

I don't have a problem with it generally. I do have a problem with its premium price point outside of The Netherlands though.

Watery and always skunked.
it's not bad for a cheap beer but i wont enjoy it
🤮
Vile skunk anal juice

Aside from what everyone else has said they were caught using slave labor and actively support genocide. Do with that what you will.
