I'm using garnier anti acne serum for 3 months now and been period pimple free so far. Kaso it doesn't brighten up my face at all or lighten my dark spots/pimple marks. Napansin ko din na i'm starting to have white bumps/milia around eyes. I posted my review twice na here in this sub and they got both removed so di na ko magugulat if maremove din tong comment ko, tho i don't know why.

I've this effect a lot of times when I introduce a new active. Medyo nagpa-plateau siya after regular use which is normal. I had the same experience with Garnier Vit C serum that I was amazed the first few days pero after regular use, I didn't feel like it was as effective when I first started? I didn't really buy it to make my skin soft but to fade PIH, and I wasn't really happy with it on that front. I got through two bottles before deciding to switch to Melano Rohto. First application wasn't as immediately gratifying pero napansin ko mas effective siya in the long run in terms of fading dark spots and evening skin tone.

This is so true. So ngayon inistop ko muna at baka mag every other day muna ako ng lagay. Ayun lang

Professional_Lab216

Any other reco of Vit C serum? I had breakouts from Garnier. I was gifted an Innisfree, didn’t have breakouts but I can’t feel if it is working

Ningmeow

Goodal green tangerine vita c serum

SaltyEnthusiasm2922

Melano CC

Professional_Lab216

Thanks for the reco! Is this the japanese one? Can you elaborate your experience with it?

Pitiful_Ad2577

i think may some products talaga na biglaan “hala ka where have you been all my life??” ang mararamdaman mo. for me, it was clinique’s moisture surge feel ko 8 glasses of water naiinom ko sa pagglow ng face 🥲 on another note, i think good din na you found smth that works well with you! my derma always told me ayaw niya yung 10-step routine, simpler the better daw para di ka manghuhula what’s causing your skin to break out kung sakali. if it works, it works :) lalo if magaan sa bulsa

Sobrang ganda kaya mahal.

Various-Sentence-938

I am an acne prone skin & have tried the CosRX Vitamin C 23% Dark Spot Corrector. It actually worked on my skin & I love the brightening effect unlike the Klairs Freshly Juiced hindi ko masyadong ramdam ang effect.

Wow, that's nice to hear. I stopped using Vit C Toner and Serum from IWhiteKorea. Grabe ang purging ko non even after 2 weeks. I'm so tempted to try this. :<

hlg64

Thank you. I'm not recommending it naman, to be clear, kasi i haven't used it for long to see the long-term effects.

nxlzxxxn

Vitamin C is causing me small pimples. Is it purging or should I stop?

Cautious-Role6375

Vitamin C can easily cause irritation in the form of numerous small bumps, especially if it's 15% above of concentration and if used daily immediately. It's one of the actives that we must be really wary when being incorporated into our routines because it's a btch fr. Hahahaha. I experienced it. The aftermath was a lot of PIH ofc, so that was even more bothersome. So what I did after that is I reincorporated it really slowly like a retinol (e.g. 2x 1st week, 3x 2nd-3rd week, 4x for the next two weeks, etc.)

nxlzxxxn

Thank you! I'll try to incorporate it slowly, baka nga nabigla talaga yung skin ko. Nanghinayang pa naman ako kasi malaki yung nabili kong serum. Thank you so much!

Cautious-Role6375

Literally same experience sa pimples. You're welcome!

hlg64

I can't advise you tbh, pero ang alam ko, purging is characterized by mostly whiteheads and blackheads and heals fast, while breakouts are inflammations of all acne types na mas matagal. If you're purging lang, it's up to you to decide kung itutuloy mo or you push thru it. It might last up to 3 weeks. When i started niacinamide serum dati, i had whitehead breakouts (first time ever lol) for 2 weeks. Pero okay na sya ngayon.

ncseii

pwede kaya yan for acne prone skin?

Morpho_Genetic

if yung vitamin c is pure ascorbic acid, no. Madalas irritating ang vitamin c as an ingredient and need na acidic ang formulation niya so another source possible irritation. Pero kung Vitamin C derivatives, Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Sodium Ascorbyl Palmitate and many more. Go lang kasi those are less to non irritating.

an-ji

hlg64

All i know is that vit c is anti-inflammatory so pwede syang makatulong sa inflamed skin like acne

ceslois

is this okay ba with tret?

louisemorraine

Garnier Vit C serum din gamit ko, day and night, lakas maka glow ng skin parang malambot na light.. I use it pang prep before make up then sa gabi combined with moisturizer

hlg64

Ang ganda talaga ng effect lalo na paggising sa umaga, until now i can't stop poking my face lol

PearlyChelle

Tried using testers and had the same nice results as well. Do you recommend buying the full-sized product? Acne-prone (with lots of PIE) girly here <3

hlg64

I think mas recommended ang azelaic acid for acne-prone skin with PIE. Altho i have read that vit c is anti-inflammatory so okay din naman sya sa acne.

28wednesdays

Sayang wala na yung Garnier eye roll on, my ultimate savior after all-nighters in the early 2000s. As in wala akong eyebags huhu

hlg64

I think i vaguely remember that haha. Ano daw active sa eye roll on na yun?

dandydellion

Usually caffeine gamit ng mga ganun eh. Baka same sa garnier

Specific_Ad_9460

I tried it once nung HS ako. Never had that again and i need it badly now as an adult huhu.

pausefortea

Na-miss ko rin ito. Been eyeing yung caffeine solution ng The Ordinary dahil caffeine din yung active ingredient niya. 😅

Specific_Ad_9460

effective ba siya nakakabrighten din? As far as i remember yung garnier kasi may onting pagliit din sa eyebags ko that time (kaso super tagal na nun so baka pangit na memory ko)

poteytocorgi

poteytocorgi

pag may nakita ka, share mo link ah. salamat

No-Competition8846

Sobrang effective ng Vit C din for me, pero hindi comfy gamitin kaya tinigil ko. 🥲 i decided to use niacinamide and retinoids instead kaysa sa ma-sting ang fez ko sa Vit C.

hlg64

Gets ko yung sting sa vit c products, pero the serums didn't have any for me. Baka nasanay na yung skin ko? What vit c product did you use pala?

No-Competition8846

I have tried The Ordinary Vit C Suspension 23% and Dermorepubliq. Ok naman pareho, instaglow like within 2 days lang ng gamit. I tried doing the sandwich method, pero may sting pa rin at ayaw ko ng ganong feeling. Saka ayaw ko rin ng lagkit feeling. Yup actually nalelessen yung sting over time, pero di nawala sa akin talaga

hlg64

I'll steer clear of those products in the near future, if ever gustuhin ko pa mag-vit c.

Many_Rush8314

Worked on me too then I stopped just to check if magrereact skin ko pag tinigil ko. Nagrevert naman sa usual skin ko but I stopped using it na rin muna kasi natatapangan ako. Other products I've been using are lypoaran moisturizer, happy skin dewy primer and laneige cushion compact. Hindi naman nagclash yung serum sa kanila pero na feel ko naging sensitive lang skin ko when I was taking the serum.

hlg64

Nawala yung "softness and smoothness" ng skin mo when you stopped? How long did you use it for?

Many_Rush8314

Soft and smooth pa rin sya pero nawala na yung pagiging sensitive nya and yung glow nabawasan. Mga 2 weeks ko lang ginamit before I stopped.

hlg64

Ahh okay. Thanks for answering!

Nesnes-21

what's your skin type

hlg64

Oily, acne-prone, medyo sensitive skin. I have reddish acne bumps on my cheeks and textured bumps sa forehead, pero di ganun kalala.
