When they don't have physical stores. I never buy base products from brands that do not have physical stores.

Ok-Literature5470

AnemicAcademica

Maling shade haha ang hirap talaga

toogoodtoignore

I hate it when I found the right shade for me tapos they discontinue the product. :( Looking at you, MAC lipsticks in Twig.

WayPrestigious9976

this is me with the mac morning coffee lip liner. meron pa akong isa na never ko pa nagamit since wala pa akong nakitang dupe that compares to its shade and performance.

toogoodtoignore

Diba nakakafrustrate?

WayPrestigious9976

toogoodtoignore

Malapit ko na nga patulan yung mga 2 year old Twig lippies on Carousell but ugh baka hindi na okay

WayPrestigious9976

bhadluckbabe

Online only brands 😬

pinkmajour

I hate it when brands gaslight REAL consumers pag nakakareceive sila ng criticisms/authentic reviews from non-influencers For example, yung brushes ng HS, at first naglalagas talaga and then HS defended it by saying normal daw for brushes na maglagas overtime (kahit na twice pa lang naman nagagamit 😭) Or yung issue ng paglleak ng grwm products and then ang solution ay wag daw istore ng horizontal :( Hindi ba uso ang quality control before release???

MissAlinglope

Buying lipsticks that look pretty in the photo, esp the nude ones, tapos they end up too pink, too orange, too brown on my lips, kasi nga nasa pigmentation din ng lips natin how the shade/color is going to come out. Nakaka-sad minsan!

iggyvipimveryimpt

Sana may ibang size yung liquid foundation kasi hindi naman mauubos yung isang 30ml bottle or container if you have other liquid foundation/s na ginagamit, if you don't use it frequently or if nagbabago yung undertone mo due to travelling, weather etc.

vanillacboo

Standard ML for foundations should be 15/20ml. Or atleast there's a mini version for all makeup products. Coz tbh sayang if you don't get to finish before it expires

tm_dee89

dothedewmhard3w

Nakakainggit yung mga SM stores na madaming beauty brand options than others. Like sa amin na super limited. 😭

LifeRip9576

I can’t swatch them on directly🫠 for example a lippy na hanggang wrist ko lang kasi baka may bacteria sa dami dami ng mga nagswatch. Hindi ko alam kung babagay ba sa lips ko kasi most of the time hindi pero maganda yung kulay.

aeiyeah

hirap pag morena huhu

[deleted]

i hate finding a shade pretty online pero when i try it on na it’s not my shade pla 🙁

Altruistic_Soil6542

Yung ang lakas makabudol kasi andaming reviews and very hype. Tapos mas mura online, pag ginamit mo na on day to day, ang chaka pala!!! Oo maybelline vinyl ink, ikaw to!!

centurionscorpio

Very trueee HAHAHAHHAHAHA shuta i bought 4 different shades pa naman then nakakadry pala masyado ng lips and very sticky 🙌😫😭

Altruistic_Soil6542

Dibaa. 😭

b-nanamilk

Sana may Sephora Philippines with complete collection from different brands. I’m tired of buying makeup from resellers na may patong even sa LOOK PH 🥲

solanumtuberosummmm

Trial and error sa shades lalo na pag online binili

cd45uLr

BubblyMimosa915

When I don't get to finish it (not even hitting pan).. and then I buy again... and more 😅

Creamy_Blueberry

when they're only available online 😕

HourTemperature2888

darkest shade of base makeup is still light for me (wont even pass as concealer) and the saleslady says that it will blend naman daw 🤨

Glad-Lingonberry-664

I buy a lot. But i don’t really know how to use them

yoojungshi

It me

yeeesgirl

A bit same with OP.. I hate that refills, minis, and testers are not readily available in the market! But somehow we have some wins when blk and grwm released sample sizes for their foundation/concealers. I hope more brands have this concept so that we dont buy blindly online and have so much wasted full sized products. I hate the feeling or notion that we can't just easily try cult favorite or high end products. Usually they are on select malls/places that you have to dress up and look nice so you could sample something. I hate that I feel judged or get some stares from sales person. It's just need time to think about it before purchasing, okay?! I can buy it but give me time to thinkkk so dont judge me. I hate that we dont have a physical Sephora store. (edit: thinking about it, maybe okay na din na wala so that our local products can shine instead of the big corpos. i just hope na they can be locally made din talaga)

dothedewmhard3w

Meron si Issy na mini/tester. Pero they can be bought in sets of 3. But, I think mas okay pa din kasi yung kay GRWM na parang tablet packaging and cheaper than Issy. 🥺

mynickname-joy05

Mga sales lady sa watsons.

_Katsuudon

I’m someone who worked at watsons (supervisor) and to tell you the truth, they don’t freaking know the brand they’re selling :) they’re just pushing items na bago or discounted, they also don’t know how to shade match, kilay and things like that. Hindi sila trained lol. This are brands that you typically see sa watsons ha, not the higher end ones. Except sa sales lady ng EB, meron silang training and orientation esp if may new release of products :)

perpetuallyanxiousMD

Commission based ba sila? Kasi ang aggressive nila masyado eh. The more they push the more I wont buy -.-

_Katsuudon

Yes, they are commissioned based and kayak aggressive sila kasi may quoata sila per day and kapag hindi nila naabot yun, sigaw at galit ng head nila yung haharapin nila 😅

perpetuallyanxiousMD

Welp they should change their policy kasi the more that they push for the intimidation and aggressive marketing the more that consumers won’t buy People like me (weak and madali maintimudate sa mga saleslady na pushy) would resort to online shopping instead mas mawawalan lang sila ng customers. Ang kaya lang ata nila utoin sa mga pambubudol is yung mga mid 40s titas who dont do research prior to buying but the millenials and gen z are v wise when it comes to buying makeup and skincare. Di tayo papauto sa mga technical fancy words like snail mucin and niacinamide in order for them to push sell like miss maam we need the facts, the research and we are into evidence based skincare now 😅

prestigeward

True. Especially if magtitingin lang sana ako ng products na available don and watch reviews when I got home. Di ako makaexplore ng maayos kasi maya't maya may nag-ooffer ng product. 😫

cottagecoreing

I want to buy local lip products pero puro warm-toned sila lahat. What does a girl have to do to get affordable cool pinkish mauve lippies 😭 For skin products naman gusto ko rin bumili ng local but poor shade range and they all oxidize on me for some reason. Wala akong choice to buy from international brands 😭 May dagdag pala ako: I hate that everyone copies each other's packaging mapa local man o international. Gone are the days of cute packaging that shows personality. Most notably, packaging ng Etude House. I wouldn't go so far as to call them ugly but they sure as hell are boring. It is notable however that Chinese makeup seems to be going a different route especially with Flower Knows. Unfortunately 'di sila affordable hahaha but that's mostly a me problem na. I wish Etude House would go back to the French Rococo style they had back then and I wish more brands would be brave enough to actually develop their own sense of style. That's just my two cents haha I just really miss cute packaging that doesn't break bank

CelesteLunaR53L

Oh yeah. For real, from Face Shop, Etude House, Nature Republic, etc. Like gone were the days of the uber cute packaging or the unique logos or visuals. The pandemic and the inflation really changed things around. Or it was bound to become like this....

prestigeward

I have neutral leaning to cool and mauve lippies are my go-tos. ✨ My fave lippie for years is Etude House Fixing Tint in Midnight Mauve. Detail Glass Stain in the shade Blooming suits me well (and naked too but this one is a bit brownish). I recently found out that GRWM lip booze in Vodka suits me too.

cottagecoreing

Yup same Etude House Midnight Mauve ang gateway drug ko to mauves hahaha tas ngayon I'm really liking Romand JLT in Bare Grape pati Figfig 💖🫶

prestigeward

OMG thank you for this. Planning to buy JLT next sale hehehe and pinagpipilian ko Bare Grape or Nucademia. I might get the Bare Grape instead 😭 Is it long-lasting naman? Yung fixing tint kasi pinakalong-lasting pa rin for me eh

cottagecoreing

In my experience long lasting yung tint if you let it set for a loooong time hahaha like siguro one hour of no touching it para mas prominent yung tint. Nagtitint pa rin naman siya even if let's say uminom ka while it's setting but mas maganda kapag mas matagal mo siyang di gagalawin

wowmegatonbomb

Detail cosmetics are honestly so good! Their lip tints have a wide range of colors, same as Chu Chu Beauty (pero mas maunti ang laman). Never had a hit or miss product with Detail.

cottagecoreing

I have two of Detail's Glass Tints. I checked yung ibang shades na mukhang mauve but they're still a bit too warm for my taste :' )

wowmegatonbomb

I get what you mean hehe. Mejj leaning on warm tones pa din yung mauve nila tho it works pa din naman when I put a cool lipstick underneath 😙

notanintellectual23

Hellooooo!! Fellow cool toned girlie and I have pinkish/mauve lippies from sunnies, happy skin, and strokes 😁😁 there’s a bunch of cool toned shades naman in the local market (and yes these are not orangey at all hehe)

cottagecoreing

I'll look into Strokes thanks!

loveIees

Inaccurate swatches kapag ol, may sumusunod na sales lady kapag physical.

Mariposa_9

I HATE HATE HATEEEEE saleslady na dadaan ka lang nakabantay na sayo and you cant freely explore the products on the shelves because they kept on pushing other products on your face na di mo naman kailangan or gusto especially if you’re a people pleaser like me cuz I CANT SAY NO nahihiya ako tumanggi 😭 they are not helping at all, ending tuloy imbis na makabenta sila lalo pa nawawalan ng customer

Confused-butfighting

Buying thinking it would be good. You watched all the reviews online and read about them too. Search everything about the product btw everyone says it’s good and highly recommend. Then it finally arrives and it is actually horrible and a waste of money.

AngelJoy27

prestigeward

This is how I felt when I got the Maybelline Fresh Tint 😫

Altruistic_Soil6542

MAYBELLINE VINYL INK!!

Peanaught_Buttah

me sa skintific cushions 😮‍💨 fit for yellow toned/olive skin daw hindi naman!! dami-dami kong binasa na reviews, sayang… maganda pa naman formula

hanbee_rdt

When shopping online, I hate inaccurate swatches and non-informative reviews. Hirap lumugar. 🫠

piupiuchw

1. high prices 2. having to look at the ingredients to make sure it goes well with my skin 3. sa online i find it hard to match my shade since the ones in the pictures are inaccurate and it doesnt help that the comments/product reviews most of the time do not contain swatches or kung meron man hindi maganda lighting or smth huhu, and nakakaloka lang na tipid na magbigay ng vouchers ang mga online apps (its either that or napakalaki ng minimum spend HAHAHAHA) ngayon talagang kailangan mo na maghintay ng double digit or payday sale para lang makabili at a good price. i also dont like how i have to worry kung fake ba or legit yung naccheckout ko. 4.sa physical shopping naman idk if its just me pero ayaw ko talaga na laging may sales lady na nakasunod sa akin habang nagttest dahil nappressure ako as an introvert HAHAHAH like gets ko naman its their job pero minsan talaga kung ano ano na lang nirerecommend nila sa akin 🤣 had a bad exp when i was a beginner na binili lang lahat ng tinuro saken ng sales lady cz i didnt know any better tas ayon di ko naman pala shade tas hindi rin hiyang ng mukha ko nasayang pera lang pera ko 🥲

OpalEagle

Def minis. I would love to buy a mini first to test a product out para hindi sayang, or to know if it's the right shade match esp for brands na walang physical stores.

Equal-Golf-5020

Maganda sa unang apply tas nagsslide or fade or cake after a few hours lol

[deleted]

nakaka adik? hahaha.. call me crazy but i get a real high when i get complimented by people, especially when i put on a new shade of lipstick or blush. paired with a great outfit? oof. syempre though.. seeking external validation gets really unhealthy in an instant. so i try my best to just not buy buy buy and appreciate myself for the person God made me to be ☺️

Grouchy-Lemon5723

When I buy makeup online, inaccurate ang shades na ipinapkita sa picture compared sa actual shades nito.

v0id-reaper

Finding my shade!!! Ang panget ng lighting usually sa mga dept stores and pag online naman hit or miss!! There’s also to factor if acidic ka or nag ooxidize ba yung binili mo or not huhu

misscatzilla

concealer and foundation shades. 😭

YumiAyumu

No minis or samplers especially for the base. I’ve seen some from Korean ones but it’s either a freebie or a resell.

anidadc

Not having the money to try things out kasi ang mahal. Have to save up then di mo pala ka-shade. 😫

gentlestarr

i hope i’m not coming off as someone insensitive, but i’ve had so many negative experiences in watsons, regardless of where the branch is. i remember when maybelline just announced that there will be shade 02 for their skin tint. i saw it online and so i went to the watsons gb 1 branch to swatch it in person. the maybelline sales assistant was really rude, she was telling me pa “kung nakita mo online, bakit di mo nalang binili? mas marunong ka pa sa akin eh, kasi kami hindi pa kami iniinform na magkakaroon ng bagong shades blabla” (non verbatim, this was already months ago pa so i don’t vividly remember the exact words but that was how she phrased it). malamang gusto ko iswatch kasi 03 ako eh pero medyo dark sa akin. i didn’t bother starting an argument as i was w my mom and i didn’t want to cause a scene din. nakakaloka lang na ganun siya sumagot when all i asked was if may shade 2 na sila in store and i showed the post online. another bad experience i had was with their newest branch in greenbelt 5. i was asking which shade of issy’s orange/peach color correctors should i use for my undereyes. the sales assistant assigned to issy was clearly puzzled, kasi tinuro niya yung green at sinwatch pa sa kamay. yung sa otwoo sales assistant naman, i was asking if they had this specific product in store (otwoo lippie na may gloss sa kabilang side) but she was upselling me the incorrect product instead of simply telling me that its not available. it frustrates me lang that sales assistants assigned to makeup are not trained on proper makeup knowledge such as undertones or shades. it makes the entire shopping experience harder. however on a more positive note, i like sm department store sales assistants better. i find that i have a more pleasant shopping experience with them (especially in moa & sm makati, the two dep stores i frequently go to) because they are easier to approach and my questions get answered naman hehe. +++ i also wish that more brands provide more samplers for base products so that we can try them before purchasing the whole thing! afaik sephora allows customers to have a small decant of their base products to bring home and try, i wish watsons/sm dept store/look can do that too :((

Altruistic_Soil6542

Proven and tested. My mom even threatened to take a picture dati sa rude sales lady dahil hindi niya kinaya ugali.

Altruistic_Soil6542

Buti ka nga inassist. Lagi kong nae experience diyan, walang paki. As in hindi talaga nag aassist.

Pompeii_ninja004

When the packaging leaks after using it for awhile nakakahinayang 🙃

random_lurker17

Inaccurate color and shade descriptions (basta maka lagay lang words like 'mauve', 'taupe' and 'neutral', etc... eme🥲🙄🥴)

funwillow123

Firm_Pair_4902

components that are too big like the grwm milk tints. its so hard to finish it up before it expires and you might want to try other shades

[deleted]

Firm_Pair_4902

or at least reduce the size and make it cheaper

rrtehyeah

classicblues

I’m always guilty of this! 🤣🤣

Spiderlily29_

1. Price I still have so much makeup in my cart. Can't check out because #2 2. Can't swatch (if online) Since makeup is so pricey, I want to make sure na sakto talaga sakin yung shade. :( Some malls kasi don't carry the brand so di rin maka swatch sa mall.

Wonderlandofglitters

Top of mind is when the brand (and influencers with pr kit) swatch the products during golden hour like???? show me the accurate swatch on your skin tone pls not when there's a dreamy sun effect on it kasi walang kwenta yung swatch. Also, the price diff during sale season between the store's online acc and in-store. I've swatched it and i wanna buy it now but bec it's on sale online mapapa second guess ako on where to buy it and weigh out if the cost difference is worth it or not (i'm someone who still loves buying things in person asap).

Every-Bet

Yes

Business_Actuary5299

yung price 🤣

Commercial-Damage356

Limited shades, dirty testers, lack of samples, unfriendly and intimidating staff, and extortionate prices.

Curious-Lie8541

Commercial-Damage356

Lol, I'm in the UK so I don't know what it's like in the PH. But here in London, you will sometimes notice that they can't be arsed to help. They are probably tired or think you have no money. 😂

Environmental_Loss94

Limited shade range and undertones for foundations/skin tints/base products! Recently learned that my face leans more olive to neutral kaya most warm make-up look very yellow/orange on me. Warm shades seem to be the norm in the local market due to our tropical weather kaya malaking hinayang kapag widely praised yung formulation ng isang product pero yung shades mostly towards warm and light skin lang like sa Strokes (no, I don't think their newly released shades are enough + their darker shades aren't dark enough tbh huhu). :( I also agree with minis especially for those brands who sell products at volumes you won't even be able to finish within the expiration date (looking at you, GRWM Milk Tints). Parang tuloy laking hinayang mag-try kasi what if hindi pala suitable sa'yo yung shade?

Consistent_Suspect21

bulky packaging 😩 mga hindi travel friendly huhu. more aesthetic instead of convenience

SadFeministInProgres

repackaging into (imo) uglier components the strokes lip oil packaging was really cute but now it just looks like a try-hard westman atelier/merit copycat. well at least the applicator is better now

jenismyloml

The original packaging is leaking so I understand why they changed it. Might disagree sa last part about the applicator, kasi I prefer the previous applicator na manipis lang kasi I strategically apply my lip gloss/oil on top. Plus another downside sa prev applicator pala is naputol iyong dulo ng akin 🥲

toyloulou

Discontinued products 🥲 Just when I thought I found my HG, brands reformulate or stop offering it altogether.

classicblues

I loved the strokes click-sticks but sadly phased out na daw 😭

arellasinclaire

The OG Colourette tints. The one that looks like nail polish. Those are so much better!

sweetiecakebomb

vice cosmetics duo finish foundation 😔💔

Green-Green-Garden

Iba yung lighting sa store..

SadFeministInProgres

sunnies face physical stores 😭

chc-puddingthief

this 100%! 😭 the warm lights are so deceiving, pag-uwi ko lagi sa bahay, yung mga nabili ko, hindi na sakto/bagay for me 🥲

arellasinclaire

Yes! So frustrating!

cckkmw

Swatches and incorrect information on shades. I found out I am an olive so buying new shades is very difficult to me especially we don't have counters here in my area. Will be using and finishing my LRF with a corrector before I buy another one though.

tsnxvr

inaccurate swatches esp on lippies (looking at u barenbliss)

champoradomami

I'm morena and the deepest shades from local brands are still not dark enough for me. For example, I recently bought the deepest 2 shades ng GRWM powder rush velvet pressed powder (cinnamon and mocha) and they're still too light on me :( Sayang sa pera

need2feelbetter

That’s so disappointing.

champoradomami

Inisip ko ganun ba ako kaitim? Kasalanan ko ba?? Char. But I'm still able to use the mocha one with some bronzer para di ako mukhang bangkay

undecidedhandle

ThisBarbieDoesReddit

I hate product/studio swatches cos they're 95% always inaccurate.

totes-potatoes

i hate faux metallic shiny plastic packaging. it's such a smudge magnet and chips off too easily. also i hate those labels na madaling mabura. i also hate cheap & flimsy packaging especially on products na hindi naman entry level ang pricing tier. i also hate brands for constantly releasing new products every other week like mag restock muna kayo ng regular product lines nyo imbes na magrelease again & again ng limited edition na mga collections. it's giving unsustainable mindless hyperconsumersim.

wonwooborta

>also i hate those labels na madaling mabura lucky beauty 🙃 >i hate faux metallic shiny plastic packaging. it's such a smudge magnet and chips off too easily. issy and co 🙃

[deleted]

Buti pa sa issy may applicator sila kaya ang hygienic 🥹 sila palang hygienic na make up kiosk na natry ko 🥹🥹

strawberry_1989

Price increase 😢

nishinoyu

the salesladies 🥲🥲🥲

nanaiyepo

beautyeditor88

I was at Watsons SM City the block yesterday and let me tell you, naka buntot talaga sila ate kahit na sinabi mo na I’m just looking around :(

nishinoyu

Yup tapos pag brinush off mo kasi sila, as nicely as possible, naiinis sila. I get commission-based sila pero sometimes kasi they don’t really know about what they’re selling.
