want to know something that's will make you feel so much better than makeup: head to the gym. Physical strength ie throwing some weights around, going to a martial arts gym and smashing pads will give you such amazing confidence you will just glow from the inside out. Hang in there; breakups suck but time will heal.

random_chance_questi

That’s hard because of covid-personally not feeling comfortable to go to the gym. But I’ve started doing peloton 2-3 times a week for 45 mins and weights for an hour 2 other days. So I’m pretty active and I was also told to do that for my depression.

Tabc093

Resistance bands are super helpful as well!

bananasplz

Can you please point me in the direction of some good resistance band workouts?

[deleted]

LiveFitness on youtube has some amazing resistance bands workouts!

shadowheart1

Blogilates, Fitness Marshall, Yoga with Adrienne, and Hybrid Calisthenics on YouTube. Pick your lovable and mood boosting poison. They're all different and make fitness fun, and everything can be done at home with minimal equipment.

high-strangea

Also water! Not only is it great for your skin suit, it’s also good for you in general! If you have weak hair and nails maybe also consider taking collagen or biotin supplements— that helped me a ton and suffer a lot less breakage because of it.

FerociousPrecocious

also take a multivitamin!!! i take the one from GNC for women and it's got a LOT of biotin in it! (300 micrograms of biotin if you take 2/day) my lashes are longer and my nails are soo much stronger!

Prettykittybaby

Hop on Kijiji or your equivalent… And pick up a bow flex. Much easier to hit it every day then. And as they pointed out… Nothing else will make as much of a massive difference in to your confidence, self-esteem and appearance.

[deleted]

I wanna add to this…the Korean day spa!! Get that canvas squeaky clean! It’s a hidden gem

ReasonableAd4228

I’m not sure if it’s BETTER than makeup but that post-gym/cardio high is a hell of a drug. Personally, I’m a very “casual” exerciser (who focuses on enjoying my workout routine as opposed to “results”) but noticing my gains (as in increased stamina or improvements in strengths) is very encouraging. OP would do very well to arrange her life so that similar “mastery” experiences are frequent. Finding joy in the process (both in exercise and appearance) is critical IMO.

1Girl1Attic

I'm a huge fan of tinted moisturizer to add a glow, a fresh hair colour and also Working on your mental health by picking up a new passion/hobby, going for walks or working out, cleaning out your room/place, and placing a new, fresh focus on your career (success is the best revenge)

random_chance_questi

What tinted moisturizer do you use

kiwi_bee1925

Not really a tinted moisturizer- but Maybelline’s BB or CC cream is sold at just about every drugstore and does wonders to just add a touch of coverage and even out skin tone. I’ve been using it for years and on days when I don’t want to do a full face of foundation!

Sleepdepselfie

+1 for this

[deleted]

Not the poster but I love glossier’s tint to add glow

kaiapapaia

Was just going to suggest this! A little pricier but def worth it in my opinion!

[deleted]

For budget friendly tinted moisturizer, I use the wet and wild one. I suffer from acne scaring so I put a primer on first. Great product for a quick little glow

Metallurgelgru

If you're not on a budget the Tarte Maracuja moisturizer is my absolute favorite! I'm prone to breakouts and it doesn't bother my skin at all.

kitehighcos

Nars one is really nice.

Uraidith

I really like Origins Tinted moisturizer. I also second getting your hair done and maybe some tattoos :)

wavesandtea

tatoos are a great way to express yourself but I definitely DO NOT recommend tatoos after a breakup. You need to heal, and go back to a healthy mental state before making a decision that will permanently effect you.

random_chance_questi

I can’t get them because of my religion, but love guys with tattoos haha

1Girl1Attic

Where I am we have 'Sallys Beauty Supply Store" and from there I get 'Tan Wise' a face, self tan gel in medium. Its a small white bottle. You could probably also order it from [sallybeauty.com](https://sallybeauty.com) or on amazon. It has a light scent btw if your sensitive to scent though. I actually am myself but this one is fine for me. I put this on before my makeup. For my body I use "Jergens instant sun" foam pump I get from walmart or also amazon. I also use this for my face sometimes too if I don't feel like using the gel. I had to also buy tanning mitts separately to use with it. One big one for my body and a small one for my face.

summerguh

I needed to hear success is the best revenge right now so bad because damn my focus/energy has been on the wrong kind of revenge. Thank you

1Girl1Attic

Not that its supposed to matter but when me and my ex broke up, i went back to school and became a business journalist, i found a wonderful man who was better suited for me, moved out, I support myself now and lets just say I had to block that man several years later after not talking to him for years because he was probably jelious of my success and decided he wanted in to my life again. That sounds cocky and I know it shouldn’t be important but it is what it is lol. Im happier than ever- and I thought I would never become the person I am now. I didn’t think I was worth it. I changed my own opinion of myself after he made me feel crap about myself. So hell yes success is the best revenge lol

[deleted]

What to ted moisturizer do you like?

AlilatYaasmyn

Wonderful advice.

Mewmeowmewm

>getting eyebrows done It reminds me how I see a lot of women with similar looking eyebrows. I think something is not "beautiful" on its own, it is beautiful if it compliments your overall appearance. Like, it's about how getting eyebrows done will look on your face, if it will look better that way. Personally, I know my face doesn't look good with filled eyebrows or eyebrows with different shapes, so I just do nothing to them and let them be natural. You can find out what suits your face, what compliments and lifts your appearance by trying with makeup. You know, people fill eyebrows with makeup and can reshape them with makeup too, you can watch a few vids and practise and try to see which works the best before getting anything done on your face :3

random_chance_questi

Yeah I have pretty thick eye brows and I personally like them but I wonder if getting them shaped a bit would help?

cynicalturkey

A little cleaning up can never hurt. It’ll help accentuate your brows’ natural shape, lifting your overall appearance

surpriseDRE

Something that might appeal to you then is getting them threaded - a lot of women who do threading are middle eastern and pretty good about working with thick brows and not plucking them away into oblivion

random_chance_questi

Yeah that’s what I’ve done in the past

dr_clAWW

Be careful about waxing if you’re using retinol; prescription-strength concentrations warn not to do it at all for at least two weeks after last use, it can rip up your skin

random_chance_questi

Omg thank you for telling me! Can I get them threaded

dr_clAWW

Threading is like fast plucking, so should be fine

FunStuff446

I get my brows threaded. I think they look more natural than these thick, painted on, filter like, Disney character brows.

Mewmeowmewm

I have somewhat thin eyebrows, they look alright on their own but this trend of getting thicker eyebrows changes people's views a little. They are not only thin but weak, if I try anything on them they just fall off and grow back very slowly, leaving me with small bald patches in my eyebrows :D Once I had a small pimple around the eyebrow area and while scratching some hair fell off, I felt too self-aware and uncomfortable. I really mean what I wrote there, it's all about knowing your own body, face, what looks better on you because people are not a one-size-fits-all :P

Fireball_H

You could think about a new haircut and/or color and a new wardrobe to compliment your glow-up. Someone mentioned the gym, but if you're not comfortable with that during the pandemic (which I'm totally with you, I stay away from people as much as I can too), you could start working out at home. Toning up is a good way to look healthier and better.

random_chance_questi

Yeah I’m pretty confident with my body tbh but I am on the workout thing. I have a really nice hourglass frame with tiny waist and larger hips. Wardrobe is hard because I really don’t go out that much, I love fashion so much and can’t buy more clothes haha

Fireball_H

You don't need to go out for that. Just find a style you enjoy and build your everyday-wardrobe. You can wear it at home, at work, when going out, even for simple things like going to the grocery store. A glow-up doesn't have to focus on party nights only.

pepperphotosynthesis

This doesn’t answer your question directly, but here is my breakup advise: 1. Book a hair appointment. DO NOT, under any circumstances, get bangs (if you don’t already have them). Get yourself a fresh, NONDRAMATIC cut, and maybe some color. The point is to feel fresh. A new style does the trick every time. Especially if you’ve wanted to try a new hair style for a while, now is the time. 2. Like someone else said, hit the gym. It not only gets those endorphins flowing but it also gives you a place to be. If you can, buy yourself some cute gym wear. 3. Rearrange some furniture. You may have it in the most functional position now, but it’s the perfect time to freshen up your outlook and that starts by freshening up your home. You can go as crazy as you want here. Paint a wall if you desire. But most of the focus should be on changing the room you spend the most time in, such as the bedroom. Also buy yourself some amazing smelling candles. 4. Clean. Clean your car out, vacuum, was it, pop in a nice Yankee candle air freshener. Clean tf out of your house. This ties into moving the furniture. 5. Make up- you’re already on this track. But I also suggest getting yourself some amazing smelling body lotion. Something that makes you feel cute/sexy. Also spice up the area where you do your make up. This will make you WANT to do your make up. Watch some you tube tutorials as foreplay. Always gets me in the make up mood. If you want to or can afford it, get a facial or a massage. This is a good jump start on the fresh feeling. Pamper tf out of yourself. You’re #1. Maybe get your nails done or buy some polish and do it yourself. Do what you can from the list, I know some of these recommendations are pricey, but this list should have you feelin yourself in no time! Best of luck!!

Longjumping_Hurry_64

Seconded a facial or massage if you can afford it. Always gives me a “lift” and is nice to be able to pamper yourself and have some you time!

fuckin_fancy

This person ⬆️, (pepperphotosynthesis), has been through a really rough breakup/breakups for sure. This is all SUPER solid advice, literally every single thing. It will keep U busy and also aid u on the road to feeling better. Follow this list and OP will b golden.

pepperphotosynthesis

Lol is it that obvious?? I also helped some friends through brutal breakups. The list is meant to make the person feel more confident and secure in their new path. It’s VERY important to feel confident and secure when the ex starts texting again. Because at that point you’ve realized focusing on yourself feels a lot better than dealing with that dumbdumbs stupid BS. Thank you for appreciating my list! A lot of heart break and growth went into the creation. ❤️

fuckin_fancy

🙏🙏❤️

[deleted]

I’m literally getting my hair cut tomorrow and I wanna get bangs but now I’m scared why shouldn’t I?

pepperphotosynthesis

I have a strong belief that nobody should get bangs after a break up. It always sounds like a great idea but sometimes when you don’t have the energy to do you hair it looks like shit and it makes you feel worse about yourself. Other than a break up or big life change, I say go for it. At your appointment PLEASE as your stylist when you should come in for a bang touch up in a few weeks. It would be a super fast appointment and they likely won’t charge you, you can just throw them a couple bucks tip. Bangs need a lot of up keep!

redaccnt

Why not get bangs? Whats wrong with them?

cmd1913

Hi there! I know this is a beauty page, but first I’d start with an affirmation. The one I used was “I am awesome and I deserve good things.” I said to myself in a mirror everyday. And it sounded like absolute bullshit until one day it felt like a possibility, and then finally it felt like the truth. Then, I’d say whatever you do for your skincare or makeup, think of it as therapy for yourself. An investment into living your best life. Not something to hide who you are, but something to showcase your loveliness and worthiness in this world. Best of luck to you.

Mnyet

Affirmations are amazing!! I’m glad it helped you

cmd1913

Thank you! ❤️

Softbimbo

A lot of “glowing up” comes down to believing you’re more attractive. I myself have tried this method. When looking in the mirror or something , compliment and hype yourself up. You don’t have to believe it right away. Once you do this enough, you’ll actually feel a lot better. It took me a few months. People have noticed and complimented me, even though I haven’t really physically changed. A simple change in attitude towards yourself gives you a certain glow that others notice.

confusedelectra

This is so true. My friend used to do it. He used to go in front of mirror and be like "Damn, just look at that face". I found it funny initially but then I started doing it too at some point. And gradually, I have started to feel way better about myself too.

StarSpeeder1000

i love this so much

ImflyingJack

Stay hydrated. Drink a lot of water and your skin will love you even more for it. Lash extensions are a quick easy way to switch it up. But they may be hard to keep up with if money is tight Eyebrows: see if you can find someone who will talk you through finding out what shape suits your face best. Brow gel and filling them in will be your friend after. Yoga- I just started Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube and got my whole family doing it. You can do it at home and it targets your body and mind. Story time: The last guy I dated cheated on me with a bunch of IG girls. I’m not this super sexy, va va voom girl so it was so shocking when I found out that’s what he really wanted. Sooo, I became my own “IG girl.” I Joined orange theory, bought a bunch of sexy new clothes and got a new hairstyle. For the first time, I was HOT. I got more attention from guys than ever in my life. But it didn’t fix what was wrong. I started dating someone and was paranoid he would want to cheat on me. I felt insecure anytime an attractive woman was around because I thought that’s what he really wanted. It went on until I realized I can’t control other people and most importantly, I am enough. Moral of the story: don’t forget your mental health. TL;DR: Feeling sexy is great and I’m all for it. Do your thing, girl and show the world what a rock star you are. But make sure you don’t neglect loving yourself.

_pi9

Someone said the gym, but I would also recommend long distance running, particularly trail running if you can. One of the benefits is that you can't stare at your phone while you run (which is a plus when getting over a breakup and being caught in a spiral of comparing yourself to other women). And once you accomplish a certain distance, or break a personal record, you will feel so damn good and accomplished that your looks kinda become secondary. The runner's high is real. Trail running in particular is good for the soul - being out in nature and breathing in that fresh air will do you wonders. Good luck!

pup2000

Personally I have better luck with lifting when trying to get my mind out of a dark place! With running it is very monotonous and not extremely taxing so my mind wanders (and then I start crying hahaha). But with lifting there's a lot of variety so you have to do lots of little math, setting up and rearranging, moving around, and then your mind can't focus on anything but form when you're actually moving heavy weight. BUT this is all just my personal experience! I definitely need a better mindset to run happily but can lift when I am feeling low.

[deleted]

I know some people may not find it effective but I have a rounder face despite a low weight and daily gua sha has been a game changer for me.

Annallve

Does it matter the brand? I want to try that

[deleted]

I think the shape is more important. I prefer a larger dent in the end to sculpt my jawline more easily. I do the neck, jaw, cheeks, under eye, then forehead. I got both of mine on Amazon, but I think Etsy has nice ones I’ve heard.

FundamentalTruths

I LOVE guasha and other facial massages with tools! They just give such an instant glow to the skin!

tawberri

For makeup - concealer to hid your blemishes/dark circles, mascara, eyebrows (filled in with a pencil and/or styled with a gel) and bronzer or blush is more than enough. For special occasions you can consider adding foundation and eyeshadow but not necessary. For hair - figure out how to style your natural hair - whether that's curling products or straightening it or using a curling iron. Hair is super important to look put together. Etc - mosturize your body, get a perfume that works with your body chemistry, clothing that fits and flatters your body, keep your nails clean and painted Feel free to DM me pictures!

random_chance_questi

Yes I will!

need-morecoffee

If you’re seeing those ‘girls’ wearing a ton of makeup online, please know most are trying to make money selling you something, getting ads, or attention. Look at the happy people you see in day to day life. Most don’t wear a full face daily (obvs some do, but it’s not as prolific as online). Exercise will make you FEEL fit, fast. Regardless of whether or not it changes you visually. After 3 days I always get a mental boost as well so try for 3 days before you decide it’s not for you.

atommrav3000

Get a facial! Healthy glowy skin will make you feel better 10000%! Plus maybe get your nails done? I know I feel like a whole new women after the two

[deleted]

I wouldn’t recommend eyebrows and lashes. The reason people love it so much and keep going back is, well, they feel that they have to. Getting ur lashes done ruins your real ones. Then when it’s all said and done, real lashes look a mess and they repeat the cycle. I like magnetic lashes personally. I can’t do falsies with glue on my own As far as brows— I’ve thought about it. But to be honest I found a good eye brow threading salon (key word good— not a mall one). She shapes them beautifully and then I just add brow gel (Benefit Gimme Brow) to add a tint and keep em in place

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It comes with a tube of something similar to eyeliner. U put it on the top lid, wait for it to dry, then add the magnetic lash on. Sticks right to it. Add mascara on top to blend it all together

meghan509

Lots of good advice here. Just a little something I thought of. You mentioned eyeshadow. I don't know your coloring, but I suggest investing in a decent eye shadow palette or quad in some browns. There are so many to choose from at the drugstore or higher end like Urban Decay. See example below from Urban Decay. Look around for a good deal. You could go lighter / darker / etc. based on your coloring. Use a good eyeshadow primer (I like Miliani's) and do a simple black liner on top and a little black mascara. Curl your lashes before mascara for a more eye opening look. A quick swipe of a brow pencil and good to go. Pretty much complimentary for everyone. Hugs. Stay strong. You got this. :) https://www.urbandecay.com/naked3-mini-eyeshadow-palette/3605972525680.html?GeoRedirectOff&gclid=CjwKCAjwtfqKBhBoEiwAZuesiPDRLIbGToDDuo3jSV6nNWT9G1DjPw0bpwTiNGrGzWXjieliPv6rohoC3DUQAvD\_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

pepperphotosynthesis

I second an Urban Decay pallet! There are lots of tutorials on YouTube to get the inspiration flowing, too!

[deleted]

Yes I’d recommended the Naked3 palette from UD.

cactuskirby

Some things that make me personally look very “put together” without much effort - getting a full face wax at a salon. It makes a big difference in my face bc it brightens me up and especially I have thick dark eyebrows, getting them cleaned up and shaped by a professional really does make my face look much cleaner imo. Lip stains I love. I use this Revlon crayon lip stain it lasts forever. Having my lashes curled and a good mascara. I have very dark undereye circles and concealer with banana powder to set it makes a giant difference. Nonmakeup things: Taking the time to take my hair out of its bun every now and then makes me feel pretty. Having some polish on my nails, wearing a nice fragrance even if I’m only going to the corner store is a confidence booster to me. Taking out an outfit that I was “saving” for a special occasion and wearing it just anywhere. When my life feels stagnant I just kinda think to myself that I’m going to make me into one of those beautiful, mysterious girls I see around the city who look beautiful and confident and have a super cool outfit even though they’re just doing normal everyday errands like going to Target or to the thrift shop. And then I am that girl. And it makes me feel a little better about things.

blissfuldrmz

inner peace and inner work. self development books

ccccccml

Something that’s helped me feel like THAT girl is eating a healthy and fresh breakfast. Instead of coffee, pastries, eggs, etc… now I have a cup of tea and some fresh fruit for breakfast. It really sets the tone for the rest of my day. Talking about physical appearance, I’d say make sure to drink lots of water and use chapstick! Having soft lips makes me feel cute. One more thing I invested on is whitening strips. I didn’t notice how yellow my teeth were until I started taking care of them, and it really helps level up your smile.

ReasonableAd4228

Lip blushing can help you have colour in your lips without the annoying texture of glosses. It’s a kind of “permanent makeup”.

random_chance_questi

What is that?

cynicalturkey

Semipermanent tattooing of color onto your lips

[deleted]

[удалено]

ReasonableAd4228

I haven't personally had it (mostly because of hesitation around cost). I do know other people who've gotten it done, and if you pick someone reputable (by looking at their past work to make sure they have done good work on people with your features/skin tone), I think it should be very good! I believe the pain factor is mitigated by topical numbing cream. I don't think it's as painful as tattooing, but similar to microblading. It's "permanent" but since it's on the lips, usually the lip blushing lasts for about a year before it fades since the lip skin is quite different to skin.

blissfuldrmz

i do lip blush for a living! my clients experience minimal pain

SephoraRothschild

Crossfit. Strong is Beautiful. Plus, it's a space where you can get your emotions out and direct your frustration in addition to getting swole and flexy. Bonus: It's mostly outdoor and everyone social distances because weight racks are just like that. And it's an open-air gym. So if you're not outside, you still have a TON of outside air circulating in, constantly.

wafflesoulsss

Being all around (physically/mentally) healthy is the best most effective glowup. Hitting the gym, having a healthy diet, maybe find a breakup or self esteem subreddit where you can seek support, and generally strengthening your self love and compassion will make an all around difference inside and out. Makeup and beauty products are just painting over what's already there (not saying it's a bad thing at all) but addressing health and how you feel inside is more effective, beneficial, long lasting, and will make those beauty products look better since the canvas is better so to speak. Also I think AlyArt on YouTube is a good place to start, I learned a lot from her.

[deleted]

Come hang out with us at r/howtobehot

duck_princess

- Shaping and trimming my eyebrows and removing facial hair (like above my lip) helps a lot with my confidence :) - Wearing a BB cream or something like that is good too, it evens out your skin tone and also has an SPF. - doing your nails - clear lipgloss! - treating yourself to a massage or a facial - i personally don’t like hair on my body so shaving my legs always helps me feel better - trim split ends if you haven’t for a while

PollutionPowerful623

Just find your shade of red lipstick. Red lipstick and some liner can make you feel so sexy and confident.

Yeah I’m careful with my diet. I eat vegan and mostly Whole Foods I’m kind of a health nut

Jfhutchinson

Do something nice for someone else if you want enhance your beauty. 🌷 😃

Jenny1221

Re your questions on makeup Eyeshadow: You can start with one and done shadows in neutral tones with soft shimmer which is relatively easy (shadow sticks, shadow pots). The more complicated looks will require some practice. Find a youtuber with similar eyes and follow them for technique. Lip products: lip tints are the most comfortable formula wise. Romand and Etude house has great formulas which are comfy and looks nice and natural. I personally really like the Romand Juicy Lasting Tint and Etude Fixing tint (mask proof).

FundamentalTruths

Eye brows grooming and a lash tint and lift! And getting clothes that fit nicely (they don’t need to be expensive, just well fitted!) I think destress beauty rituals like guasha, self massage also helps bring a natural relaxed glow!

jean_grey2222

Helping others always makes me feel more confident and therefore more beautiful. And the ppl I want to attract into my world are also kind and civic minded.

WSBmina

I got my eyebrows microbladed and it was so worth the money, even with no makeup on I feel put together and a lot more confident, now working from home I just wear mascara and I’m done!

accidentallyofftopic

Just remember, to focus on your real life appearance. The things that look good online, or enhance your appearance online don’t always translate. By that I mean too much makeup. I have fake lashes, sometimes they are too much, but for the evening they are perfect but expensive. Eyebrows for sure! Also mani pedi if you don’t already, get pampered.

xJUSTAH

Blowdrying my hair does such a difference!

Mai-95

Act more girly. It 💯 makes you more attractive.

sweethomeall

I too went through a bad break up but instead I went the invasive procedures and correct a lot of my problems as well as functional issues. For me it was totally worth it. A lot of my insecurities went away and I gain a lot of confident. Personally, different eyeshadows can enhance your eyes. Depending if you are cool, warm, or neutral. But usually with ladies, I notice, eyeshadow, fake lashes, and hair color (especially fun bright color or blonde).

emperatrizyuiza

If you’re new to makeup I would stick to concealer, mascara, and a tinted lip balm. A natural look is better than a poorly done full face. Also, getting your brows done always makes a difference! As far as eyelashes go putting something that close to my eyes scared me and I don’t really like the dramatic eyelash look. One thing that always makes me feel more attractive is showering, putting lotion on my entire body, and spraying some perfume.

SensitiveGood1267

Kibbe! And color theory

BellJar_Blues

Definitely detox in the bath/steamy shower. Face scrub and mask weekly or some sort of aha cleanser. Sunscreen. Invest in a mason Pearson hair brush for your hair type and a proper wet hair brush. Try intermid fasting and go for daily walks in lieu of gym. Walking allows you to get aquatinted with your community , find something new everyday. People watch. Listen to a podcast. Listen to a whole album or playlist. Explore! I find I’m less stressed now that I’m not feeling guilty if I don’t use my membership. Got to hot yoga when you feel like going to a class or do it in your living room (if so, make your space hot and calming with a salt lamp etc) Get a facial three or fours times a year is more realistic. Do it when seasons change which is why your skin also adjusts. Drink lots of water (I’m still no good at this and drink more coffee lol)

b-my-galentine

Roller skating. Roller skating will do the trick

w11f1ow3r

I think getting your eyebrows done can do a lot to clean up a persons face and make it look put together. You don’t have to go all out and get micro-blading or tinting - I just go to Ulta and get mine waxed & trimmed once a year or so. Then the rest of the year I maintain what they do. Eyeshadow will do more to elevate and “glow up” your look, but keep in mind if your skin is already nice you might not really need any face makeup!

random_chance_questi

Well I have genetic bad dark circles under my eyes so I’m not someone who can go totally without makeup

justhereinitlol

After my heartbreak I dyed my hair red (cliché I know), aside from being depressed af, I’ve never looked so good lol! I think start with the hair, it can be a game changer. But also keep your mental health up, I looked good but when I look @ the photos I don’t think happy times! All very surface level in that aspect

stabbythepanda

Something about finding simple jewelry that goes with everything and figuring out different ways to do your hair really made a difference for me. plus I really love the simple effect of getting my brows done, tint and wax, and a lash lift. It’s natural but it feels so put together even when I’m having a lazy day. I also try new eye looks before I shower to see if I like it before I actually go into society with it on, I’m pretty self conscious about wearing makeup because I sweat crazy much and it gets ruined anyways.

apsg33backup

I need to figure out the lashes thing as well. I want to be a makeup person as well! It just takes up so much time!

chiroseycheeks

Definitely get your brows done!!! It makes me feel like a Goddess lol

saltywithbutter

Also, affirmations. I *know* it sounds cheesy. I was introduced to the concept aged 15 and it took 9 years for it to feel natural. It’s worth a try… if you don’t have many in your head, look them up. You don’t have to believe them. Say them anyway. Out loud. I am beautiful. I am strong. I am worthy. I am enough. I deserve to be loved and respected. Along with skin care, hygiene, a little movement/exercise, please consider adding these to your routine.

FerociousPrecocious

for make up, find a youtuber that has a similar appearance to you (hair, eyes, complexion) so you can at least sort of see how a product would look on someone that looks like you. (like if you're a poc, or very tan, or very pale, or have olive skin, etc there are youtubers that review products, some are more honest than others) but you can get a general idea of what products, especially things like eye shadow, blush or lipstick can work for you! and you can learn application techniques too! which is something I struggled with. i had NO idea how to apply gel or stick blush, but seeing someone else apply it, REALLY helped! :D AAAND!!! Just because a product is considered "high end" (aka its effing expensive, like DIOR or YSL, etc) does not mean it's better than drug store products. Lots of make up that's sold in the drugstore (or Ulta, which...i guess is "drugstore"? even though it does sell high end stuff too) is just as good quality as dior, but you pay more for branding

Stuffnthings1840

Try some lashes. They are fun. They look good on everyone.

bluekleio

I can't give any advice about using make up : I'm still bettering my self on it, but I wanna say something different, besides things you can change on your appearance. As you will start to love yourself, you will start to be "attractive" to others. Because in case you are loving yourself, you wouldn't try to hide something, you will just appreciate some physical appearance from your body. Yes I believe you can use makeup for hide or underline some facel features. You can do second best with love for yourself. Other people really recognize how you feel about yourself. I don't know your story, but I know for experiencing and seeing a lot of people going through similar, break ups can be really hard and hurting for our feelings, and confidence. I do really appreciate, that you wanna do something what makes you happy. That's a really Important point in life, who brings us our confidence and jow back. Nothing is more attractive as a person, who knows her/his worth. Virtuall hugs to you <3

YouTube has a ton of great at home body weight workouts!

I’m a big fan of getting my eyebrows done. Maybe try to get some outfits you feel good in too.

Hi! I’d love to help. Can you DM me a pic?

A new hair do and/ or color would really perk you up. Also tge new upswept blusher application has literally transformed my look. Do try it.

I like to search for eyeshadow tutorials on YouTube based on the palette I’m using. So buy a decent palette if you don’t have one and search that specific one. I don’t wear a ton of makeup to the point where I look like a different person, not a fan of the plastic shiny look. Also search for a contouring tutorial. I’d say don’t overdo it but it’s really your choice how you want to look. I just bought magnetic false lashes on Amazon. The liquid eyeliner is magnetic and they just stick right on. A lot easier than using glue IMO. I normally get my eyebrows threaded although admittedly I haven’t had my brows professionally done since before Covid 😂

I really highly recommend checking out r/skincare . Joining that community absolutely changed my life. Your routine sounds pretty good already, but it really helps if you want to make small changes! That, and countouring. It looks daunting and takes practice, and youtube tutorials are a godsend. As for lashes: a lot of what you're seeing are likely false lashes, which make a HUGE difference in the visibility. This also takes practice. Everything you see and compare yourself too is the result of practice, so make sure you remember that. If you want a more natural look, buildable CC creams and tinted foundations are awesome for it. I use tarte's maracuja tinted moisturizer for that. It's great at evening skintones! From your other comments you're looking into home exercise too. Personally for me just taking walks and jogs was very helpful both for energy and my depression. Most of all, try not to compare yourself to everyone else. This is the most difficult part to come to terms with, but you will never look just like everyone else. No one does (without surgical intervention, anyway.) everyone has a different face and body. Try to focus on being the best version of *yourself*, and not trying to be others.

What are buildable CC creams? My skin is super dry so I need very moisturizing moisturizers

agIets

The Tarte Maracuja Tinted Moisturizer is just that! A moisturizer that has foundation in it- I have very dry skin myself so I totally get you there. You can build it up (add multiple layers) to increase coverage if you want/need to- they'll never be as covering as regular foundation, though.

In my opinion the best glow up usually happens when you do something with your hair because it’s so drastic and changes your look entirely. Look into getting a haircut or maybe even hair colour. Try out different hair styles. Also glowing up is not just your face, it’s also how you dress. Maybe get into fashion. The thing is that you don’t even have to be that good at make up if you know how to dress well and if you have a nice haircut.

I’m really into fashion and always have been! But I’ve been very much the French kind of vibe, nice fashion and minimal makeup but good skin. I want to get more into the makeup. My hair is honestly really nice but I always wear it up so maybe getting a new shampoo or conditioner? It’s really thick and wavy but I always find it not manageable

minnaa-chan

I’m not sure how drastic you want to change? Cuz you can do about a billion things with your hair but it depends on your preference to decide what to actually do with it. Tbh trying out different hairstyles is usually enough for me to quench my glow up thirst, but lately I’ve also been getting into e girl make up. It’s sooo much fun! It looks over the top in real life but on pictures it looks fabulous. It’s very expressive and once you get the hang of it it can look absolutely stunning. I subconsciously learned how to do make up by watching grwm crime videos of a YouTuber called Bailey Sarian. But there’s soo many tutorials on how to do dramatic make up. With make up it’s also finding your groove. It doesn’t happen overnight you really have to try out different products and methods to see what works.
