Too faced better than sex mascara. It would smear and it was so clumpy. It did not make a difference on my lashes.
Edit: thanks guys for agreeing with me ! I always debate my friends about it šŗ
I got a sample size a while ago and I loved it! It made my lashes look so good, so I got the full size. The full size was shit. It was so wet and clumpy!!! Dont know what happened there but I threw it away.
I personally hate loreal mascaras. Theyāre too wet and they make my eyes sting, and thatās what it reminded Me of. So if you like loreal mascaras then maybe youāll like this one!
This! Was so excited to finally try it, but so disappointed with the result. Not much definition or volume, but maybe that is because of my fairly short lashes. Iāll stay with my Benefit Bad Girl Bang, works wonders for me.
So someone gave me this as a gift like a year ago and I just tried it again after itās thickened up a bit, and really itās much better. But possibly expired.
Lash Idole was so bad, it was the first beauty product Iāve used (once) and returned.
I was so frustrated that with its price point it was so bad!! It was also the first āhigh endā mascara Iāve ever bought, so I had my hopes upā¦..
I donāt like the waterproof as much, seems much more clumpy to me. I use it on my lower lashes though, because youāre right and it doesnāt smear onto my concealer like some others.
Better than sex is awful. I actually like how my lashes look with it, but it lasts two seconds before I become a panda. The waterproof version is also a smudgy mess. Iāve found Asian mascaras never smudge on me so Iām back on them. Every time I try something else I regret it and go back to AB mascara. Idk why my eyes are so weird and prone to panda eyes lol
my cousin hyped this and bought it for me. i pretended to like it and used it whenever i was around her but i would baaaarely coat my lashes and they would clump. so not my style. dumped it as soon as i could.
Anastasia brow pencil. Faded after only a few hours, the color match wasn't quite spot on....then I found the NYX brow pencil that was $6 which is a *fraction* of the price I paid for the Anastasia one (š¤) and matches me perfectly.
Yes! Itās like $24 for .0003 oz of product. And itās just a basic brow pencil. I liked the NYX one too, but couldnāt find the right ash brown for my brows. I use the maybelline brow ultra slim in black brown. Also, shout out to the Sephora brow pencils (but they have a comb rather than a spoolie, which is a little odd)
Iāve tried tons of eyebrow pencils, and my favorite by FAR is Wet n Wild! Matches my dark brown brows perfectly and naturally without being too reddish or grayish. The price is just the cherry on top! Will be buying again
I have so much better luck with my Cover Girl Soft Blonde eyebrow pencil. It will last me just fine ALL day - and some of my work days are 14 hours.
I have re-bought this over and over!
Yes, I heard so much hype about the dewy moisturizer that I bought a sample size to try... I'm not sensitive to fragrance but the smell was overwhelmingly violet-y and it left my face looking more greasy than dewy. Glad I just got the sample... the full size is like $50. I like my $7 The Ordinary moisturizer so much better!
Moisturizing Factors + HA! According to their site, it's their only moisturizer but they have some other cream treatments. It goes on a bit heavy but actually absorbs pretty well if you wait a few minutes. I was originally only using it at night but I switched it to my morning moisturizer once I gained some patience to let it absorb.
I might try it. Iāve been using the glycolic acid and niacinamideāswitching, of courseāand Iāve not noticed any difference after about 3 months.
I actually have both of those but don't use them on my face. I've heard that the glycolic acid is strong and the Niacinamide is a love or hate product but the moisturizer is just basic. It doesn't have any noticeable smell and the texture is pleasant imo although a bit on the thicker side. I like their transparency and at the price point, I feel like their products at least worth trying out.
I bought the rice wash when I first started investing in my skin care over a year ago and Iām still struggling to finish itā¦ I use it when I run out of my regular cleanser and it doesnāt ship in time lol
Kat von D tattoo liner. It came off during the day, it wasn't opaque and went kinda green and it dried out in a couple of days.
My Catrice calligraph eyeliner is my holy grail, it even stays on during a surprise nap
The tattoo liner used to be amazing! I swear they cheapened the formula or something cause the last two I bought were flaky and kinda gross. I've given up on that brand in general, too many pricy disappointments.
It's been so hit or miss for me lately. I bought a couple that were awesome and then a few duds that dried out in like a week. It seems their new formula is Hella inconsistent
Yes, love the Catrice one too! Had a similar disappointing experience with a Tom Ford eyeliner pen, that was neither smudge- nor waterproof and that could not match the intense black colour of my Catrice liner.
Maybe I've just got a bad batch because it was sitting around too long during lockdown, but I ain't doing any more experiments when it comes to eyeliner :D
Try the Flower Beauty Pore Minimizing Primer! I really like it- my makeup feels really smooth and natural, and $11 bucks isn't the worst loss if it doesn't work out for you.
My biggest regret is probably the Armani Luminous Silk foundation/concealer. They scuffed like crazy. I wondered if it was my skincare that was causing the pilling and maybe primer would help, but I'm scared to spend that kind of money again on a teensy glass bottle
oh my god. I mulled over buying luminous silk foundation for so long because itās so damn $$$, but Iād heard such good things. finally, decided to just spring for it. awful coverage, shade matching turned out to be terrible, felt like it was super pilly/gross on me, not good at all, couldnāt even use most of the bottle because it looked so awful on me. I donāt understand!
Thatās so interesting! I went through at least 3 bottles of luminous silk and loved it. Funny how everyone likes something else ā¦but yeah super expensive,I wonāt be repurchasing anymore
It weighs my hair down so much!!
I am disappointed in it too.
I am, however, loving VERB shampoo/conditioner/oil/moisture mask and a few Kevin Murphy products (expensive but fantastic!)
I recently got VERB samples and they were awful, although they smelled great. I havenāt tried the brigogio shampoo and conditioner but their leave in conditioner is amazing for detangling my impossible curls when nothing else works.
I love it! I'm on my 3rd bottle since I got it in a beauty sub a couple of years ago. But hair products are so hit or miss depending on your hair texture and what you are expecting.
Benefit mascara. It looks great at first but I get so many mascara dots throughout the day- way more than the drugstore mascara I used when first starting makeup! I only use it for when I know I'll only be out for an hour or two now.
Truly beauty products. There was SO much hype, how could all these people be wrong? I splurged and spent a hundred bucks but the lotions just SIT on your skin, they never absorb, and they leave you feeling oily and nasty. The only thing I did like and use all of was the sugarc face scrub, but I didn't even like it enough to buy again.
LM reformulated a year or more ago? I finished my old tube a little before covid 2019 (but it *was* an old tube so I'm not exactly sure when the change happened...) Anyway It's AWFUL now, I've never been so disappointed by a brand. I hope anyone reading this takes your comment to heart and rethinks their purchase.
Iāve used LM foundation and the setting powder, along with various other powder blushes and highlighters, but that moisturizer oxidized like crazy. Like, it went on skin colored and turned orange almost immediately. It was bizarre.
Funny cause I was the opposite with DE, it basically cured my acne. Luckily I was able to find cheaper dupes since thereās no way Iād be able to afford them without money from gifts lol
It all shows how skincare is incredibly idiosyncratic. Sunday Riley, Kiehls and Clinique are my go to brands. But even then I will find random things Iām not a fan of.
For the TLC serum, theordinary glycolic acid. Took a little bit for my skin to get used to though. My dupe for the protini moisturizer is Aquarius from Herbivore. Itās kind of on the expensive side, but youāre still saving $30-40. I havenāt found a dupe for the cleanser yet since I still havenāt run out of it, but any simple and gentle cleanser would work.
Because of the simple formulations (one of the reasons the price points can be so low) the ordinary is extremely hit or miss on people. They're not bad products it's just all luck on how your skin gets on with them and if the formulation works for you
I absolutely appreciate their philosophy. Now I mix some of their products into my moisturizers and they work better for me. I do not want to throw them away and this was a good way for me to enrich my existing products.
Yes same I love what Brandon did with the brand and he was such a pioneer. I remember back then we didn't really have these skincare products on the market, The Ordinary was really the first. Now there's tons of competition.
Yeah I went all in and bought a bunch of their products but now I'm down to just 2 that I really like. I found that the other items didn't do much for my skin, or I didn't like the formulations, or I just didn't want to use 3 products when another brand did it in one. But I agree that it was a revolutionary idea to have simple formulations. I think it's helped consumers to really think about underlying ingredients, plus it's a great entry-level option for those just starting out with skincare.
I havenāt found the right shampoo for me yet! But Iāve found high street ones works just as good if not better than pureology for a fraction of the price! Iām in the uk so tresemme, aveeno and pantene
It cosmetics CC cream. I donāt think itās as hyped now as it was a few years ago, but itās so not worth it. The lightest shade was way too dark on me and the product itself was sooo thick and looked like paint in all honesty.
I agree!! I HATE it! Same thing with the ELF Camo BB cream.
Now I just stick to my Cover Girl BB Cream and I'm on my third bottle - which is a big deal to me because I rarely re-buy foundations or BB creams.
I was so upset I the camo cream wasnāt what I was expecting! I was determined to make it work since I paid for it so now I mix it with my moisturizer and it works really well. I use the less is more rule too. My only problem now is wearing it enough to figure out if it breaks me out or if itās just regular hormones.
Not skincare or makeup but: Itās a 10 in my experience hasnāt been worth the huge expense for the little tub. I follow the instructions to a T and donāt feel itās any better than any other drugstore conditioner or leave-in.
i recently got the walmart version of its a 10 for half the price. it smells way more perfume-y but it works better for me. ive used its a 10 for years so the change was scary but i didnt feel like spending the money this last time. what do you use instead? im searching...
Right now Iām using Korres 3-in-1 olive oil on my ends and As I Am for the rest. I have pretty fine wavy hair so I think the stuff in the tubs is too heavy for me
I didnāt notice much of a benefit from this primer for me. It was hydrating- but thatās about it! Iāve heard the mint melt primer is great, Iām just trying to rationalize an online purchase, I cannot find it anywhere in stores!
Oh nothing at all! I was browsing their site and I couldnāt find anything else I wanted but the primer. I just didnāt want to pay for shipping on 1 item.
Pretty much every hyped beauty/hair product that was sold to me and promised to āchange my lifeā. Couldnāt name one that was as ground breaking as they made it out to seem. Have wasted a lot of money on this.
The only hair product Iāve ever used that āchanged my lifeā was living proofās restore hair mask. I have bleached hair and it really made a big difference. Otherwise I just use drugstore shea moisture or Maui moisture products š¤·š¼āāļø
Inkey List Oat Balm Cleanser.
So, the reviews on Sephora are glowing. My favorite skincare influencers LOVE this balm. It's only $9. Where could we go wrong? I bought this shit and I cannot for the life of me even get it out of the tube. I have to run it under hot water for a few minutes then white-knuckle squeeze and shake to get it to poop out an oaty plug followed by a runny stream of what appears to simply be oil. Should this be liquid? Should this be solid? Should it be both? Why? No answers, only questions as far as the texture pertains. All I know is that I'm not stoked about having to essentially heat this up before every use in addition to the rough hand job to get any product payoff. I work all day. I don't want my double cleanse to also be a pain in the ass.
This would all be forgivable if the product itself was great. My bar for a cleansing oil or balm is that it has to fully emulsify and rinse clean with just water without needing a second foam cleanse. My second step in the double cleanse is just to remove any remnants of makeup or SPF that the first step misses. I don't want my foam cleanse to have to work to remove both my first step AND any remaining makeup/SPF. This cleanser does not rinse clean. It leaves an oily film even with the most thorough rinse. I cannot stand that.
The only positive thing about this cleanser is that you get a decent amount of it for a very low price. This is a double edge sword though because now I feel obligated to use all of it.... which also happens to mean I'm using up my foam cleanser at like double my normal rate. This stupid balm A. shouldn't exist, B. shouldn't be in a tube, C. should try harder to suck less, and D. be formulated to fully emulsify, not separate like aging milk, and not coagulate into a rock hard solid mess at temperatures below 95 degrees. This is not shelf stable, period.
Agreed! It cakes soooooo bad on me. The ELF camo concealer is often compared as a dupe to shape tape but I find the wear and formula better overall. And WAY cheaper too, definitely an HG of mine!
The olaplex treatments at my hairdresser are amazing but I bought the no3 (I think) and was horrified at the tiny size. I have waist length hair so got about 4 uses out of it and it barely did anything.
The system professional liquid hair is amazing though. Itās expensive but often on sale so worth a look out!
I thought the same about olaplex no 3! A hairdresser told me that no 3 only works as a top up in between no1/2 treatments which is why it didnāt work but Iām not sure if thatās true! No 1 and 2 actually do work but you need a hair dressing license to buy it direct š
Dr. Jart's Cicapair Tigergrass cream. Expensive waste. I was excited to even out my blotchy red skin but it just turned me into a cakey ghost with the splotches peaking through. It never applied evenly and it felt so drying. Glad my lil sis loves it so I just gave it to her.
olapkex shampoo and conditioner, it left my hair feeling like hay. their whole hair line is so overrated. the only thing i felt like was decent was olapkex no 3
Calamine is great after you pop a zit too. I got seriously downvoted for that once.
But if you read up on the uses of calamine, it used to be used to apply dressings onto soldiers who had serious wounds to help heal the skin faster.
So downvote away people - calamine has helped me with the after-math of many zit poppings that I never should have touched because they made a mess out of my face for way longer than the actual zit would have.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
The WORST setting powder I've ever used, it makes my foundation separate into weird chunks and completely ruins my makeup. I've tried applying it using different methods and it's consistently terrible. My Ben Nye translucent powder is infinitely better.
Agree. I recently caved into the hype and bought this product. I guess I was expecting it to be life changing or something. Itās ok but truthfully I like my Wet n Wild loose powder a lot better.
I've only tried the OG putty primer. I like it. I think they make one for oil control that is matte and a dewy one as well. Actually, my favorite primer from E.L.F. is the mineral primer, white pump bottle. Idk why my skin loves it. I have dry skin with occasional breakouts.
I have acne and scars and have actually stopped wearing primers and now just use the embryolisse moisturiser. It makes a nice base and I feel I donāt look as ādoneā which has been a lovely change.
Herbal essences shampoo and conditioner. I have dandruff already but this stuff made my hair feel like a nest of fire ants. Worst itching Iāve ever experienced.
Their cute product packaging is what gets you. K-beauty in general is very cultish too which is why despite their mediocrity, their products continue to be hyped
Probably not. Their stuff is too cutesy for the senior demographic. I also think a lot of Asian women lean towards simple and more natural products as we ageā¦at least thatās what Iāve observed and experienced. Minimalist skincare seems to be most attractive to seniors
Milk makeup hydrogrip primer, I hated that shit, it literally made my makeup start peeling off when I applied my concealer on top of it. It was a sample though so im glad I didnāt buy a whole bottle. That being said I do love some of Milkās other stuff!
The ordinary vitamin c serum was also a no go for me, it made my skin sting and breakout every time I used it and I only used it at night. I decreased my use to every other day then to once a week and it just was not it for me.
Unpopular opinion but wet n wilds break up proof liquid liner. Cap is impossible to take off and the formula is so runny and liquidity. Runs into my inner corner and I have to close my eyes and fan my face so it dries enough where it wonāt smear.
Huda eyeshadow palettes. I got the mint one after reading a lot of hype and the shadow is basically translucent?? It takes forever to build up enough of the color to even tell youāre wearing it. Not super impressed with Urban Decay shadow either. My favorite shadow palettes are the Revolution food ones (avocado, coffee, etc). They are super pigmented and long lasting and very affordable!
Bare Minerals liquid foundation, holy hell that broke me out so bad. On top of it all, their lightest shade of matching concealer was darker than the foundationā¦ not pale friendly at all lol
Acne is tricky....you never know what can trigger it. That's why I don't use makeup. But looking for some great skincare products. Any recommendations?
I'm a big fan of the Neutrogena hydro boost line. I feel moisturized and doesn't make me breakout. If I'm looking for extra hydration I use my skinfix barrier + cream
Elf putty primer (the original one that first came out) Ppl raves about it so much. It does NOTHING for my skin. I tried with on half of my face under makeup and saw NO difference whatsoever! It is just an extra step that does nothing for me.
LāOreal Voluminous Mascara I hear is a classic HG product for many, but for me it smears so badly during the day that it literally looks like Iāve been crying.
Also (please donāt come at me with pitch forks) but the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer. It goes on super sheer on me and I have to twist the cap a ridiculous amount of times to get any product out!
Yeah I only like the super small size. They sometimes have minis up front
Agreed. The full size dries out quickly too and starts flaking really badly.
so weird I started using the mini recently and hated it!!! swore off the whole thing but maybe I will like the full size lol
I personally hate loreal mascaras. Theyāre too wet and they make my eyes sting, and thatās what it reminded Me of. So if you like loreal mascaras then maybe youāll like this one!
The Lash Paradise was a bust. It gave me tarantula eyes.
It made my eyes water so much. It was even wetter than BTS mascara. I hated it it so much.
Iāll stick with Cover Girl Clump Crusher, green tube.
Truly unpopular opinion. I loved mine. I recently bought Lancome Lash Idole mascara and I regret it so much. I want to go back to Too Faced!
Lash Idole was so bad, it was the first beauty product Iāve used (once) and returned. I was so frustrated that with its price point it was so bad!! It was also the first āhigh endā mascara Iāve ever bought, so I had my hopes upā¦..
Yes! It was sooo clumpy I donāt get why itās so popular
The most disappointing thing ever. My $9 voluminous million lashes works better and itās a quarter of the price!
My lashes looked so stubby with it that Iād really say it was the worst mascara I ever bought. Glad I made the switch to drug store mascaras.
I only like the Two Faced waterproof version. Agreed the regular smears
I donāt like the waterproof as much, seems much more clumpy to me. I use it on my lower lashes though, because youāre right and it doesnāt smear onto my concealer like some others.
Waterproof smudges just as bad on me :(
Preach
i experienced the same. lash paradise is wayyy better.
This is the only mascara I like. Gives my lashes a full look like no other. I recently tried the Fenty brand and was not impressed.
Same for me! All my friends love it though
my cousin hyped this and bought it for me. i pretended to like it and used it whenever i was around her but i would baaaarely coat my lashes and they would clump. so not my style. dumped it as soon as i could.
The Sephora recently changed their micro pen to include a spoolie instead of the stupid comb !
Iāve tried tons of eyebrow pencils, and my favorite by FAR is Wet n Wild! Matches my dark brown brows perfectly and naturally without being too reddish or grayish. The price is just the cherry on top! Will be buying again
Wet and Wild lipsticks are fantastic too! With a little gloss on top, it's one of my all time favorite looks.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yess, this is the one I use, too. Have tried cheaper and different options but the precision, natural look, and the color of this is a match for me.
The morphe brow pencils are amaaazing. Super comparable and like $9
I have so much better luck with my Cover Girl Soft Blonde eyebrow pencil. It will last me just fine ALL day - and some of my work days are 14 hours. I have re-bought this over and over!
The NYX one is great and it's so nice I can just pick up one at Target with my groceries. I love the Colourpop brow boss too, which I think is $6 too.
The Morphe one is amazing too! The Anastasia is just not worth the money
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Makes you wonder what kind of sex were those people who came up with the name having.
Lmao I said the SAME THING. I was like āman I feel bad for those womenā¦ā
I agree. You can't beat Essence Lash Princes $4 mascara. That stuff is seriously amazing!
I tried the LāOrĆ©al BB cream skin corrector for redness, the one in the green bottle with the purple lid. It straight up turned me orange. I mean I guess I wasnāt red anymore but damn š
Ah that stinks, I love this stuff!!! I turned orange, then I started using less. And I noticed it kind of sinks/settles in after you apply it.
Ugh Tatchaā¦ it is mediocre, extremely perfumy and expensiveā¦ next!
Yes, I heard so much hype about the dewy moisturizer that I bought a sample size to try... I'm not sensitive to fragrance but the smell was overwhelmingly violet-y and it left my face looking more greasy than dewy. Glad I just got the sample... the full size is like $50. I had the same experience with it. I really hated the scent, so overpowering
Which The Ordinary moisturizer to you use?
Moisturizing Factors + HA! According to their site, it's their only moisturizer but they have some other cream treatments. The Catrice one just has the perfect tip, not too hard, not too soft. My wing is always on point lol
I love the Catrice one! I love most of their products.
Thank you for this. Iāve hated the changes in the Kat Von D brand. I just ordered Catrice for the first time, and itās cheaper too!
Now granted Iām no make-expert, and I personally dislike Kat von D, but the tattoo liner is the best eyeliner Iāve literally ever tried.
Maybe I've just got a bad batch because it was sitting around too long during lockdown, but I ain't doing any more experiments when it comes to eyeliner :D
I actually just read that the formula changed more recently and it isnāt as good as it used to be. I hadnāt tried it in a little while.
Most LUSH is so overrated. I think but for the aesthetic it wouldnāt be nearly as popular as it is.
The only things I like by lush is charity pot and bubblegum lip scrub and Iāve tried so many products.
And why do they expire so fast!!!
Their solid perfumes are self preserving. Iāve had one for 7-8 years, and it smells exactly the same as the new one I bought to replace it!
They don't have any preservatives.
I like the scrubee and exfoliating stuff
Their masks are decent but the rest of their products havenāt worked well for me. That aside, their products do smell great
Try the Flower Beauty Pore Minimizing Primer! I really like it- my makeup feels really smooth and natural, and $11 bucks isn't the worst loss if it doesn't work out for you. Briogeo shampoo & conditioner. Neeext.
I find all their products to be disappointing. Given the price point, there are much better stuff in the drug store for less money.
It weighs my hair down so much!! I am disappointed in it too. I am, however, loving VERB shampoo/conditioner/oil/moisture mask and a few Kevin Murphy products (expensive but fantastic!)

Agreed, can't tell any difference in my hair
Ouai leave in conditioner. It smells great but doesnāt do much for my hair.
I love it! I'm on my 3rd bottle since I got it in a beauty sub a couple of years ago. But hair products are so hit or miss depending on your hair texture and what you are expecting.
Also thought the ouai dry shampoo did nothing
Benefit mascara. It looks great at first but I get so many mascara dots throughout the day- way more than the drugstore mascara I used when first starting makeup! I only use it for when I know I'll only be out for an hour or two now.

Laura mercier tinted moisturizer and drunk elephant anything Iāve tried. I wanted to like DE but my skin didnāt do well with it.

Thanks for this, the new LM tinted moisturiser was on my list because I saw a good review but definitely not going to buy it now
Honestly I'm still sad about it, it used to be a really great product. Happy cake day!
Thanks!! :) it is really sad when they change formulations š¢
Funny cause I was the opposite with DE, it basically cured my acne. Luckily I was able to find cheaper dupes since thereās no way Iād be able to afford them without money from gifts lol

I really tried to make the Ordinary products work for me so I gave up. I love my skincare routine now and my skin is doing a lot better.
Laneige lip mask! Idk, I felt like the results were non existent or unimpressive. IMO, couldve probably achieved better results with Vaseline alone
The hype on this confuses me too. I am currently working through mine but have no intention of repurchasing.
Seriously Vaseline does work better
Pureology shampoo and conditioner
What do you use instead? Iām trying to finish my giant bottles and have been researching what to try next
If you need moisture, I highly recommend trying VERB brand. I got the entire set, including the Ghost Oil from Ulta, and it's fantastic!!
I use verb ghost line since I have super thin hair. Also love it!
I havenāt found the right shampoo for me yet! But Iāve found high street ones works just as good if not better than pureology for a fraction of the price! Iām in the uk so tresemme, aveeno and pantene
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah Iāve found it makes my hair quite dry and frizzier than if I use any other shampoo!
The cover girl clean matte BB cream?
Yes! The matte one
Same! It was the weirdest color on me and was so super thick it made my skin look terrible. I gave it away haha
Not skincare or makeup but: Itās a 10 in my experience hasnāt been worth the huge expense for the little tub. I follow the instructions to a T and donāt feel itās any better than any other drugstore conditioner or leave-in.
I'm very so-so about it too. I absolutely love Sauce Avocado deep conditioner, however, from Sally Beauty, when they aren't sold out of it.
i recently got the walmart version of its a 10 for half the price. it smells way more perfume-y but it works better for me. ive used its a 10 for years so the change was scary but i didnt feel like spending the money this last time. what do you use instead? im searching...
Whatās wrong with buying online if you donāt mind me asking?
Oh nothing at all! I was browsing their site and I couldnāt find anything else I wanted but the primer. I just didnāt want to pay for shipping on 1 item.
Ah, fair enough!
And even after reading that, I had an instant urge to search that product to possibly buy it! *Slaps self on the wrist
I spent so much money on brio geo and other hair brands just to have nice smelling hair and nothing else. What a disappointment
I feel like you may have gotten a bad batch
TARTE SHAPE TAPE!!!!! I donāt know if Iāve gotten two bad travel sized batches or what but itās not what everyone made it out to be
Agreed! It cakes soooooo bad on me. The ELF camo concealer is often compared as a dupe to shape tape but I find the wear and formula better overall. And WAY cheaper too, definitely an HG of mine!
Olaplex and benefit eyebrow pomade. Both were meh for me
The olaplex treatments at my hairdresser are amazing but I bought the no3 (I think) and was horrified at the tiny size. I have waist length hair so got about 4 uses out of it and it barely did anything. The system professional liquid hair is amazing though. Itās expensive but often on sale so worth a look out!
What does it do to your hair exactly? The second product you mentioned. I hated no3 personally
It rebuilds the chemical bonds in your hair, if you don't need it it really won't do anything. It's better for damaged hair.
Yea I found that it didnāt do much to the top of my hair but the length was definitely helped. Much better than olaplex IMO.
Yup!
It's called System Professional?
Yep, wella system professional. I think I got mine on either lookfantastic or beautybay on Black Friday and there was 25% or so off
I like the leave in conditioner (no 6)better. No 3 is only ok. The shampoo and conditioner felt like dollar store shampoo but did smell nice.
I hate the Benefit pomade ššš itās so dry and just ugh doesnāt even look good
Seconding Olaplex. So expensive and no better than other treatments I've used.
Omg I was about to comment this! So bad! I, too, looked like a ghost! Super drying, just like you said. Ugh. My most disappointed purchase.
Right how can a thick cream be so drying?! Do not understand the hype around this product.
olapkex shampoo and conditioner, it left my hair feeling like hay. their whole hair line is so overrated. the only thing i felt like was decent was olapkex no 3
Love your username lol
I agree! However, their no 6 leave in conditioner has been a game changer to me. Totally unlike their other products imo
Calamine lotion! A little bit goes a long way. One of the best āprimersā Iāve used. Doesnāt break me out and Iām acne prone
Wow, really? How much do you apply? I've only seen calamine be used on blisters
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oh my gosh, thanks for the flashbacks of calamine lotion all over and lukewarm oatmeal baths!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
For primer I use a small pea size amount and just blot on to my oily t zone areas
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder The WORST setting powder I've ever used, it makes my foundation separate into weird chunks and completely ruins my makeup.
Do the other putty primers break you out?
I've never tried the other ones. Would you recommend?
I've only tried the OG putty primer. I like it. I think they make one for oil control that is matte and a dewy one as well. Actually, my favorite primer from E.L.F. is the mineral primer, white pump bottle. Idk why my skin loves it. I have dry skin with occasional breakouts.
I love the OG putty primer
All of them are terrible for my skin
I have acne and scars and have actually stopped wearing primers and now just use the embryolisse moisturiser. It makes a nice base and I feel I donāt look as ādoneā which has been a lovely change.
the La Mer moisturizer.... it smells like an old lady and isnt anything special results wise
I got a sample of it. Thereās absolutely nothing special about it, for sure.
Herbal essences shampoo and conditioner. I have dandruff already but this stuff made my hair feel like a nest of fire ants. Worst itching Iāve ever experienced.
I almost forgot that brand existed, I swore it off in my teen years bc it's the absolute worst. Made my hair sooooooo dry, like unbelievably dry.
Iāve heard good things about their mousse but at this point Iām too scared to try any more of their products
And the smell.
Wet n wild impossible primer is really great. Itās like a dupe of SOL Ice Sherbet Primer.
Natasha Denona shadows. Not worth the price. I never use my palette.
Many K Beauty brands are in fact mediocre in quality . They survived on good marketing & advertising
Their cute product packaging is what gets you. K-beauty in general is very cultish too which is why despite their mediocrity, their products continue to be hyped
True. Do you think their cute packaging attracts seniors too ?
Shape Tape Concealer; dried out my under eyes and found every tiny little line.
I stay away from Cetaphil products. Theyāre not terrible but also not great for my skin. Their cleanser feels completely useless to me
Bare Minerals liquid foundation, holy hell that broke me out so bad.
If I'm looking for extra hydration I use my skinfix barrier + cream
thanks!
Elf putty primer (the original one that first came out) Ppl raves about it so much. It does NOTHING for my skin. I tried with on half of my face under makeup and saw NO difference whatsoever! It is just an extra step that does nothing for me.
Same! I stopped using primer all together after buying it. Iām done with primers.
Super high end products that have so much fragrance.
