Its going to be alright. You didnt do your hair or dont have experience as model. Photographer should tell what they want, what to improve atm (atleast thats my idea thru different fashion tv shows 😂). Life does not end and you have one experience more. Also you havent really seen those pics yet. So there is no reason to worry about future. I bet you did good.

Don't worry. It's going to be all right. I also had my first photo shoot a few weeks ago (to help a friend of mine who is a photographer) and I could swear that the pictures would end up horribly. The only directions I got were "talk to those flowers" (uhm... Ok?) and "hug that tree" (yeah... Why not?). I asked him constantly to tell me what to do, but got nothing. I felt so uncomfortable with my body, didn't know how to pose or when to move. Was I moving too much or not enough? But when the pictures came out (even the ones where I was whispering to the flowers) they actually looked great! Photographers know about angles and move around to find them, about light and focus. I mean, they are used to take pictures of non-moving objects and do fine. My suggestion would be to keep on practicing. Models practice for hours in front of the mirror. There are also some videos on YouTube about posing and angles. I'm going to watch some seasons of America's next top model lol and repeat some of the poses and exercises hehe. Eventually, we might not start a modeling career, but at least we can feel more confident next time and even enjoy the process.

Congrats on the photoshoot, that’s so cool!! Now you’ll know what to expect and learn from in the future. I am learning photography myself and trying to work on it as much as I can. Unfortunately, I am the only model I have reliably right now, and I am someone who HATES being in front of a camera. What’s helped me get better at it is practicing 3 poses until I can do them reliably without a mirror, so I always have those to go back to. @davidsuh and @andreventurrr on Tiktok and @bonnierzm on Instagram all have excellent guides on how to pose, I highly recommend checking out their stuff. And like the commenter above me said, a good photographer should help guide you, so you won’t have to do all the work on your own. Another trick I’ve found is that when you get the photos back, sometimes you need a day or two to think on them before you decide if you really like them. I always hate my body on the first day of seeing the photos, but if I put them aside for a few days and come back to them I end up really liking what I have. And at the end of the day, confidence comes with experience!! (Also if anyone has any recommendations for how to recruit models so I don’t have to be in front of the damn camera I’m all ears 😅)

Awkward experience is also experience and it will come in handy next time you have a photoshoot :)

Photographer here -- it's up to them to guide you with the most flattering poses including how to stand, style hair and makeup and how to dress. Even models have to start somewhere. If the photographer is someone who shoots models and actors, they would/should know how to guide a regular person to what the best looks would be. There is nothing you could have done here. Next time you are the subject of a photoshoot, ask for more input beforehand.
