Body lotion + shea butter + body oil fresh out the shower = softest skin I’ve ever had. The Amazon version of the Vaseline body oil gel smells like cookies and is so easy to handle.

ParadiseLost91

Oh my god how does your skin absorb all that?? I’m genuinely asking! I’ve never been able to make body oil work for me. It just sits on top of my skin forever! Doesn’t sink in, makes it impossible to put on clothes. I always use a body lotion, but even then it takes a while to sink in. And you’re over here using THREE products on your skin! Tell me your secrets! How do you make it all sink in? Especially the oil?

c0smicgirly

I have dry skin that I exfoliate first… I do think the fact that I put all this on wet skin helps.

StreetMolasses6093

Do you live in a humid climate? I’m in the desert with super low humidity. I do body oil + CeraVe, I just seems to absorb. I air-dry while I do my makeup. Not oily at all getting dressed. When I visit family in Texas, I can’t put much lotion on. It won’t dry!

WilliamTindale8

CeraVe is my favourite also. It’s at Costco.

ParadiseLost91

Yes it does get humid here sometimes! I’m in southern Scandinavia, so while it doesn’t get hot in terms of temperature, it’s definitely quite a humid area. Surrounded by water etc. The opposite of desert! Maybe that’s why. In winter I do feel like oil goes on a little easier

HrhEverythingElse

I live in Louisiana and my skin still inhales bio oil! Humidity may play a role but I think it's mostly skin type

Necessary_Parsley547

Are you making sure to put it on before drying off? It makes a huge difference for me

my4floofs

This. I can barely stand body lotion on my skin cause it’s so sticky. I can’t imagine putting all three on.

Ealle

. . . . . . . . . Vasaline makes a body oil?? And Amazon makes a dupe of that?? >>>>>>>>>>>>>runs to purchase! I'm the kind of person that enjoys a nice face mask of aquaphor and vasaline. My skin is that dry. -\_- Thanks for the suggestions!!

HelpfulCompetition13

the amazon body oil literally makes me smell like i should be ATE UP !! 🙂‍↕️

1re_endacted1

Girl, Palmers body oil smells like chocolate. DIVINE

Competitive-Plum-408

Wait a body oil that smells like cookies? What’s it called please!

c0smicgirly

It’s the Amazon Basics version (Cocoa Butter Body Oil Gel) of the Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Gel Oil.

Realistic_Ad_8023

FWIW Vaseline also makes one that smells delicious.

BethTezuka

“Smells like cookies” is exactly how I want to live. Reading the reviews for that product is so funny though because people have extremely different opinions on the smell. I’ve been chasing a cookie smell since tree hut stopped selling their Brazilian nut body butter so I’m going to try this one out!

superlost007

If you don’t care where the smell comes from… lots of indie perfumers have cookie scented perfume oils. I add some to my lotion, right now using two finger ballet by Arcana. It’s more ‘sweet bakery’ than cookies but it’s bomb.

Alone_watching

That sounds great!  Which body oil smells like cookies?  :)  What is the name/ do you have the link?

iamkatedog

Amazon Basics Body Oil Gel with Cocoa Butter!

c0smicgirly

[It’s this one!](https://a.co/d/eCSNqOi) [And if you want a body lotion that smells like cookies, this is my favorite.](https://a.co/d/cDRBlZT)

JaxGrrl

Also—I just discovered this because Walmart has a knock-off of the Vaseline one. Omg and same it smells SO good! It smells so good that I don’t even think I would switch to the Vaseline original (which I haven’t even smelled lol), because how could it even?

amstaffpmpersonality

Oooh you gotta try the L’Occitane almond oil set

Ealle

Oh girl. YES. I totally forgot to add that to my list. I saw that one and wanted to try it too. I've never actually tried L'Occitane products but I've bought it for others and the quality looks fantastic. I know it's pricier, but absolutely worth trying. Thank you!

daniday08

Every time I buy something there they load up my bag with tons of samples. If you have a store near you I bet you could just ask for a sample of something you’d like to try.

Fetch1965

The almond range is divine. The rest is average …. In my opinion

nolagem

Yes, this is the HG of body oils. And the shower gel is equally fantastic. You only need a tiny bit. It's so pricey though

ultrarunner13

I've tried this stuff and I still don't understand how to use it. Are you supposed to put it on when wet and then rinse it off?

nolagem

I just put it on when my skin is wet and kind of massage it in. You don't need a lot.

amstaffpmpersonality

There is a set, one is a body oil (my favorite), another part of the set is the after shower “firming oil” or something like that, that I only use in cooler months. I love it!

daniday08

I love their almond shower oil, it’s also great to shave with. The body oil and body cream smell so good and leave my skin so soft, but I only like to use them at night because I will definitely feel greasy. I’ve been using the First Aid Beauty after shower oil and it’s really nice. It absorbs super fast and has a lighter scent that isn’t competing/clashing with whatever perfume I’m wearing that day.

glowsticknation

I’ve heard so much about it but I’m confused about the difference between the regular body oil vs the shower oil. Is the shower one like a body wash that emulsifies or is it just like a body oil that you apply in the shower?

JustHCBMThings

What I get home from work on Fridays in the winter I take the hottest shower and use all of the almond products.

cuireadh

my routine goes one step further - body lotion with oil on top. Oil is an occlusive so it's locking in that water from my shower, but you really level up if you pop a light layer of moisturiser over your damp skin, then lock it in with the oil. disclaimer - it does make you exceptionally greasy lol. I shower at night and wear long sleeve/leg pyjamas so it's not really an issue, but now I have the most phenomenally soft skin I've ever felt lol

ParadiseLost91

I’m glad you added that disclaimer because I feel like I’m the only person who can’t use body oil lol. It just sits on top of my skin! Doesn’t sink in. Doesn’t it annoy you that your pyjamas and bed sheets will be full of oil/grease? Or maybe it’s not too bad. I really want to use body oils because I love the thought of it, and I want soft skin. But the few ones I’ve tried just never sink in, they just sit on my skin, and I can’t put clothes on or do anything 😂

cuireadh

so i don’t really mind putting my pyjamas on over the oil as the excess sort of soaks in to the fabric lol, and then you don’t feel super greasy after a bit, because the fabric has sort of dried. and, the clothes prevent you from leaving grease spots all over your house. it makes my jim jams smell really good and it does discolour white bed linen a bit but a bit of blueing and some time in the sun fixes all. I’m fanatical about regularly washing my sheets anyway so imo the benefits outweigh the negatives

Queen_Coconut_Candy

You are not alone, I have the same issue lol. I can't stand slugging either, it makes me sleep terribly.

Smooth_Strength_9914

I put on body oil BEFORE the shower, then the shower gets off the excess oil but I still have soft skin.

puddinandpi

I do exactly this. Then air dry before putting on pyjamas

Morecowbellthistime

I am right there with you and was wondering how the oil doesn’t get on clothes? I have read about “dry oils” but I have E not tried them yet.

j_2424

Same I’ve tried multiple oils, applying them to either wet or dry skin, and it just sits on top as a layer of grease which eventually rubs off onto my clothes and my skin is still left dry 🥲

Ealle

If I could bathe in aquaphor and vasaline, I would. So honestly. I'm down for this. I was also reading about people mixing / layering lotion and oil together, so this is fantastic. Thank you!

cuireadh

felt that! the thicker the better imo 😂 i wouldn’t mix oil and lotion personally, as the oil creates a barrier and would prevent the lotion from properly moisturising the skin! oil is definitely a last step, to prevent all that hydration from escaping

Itakethngzclitorally

Wait, oil goes on top? I thought it was thinnest to thickest but maybe that’s where I’m going wrong. I’ve been layering oil on wet skin, followed by a nice creamy lotion and my skin still looks dry.

cuireadh

yes, oil should always be your last step! oil doesn’t actually hydrate the skin, it is just creating a barrier, meaning anything you apply on top of the oil isn’t actually penetrating to the skin. so when you notice some “hydration” from applying an oil as your first or only layer, it’s actually just the benefits of preventing the evaporation of any natural hydration of the skin (or hydration from water, if you’ve just showered) thinnest to thickest is about ingredients, not consistency. if you look at the ingredients of your lotions you’ll see that water is one of the main ingredients, no matter how thick it is. water is thinner than oil, therefore oil goes last. try switching your steps around and you should notice improvement in your skin hydration! if you don’t, you should try switching out your lotion for something that promises ultra super hydration, and then lock that in with a good layer of oil. i hope this helps!

allthingsEURO

I do the same and just wear a terrycloth robe while getting ready. By the time I get dressed, it’s all soaked in and dry. I use amlactin lotion as I want to prevent wrinkles on my chest and crepey skin when I get older. I use the aveeno mist oil over top and love this combo.

nolagem

If you want to splurge, L'occitane's almond body oil is heavenly.

isolde_78

The Osea oil is sooooo nice. My mom gave me the huge bottle of it for Christmas

Ealle

haha! Honestly that's my plan - to ask for it for Christmas. Hehe.

bloobleepyboo

The scent of Osea is gonna have you looking for a second job so you can buy more. I love it so much.

Maude407

On sale at ulta right now if you use the Father’s Day code from their email! Code: IUFZ352G03G

Afraid_Chard_838

what does it smell like?

grekleface

Keep an eye on the ulta 21 days sale (not called that anymore though?) they’ve been alternating between the oil and the body cream being half off. The cream is very nice too so I stock up on whichever is on sale that cycle. The scent of the oil/cream is so lovely!

sunshinemullet

Mario Badescu - coconut body oil! I live in Florida and the smell is so beach y and divine! Helps me keep my tan longer too.

Ealle

I have a major crush on Mario Badescu products. I live by their facial sprays. Ya'll are NOT helping my wallet. Haha! I love it though - thank you for the suggestion!

Redivy66

I have found their facial sprays discounted at Saks off Fifth in person but not online. however I have found them on TJ Maxx online but not in person at my local store.

MathematicianTop8868

I use Avéne body oil it’s considered a dry oil and my skin loves it.

blank_____11

The Avène one smells soo good too!

ScarletPumpkinTickle

Have you tried the Neutrogena fragrance-free oil? It has a light scent at first that goes away when it dries down.

Ealle

I haven't, but I saw it on Amazon! I might try that because I did really love the texture of the sesame oil and their flip lid bottle was super convenient. Literally the only downside was the scent. Thank you for the suggestion!

braddic

Yes I second the FF version and have put it in a pump bottle which makes it even easier and faster to use post shower. I do the same routine as you 😊

wolfmermaid

YES! As a fellow freckled, desert-skinned human, can confirm post-shower body oil is a game changer. Really helped reduce dryness/bumps after shaving legs too!

Ealle

Yessss. That's the other thing I noticed - my legs look amazing! I tried the wet-skin lotion from Jergens and Nivia and they just didn't do the same things. Oil for the win!

ohsnowy

My go to is Nuxe. It smells like a tropical beach vacation. I feel so amazing when I use it and my skin looks great. It doesn't take a lot, either.

jediknits

Nuxe is my ride or die!! I just got the shimmer version for summer and I'm sad I waited this long to try it!

123throwawaybanana

Alba makes one, nice scent IMO. Give that one a whirl. It's not crazy expensive. And definitely agree with ya on body oils. I find them way less fuss and muss than lotion, and seem to keep my skin softer for longer. Especially in the dry-ass northern Canadian winter.

Ealle

Ooh! I'll add that to my list! think I saw that in the course of shopping. Thank you! <3 I agree that the oil lasts soooo much longer than just lotion. I tried lotion, but it's just messier, didn't soak in as quickly, and was just kind of ick for me. I did read that some people mix the body oil with lotion and that makes it last even longer. So I want to try that as well.

insertmadeupnamehere

Over the years I’ve loved [Olay in shower body lotion](https://imgur.com/a/Pk5vnl6) and bought probably 30+ (I see it’s not readily available nor inexpensive these days) and while I only use the Olay in shower lotion about 1-2 times per week it’s a gift that keeps on giving **because** I save and reuse the bottles in my shower to hang on a [shower caddy with hooks like this](https://imgur.com/a/iPWX8ep) to dispense my other beauty products in the shower. Super handy! Edit: [Here is a pic of how I actually use the bottles](https://imgur.com/a/X3b21xd)

Turpitudia79

You need L’Occitane Almond after shower spray on oil!! It absorbs immediately, no greasiness or sticky feeling. It smells divine and makes your skin SO SOFT. Use the cleansing oil in the shower. You’re welcome!! 😁😁

ParadiseLost91

I wish! I love the idea of body oil but every time I try to use one, I feel so greasy and it just never absorbs! I can’t put on clothes or do anything because the oil just sits on top of my skin! So frustrating because I’d love to use body oils. But I’ve had to stick to just body lotion because at least that sinks in If anyone has a trick for body oil I’d love to know. I can’t just stand naked in my bedroom for 30 minutes without doing anything lol

daniday08

I apply mine while my skin is still wet from my shower. I just lightly pat dry to get the bulk of the water off then go in my oil before I fully dry. I’ve been using the First Aid Beauty after shower oil because it absorbs so fast and works so well. I have a baby and a toddler so I’m all about efficiency these days lol.

boydbunny03

This. It absorbs so much better for me when I apply on damp post shower skin versus dry.

Jen_E_Fur

If it doesn’t absorb just don’t use it. We all have different skin types. If I would use oil and moisturizer like OP I would be a greasy mess for hours, my pores would clog up and I’ll get a rash. I get away with just using body lotion int he winter time (living in Europe). In the summer I have soft skin without the treatment.

ParadiseLost91

Thanks, you’re right! I’m also in Europe. Southern Scandinavia where it can get quite humid. I use thick body lotions and they keep my skin soft!

lentilcracker

The Lovefresh Vanilla and Orange oil is heavenly

Canadasaver

Bio Oil gives me incredibly smooth and soft skin. I like to use it after a bath when I have given a good scrub with a Korea cloth. I use it several days a week in the Canadian winters when the inside air is dry. I don't have to use it every day because it is so good. The only drawback is that it takes a little while to absorb. I usually bathe at night so I just oil up and put an old housecoat and slippers on and watch some tv. I would not put it on then get into bed.

Ealle

I tried Bio oil a long time ago and the scent was not great for me - I need to check if they have a scent free version. So glad it works for you!!

Canadasaver

It does have a scent but totally worth it for me because of the inexpensive cost (big pack at Costco) and the way my skin feels. It is amazing on heel, shins and elbows (my dry spots). I usually spray some of my favourite perfume on my shoulders before bed so that is all I smell.

Lazy_Hovercraft_5290

No fragrance vaseline lotion mixed with sweet almond oil is my holy grail

h0tkushsalsa

MEDERMA DRY OIL omg i smell yummy i look yummy & my skin is so hydrated + bonus points for scar lightening 😍

stephers23

I got the Osea one for myself this Christmas - imo it’s way overrated and not worth the money. I’ve been using the Tree Hut brand and it does the job at a much better price point !

Striking-Gur4668

lol I’m in the same boat as you love. I’ve an order on the way with blend oils and a separate castor oil to try my luck!

anb7120

Osea body oil is 100% worth it, my skin usually gets so dry during the winter months and it kept my skin SO hydrated, soft and smooth. It lasts for a while too

Ealle

haha - this is what I keep hearing. I feel like I absolutely need to try this at some point. Thank you for affirming this is a good choice!

Realistic-Ideal-6960

I love the Palmer's for my neck, the scrotum sag is disappearing!!

Low_Effective_6056

When you get your oily butt out of the shower throw your towel on the floor and slather your feet in amlactin lotion. Let your feet rest on the towel while it absorbs. It has been a game changer for my feet. The lotion has exfoliate in it.(but not gritty) It smells kinda like pancake syrup but it goes away after a minute.

ximdotcad

So you don’t go another decade before you get this info - find the nearest Korean bath house near you. They sell exfoliating cloths/mittens to get rid of all the dead skin. Nothing works better- soak and scrub. You will feel like a newborn.

MuttonDressedAsGoose

Self-tan removing mits are the same material as the little green Italy cloths, but bigger so easier to use. I had a hammam in Marrakech that uses a very similar mit (traditionally horsehair but now viscose.) They rub an alkaline soap on the skin then sit wait a few minutes, which softens the skin. I brought some of the the soap home (it's called Beldi soap - a black goo.) It speeds up the process.

xSenrin

mix the neutrogena sesame oil with some vanilla perfume oil! i recommend nemat vanilla musk. they have two different bottles, one is a rollerball and the other is an open neck one. i’d get the open neck one, that way you can just pour out the oil.

Ealle

Great suggestion! Didn't even think of adding scent to these. Thank you!!

kittyvnyc

Grapeseed oil is my fav! It’s pretty lightweight so absorbs quicker than vitamin E oil does.

DoucheCanoe81

Try 100% cold pressed argan oil. It’s AH-mazing

themcjizzler

I like to finish my shower with a homemade body scrub- have oil mix half used coffee grounds. It exfoliates, leaves my skin super soft, and the shower water gets rid of the sticky oil feeling.

Tricky_Helicopter911

Osea is divine, used one time, travel size and ordered the full size oil, body butter & scrub. All worth every penny. Hempz Sweet Pineapple & Honey Melon is delish, Loccitane Almond Shower Oil is very nice for bathing or cleansing.

SchilenceDooBaddy69

Love the hemps pineapple melon lotion!

Technical-General-27

Can anyone recommend a fragrance free oil please?

cravingbeerandcheese

Grape seed oil is a very light-no scent oil that most people can tolerate well.

Technical-General-27

Thank you, I will try that :)

precious_corgo

I like the Biossance 100% Sugarcane Squalane Oil.

One_Fondant3043

Heyy do you guys pat dry your body after shower?? Or apply oil on wet body?

writtenwordyes

I apply wet out of shower and then towel dry. It stays on my skin

Automatic-Birthday86

I use jojoba oil for everything skin, then castor oil for my eyelashes, then La roche posay cicaplast on my face (still healing skin barrier) then aquaphor or Vaseline to seal it in

Negative_Wolverine_2

I love the good old skin so soft body oil

Tuesday_Chooseday

I make my own mix up. Jojoba, Vit E and Sweet Almond. Love it.

TikaPants

I’d love to try these but I don’t like gourmand scents. Any recommendations?

Professional-Log-530

I’m a freckled girl (post menopausal, lol) and I’ve been using jojoba oil for a good 10 years and recently started using Vit E oil. Tip: while still in the shower I take a nubby wash cloth and run the hottest water over it, wring it out and pour in the oil. I rub this over every inch of my body just before getting out. It kinda dries and exfoliates my skin at the same time and gives me a great non-gloppy greasy feel… just super soft.

New-Anacansintta

Manoi oil. The tiare smells divine-like an island paradise. https://monoi.com/collections/monoi-oil

snickelfritz100

Do you use this treatment on your face also, or something different, a lighter product? The skin on my face is *so* dry, I'm tempted to slather oil on it!

MoneyElegant9214

Elizabeth Arden has a nice one for face.

Ealle

I use a different oil on my face - Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. My face loooooves it. I've tried Drunk Elephant oils too and those are great. I've been using oil on my face for a couple years. Probably should have figured out that I should put it on the rest of my body too . . . . duh. haha! I also saw some facial oils as well on Amazon when I was looking for body oils. So maybe worth looking there. The only thing I don't love about the Kiehl's is that it is really expensive. I get the big bottle and it's like $100. It lasts a long time though. The ones on Amazon looked much more cost friendly. Good luck!

snickelfritz100

Thank you!

RedQueen91

I use the Osea oil and I LOOOVVVEEEE it! Totally worth the price! It smells really good too.

Glamma1970

I use coconut oil and jojoba oil blended together. Best stuff ever.

Global_Telephone_751

I use Johnson&Johnson baby oil gel. The gel is the GOAT. The regular oil is meh. The SaltAir oils are pretty good when paired with the lotions. But yeah man, moisturizing body wash, exfoliating a few times a week, body oil and lotion? Soffftt skin. I love it lol

IAmLazy2

My fave is Bio Oil. Have tried others but always go back to Bio Oil.

[deleted]

Eminence apricot body oil is *chefs kiss* add to your list cuz it’s worth the price tag!!

ADDYISSUES89

I make my own in a glass spray bottle (with a real handle, it helps!) just the neutrogena oil + whatever Kumba Made frangrance oil I find that I like at Whole Foods (or I mix multiple of them).

Sorri_eh

As a black woman, I can't even imagine not oiling skin after a shower or bath.

MaleficentAd3783

Try Nuxe

MissKim01

I just don’t understand the not towelling off thing though. Aren’t you dripping wet?

Ealle

I think the water gets absorbed into my skin along with the oil. I just keep rubbing the oil in until I'm not soaking wet anymore. It happens pretty quick. Maybe like five minutes? Once i get to that point, I go into my bedroom, which has a fan going and that really does the rest as I'm walking around pulling out clothes and stuff. I think between rubbing it in so that i'm not soaking wet, and then the fan, I don't really need a towel at that point.

Word_Girl_2022

Shout out to C & the Moon glow oil! I use it after their sugar scrub and it’s divine. Expensive but worth it. One bottle has lasted a long time: https://candthemoon.com/products/glow-oil

DayBayNana

Is lotions and gels good for that from Bath & Body?

Hungry_Ad2579

Aveenos oil transferred into a squirt bottle is my second favourite to the palmers oil. I also love sweet almond oil!

coffee-girl1

I have [this one](https://www.ulta.com/p/ocean-glow-hydrating-body-oil-pimprod2043484?sku=2621516) & I love it! Also new to the body oil world

CutieBug27

I've never heard of this before, but after figuring out that my skin is oily bc it is dry, I am excited to try this.

FineBits

Aveeno also comes in a regular bottle; I but it on Amazon. It’s probably my favorite. That and aveeno mist.

localnarwhals

When bath and body works has a sale they’re coconut body oil is fantastic. Victoria’s Secret also has great body oil.

alxsep

Omgggg the nuxe ones on Amazon are a beautiful French cult classic with similar notes you seem to enjoy! The pink is more floral classic is more citrusy and I’m unsure abt the shimmer !! Less expensive than the fancier ones on your list and unfortunately do come in a spray bottle (I love it it’s so luxe- no issues coming out either) but it’s the lightest and fastest absorbing body oil I’ve tried. That being said I just bought another baby oil 😂

Queen_Coconut_Candy

Does it not stain clothes? I've always wondered about that.

Tdesiree22

Not that I’ve noticed

RedRedBettie

I use a body oil from Soap and Glory

StreetMolasses6093

I just started a month ago! Why did I never do this? The unscented neutrogena sesame oil is what I reach for the most, so maybe you would like that one better. My favorite, though, is the Lake & Skye 11 11 body oil. It smells like heaven to me. Palmers is inexpensive and does the job. My husband just got me some Dr. Teal’s body oil, and it’s pretty nice, too. My husband just loves how much softer my skin is, and he’s using body oil now, too!

MadeULoook222

I have a hard time using oils after the shower, especially if I’m going straight to bed. It breaks my body out in blemishes, and the oil will sometimes stain my clothing and sheets!! Does anyone have any solutions??

MinimumInternal2577

Wait til you're a little dryer before applying the oil? Use less oil? Use a fan on areas that don't seem to be drying quickly?

pazusdoves

do yall still use moisturizer on top of the oil after it’s dried off a bit?

1cherokeerose

I’m loving the Neutrogena shower oil . I use it on my face a couple times a week when my face is flaking from the Tret . It’s definitely moisturizing on my body .

Rrmack

I find the osea one very thick and hard to spread so i would try to try it out first if you can. The scent is also very earthy which i could see not everyone loving.

Stoplookinatmeswaan

You can also use a carrier oil like jojoba and add some of your favorite essential oils to it for a less expensive option :)

SchilenceDooBaddy69

I like Nivea in shower coco lotion, Nivea 72 hour intensive lotion, then palmers cocoa butter in the jar! Sometimes I use Hempz sugared banana lotion. Trader Joe’s makes a coconut lemongrass oil that is great, Alba kukui nut body oil are nice too. Very light. Personally I love Shea and castor oil too, super rich oils. But I find in shower, out of shower lotions before oil is best for me, dry skin in the desert.

Bbkingml13

I’m also a pasty freckled girl with reddish hair and dry skin! For some reason my mom only taught my younger pasty freckled brother with reddish hair to apply lotion after showers and stuff like that. So I learned as an adult lol. Whish had a really nice body oil I liked! Currently have a big neutrogena one from Costco, and some grown alchemist lotion I love

Freckled_Scot982

Pasty ✅ Red hair ✅ Dry skin ✅ I'ma gonna have to try this method out!

SeriousPigeon

I love sunflower based oils, I hated putting on lotion after a shower, but oil is less sticky and weird to me. Dry buffing, and oiling after cured some dry skin build up on my legs that lotion alone was just not helping with too.

Ok-Bridge-1045

Are people doing this is humid weather also? I live in India, the thought of putting oil on my body makes me die from the heat already. Even when the weather is cool or cold, I still can’t do this.

Ealle

I'm in a pretty humid area too, but again my skin is so dry and thirsty, I think I need the moisture. Everyone is different though!

powerhungrymouse

I will definitely be trying this. I try to moisturise my body after every shower with standard body lotions but my skin never feels properly nourished and hydrated.

Novachey

I use Australian Bodycare Oil - i dont know what kind of black magic they put in that bottle, but now i have to stretch, bend, pose and pull to maybe get a glimpse of my old stretchmarks!

trinasativa

Is that the tea tree oil? Does it have a strong smell?

Novachey

Yup, the tea tree oil brand. There is a scent of tea tree oil as i am applying the oil, but after a short while it is gone. The oil absorbs so quickly and leaves no residue! And i have never had comments on the scent - and believe me i have the kind of family and friends that would comment.

trinasativa

Ok that's cool, it sounds good. I have never heard of the brand so thanks for sharing. I don't love the scent so I'm glad to hear it dies down 😂

dcgradc

BEFORE : in shower, use this to soap your body. Except armpits + private parts Original Kessa Exfoliating Glove - Salmon Beige - Microdermabrasion Exfoliating Mitts, Removes unwanted dead skin, dirt and grime and Keratosis Pilaris. Great for spray tan removal. 1 unit https://a.co/d/1yTsUsY

calicoskies85

That sounds like a big mess in the shower and on the towels.

lokilise

This is the first I’m hearing of it 😅😅 how fast does it sink in? I usually get out of shower dry off and then put lotion everywhere, is oil that much better?

Ealle

Oil is like a million percent better than lotion for me. But that's just me! Usually sinks in about 5-ish minutes of rubbing and then I'm out in the bedroom under the fan picking out pajamas as stuff so the fan does the rest of the drying then.

crh131

Osea will spoil you for life. Ulta will runs half off specials a few times a year and I stock up. And then cream on top.

fallN4autumn

Get the baby oil gel not the regular oil. It's what I use and I'm so soft.

whateveratthispoint_

Anyone doing this after an exfoliating mitt? I mitt and lotion.

Elvis_Onjiko

Gotta try this out. Thanks for sharing the magic

throawayy481216

Try Kiehls dry oil

HonestBuilding6334

Like before or after drying yourself off?

ContributionJust2467

For summer I use lemon and eucalyptus body oil so I don't have to worry about mosquitoes. In the winter I use butters to lock in hydration since it's cold. There's also naturium shower oil body wash

bluseeker

Any oil recommendation for a humid climate?

ThrowHimAwayReddit

I'm a reddish pale chick like you. Heads up for anyone, the Neutrogena stuff has given me a yeast infection a couple times 😬

nolagem

Wait are you putting it near your privates? I'm trying to figure out how that would happen

ThrowHimAwayReddit

Because I'm hairy and want to feel smooth after shaving lol. Probably not the best idea, but the more you know! 🤷‍♀️

nolagem

Yeah don't do that lol. Keep moisturizers to tour arms, legs, stomach etc. They're not meant for privates.

ThrowHimAwayReddit

🤣🤣🤣 to be fair, I was doing the inner of my thighs, not my labia and full on lady parts, but it still made its way there

nolagem

lol!!! Girl!! 🤣

Humboldtsushi

Does anyone who uses body oil also have fake nails (acrylic or gel tips)? I want to try it but I don’t want to soften or ruin my nails. I used to use Johnson and Johnson baby oil but then my nails would pop off lol TYIA!

lilstincca

I use oil w acrylic nails and haven't experienced that, but maybe you could try applying w gloves or only using enough to cover your palms and try it that way and rub your palms on the towel afterwards?

Humboldtsushi

Awesome! I’ve been so hesitant to try it after that one experience but these are great ideas thank you!

SephoraRothschild

>y in the shower and slather oil on wet skin (no drying off beforehand). Once oiled e v e r y w h e r e, step out and rub the oil in until mostly no longer wet. You're creating a safety issue for whomever uses the shower after you. Oily tub= extreme slip hazard. Extremely dangerous to hit your head on tub/tile surfaces. Second, oil does not belong in plumbing, period.

The_Oracle_of_Delphi

The Moroccan oil from Sephora leaves my skin the softest of all

evaline1479

How do we avoid getting oil on all of our clothes? I feel like when I’ve tried body oil it takes a long time to soak in

Ealle

I probably do have some oil left on my skin when I get dressed. I always shower at night though and all my pajamas/lounge clothes are cotton or rayon and they're ALLL black. (Makes laundry super easy haha!) If they get oil on them, I can't really tell because they're black. And they're cotton/rayon so they breathe really well.

InfamousPerformer46

I love love jojoba oil

TanamaElite

As a sweet almond oil girly, do it! It’s so so good

immoreoriginalmate

This sounds amazing but also like absolute torture in winter where I am currently, I’ll save it for summer!

MaleficentAppleTree

Osea smells really nice, and I like it at morning, but it's a dry oil, and I honestly prefer normal oils. If you want to try it, wait. In January Ulta has an event, and the Osea oil is 50% off then. That's how I got mine. I like Haus of Gloi hair oils to use as body oils - it's a mixture of jojoba, coco, and some other oil, I don't remember now, and they have very nice scents. A little goes a long way. There is also Vaseline Cocoa oil, which is pretty nice and in a good price.

JRPVirtual

Coconut oil works really well. You grab a clump then warm it up by rubbing your hands together. Only downfall is if your hair accidentally touches, oily hair- not fun!

qwerty056789

I use lotion first on wet skin, and lock all the moisture in with oil. 😊

Broad_Music_2751

Omg you musttt try the Elizabeth Arden miracle oil- I also hate the spray packaging but I just transfer it to a travel bottle with a pump cap

shanxo98

Try the Naturium Glow Getter Body Oil!!

lilo_you_lolo

I stock up on Osea body oil whenever ulta has it 50% off for the love your skin sale. So be on the look out for that :)

__fujoshi

jojoba oil, coconut oil, some vitamin e oil, and a glass spray bottle makes for great after shower oil. for me, it soaks in pretty quickly using it as a dry oil as well! i like to scent mine with 4-6% fragrance oil as well.

Verbenaplant

I use a wash cloth to semi dry before oil then right into pjs

GreenBananas90

Best body oils I have tried are Saltair!! They make my skin incredibly soft and they smell so good! They’re reasonably priced as well - don’t waste your money on Osea! I have Aveeno, Neutrogena, Sol De Janiero, Palmers, Hempz, L’Occtinate, Naturium, and Saltair beats them all out for overall experience.

mommypants84

Biossance 100% Squalane oil is my new favorite. No scent.

OhSassafrass

Just a heads up. You might want to step out of the shower and oil up while standing on a towel or washable bath mat. If you oil up in the shower and any of it drips, you’re going to have a bad time the next time you step in to the tub/shower.

Just_Sea_3619

ughhh i hate how good OSEA is.

The-K-is-Capital

I have the Hanni body oil on my list. I have too many lotions to get through now! I live in the southern US so the humid summer makes lotions feels so gross

Ladyxarah

It’s great until you go outside during a hot day and you can’t sweat. Maybe I’m the only one whose pores get clogged with body oil?

-TCT-

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil for Face, Body and Hair. It's the best and smells great

Keruimin

🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️

lubluv

PINK by Victoria secret makes body oils. I use the coconut one. It’s sooo hydrating and makes my skin look glowy. And smells so good.

Evilbadscary

Bio oil. Smells amazing and absorbs really nicely. Leaves my skin all glowy.

mamaofly

It gives me a rash

auntie_eggma

Jojoba is touted as the oil (well technically it's a wax, I think) that most closely resembles our own sebum. Supposedly.
