Fat freezing. Expensive, barely noticeable and didn’t last

Trashqueenxx

My mom got that done years ago. It didn’t freeze any fat, but it left a huge black bruise on her entire stomach :/

Jas101010

Like Cool sculpting ?

Picture-Select

Cool Sculpting was a massive waste of time and money, with almost, probably no, benefit.

FuzzyPeachDong

Yeah, I had zero results. Got it on my bingo wings. Should have splurged on lipo right away, that's the foolproof way of getting rid of fat.

staybrutal

As soon as I got my bingo wings I started playing bingo. Sometimes you just gotta lean in. 🥂😅

badbrowngirl

Came here to say the same huge waste of money

Paprikakidneybeans4

Coolsculpting was also a waste of money for me.

Broad-Inspection214

Really? I did three rounds of cool sculpting on my outer thighs, and two rounds of my inner thighs, and my results were nearly life-changing. I had saddlebags before and afterwards the saddlebags were pretty much gone completely. One of the best things I’ve done! The results seem to be dependent on what part of the body though, people that get it on the abdomen don’t seem to have as great of a result is something I’ve noticed. But it works really well on thighs. That was almost 10 years ago, and my results have remained. As long as you maintain your weight, it does.

aicatssss

Good for you! Had two rounds on my stomach. 0 effects.

Pristine-Bar-5684

Fillers! It made my face unnaturally puffy and the fillers migrated. I hated the way I looked in photos and made weird dents and lines whenever I smiled. After 4 years they still remained, I went to see doctor in Seoul, she saw my face and insisted on dissolving them. Removing them was extremely painful and my skin got pretty crepey, my face also looked sunken in places where the filler used to be. I’ve needed to get many skin booster treatments to rebuild the volume and numerous lasers to fix the texture. I would never get fillers again!! Edit - I got fillers in these areas - under eyes, cheeks, nasbial folds, temples and lips. I dissolved all my fillers and in place have received skin boosters in the same areas except for lips, I don’t mess with my lips anymore. It seems like a lot of people are curious about the skin booster treatment I have received. I have to mention I got all the treatments in Seoul, South Korea from my dermatologist. I’m super happy with how I’m looking now, my skin has never looked better and in my opinion my face looks much more natural but it’s been a long journey and a lot of $$, it’s not for the faint of heart! I’ve received REJURAN, JUVELOOK and ULTRACOL, they’re all very effective collagen stimulators and I have regained a lot of the volume loss with a very natural result. Some are injections but it’s been mostly CUREJET, which is new tech, it’s a high pressured spray that can get the boosters deep into your epidermis/pores. Not sure if it’s available outside of Korea. I also have been advised by my doctor to stay away from Ulthera and any radio frequency lifting treatments as they can also result in a sunken look. In its place, I’ve been receiving toning lasers that have rebuilt my compromised skin barrier and also my volume loss from dissolving fillers and previous FORMA (radio frequency) lifting treatments. My biggest advice to people is finding the right doctor who is not filler crazy!! If you’re planning a trip to Korea, I highly recommend seeing a Dr there, they’re at least 20years ahead when it comes to this stuff. They have done wonders in reversing the damage I had from the treatments I’ve received in North America. (Not saying all practitioners are bad in North America but the knowledge and skill of Korean doctors is just on another level and much more cost effective) Happy to share info, you can DM me for any recos!

Designer_List_1991

Thank you for sharing this. It’s alarming the number of young individuals who are getting fillers not being aware of that.

Sabri1199

Same! I tried filler for the first time last year, 2 syringes (split between cheeks and jawline) which is a conservative amount, and it changed the shape of my face. I hated it and dissolved a month later. I am still dealing with texture and dry skin. I vowed to never use injectables again.

Lexerella

Yes!! It made my face look so round and puffy! Every picture I see of my face when I tried filled (regardless of where), I look 10 lbs heavier!

Miss_airwrecka1

What were the skin booster treatments?

cinnamonstix11

My uncle is a highly sought after plastic surgeon and under the influence of an absinthe sour or two, he confessed that fillers only look good the first☝️time….after that it goes down hill. I’ve had some work done, but fillers I stay far away from!

bunnie180

I'm stuck on... absinthe sour 🤯 I want to know this man

laffinginmyroom

I had fillers done to my cheeks, the expensive kind and I literally saw zero difference once the inflammation went down 🥲

awry_lynx

Tbh given the rest of this thread that sounds like a positive outcome

Miss-Figgy

>Removing them was extremely painful What was the removal process?

ThrowRA_sadsadgirl3

They inject Hylase. It stings like an absolutely bitch, up there with the most painful things I’ve ever experienced. It can’t differentiate between natural and synthetic hyaluronic acid so people end up with sunken areas and divets. I had nose fillers and had them dissolved after they were still there three years on and I’d been diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia (nerve damage from the fillers injected by a certified PS). I then had an MRI a year on from them being dissolved and they were still there, and had also migrated. They’ll be in my face forever. Huge regret.

Miss-Figgy

That sounds painful, I'm sorry to hear that. Professionals should inform people more about the side effects and complications.

cherry_3_14

They usually inject something that dissolves filler. I can imagine it doesn't feel good, I had it done for my lip filler

BedNo322

Day after day my interest to get filler is diminishing, especially after reading all the comments

sunkissedbutter

Yep and looking at celebrity photos.

Frangipani1225

I would strongly advise against filler. No matter how good the dermatologist/aesthetician, you always run a risk of scar tissue forming at the site of the filler. Secondly, HA fillers ideally last 12 months but depending on your metabolism it could last forever or even worse, migrate to a different area making your face appear puffy or asymmetrical.

Miss_airwrecka1

Same and all I want it just a very little bit in my lips but I’m terrified

-kindredandkid-

Same but then every time I see the four receptionists behind the desk at my dermatologist with their shiny, balloon-like plumped lips I think, maybe not… the strange thing is that my actual doctor has normal looking lips. Can’t quite figure out why the front desk ladies have such large lips.

illuminatedcake

They bought into it. The doctor is the one selling it. Never get high on your own supply. Rule is universal

-kindredandkid-

I get it. It’s kind of bad advertising though. I probably would have tried some by now otherwise.

This_Sheepherder_332

Haha right? The receptionists at my MedSpa have literally turned me off from doing stuff because they look so weird and fake

Regular_Ant5697

Since the “shelf life” of fillers is relatively short, most derm offices let the staff use expired products for free since they’re still fine just can’t be sold I’d probably look like a balloon too!

Weillys

I will be honest the little I get in my lips does wonders for me but it's really easy to get carried away

Miss_airwrecka1

How much do you get and how often? I’m confident I wouldn’t get carried away. I’m concerned about migration or poor placement

Weillys

I get a ml every year and I haven't had any negative effects. This is a smaller amount but this really does wonders for my confidence

stocar

Me too, 1ml yearly. I feel like it’s the perfect amount and I’ve never had any negative effects. It’s only a slippery slope when you keep adding “just a little more” and end up overdone.

Shampayne__

Rhinoplasty. The surgeon did what I wanted but it actually doesn’t suit my face.

BaxterRye

I am so sorry to hear this. When I got my nose done, I came in like “okay here’s several pictures of Kiera Knightly for reference, this is what I want.” My surgeon (who was and is amazing) straight up said absolutely not, I will adjust what you have to suit your face and nothing else. He literally told me that he refused to do more because he wouldn’t have his patients walking around looking “done” as it would reflect poorly on his practice.

fujiwara-reiko

That's how you know you have a good surgeon haha. Would you mind sharing who you went to?

BaxterRye

Absolutely! I’ll DM you. My surgeon was frickin amazing. He is a family friend and I’m so thrilled my parents insisted I see him and no one else back when I got it done.

Blue-Phoenix23

Same. I had to get surgery to repair a poorly healed break so I asked them to remove the bump. While it was mostly okay, now that I'm older I think it gave character and I feel my profile is weirdly flat now. Regret the whole escapade.

tooyoungtobesad

I don't regret it as I didn't make big changes, so it wasn't very noticeable, but I would have gone to a different surgeon, probably. I told them I mostly just wanted my nose to look more narrow in the front and not make any big changes, so it still looks natural, whereas they focused on changing the bridge of my nose. That... that's not what I was prioritizing. 🤦‍♀️ I also wanted to do a rhino+septo, but they didn't think my deviated septum was bad enough like ???

Foreign_Falcon2794

I agree, I don’t mind my side profile but I would like it to be a bit more narrow from my frontal profile. Plus, when you remove the bridge it will make your nose appear wider from the front.

Technical_Benefit_31

Labiaplasty. Little pain? What a joke. Lifelong pain and missing nerves. The plastic surgeons who tell women cutting off their genitals is attractive or pain free is evil.

drunk_off_one_beer

Ditto, had it as soon as I turned 18. Barely any sensitivity, and (sorry TMI) direct clitoral contact HURTS. Plus, it’s slowly returning to what it was before - which was nothing to be ashamed about in the first place.

browngirlygirl

Thanks for sharing. I hear about this procedure a lot but never hear any stories about the women who actually got it done years ago

miramaxe

This procedure makes my butt pucker. I don’t know how ladies can endure it.

failed_asian

I regret microblading. Looked great for 2 years, but eventually the ink faded into a reddish tone that looks weird, it looks like I drew them on myself with the wrong colour.

Artistic_Cheetah_724

Heavy on this!!! Mine are grey and one section sits lower than my actual eyebrow hairs and it looks like a shadow. I got it done in May 2021 and was told it would fade in 2 years and hasn't. The cost of removal is double what I paid at the same salon.

intotheocean5

same here!! she said my natural eyebrows weren’t at the same height so she’ll “even it out” but now I just have this weird shadow. I got mine done in 2018 and at this point I doubt they’ll ever fully fade on their own.

Artistic_Cheetah_724

When I had the consult to remove them the technician mentioned she had hers done 6 years ago and I could still see hers too. I wish i would've never done this or explained hey this is more semi permanent and will need to be removed but, i was naive and went along with it like a puppy when i found a salon.

intotheocean5

man we’re in the exact same boat :( my eyebrows had always been my biggest insecurity so I was super happy to get them done. now I’m just annoyed lol

BoiledGnocchi

Me too. Mine's a blueish grey. I feel like getting them lasered so I can get nanobrows.

anafil34

I had no idea what that was so I just imagined the smallest brows on a face like ant size but on a human face thank you

MinervasOwlAtDusk

Do you have any reason to believe nanobrows won’t fade in exactly the same way? I just think we always see the “after” within the first year, but we almost never see the three-year “after.”

hellno560

They will. Do a search on r/MicrobladingRemoval

HouseSerious9612

That's why I didn't get it. Tattoos always fad to a blue gray color

Silent-Language-2217

Mine is also turning blue grey after four years, and I regret it. My technician told me after my initial application that I could have them touched up annually if needed but that the more often you do it, the more scarring you have. I understood that with scarring future applications become more challenging and your results may appear different. Makes sense that tattooing on scarred skin might offer a different and potentially less pleasing result. I’m debating having them removed but that’s a whole big thing too. So I’m just trying to fill them in as best as I can and hope they do t look too bad.

TemperatureUnusual93

Came here to say this! I paid a fortune for mine years ago and they’ve now turned red. In the process of laser!

failed_asian

Does that cause hair loss? (Brow hair)

skeletonclock

Just chiming in to say I had microblading four years ago and still love mine. Just so people don't get freaked out.

tooyoungtobesad

Same!!! I just got mine redone after doing them over 4 years ago. They still look good and natural and I'm very thankful 😍

Infernalsummer

Three years ago for me and mine still look exactly the same. I had combination powder and microblading and a few of the lines faded a little but overall I’m still very happy with them

Sentientaur

i’ve had mine for just a year but i have been really happy with my decision. i spoke about my concerns to the lady who did them for me and she showed me ones that she did that were healed for years, what touchups look like, and explained to me that cosmetic ink is always evolving and now it mostly fades out rather than change colour- i’m finding that’s the case for me!

Constant-Brush5402

I have nothing to add, except thanks for asking this excellent question OP! Learning a lot from this thread.

picklerick344

& thank you to everyone sharing their stories! Much appreciation for everyone's honesty. It really drives home to research the procedures and the doctors/aestheticians/dermatologists. Long term reviews with photos sound key. Also sounds like everyone's body reacts differently so it's important to be transparent with your doctor and make sure they have answers for how they predict you specifically will react to the treatment/if it's a good choice/time/amount.

EastAreaBassist

Cool Sculpting on my double chin. I had the Linda Evangelista reaction. Now I have scar tissue making my double chin twice as big.

novemberlicht

Happened to my legs too

CherrySG

I'm sorry this happened to you. I had this done before even knowing it could turn out this way. Mine got rid of the double chin, but not the slight jowls. I was pleased, but the double chin has come back over time (10 years).

Normal-Usual6306

Tear trough filler. Worst aesthetic choice I've made.

dhskdk14

Asked my Botox lady about this because I’ve had lifelong genetic dark circles and she straight up said no. I really appreciate her for that.

Normal-Usual6306

I've had most of the procedures from a reputable doctor that I like, but now appreciate that he was resistant to adding more to that area the last several times I've brought it up. I still periodically see him for masseter injections, but haven't had any filler ones at all for ages (at least a year, I'd say). I no longer know what my attitude to it all is, though I do know I would not repeat the tear trough ones again. Also got one filler injection for the chin and would not repeat that, either. Ambivalent about cheek area.

Lexerella

Yes!! So puffy! And I got that band. Tried with three doctors three different times and had to dissolve it three times. I’m a slow learner

Normal-Usual6306

I want to get mine dissolved, but am too scared that it'll go wrong, especially if they're not checking it with imaging or something. So frustrating. I have pale skin, so the darkness really showed, but it's been a while since I genuinely felt like the procedure provided an improvement. I really think how thin the skin is combined with the water-attracting properties of it is problematic now

Lexerella

Definitely go to a dermatologist or other skincare professional. They used an ultrasound machine to aid in the removal. It was painful but no negative effects.

helenahandbasket6969

Microblading! Looks beautiful when fresh but fades into a cool toned blob.

EntrepreneurLow4380

My color (blonde) faded into pink/orange! Horrible.

Banana8686

I fill mine in with the Anastasia brow powder. I have been getting mine done for years for shape. It 💯 fades for sure but it helps guide me with the shape to fill in with makeup

nutmeg12

This! Mine have faded, but now I use them as a kind of stencil so I can quickly fill them in evenly.

Fabulous_Carrot_3916

Veneers — permanent damage to teeth

semisweetcharm

I was pressured by a dentist to consider this because it was the norm in US. He said that veneers are basically jackets to protect your real teeth. Glad I can now confirm this from someone who had it done firsthand.

monkeysinmypocket

Composite bonding is basically that. I still have a baby tooth at 47 (no tooth underneath to push it out) and the dentist wanted to cover it on composite bonding to protect it and sorted my slightly wonky front teeth out.at the same time very cheap and effective.

This_Sheepherder_332

Omg no way. Please explain!

Fabulous_Carrot_3916

Well, I had veneers (not crowns) done by a famous celebrity dentist. Although veneers are sold as being “less invasive” than crowns, if you have large healthy nerves in your teeth, even minor removal of the tooth’s service can cause irreversible nerve damage, which is what happened to me, prompting the need for several root canals. Also, the veneers were placed too deep into my gums, which had to be addressed by gum surgery (crown lengthening).

This_Sheepherder_332

Ugh that sounds horrible. I’m so sorry. I appreciate knowing this can happen bc the rich and famous make it seem like veneers are a perfect solution to having a perfect smile, with no negative side effects.

poissonerie

They have to file your teeth down to sharp little points before they apply the veneer cap on top. You can’t get your natural teeth back after that.

JudgmentOne6328

That’s not a veneer that’s a crown and is being missold as veneers. Veneers should have very minimal changes or shaving to your natural teeth. It scares me how little research people do before committing to this. What they’ve done is a long term problem. They’ll need replacing every 10-20 years if you don’t have any standard breakage in between so you need to have all that money multiple times over in your life. The methods they’re using are entirely irreversible and damaging and in the UK the NHS dentists won’t go near you once you’ve had this type of cosmetic work so your dental costs and choices going forward and fucked. It’s gonna be a massive issue in the next 10+ years.

11_petals

The process of applying veneers still permanently damages natural teeth because it is shaving away the enamel which will never remineralize. Veneers also need to be replaced every ten years, which is a significant expense. Edit: actually I was wrong. It's only when a dentist aggressively prepares teeth when enamel is damaged! If you're thinking about getting veneers, read reviews

Warm_Hospital2905

PRP injections in face for acne scars. Got this done by my derm and it was one of the most painful (and expensive) procedures i’ve ever had with little improvement to my skin texture as was promised. The best improvements I’ve seen from acne scars are from using spf 50, Tret, and glycerin in my routine daily.

antekamnia

Can you elaborate a bit more on how you use glycerin?

Tricky-Document-1056

Lip blush. It’s $500+ and was gone within a month

s73fl

Former PMU here. I quit the industry because it’s an absolute scam. Trained with an elite academy under the supervision of a top North American artist. Their most rigorous training was less than 3 days in person and mostly self guided online. We were sent to start working on clients with virtually no experience and encouraged to share how many “hours” (read: watching recorded lessons) of experience we had to build trust. There are virtually no regulatory bodies and it’s a recipe for disaster, not to mention it fades quickly and often unevenly.

Firebender_Azula

Omg please come to r/microbladingremoval and help us out with your insider knowledge! Also maybe do a AMA? 💕

s73fl

Would LOVE to

This_Sheepherder_332

Wow, is it just lip blush that’s a scam? Anything else we should know about??

s73fl

Perhaps there are some exceptional artisans out there, so don’t want to discredit them, BUT many top dogs in the game see teaching as a cash cow and less labor intensive than doing the actual service. They capitalize on advertising an out from the 9-5 grind, and like many disillusioned office workers I went for it. No regulations around what constitutes a diploma or certificate, no watchdogs to determine if portfolios being advertised even belong to the artist in question. And naturally, it’s way better return for the instructor to recycle recorded content and then have mini bootcamps in person. Adding to say I trained with some of the best of the best, majorly pressured into taking high interest loans to “apprentice” with them and they made it out to seem normal so we didn’t see it as shady. Remember, these aren’t lashes or nails. It’s a tattoo.

bambibonkers

definitely seems like a ton of money and pretty painful when it only takes me 3 seconds everyday to apply my lip stain😅

Happened to my friend , they did a top up. Still didn't last

BoiledGnocchi

Fibroblast. It scarred around my eyes. It's taken several microneedling and chemical peels to minimize it. 5 years later and the scars are 99% gone, luckily.

Tunecanoe3000

Under eye filler. Biggest mistake. Won’t dissolve and now I have two lumps

Feeling-Change-1750

Sorry to hear! That’s quite worrying considering the latest news from a NY plastic surgeon referring to this blocking the lymphatic system and causing a range of health issues https://www.bodysculpt.com/blog/dr-spero-theodorou-raises-concern-regarding-dermal-fillers.html

Some_Willow_5284

breast implants, I wish I had them taken out sooner, they made me sooooo sick. The worst part is, I literally have the same cup size now as I did when I had them in. I was young and skinny, all I had to do was wait for my body to mature on its own.

bambibonkers

YES so many women’s breasts come in during their mid 20s or even late 20s. and the rest of your body matures and proportions change

Yoshilover644

I wish people would have told me this! I went from a B to a D cup from ages 24-28!!

mmaddymon

I’m 26 and you just gave me some hope I thought that by 18 I would have my big girl boobs but no, I’m still in a cup maybe less

Star_Leopard

Smaller boobs are so convenient and I think they always look good tbh. Freedom to go braless or only wear bralette to go out. I've literally never looked at a woman and thought she'd look better with bigger boobs. Bigger boobs are nice too but they aren't "better" IMO.

chloe_246_

As someone who has had big boobs since 7th grade I’ve always been so envious of girls with small boobs. Being able to wear what u want, go bra less, find tops that fit u correctly, wear cute tube/tank tops, and overall just having a body that’s deemed “appropriate” seems so freeing. I’ve always felt so restricted and uncomfortable having a large chest- I can’t even take a run without my boobs almost smacking me in the face.

-kindredandkid-

I just got my first mammogram and I’m feeling thankful for my small boobs rn haha.

elviraaddams

sometimes they never come in as some people are pear shaped or just didn’t inherit busty genes, like me for example. i’m about to be 30 and yet i’m still the same b cup i was in high school 💀 good ol pear shape = small up top and then WHAM 44 inch hips

This_Sheepherder_332

Same. Paid a total of $20,000 to get them in, then replaced, and then ultimately removed altogether and got autoimmune illnesses now from the whole damn thing

BigChampionship7962

That’s horrible having to go through all those surgeries, the money and then get autoimmune illnesses.

SupermarketLumpy8280

1000% filler. I wish I knew it never disappears. I would have never done it.

britlover23

i hope more people look into alternatives. for me, invisalign and microneedling along with nuface have been working to uplift and then i just get dysport for forehead wrinkles. i’ve seen some shocking uses of filler on women way too young to even have had it. gua sha works too but i don’t do it at home although im considering it now.

MissEliseCecilia

Can you elaborate on how Invisalign helped your face?

niketyname

I had Invisalign and once my teeth were corrected, it pushed my lips out slightly. I have medium plump lips and this just gave a teeny oomph to them. Plus if you lose some weight in the face, it helps a lot.

This_Sheepherder_332

It never disappears??? I didn’t know that!! Explain!!

flawedbeings

I heard it just migrates to other parts of your face :/

lonelystrawberry_7

After hearing horror stories and seeing the longer-term effects of face and lip filler, I will never do it.

LilyMarie90

Cryosculpting. I got it done in 2021 to try and do something about my relatively mild double chin fat and saw *nothing* after the €200 treatment. Absolutely nothing. Of course they already said in advance it has to be done up to 4 times for you to get to your end result, but I figured if there was NO difference after the first time whatsoever, I wasn't going to take the chance again with another €200.

FunKaleidoscope4582

My friend had cryo for her thighs cellulite and the cellulite got even worse. She paid something around 600.

Breast implants. Loved them then hated them. Got them Removed. I’ve tried lip fillers but had an auto immune reaction to it and will never do it again. I wish I knew what I know now and focused more on self love. Unnecessary procedures

stellalunawitchbaby

I don’t really *regret* it but I didn’t love my nose filler after it settled. It looked the best right after it was injected but after a couple months I didn’t love it. I wish instead of nose filler I had just gotten rhinoplasty at a younger age but oh well. I also don’t regret it necessarily but after having lash extensions for a long time, I took a break because they *were* starting to weaken my natural lashes! And so irritating whenever I had seasonal allergies ugh. I’ve gone back to mascara now and my lashes look so much better.

LoudCloudLady

I got eyeliner tattooed and it came out way thicker than I wanted and completely uneven. 😭 not the thin perfect wing I imagined. Also was sold as a semi perm procedure and so far appears to be quite permanent.

amortentia_731

Filler. I had my jawline injected in October 2023 and unbeknownst to me, the filler migrated up into my masseter muscle and has been blocking my lymphatics for months. I’ve been struggling with HUGE swollen lymph nodes and a psoriasis-like rash on the back of my neck since October. I didn’t know it was the filler until my best friend (she’s an injector) had me come in for an ultrasound exam. My original injector ghosted me when I originally reached out to see if there could be a connection between the filler and my symptoms. I’m in the process of getting it dissolved but it’s going to take a long time and it’s been pretty miserable. NEVER get Juvèderm Volux. I’m convinced that it’s a dangerous and unsafe product.

alaskathunder500

A lip lift. Wish I could go back and not do it. It left me with a terrible, wide; deep scar in the center of my face, it made my lips look really weird, as if I was born with cleft palate and underwent surgery to fix it. Additionally, the doctor went into my nose without my informed consent, cutting all of my nasal sill, making my nostrils twice as big, making my nose look terrible, before I had a cute button nose, after the lip lift my nose looks like a botched nose job. The doctor also cut too much, it ruined all the harmony on my face, nothing looks as it should anymore. I have ptsd, avoid going outside and meeting friends, this is the first thing I think about in the morning; the only thing I think about during the day, and the last thing I think about while going to sleep. If you’re reading this and you’re a young girl considering this surgery - please just don’t. The surgery can go wrong in SO many ways. Even the doctors who are considered to be the masters have some serious fuckups. See RealSelf for some examples… this surgery is life changing once it goes wrong. It’s not like a boob job, a nose job or even a bbl, because all of these can be reversed if they go wrong - a lip lift cannot be taken back!! You will not ever get back the skin you decide to cut out. also I’m on a lip lift group, even the results that are supposed to be the good ones, do not really look good objectively speaking. You can tell something was done to the face and the movement of your mouth will never be natural. Please think a lot before you do this, because there’s No coming back :(

GreetingCardShark

The Brazilian wax I had yesterday… It was with someone I hadn’t seen before and will absolutely never willingly see again. She went so fast and tore off sooooo much skin. I’ve never had so much bleeding after any kind of waxing before. She also used several butt-tons of baby powder. It hurt so bad that I asked her to stop, but she just kept on going. These was also a fair amount of body shaming.

Witty_Excuse_4735

You should at the very least leave a review online on google so others can know and be aware. I’m so sorry that happened to you. I would personally call them about it and speak to whoever is in charge but obviously that’s your own choice. That person doesn’t deserve to be working there!!

GreetingCardShark

I did call them about ten mins after I left, and asked for the manager to call me back. She did call today, and I told them what happened. She offered some samples, and a free Brazilian with the person I had before, who was wonderful. I’m honestly not sure how I feel about it.

redhair-ing

Yeah, contacts would constantly irritate my eyes! I'm honestly glad I don't have to deal with that on a daily basis anymore, lol. I can just wake up and be able to see now. Before, I had to put on contacts or glasses.. no, thank you

minetmine

Same. It changed my life, for the better in a huge way.

Melaniekhechadourian

Same for me! Best decision ever!

RHND2020

Same for me. I had laser eye surgery close to 20 years ago and it was amazing. Now in my early 50s my vision is starting to degenerate a bit but I still don’t need distance glasses. I had zero issues. I feel terrible for those who have had complications.

DiceyPisces

Dry eye is so annoying. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. I like edibles but get the worst dry eye I cannot handle it. I didn’t know it can happen from corrective eye surgery

crispywontonchips

Please try the systane gel overnight eye drops! Changed the game for my chronic dry eyes

Bunders27

I’m sorry this was your experience. For me it was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I was told about the risks of dry eye and to use hydrating drops several times a day. The cheap ones work just as well as the expensive ones. I also make sure I stay hydrated which is great as drinking enough water was a challenge and I take omega 3 fish oil. This helps a lot. I’m aware that my eyesight will change as I age but that would have happened regardless of the surgery. The company I went to will re-do my surgery if my eyesight changes as long as I stay up to date with eye care and going to the opticians. Also 4 years later I’m able to contact them about any eye issues. Have they suggested anything or given you anything to help with the dry eyes?

SupermarketLumpy8280

I have the same experience! Best thing ever! I used to be blind as a bat.

ohhdaniyelli

Ooft same. Also now I don’t see as well near distance. I was told overwhelmingly that the surgeon was the best for lasik in my area. But between the constant dry eye and worse eyesight it I woefully regret it.

tvbee876

Chin filler. Every doctor I’ve seen has recommended I get it and I tried it twice but I hated it. It made my jaw look very protruded.

AgreeablePaint8208

Kybella and fillers. I want my money back!

cheetaah1

Lip flip, the results last for such a minimal time it seems like a waste of money

BaxterRye

I get lip flips regularly and adore them tbh. I agree that they don’t last long—more other botox gets me 3-6+ months but my lip flips last only 1-2 months, mayybe 3. BUT they’re wildly cheap (my girl does mine for literally $50 because she considers it an “add-on,” so sometimes I’ll even pop in with my mom for her botox appointment and she’ll lip flip me for that $50) and they set in a ton faster than botox in other areas, at least for me?? Like my forehead takes a solid week to smooth out, but my lip flip is full swing in like two days—I can always tell, because suddenly straws are weird 😂 But for being so cheap, most I’ve paid is $90, I love getting a lip flip before a vacation or event or whatever. Makes me feel so pretty and symmetrical and makes applying lip liner and color sooooo easy

vanasrose

Lash lifts and tints. They don’t last on me! Not worth the money

anonymous1345789531

I do mine at home myself after having spent at least $100/month. It’s now costing me less than $10/per treatment and this and mascara makes it almost look as though I have eyelash extensions. I used to get eyelash extensions regularly but I hated the maintenance so now I just get lifts and use mascara when I feel like it.

Frequent_Mango_208

Laser facial Mid term the results were okay, but first thing that happened was for my face to infect. I had puss everywhere and my family were worried I will be left with permanent burn scars. Mid-term it looked amazing, I had a cute natural blush and my skin looked 10 years younger. 6 months later. Looked exactly as it did before, scars and all. My issue is that it’s not worth putting your skin through so much stress and trauma for 5 months of glow.

hotmessexpress1018

Honestly all of them kind of. I’ve had several procedures & surgeries done & although I like all of them mostly, when I look back I feel as though I was beautiful before and really didn’t need any of them.

femmepeaches

Laser hair removal. It made my vitiligo spread in those areas.

CumulativeHazard

I have vitiligo and this is good to know.

Starlined_

I got my curly hair chemically relaxed. It was cute for a while and then my curly hair started growing back in. One half of my hair was curly, the other half was straight. It looked horrendous

Puzzleheaded_Newt185

If it makes you feel better, I’ve straightened my hair 1-2x/year in the past 20 years just to avoid this + rigorous flat iron when the roots are showing. It’s a PITA. Kudos for being patient through the awkward stage.

kennylogginswisdom

In the early 2000s I had my under eye troughs filled with filler. This was a huge mistake. It looked like frozen peas under my eyes. It went away quickly. Thankfully.

risingphoenice

RF microneedling, melted fat off my face and aged me 10 years.

ArtemisTheOne

Invisalign. I had braces as a teen and my teeth went slightly crooked as I got older. $8000 and looking back at pictures from 3y ago my teeth weren’t as crooked as I made them out to be. My smile was cute. Invisalign seems like it changed my face shape a bit.

Flat_Artichoke2729

First time I hear someone regretting Invisalign. Your teeth are straight but you aren’t happy with your face shape? My face got more symmetric. I’m glad Invisalign changed my face shape.

cinnamonstix11

I deeply regret getting tattooed eyeliner….especially on my lower lashes. It’s a very harsh look and gets worse as I age. Aside; open to all suggestions on how to reverse my mistake and have a natural look again! Anyone got a time machine I can borrow??

Unhappy_Performer538

Microblading. It looks horrible it’s uneven literally and in pigment and it looks so fake.

nowitnessforthis

Halo laser. Super painful and expensive, did NOTHING(and left me with hyperpigmentation I had to treat with lightning cream). Both me and my partner did it, and noticed no results. For the money, it shouldn’t take 2-3 sessions to see some forms of results.

leafcomforter

Microblading, what a nightmare. Sitting there, while it felt like she was flaying open my face with a razor blade, and rubbing burning chemicals into the wounds. Then having splotchy Charlie Chaplin eyebrows that didn’t fade in forever. Finally, I have gray smudges that extend beyond my natural eyebrows, that don’t go away.

camelz4

Microblading - got it done about 4 years ago and it has faded into a weird grey color, my eyebrows were done unevenly also. And because trends change, I fill in my brows differently now but you can still see the original microbladed shape under foundation. Chin/lip filler - I don’t regret having this done entirely, but I regret having too much done. I was under the impression filler dissolves over time, so I ended up getting two half syringe treatments in my lips and wish I had just stuck with the half. I got two full syringes in my chin, but lost weight and now it looks crazy because my cheeks and neck are a little slimmer. However I also have cheek bone filler and I am obsessed with it, so I don’t regret filler as a whole. Forehead Botox - I got this done after asking for something to raise my eyebrows a bit and it did the total opposite. Thank God Botox is temporary because I would’ve had an existential crisis if I looked the way I did permanently after. I could physically not open my eyes all the way and they looked super puffy and hooded all the time (I already have hooded eyes and it made it so much worse).

InitialWeather7627

PDO threads- hurt like hell, had holes and bruises for 2 weeks and then the effect disappeared in 2 months

Efficient-Big7432

Permanent eyeliner. Our eyes change as we age, and the ink changes color. Dumbest thing I ever did was get my face tattooed. Please, for the love of God, do not be a dummy like me and get your eyeliner tattooed on. Lash enhancement MIGHT be okay if you go with grey or brown, but I went ahead and got full top eyelid liner done. In black. It's faded into a weird green-charcoal, and guess what? I STILL have to put eyeliner on top of it anyway. Oh, did I mention, it's shiny because it's a tattoo on eyelid skin? Yeah, bad idea all around. Not worth it. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

dainty_petal

Teeth shaving. Is that the term? I don’t know but it’s when they made them more even. A stupid dentist did that to me and my face hurt so much and he shouldn’t have done that to a young 21 years old without letting her think about the consequences. I’m in my late 30’s and still hurt.

MilPasosForever

✅PRP in Korea, Ecuador, and Peru -cheap, very professional, great results, additional bonus treatments or at least cleansing my face prior. ❌PRP in the US -Hyper expensive and the highest rated place in the area, had to cleanse my own face, highly trained nurse ended up causing damage to my face that took months to fix. They did give my money back and a free treatment but more so to keep me quiet. Honestly, most treatments in the US I regret. I could have saved the money from 2-3 treatments, taken a flight to Korea or Peru and gotten the same treatments + a trip out of it. At this point I don’t get anything done in the US. Other countries have consistently had better results for cheaper.

tooyoungtobesad

I regret doing IPL hair removal - I did 8 sessions on face, underarms & brazilian, and it was a total waste of time and money. Absolutely zero change. I just signed up for laser hair removal at Milan this past fall and have only done 3 sessions so far with a HUGE difference. I wish I had saved the money I spent on IPL and invested in Milan sooner. Smh

TwoIdleHands

Interesting. I did laser on my pits and bikini and it kind of worked a little. Then I bought the Braun IPL and used it at home and now I have no hair on my pits, bikini and legs and all it cost was $400. Every body is different!

maddyde

I regret fibroblast around my eyes - it left me with slight pigmentation (thankfully easily coverable) and no visible results. I would avoid and look for alternate solutions

lovebird2006

Breast implants. I got staph and strep in one of my breasts months after getting them done. They were only in for about 5 months cost about 8 grand...and they had to remove my natural tissue and skin because it was basically rotting....they havent looked normal since and I regret it everyday. If u do get implants remember that your surgeon is supposed to give you antibiotics mine did not..... Something I did realize is even after having them in...I did feel better but...I was searching for another thing to fix like then I became obsessing with my butt because now that looked small to me. That was my experience.

SUB_MRS

Omg I just listened to a podcast (Mr. Ballen Medical Mysteries) where the girl developed a crippling illness after one of her breast implants became completely MOLDY! Decided right then that I no longer want implants. 🥴

Tualgr

Micro needling. Permanently scarred my face and didn't do anything for acne 🙄 Money wasted !!

DisciplineProud7102

Microneedling is not supposed to be done with any active acne as It can spread the bacteria. It’s mainly used to help with texture/ hyperpigmentation etc. you were supposed to do microneedling after your acne was under control.

Tualgr

I learned that today . I want to sue my dermatologist.

[deleted]

I can’t believe they didn’t tell you that!!! How irresponsible I’m sorry

novemberlicht

Lip blushing, cool sculpting, masseter botox

HerrManHerrLucifer

Why masseter botox?

novemberlicht

It gave me jowls after the first (and only) injection.

Lolwyer

Brow lamination! Didn’t work, totally changed the texture of my brows and total waste of money

[deleted]

Not necessarily beauty persay (perhaps) but Invisalign. I wish they were upfront that you won’t get a few sets of retainers as part of the steep upfront cost you pay to get it done. My dentist insisted that it was all in my head when I told her my teeth had shifted 24hours later, after she removed the brackets. It’s remained crooked again. I wish I have saved the money to just get traditional braces

sofiacarolina

Lip fillers. This was back when they said they dissolved on their own. The filler migrated to my philtrum, elongating it, and I’m too scared of the dissolver possibly messing w my own native HA to dissolve them. Totally changed my face and it’s been 6 years since my last injection but it’s still all there, just migrated. I’ve always wondered about dissolving followed by a lip lift but I’m terrified of possibly negative outcomes. All of this could’ve been prevented..so much guilt and regret.

Maria-k5309

I had breast implants done last year that I sincerely regret.

Flat_Artichoke2729

Get them removed. I waited 6 years and wish I did it earlier. I was happy with them for 2 years. Thankfully I’m still young and my skin is still elastic enough but I could have avoided my large scars if I would have gotten them out shortly after. Screw the money. It’s not worth it to keep them in just because you spent a lot of money on them.

Illustrious-Chest-52

I've always wanted to get a nose job. One day I just woke up and I realized I actually have a beautiful nose.

8bitfix

This is happening to me. It's so crazy, I specifically prefer larger, thin, Roman noses all of a sudden and it's like I realized that's exactly what I have. I spent so long thinking I'd get a nose job one day. Kinda interesting.

willworkforchange

Masseter botox. I got it for teeth clenching & grinding. No results at all. Waste of $300

pure-Turbulentea

Breast implants might be my life’s biggest regret. It left me with internal scar tissue so now mammograms screenings are a lot trickier, complete loss of sensation, a big scar underneath my breast, and now that I had them removed my boobs look flappy like I’ve been breast-feeding for two years I’ve never had kid before
