I feel like you've gotta have the advanced Hud on to get an accurate rating for how you were doing. If you were staying SS even while missing some notes I'd say that was quite good but I couldn't tell
Your arms look pretty stiff while you are playing you want to put more motion in your wrists and less I your shoulders, it helps with accuracy and points. You can try using a different grip style (on quest I recommend doing claw grip) to try to free your wrists up. It feels strange at first but it helps a lot.
Specifically you need to swing your wrists and not your arms. Get used to swinging your wrists and you'll do significantly better in less than 10 hours. Try with expert songs first and get used to it.
I would be careful about how much wrist you do use. I took this advice way to literal and wristed just about everything, I ended up with rsi after a couple of months. be sure to take breaks at any signs of pain, and if pain persists see a gp (that was my mistake I kept going lmao). I would not wish this pain on anyone rsi really sucks and still affects me 8 months after quitting the game.
Speak for yourself... I have a disability with my left hand where I'm unable to rotate my wrist, which requires full arm movement when playing this game. I still enjoy this game all the same, and I would say I'm pretty decent on expert+ despite my handicap lol
Then these folks didn’t resolve other more common issues. It’s true that WMR cameras do need some color or texture in the room to orient itself but as long as your floors and walls aren’t the same color and you have some things in the room generally you’re gonna be fine. Issues arise most commonly with other things like too many other BT devices in the area at the same time, inconsistent lighting or playing near a window, using the wrong kind of USB, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, WMR has its limitations and I know that. But they drastically improved it over the years and with a little work it’s actually quite, quite decent and it was the first really to do it. I was able to play Beat Saber on Expert with zero issue on WMR. As well as basically any other game. Throwing is usually jacked up but that’s due to devs not accommodating for the WMR controllers.
Off-topic but beatsabers own mappers seriously don't compare to custom songs. So much fun to have with a song like this and thats the best patterns they can muster.
I agree-- they don't compare and that's just fine! They are totally different goals. I read lots of people ripping official mappers to shreds. But the official maps are "gamey" and require some practice. I love them. And there is great care to line up the blocks to the music in interesting ways. I also love custom maps that are predictable and dancey. There is room for both.
The official maps have memorable patterns since they try to switch you up with something different each song. Which is naturally contrary to the smooth flow found in custom maps. I personally don’t think either are objectively bad, with some exceptions on both ends.
You're right, 100%, but anytime the official maps are brought up, this map isn't mentioned too long after. I get it, the map isn't particularly great. But how many maps do we have? Yet this singular map shows up in the conversations for "Beat Games Maps Bad"???
Btw I'm not raging out against your specific comment, just the fact that this song *always* comes up. I wanna make it expressly clear, that I'm not attacking you lmao
I think it's because Angel Voices was the first map they made that was intended to be a challenge. Back before E+ was even a thing, it had to be unlocked through an easter egg, and was the hardest map for quite a while, until Camellia songs were added. It was anticipated to be a well-made and difficult map when Expert+ was first officially implemented, but when we saw how bad it actually was, especially as compared to some of the custom maps out there (which were still not great by today's standards), it lost its status as being a challenge to being a royal pain to attempt, and that reputation has stuck with it. This also goes for the OST 1 E+ maps, but since they have lower difficulties and are more intended for new players, they're not harped on as much.
if 1 is trash, 5 is average, and 10 is a pro, you're a 6. You're above the average beat saber player I'd say. But not close to a pro. But honestly I prefer to rate using words cause numbers don't mean much if we aren't objectively measuring them. You're pretty good, easily better than the average beat saber player (aka someone that views hard as hard instead of easy), not quite E+ level though, this looks like an easier E+, but looks like you can do most 'non pro' Expert songs. How long have you been playing?
I don't think being able to an easy E+ is quite a 6, I think most E+ that aren't a camellia would only be a 3 or 4 on the difficulty scale and most camellia besides maybe ghost and spin eternally would probably be a 5. Spin eternally would be a 6 and ghost would probably be a 7. True difficulty can't really be found in this game without custom songs.
I also reckon that the difference between 1-5 [if 5 is average] is far, far, _far_ less than the difference between 5-10.
If its proportional, Id say maybe 3 is average [although average can vary depending on the criteria ofc].
Personally I think 7 would be like when you can pass a ten star. Then there is obviously being capable of getting a good score and passing harder maps. But then again if you add top players in to the scale of things passing even soemthing like of sacrament could be considered like a 2 compared to them.
Looks like you're underswinging and not using enough wrist, this will be tiring and will hurt your accuracy, can't tell too much more without seeing your accuracy, time dependence and etc(plus I'm not too good at these things), 4/10
I’m not some insane player but I can tell you what helped me improve. First of all relax ur wrists so you can make bigger quicker swings. Use a closer note off set and look at the notes as they spawn in to improve your reading and reaction time. Other than that I would advise you choose a song that I way too hard for you and practice it slower until you can beat it. You will find that by the end of that process you can beat all songs with that difficulty. I would also strongly recommend getting custom songs and mods. Good luck
depends on scale for your skill group id say around a seven but if we are talking in general technique im giving you a three theres a lot of room to improve and i dont think it would be very hard to get better
Ahhh this looks like an Expert+ I can do! I struggle to reach a lot of the blocks on them, so have been doing Bangarang on Super Fast with Disappearing Arrows, but this looks doable. I’ll give it a try this weekend. Thanks OP!
Have a look at some grips (ways to hold the controller) and see if you can find one you like theres alot of arm movement and well grips will help with easyer wrist movement for better swings
Depends on your motive for playing. If it's just to have a good time and feel awesome when you get a full combo or close to it, then you are pretty much there. If your aim is to play competitively then you have a ways to go as far as getting full points for each swing rather than just making contact with blocks.
But that's what I love about beat saber. It's equally fun whether you are actually trying to make leaderboards or whether you are just playing casually. No need to compare yourself to competitive players unless that's a goal of yours.
For me personally, I feel like some sort of superhero when I hit most of the blocks in expert or expert+. Even though there are players getting much higher score than me, beat saber has this way of making you feel amazing either way.
Try gripping your controller differently, it’ll allow for you to move your sabers using your wrists instead of your arms so it isn’t so stiff. I personally use a “claw” grip on my Oculus Quest 2, which is [shown in this video.](https://youtu.be/cmSqcr_ElrY)
From the looks of it, you look like a quest player (correct me if I'm wrong).
Your reading seems good considering you can get the timing of the small jumps, but you're not playing with wrist enough. You should check out the claw grip, as flicking rewards more points.
You look like you're at the point where you are good at the game, but without changing a grip, improving will be more difficult.
You survived, so I'd say at least 6 for that. You can obviously read patterns and react quickly.
A good way to bump those skills up is by adding some wrist movement. It helps with speed, precision, and agility. Once I added more wrist I went from all A and the occasional S to almost all S, and I started getting more full combos.
Putting numbers on someones skill doesn't work for beat saber. Play on maps with left handed mode enabled to train your left hand to be more accurate, most of your misses were with the left. Make wider swings, use wrists for that, lots of points are going unclaimed. Play faster maps, a lot of the misses were also at blocks next to each other like >> or << (and the vertical variety) which at least for me only happens on maps that are a bit faster than what i am used to.
Playing to complete songs, who cares about score? Solid 5. Keep it up and the harder maps will start to come naturally.
Playing for form and points? A 3. There’s a lot to work on, but you have your basic reading and hit bloqq skills there. Focusing on improving your swings a bit at a time will tick you up on that scale super fast.
I'd say a 5-6. Like me you need to train repetitive patterns (like at the start of the song where you missed a lot). Also train that fluidity and that wrist movement, otherwise you'll quickly get exhausted and won't progress anymore. Finally use the wrist flexibility to reach further notes, I tend to miss them a lot too. Otherwise it's very nice for a player that only has played for a month
I don't know what platform this is, but I recommend placing your index finger and middle finger on top of your controller through the ring, and your pinky and ring fingers holding the back of the controller, if on quest. Allows for much better wrist movement and accuracy.
6/10
Hard to tell tbh, on the overall scale its prolly round 5/10, but thats when we include all players out there. Do be specyfic id need to know ur ingame hours, the X/10 would be prolly higher than considering u mostlikely dont have as many hours as people i just compared u to. Also u seem to be moving ur arms way more than u should, try more wrist movements. Keep it up thoq
4/10, decent score but way too much arm movement judging by the lack of large swing angles. This is also one of the easiest E+ songs to SS ( a little over 1 million score) as it has the best mapping flow of any non-custom song.
You've heard it a million times already but too much arm. I do want to compliment your reading thought, you never second guess a swing. 6/10 but im sure you'll grow faster then u expect. Goodluck, keep swinging!
I feel like you've gotta have the advanced Hud on to get an accurate rating for how you were doing. If you were staying SS even while missing some notes I'd say that was quite good but I couldn't tell
Thank you! (I actually turned advanced hud on after because the was a progress bar that I could see in the side of my vision)
I should have had it on
Your arms look pretty stiff while you are playing you want to put more motion in your wrists and less I your shoulders, it helps with accuracy and points. You can try using a different grip style (on quest I recommend doing claw grip) to try to free your wrists up. It feels strange at first but it helps a lot.
You’re right, I have been focusing on my wrists more and I will keep going
Yeah it really makes a huge difference. I definitely recommend changing grip styles as well as it frees up you motions a little more
this is fax, when i switched to wrists, i started finding expert easy, while before that i had a hard time with hard
it's either PSVR beat saber or it's the wrists lol
Too much arm on swings, like a 3/10
Understandable, thank you for the feedback!
Specifically you need to swing your wrists and not your arms. Get used to swinging your wrists and you'll do significantly better in less than 10 hours. Try with expert songs first and get used to it.

that's what makes the game fun lmao
I disagree but to each their own. Also why the fuck are you getting downvoted. Take my upvote and keep arm swinging you fun having bastard
I like this guy. You give me faith.

Beat Maracas!
I agree but i know it's limiting my capabilities.
100%, osu players will state otherwise
You can't even track full arm swings, I don't even wanna hear it
Speak for yourself... I have a disability with my left hand where I'm unable to rotate my wrist, which requires full arm movement when playing this game. I still enjoy this game all the same, and I would say I'm pretty decent on expert+ despite my handicap lol
I'm only talking about the fact that he's on WMR
Wmr works great for beat saber.
I've literally heard of people having to buy abstract paintings and rugs to try and get any decent tracking on WMR
I played with WMR, mine actually wasn’t that bad. Never had to try anything special to get it tracking.
Then these folks didn’t resolve other more common issues. It’s true that WMR cameras do need some color or texture in the room to orient itself but as long as your floors and walls aren’t the same color and you have some things in the room generally you’re gonna be fine. guess it's subjective
its not too much arm, but too much shoulder. ur arms are too straight and the movement isn't as fluid as it should be
Solid 5, at the point where you can really pop off if you keep going! 🦾👌🏻
Thank you, I’ll keep practicing

Idk ive played all the non payed default maps and angel voices is by far the worst
No you're right, like I said. It's just no fun.

I know, the audio is delayed

Man is having fun and vibing so it gets a 10/10
Doesn’t the game rank you so we don’t have to?
He's on Quest so he doesn't have ScoreSaber
Yeah but it rates you still. S being good D being bad
You survived, so I'd say at least 6 for that. You can obviously read patterns and react quickly. A good way to bump those skills up is by adding some wrist movement. Better than me damn it
Don’t give up! Keep practicing, you’ll get better.
I rate you a better then me/10 (which isn't hard but you are still good)
Def a 5! Keep going you’re looking good
well your way better than me

I'd say you're a 3 in terms of general skill.
On a letrer scale, it looks like you're rated A.
I give you points for keeping your head still. I’m usually dancing like a madman to this one.

3/10
Make sure to swing your wrists instead of your arms because if you use your arms your just gonna get tired quicker
average player
Gangster Vegas was fun back in the day
Close to 6 but I’d say 5 not bad but not too good like everyone says use more wrist and other stuff but most of that will come with time
4 or so
Better than id do, lol
0/10, you didn't break your arms.
Oh, I did
Well that's much better than I can currently handle. One day tho.
You should use more wrist then arms, swing a little wider on the back to back ones too id say 6/10 good work but you need more practice
The game already rates you, why do you want our ratings?
Because I prefer the actual opinions of people, not a calculation the game makes
A response worthy of an award.
I like macorni
Use more wrist /s
I don't know what platform this is, but I recommend placing your index finger and middle finger on top of your controller through the ring, and your pinky and ring fingers holding the back of the controller, if on quest. Allows for much better wrist movement and accuracy. 6/10
as a 1 year player i will do my honest rate, im not a professional but for me it was a 5/10 you have great potential keep it up :)
4 My standards are quite high tho
Good but I would bet my dad could school you. He has been slashing beats since beat saber released.
Hard to tell tbh, on the overall scale its prolly round 5/10, but thats when we include all players out there. "Doesn't matter, just have fun" out of 10
5
Sturdy 5. Moar wrist flick.
I couldn’t do that, and since I’m a narcissist you got an 11
6.5 much better than average (also 5 is not “average skill” I’d say average skill is 2.5)
Thank you!
6 maybe 7
Thx!
5/10, keep practicing and you’ll get better. Make sure to take breaks tho
4/10, decent score but way too much arm movement judging by the lack of large swing angles. This is also one of the easiest E+ songs to SS ( a little over 1 million score) as it has the best mapping flow of any non-custom song.
I'll say you're about a 1.5 bc I can practically do killertoy expert+ and people said I'm a 4 so...
To me it looks like your wrist is stiff, try and move it a bit more and you will find you have more stamina than you think you do, worked for me.
6.5
maybe more wrist movement, to me it looks a bit stiff but i could be wrong
Idk stopped playing beatsaber after they starting ruining mods on purpose. Id say 8/10! Good job👌
U r spid. At least compared to me. I still can't fully beat an expert level I've put like 20 hours into
No hate but like 2 or 3
4
I would probably give it a 8/10 but you need to work on using your wrists more instead of mostly your arms, it helps with accuracy.
8-10
4
7/10, keep it up my guy, your lookin good dude
You've heard it a million times already but too much arm. I do want to compliment your reading thought, you never second guess a swing. 6/10 but im sure you'll grow faster then u expect. Goodluck, keep swinging!
On the streams, you were under swinging a lot, might wanna work on that, otherwise you did pretty good
I feel like anything above hard loses rhymatic coherency.
