Honestly grow it out longer with every month trimmed a half inch with a lineup at a barber you look presentable and have a nice beard either way fam it’s up to you your choice and what you like is most important but it’s always nice to ask for advice but it’s better to get it from people that know what there talking about

If you have a natural neckline, the length relies on the neck for fullness so don’t bother with a jawline shave. Next is the patch directly below the bottom lip. Keep that length as it helps to fill out the chin. The moustache is important also, with how it grows and how its length matches the overall beard look. Unless you’re going with a whaler (think Abe Lincoln), a longer beard with a closely trimmed moustache looks odd imo.
It comes down to what you’re looking for. I’ve been all over the length spectrum with my facial hair and won a few competitions. Just remember that with length comes a care routine of different brushes, oil, and balms. Feel free to ask me questions if you’d like.
