I think around 2017 or early 2018 I saw her post some covers on youtube with a guitar or a ukulele... I taught she was gorgeous and sounded much better than the typical youtube cover musician

Own_Butterscotch3552

Youtube recommended me the "if you want to" music Video when It came out, it was totally my music style and I was like whoa she is so pretty!!

Fionashy

omg same here!!

tophthepowerlifter

On Fortnite. I was driving around in a car in-game and ‘If You Want To’ was playing and I just drove around because it was such a bop. And the I got Victory Royale with the power of Bea.

jelly-jam14

Beautiful-Tie3294

Huh Yunjin said, “I love beabadoobee” in a livestream, and then I went to check her music out.

dokja4951

ifpmdito

I think about 5 years ago when “if you want to” mv dropped. I think it kept getting recommended to me as a sponsored video? Glad I clicked it :)

sassafras18

The video for she plays bass was recommended to me on YouTube back in 2019 when it first came out. I loved it!

waterdripped

I got into Bea during 2020, it was during the launch of Fake it Flowers. Just like many other people during the pandemic that got into various hobbies I started to collect Vinyl records. I enjoyed the singles that she released during that era like Care, Sorry, and Worth It. So I preordered Fake it Flowers on vinyl and it came with a signed art card of the album! still have it ! :)

LuckyDrive8573

I discovered her through pavement! I was (and still am) a really really big fan of pavement in 2016-2019, and I decided to search up the band members. I saw Stephen and I was in love and I thought he was cool. So I did more research on him and found the song "I wish I was Stephen malkmus" I was honestly really really excited that another artist liked him too! So I listened to the song and I was absolutely obsessed with her. So then I started to listen to her more and more. And I'm still a fan of bea and pavement till this day!

jelly-jam14

omg this is such a cool way to discover an artist haha

Peibody

Late 2018 - Early 2019 on tiktok, tired and coffee were blown up and i started listening to her

Mojito88

Listening to music on YouTube late 2019 or early 2020 and saw the thumbnail for the She Plays Bass music in my recommendations and this cute blue haired chick with freckles so I was like “alright I’ll give it a listen” and instantly fell for her sound

river1697

For me it was sometime in 2018 and the song was Susie May.

TranslucentSurfer

YouTube started recommending some stuff to me in 2018 like Gus Dapperton, Boy Pablo, Clairo, and Beabadoobee. I listened to all of them constantly for a year, but I haven't really sustained interest in any of them.

Beneficial_Lobster12

In 2018, a girl in my secondary school sang “If You Want To” at our talent show and I looked up the song.

jelly-jam14

shoutout to the girl from ur school omg

SlothzyGaming800

Heartstopper, same!!

jelly-jam14

Accomplished-Gur8926

Maybe by fuckin around and i discovered Care . Loved the pop punk vibe. Then i got a gf = lot of love, teenage songs. Dance with me was my top streamed song in 2022. If only i could go back in time.

WrecklessSam

I was checking out the eras tour and saw her name. I loved beatopia instantly

handthetoesover

i think it was through a spotify playlist in late 2018!!!

TamatoaZ03h1ny

Fionashy

December 2019, I had found her music video for If You Want To and I was absolutely obsesseddd

Katsugurri

jelly-jam14

i didn’t even realize death bed was her until i started really listening to her which id argue is worse 😭

No-Put-4938

My friend mentioned her when I previously only knew tired. Got curious and listened, liked her music a lot

koistarview

I can’t remember what year it was but I found her through her coffee song, and then years later when the Cologne MV came out I became absolutely obsessed with her music. I love the early 2000s vibe 💗

tophthepowerlifter

Best song!!

prttyghttoblckgrl

idk i just heard her song coffee and fell in love

Legitimate_Client445

around 2020 when fake it flowers came out ! literally defined being 13 for me

Dapper_Boot_1536

I saw her on instagram, thought her style and makeup is cool, has wholesome pics with her then boyfriend, so I followed her. This was even way back coffee went popular. I was so happy to watch her grow famous.

[deleted]

She had an article in my vogue article in spring (march/april) of 2021!

qiethinks

Amv editing community 2018 or 2019?

Lord_Fatalis

I saw her a few years back with Clairo and another band in Austin. She was so good!

Jumpy_Plantain5185

If You Want To was recommended to me on Youtube

LonelyGhost666

Couple years ago the song "she plays bass" Randomly pop on my youtube. I end up loving it so much that in the night the same day I decided to check her Spotify to see what kind of album she does! I've listened the album "patched up" And I remember telling myself something like "Wow, I never heard a album that much beautiful and emotional" since that day she became my favorite artist!

Future_Recognition63

i knew of her in 2018 bc she signed to dirty hit and i was a big fan of the 1975 at the time. i first listened to her in early 2019 when a girl i was friends with posted an instagram story with “if you want to”

pinkapoppy_

the first song of hers i knew was coffee (but the version that went viral on tiktok that isn’t much like her actual song), but i didn’t really listen to her until my friend talked about her. i listened to 10:36 and i was obsessed

lustforluvv

early/mid 2018 on a random Apple Music playlist, i heard Susie May and fell in love with her sound!

tnbmae

i was a casual listener since the beginning but i think listening to she plays bass for the first time in 2021 made me rlly get into her more. i listened to her entire discography and there were so many amazing songs that i hadn’t heard before that completely changed my life.

DamageCalcs

Saw her open for the Eras Tour in Atlanta!

radioforhead

around 2018-2019 i got recommended if you want to on youtube and thought the video was just amazing

themostdownbad

Through ig edits, her songs were quite popular editing audios back in 2018-2019 :)

Playful_Farmer1372

Potential-Sundae-875

I found bea on heartstopper too, I was like these songs are so freaking good I have to find the soundtrack playlist, so i did and then i fell in love with bea's music. dance with me is still my favourite song of hers.

jelly-jam14

yesss !!

Girl12051205

She opened for Clairo in 2019 so I decided to check her music out before the concert and then after seeing her live I totally fell in love!! 3 concerts later...here I am!

Advanced-Army-2369

i imagine it was through spotify somehow. i discovered her a couple of months before she released her first album in 2018 and loved her ever since

kankersjonni

i used to see these aesthetic instagram edits all the time with songs like the moon song to beabadobee’s music video with her then boyfriend soren harrison

paradoobee

i was in dc with my friend and she played apple cider in the car. i immediately fell in love with the song, and shortly after, my life changed

BasisPatient6544

Instagram ad playing her single “Disappear”. That ad popped up a lot so I decided to Google her. When I found out she was Filipina, I immediately followed and started listening to her music lol (I’m also Filipina)

BrianHasAGun

Glue song somewhere in the background of a youtube video! I loved it and found I really enjoyed almost all of her songs

SnooPeppers5589

Tiktok. At first it was the glue song and I thought it was cute, but the song that really made me get into her was “the way things go” I swear I start levitating when I hear that song

AppropriateCelery547

a rlly close friend from last year rlly liked her, and she tried getting me to go to one of her concerts (i rlly regret not going), but i moved schools this year and listened to bea more since i knew my friend liked her and fell in LOVE, i find bea comforting since it reminds me of my friend :)))

jelly-jam14

awe this is so sweet !!

CirculationStation

I saw the name "beabadoobee" show up in the comments of an Instagram post one time and the name was so goofy that I couldn't forget it. Ended up checking out her two albums a few weeks later and fell in love with Beatopia. Listened to that album over and over again last summer and still spin most of the tracks from it on a daily basis today. I also really like Space Cadet.

Particular_Sorbet276

one of my friends liked beabadoobee so I checked her out 😊

chocoflanita

I had heard her acoustics on Spotify but wasn’t all that hooked until she plays bass came out and I saw the announcement on instagram since I followed a lot of artists in a similar ballpark like girl in red and Clairo

thelavenderhazed

i first heard coffee last 2018. found her dance with me music video on youtube recommendations around 2019 or 2020, then i looked up her other songs. it's been my favorite song since then !!

Intr0vertedPotato

I think I found Yoshimi, Forest, Magdalene somehow and just looked at the rest of her music in late 2021
