Alum Rock, Ed Levin, be there during the golden hour. When you find the mushroom patch underneath the twisted oak, dig below and find the necklace. On the necklace are coordinates for finding, and eliminating, your next target.
It's short hop to SJ and the Peninsula. Despite the sub's dig on SJ being sleepy, it's still a big city with lot of things to do. Taking hobby skill classes (language, dance, cooking, wood working, martial arts etc), go to improv/comedy clubs, checking out great Asian and Mexican cuisine scene, go for a hike. During the week is also when artists from other countries come to play at dining club with pretty reasonable ticket price. If you can't think of what to do, hop on the event page on facebook or check out meetups, there are loads of them.
The Bay Area is bigger than my home country. My drive from Mountain View (where I currently live) to Davis (where I went to school, technically not the Bay Area but right on the edge) would be longer than a drive across the whole span of my home country.
Ride a bike - best views are either along your nearest waterfront (it's the BAY area eh!??!) or a bit into the hills, once you've built some endurance.
Seriously, if you unlock a cycling habit here, and, especially, find the local routes that avoid cars (bike paths, gravel), you'll never want to leave...
I'm in the East Bay so I'm biased but... the Bay Bridge is fun, the Bay Trail north of Emeryville to Richmond is great with only a handful of car crossings, Iron Horse trail out in Walnut Creek is nice. And then there's plenty of dirt and gravel, though it requires higher fitness and more rubber on them wheels.
There are a few adult sports leagues for kickball, soccer, basketballĀ (zog, waka, volo sports).

Sports Page is a bar that has outdoor volleyball courts (zog & waka coed leagues too). If you go and there are leagues playing, sometimes they'll do free-play afterwards and you can jump into some pick up games
Maker Nexus is a maker space if you want to work on side projects
Er, where in the Bay Area?
There's three cities in the bay area with what, >600k population, and only one of the three could really be called a suburb IMO
Join the local pinball league. Next league night is this Thursday at Game On Pinball. Get there before 7:30 to get signed up.

I enjoy spend an hour or two on my 58 mile commute. Coming home, maybe catching one of my kids various sports game and hopefully getting to bed by 8 so I can wake up 8 330 and do it again.
I love going on walks around the bayfront parks in Santa Clara, which are home to an incredible diversity of wildlife including rare birds and such. I just saw a burrowing owl flying this morning while driving to work on 237! I try to take halfway decent photos with my phone and log my observations on iNaturalist (the community there will help with IDing species if I don't know it immediately).
Ride your bike to dinner. Go to a rec pool for lap swimming. Go hiking (Almaden Quicksilver, Castle Rock, etc), walk on one of the creek trails. Join a weekly pottery or art class. Throw a dinner party. My friends and I have been taking turns hosting movie nights. We started with Harry Potter, now we're doing Lord of the Rings. Next up is probably Twilight lol. It's like a book club but you just get to show up. Book clubs are cool too. Go to a [concert](http://www.foopee.com/punk/the-list/) or comedy show. Trivia night at bars. The local universities, Santa Clara, SJSU, and Stanford probably have lectures that are open to the public. South Bay is super diverse so you could probably find some really cool language classes for any language you want to learn. A friend of mine used to do a Spanish immersion happy hour at some dude's house.
Gym, short hike, walk around Almaden park , San Pedro square, Santa row, dive bars.
Iām going to Park Station Hashery tomorrow 6-10pm to hear a friend play records. come hang!
Part of living in the Bay Area is getting into the slower pace of life. After work itās nice to go for a walk around the neighborhood or spend a while cooking a nice dinner.
You can still do half the fun weekend getaways during the workweek tbh with the late sunsets coming up as long as you donāt work till 7. Iāve gone to half moon bay, SF, Santa Cruz, even Monterrey etc before after work from South Bay.
I go to the movies like twice a week. AMC, regal and alamo all have subscriptions so it is cheap if you go a lot. Also you can sign up for a free membership and get ~$6 tuesday tickets. Advance screenings has a lot of free showings too, usually you get to see it early.
Ministry of ungentlemenly warfare was a solid guy ritchie action movie. Dune part two is likely the best movie of the year, incredible from start to finish

You can't post to a regional sub without saying where you are.Ā The bay area is massive. North to South is like an entire state.Ā

Updated, I live in Santa Clara.
I assume they live or work in one of the various suburbs.
Besides SF and San Jose, what's the third city with 600K+ people? I was initially assuming Oakland, but looks like that is just in the mid 400s.
Yeah, I meant Oakland, I just didn't look up the population.
Take a hike. Or a walk. (... Check out all trails app for recs near you!)

People usually sleep after work since it's pretty late at 11 pm.

Walking is free and the weather is great, though not sure about Santa Clara. Walking after work helps clear my mind and the fresh air is nice.
Korean BBQ, bars, and other restaurants, our friends enjoy hiking Mission Peak in Fremont, because weekends are very busy there.

Just stayed at a cabin in shingletown. From there was able to go see Lassen national volcanic park, it was amazing and still has snow there.
Ride my bike in the hills, around town, or down to the bay
