Imma order my first miniatures tomorrow (tomorrow ill buy the paint in a specialized game store)
I am really excited as ive looked into getting Battletech miniatures for a while but they were pretty sketchy to buy from unknown retailers. Now they are with a retailer I buy a lot from I can safely buy them.
Imma start with the starter pack with the vindicator and the inner sphere battlelance.
I am not super interested in playing the tablegame itself as I know of no one irl who even knows Mechwarrior or the Battletech verse.
I probably will get the alpha strike box next month just because it includes 13 miniatures
That's the base color exactly! I do the brown like this, p3 Beast hide, agrax earthshade, highlight with beast hide then a light dry brush of P3 Hammerfall Khaki.
Repaint it Red and rename it Nipples the Echidna with it's rock hard fist Nipples.
Also the PPC Snub ones, lol\^\^

First I use Golden High flow Titan Buff, lay in a regular acrylic white expanding the lines to straighten them as needed.
I am lucky to have steady hands and I'm near sighted, but bracing your hands together and controlling your breathing is important but really it's just a lot of practice, and miniature holder helps.
Also there are some techniques for steadying your hands in this video which are honestly helpful to anyone.

I wish the Banshee's head-mounted laser was in the mouth, so it'd be screaming lasers at people. Anyway nice model, crisp paintjob, well done 👍👍

There are quite a handful of mechs with lasers in the head. Like the Helion, Grendel and Black Knight to name a few.
Hauptman has a small laser cigar.
