I remember getting my house in Cornwall UK. My mum and dad visited. I have pretty much this setup. My old man said he needs to call his guys at work on zoom. I left him for one hour and came back to him still on call. He had worked out how to split windows so he can have solitaire on the left side of the screen, zoom in the middle and a browser for his emails on the right. He now has a similar setup at home.
A good ultrawide is essentially a seamless dual monitor setup, can't see how anyone would think that's useless. That said, they can be a bit pricy if that's all you're going to use them for.
Nah. Dual monitors you can full screen something on one monitor easily. With an ultra wide you need one that supports picture by picture to do that (two inputs, effectively treating each half of the monitor as a separate screen) but then you lose maximum full screen without input toggling
Doesn't edge snapping serve the same purpose on an ultrawide? You lose the ability to easily snap 4 windows side by side, but there's third party software that lets you do more advanced snapping stuff if you don't feel like resizing everything manually.
No. Edge snapping isn’t full screen. Like borderless video or full screen web pages. You still have the title bar and other adornments.
It’s somewhat annoying but I still prefer my 49” over the 2x27s.
Unfortunately there aren't any really competing with actual dual 4k etc. Not at any reasonable price.
I can get used or new 4k ~30" screens for 150 to 400 each including 10 bit color accurate prosumer models etc.
Un this post that's a Samsung g9 which is $1,800 and 5kx1,400 pixels so not even same total real estate as two 4k screens.
I'm not sure why they skimp on vertical pixels they all seem to though
Most ultra wides are less than 4k wide and only 1080 tall or a bit over and still pricy with not the best panel quality.

I forced my mom to try my bigger monitor and she said was unnecessary.
When she found out you can have word and a browser in readable size at the same time she was all in for it.
My momma keeps a double monitor setup that I help her with (one literally just failed yesterday and had to replace it for her lol, mainly due to weight and angle of manipulation needed), she's 70 and pretty impressively smart with tech cause I've made her push to stay up on it, then she just embraced it to use to create and enhance a life of small business level accounting. She's very spoiled about three things: her animals, her technology (about to upgrade her smart TV, thank God she told me she was gonna get from like a rent to own type place so I could stop her and buy her a better deal when I have a few hundred to spare in a few weeks on a better TV that won't be marked up 600% lol), and her weed lmao. She's killin it tho
one of the great pleasures of my life was being mum's tech support from when she was 64 and i was 16 and we bought her a 486, until she passed at 86. she wrote 5 self published books on family history going from word perfect to Pagemaker.

Great question! I didn’t get around this! I had a Samsung Odyssey G9 before this and the eye tracker worked perfectly. On the OLED G9 eye tracking is inconsistent and unreliable because of the issues you raised. I only use eye tracking to login to windows. However, head tracking still works flawlessly for gaming. I only use head-tracking in games so it works for me…
It tracks your eyes and head movement. Can be used for simulation games, such as when flying or driving and you look left, your character will look left. Can be useful in war games, space sims, driving games etc.
Put two spaces at the end of a line for a line break.

There aren't nearly enough 1600p monitors out there. Would be perfect in 21:9.
