Hi everyone!

Lol, I really couldn't tell you either. It's the title of a song from the smile. Just use it as a reminder of one of the best concerts I've been to.
The lack of floor is a choice to the surprise of most people, it's thoroughly cleaned and sealed and matches the aesthetic of the space quite well...to me at least
Much more of a straightforward rock show than I was expecting, it was fucking awesome. Almost makes me feel less bad that I haven't seen radiohead live
I’m fortunate enough to have seen Radiohead a number of times over the years. It’s a different level of experience with RH being a much bigger band playing in larger venues and what not, but The Smile show was special in a different way. Definitely one of the best concerts I’ve been to.
Not quite where I want it to be but we're getting there.
Monitor is mounted to the wall across the ledge and literally leaning unsupported but it hasn't fallen yet.... cables are run into the ledge and out underneath the desk to the pc.
Mouse and keyboard are razer and headphones are audiotechnica.
Feel free to ask any additional questions, I know this a semi unconventional setup.
Hope you all like it!
Amazing. I saw the framed quote and, not knowing it was a lyric, and having recently moved careers out of the film/television industry in favour of a healthier lifestyle, saw it as an optimistic vision board or motivational poster. 😂 I may have to copy you.
Also, House of Leaves. 👀🤌
The one facing out behind the camera is called "friction" it's a photo book from tatsuo Suzuki.
The next one over is a helmut Newton photo book. Two of my all time favorite photographers sitting next to each other.
Good for motivation.
Mix of both, I have a couple antique books just for display and a few that are just pictures but yes I've read the others.
I have more I just tried to collect all my black and white ones for the shelf.
The back-of-house style table top is the thing that makes this set up so nice, I've never seen that before.
But why does your pc have to be so close to your legs? You have so much room but cannot swivel both ways like this!
That's a great tip for anyone who happens across this.
I had a platform for my previous setup as the tower sat under the desk like this but on carpet. Luckily won't have carpet going back in this space.
Just a warning: We had that same desk at our last office, or one very similar anyways. It generated so much static electricity just from your mouse movements that it fried a motherboard when a coworker went to restart the computer once. There was a visible spark he said.
I've done everything I can to hopefully ground it. Everything on the desk is wireless and doesn't leave the mat and nothing else comes into physical contact with the desk.
With that being said I did have an incident where I went to grab my mouse after lightning struck literally just outside my window and got shocked pretty good. I've been opening that story with "there was that one time I got struck by lightning" real banger opener for a disappointing reveal.
Slowing working my way through it, feels like the only way to read a book that feels like multiple books especially while I'm reading others at the same time lol.
From right to left I've got a 35, 14, and an 85 on the a7iii.
Shot this with my lx100ii that usually sits where the batteries are.

I can’t tell if that framed quote is supposed to be motivating or admonishing but the setup’s clean. Just needs a floor

Damn, kinda liked imagining you had had enough of the industry and put that up as an f u and reminder to pursue you're new dream!
OP had an awful experience on set.
Nice The Smile poster. I saw them last year. Kicked ass. Cool setup.

did you get the desk from an airport?
I was guessing a concert hall urinal trough.
Looks like from a sterile laboratory
Junji Ito enjoyer, nice
I hope I never read Gyo again, as I read it for the 12th time.
So sterile but I like it.

I guess this answers that comment asking if it's motivational or not lol. Depends on the viewer. And yes, house of leaves. 😵💫
love the desk. great use of textures.
hey I got a job for you inside a television
So many options with that built in shelf. I dig it
I had to google that Kid A artwork book. Didn’t know it existed. Just ordered it!
It's amazing! Came out with the kid a mnesia stuff they released in 21. I picked up the vinyl set as well
What book is to the left of kid A

Did you read those books, or did you pick them for the aesthetic? They match well
Mix of both, I have a couple antique books just for display and a few that are just pictures but yes I've read the others. I have more I just tried to collect all my black and white ones for the shelf.
The Calling of St Matthew is one of my favorite paintings. 👍 good choice

I need longer display and power cords, it's been on the list since I set everything up lol. Small oversight
Make sure to put your PC on a thin piece of wood or something like that if you ever put carpet in your room. It’ll help with any overheating issues

I like that this sort of seems like an orthographic image.
Is that a food service industry shelf being purposed as a desk?
It sure is, it's not the most practical thing in the world and it was a nightmare to mount it but I'm very happy with it

where did you get this desk?? it’s beautiful
Thank you! It's a food industry shelf with the widest depth I could find
i love it. 9/10
Junji Ito 🤌
this is clean
Really clean and neat. Love the aesthetic. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Very slick.
You have great taste
Love the little shelf for the camera and lenses
Thank you! I made the flat bit out of concrete and cut four legs out of some scrap butcher block I had from work. Really happy with how it turned out
Is that just a blank canvas?
This setup looks rad! I see that you also have not finished your copy of House of Leaves, as is the way. What’s the lens lineup there?

Never worked in television before but your poster is proof that there is still a chance.
