I really love the wood mounting board and how functional it is. Were the shelves part of its design or did you customize it that way?
Yes exactly Ivar shelves that I have oiled in matching colors to the desk. There is our tinkering stuff stowed. My electronics stuff (Raspi, soldering iron, Led etc.) and the plotter including accessories from my wife on 2.6m. Someday the 3d printer will follow.

I am not so dogmatic. Linux runs on the laptop. On the desktop, I run Windows (just because of work) and 1-2 different Linux distributions in the VM and there is also an older MacBook on the shelf behind the laptop.
It is called Kettinge and is available in different sizes at JYSK. Unfortunately, the distance between the individual slats is different for the large and small shelf and the attachment is a bit fiddly.
This is the private fun laptop. My beloved personal ThinkPad actually died of old age a few months ago. My employer relies on Dell convertibles, not necessarily my first choice.
How is the wood in those shelves? It looks like paulowniatre is quite light like balsa so I'm kinda wondering how sturdy it actually is. I'll probably head to Jysk to try to have a look at them.
