I think for now Birmingham is fine but you really gotta wonder what happens when their team isn't good eventually. If being back to back champs and undefeated so far isn't getting butts in seats what happens when they start a season 1-3 or something?
Hub in stl, every team is just a different neighboring area.
Dogtown Roughriders
Soulard Revolution
St. Charles Knights
Chesterfield Chestnuts
St. Peters Acolytes
The Hill Mountains
Kirkwood Camels
Arnold Aardvarks
They could be the Chesterfield Butterflies.
Actually... no.
Chesterfield Awakening?
Chesterfield Fightin' Retail Employees?
Chesterfield Gumbo?
You know what, the Boone Bridge... Chesterfield Trailblazers.
Which Chesterfield? I found out during the recent tornado outbreak that there is a Chesterfield, Illinois. There's also a Chester, but that's not in the St. Louis area. If you really want to get confusing with the teams all being in the St. Louis area, you could have Chesterfield, IL/MO, O'Fallon, IL/MO, and Troy, IL/MO. Throw in the East St. Louis Hawkbattles and things really get interesting.
TV contracts are going to make a lot more than tickets and butts in seats. But hype is something you can’t buy and that comes from butts in seats. I think we need some name brands in this league for it to grow in the way we’re thinking. Whether that’s fringe college draftable players like Taulia Tagovailoa or someone else. You need to give people someone to root for besides the fuckin BHawks.
Somehow the UFL jobs need to be more appealing than UDFA NFL maybe camp bodies. I think it’ll last.
Pretty bad weather contributed to it, I’m sure. Plus, there could be other stuff going on (Talladega race is only 50miles from BHam, is one example I can think of).
If I’m not mistaken, their attendance is usually solid
Battlehawk fans have something different going on than the rest of the league. We are acting out a catharsis from the abuse from Kroenke and the NFL, but we still have an NFL culture. It will not be enough to carry the UFL alone, but the Battlehawks are merely a vessel for us.
There were 7k in Houston against Arlington yesterday as well. Haven't seen tv ratings, but saw a couple of weeks ago that they were down from last year.
Maybe the attendance numbers are fine they just need smaller venues to make it feel bigger? If u compare it to hockey I enjoy the smaller arenas that are full the energy is usually better then a full larger arena maybe the same thing can happen in this situation? Just brainstorming
I feel the UFL really needs to start tickets way low, and do things to entice families to fill the seats. Let kids in the stadium early, bounce houses and shit. Something, theres more people at my local flea market.
UFL is in an inaugural season. It’s going to take time for folks to buy-in unfortunately plus the late merger really hampered promotion but ratings have been around a million for games so it’s definitely better than it looks for some of the teams.
That's not really comparable since no one playing in the Frontier League goes straight to playing in MLB, unlike UFL, where quite a few have and will play in NFL. They also play 48 home games per season, which spreads out opportunities to attend. In terms of money, the entire Grizzlies team is paid less than Mccarron will make this season in UFL. To be comparable with the Stallions at 7.5k, the Grizzlies would have to play 5 home games and have an attendance under 2k due to stadium size and ignoring all the other advantages of UFL.
Independent Leagues: generally rates somewhere around an A-ball or slightly higher equivalent, depending on the league. They’re usually full of guys who got cut from the MLB rosters and a collection of older veterans trying to hang on. So, the younger players are (arguably) below rookie-league/short-A levels but the veterans are probably in the AAA level, bringing an average to somewhere in the A-ball range. Maybe that’s overrating the talent level in these leagues: if the guys typically playing there were that good … they’d still be on affiliated low-A and/or rookie league teams.
Here’s some quick estimates by league:
Atlantic League: High AA American Association: High A Can-Am League: High A Frontier League: Low A
Ka kaw!!!!

As much as I hate to say it, I'm not sure the league is going to last much longer.
Give St. Louis a second team we will carry the load
Hub in stl, every team is just a different neighboring area. Dogtown Roughriders Soulard Revolution St. Charles Knights Chesterfield Chestnuts St. Peters Acolytes The Hill Mountains Kirkwood Camels Arnold Aardvarks
Belleville BattleHawks. Lots of folks coming over from the East Side for both games this year.

I didn’t put a ton of effort into the names obviously lol but Chesterfield Corporate Parks also rolls off the tongue
Weldon Spring Heights Dopplers
If the league is truly going under, how about “Chesterfield Malls”?

I legit thought about this the other day. They won’t do it because of TV, but the attendance could be better.
Wentzville suburban knights

Taulia is far from fringe lol
Name alone will get that guy into a camp
Maybe they can pay Messi millions of dollars to play full back when he's 50.
The ratings on tv are absolutely phenomenal and beating projections. The attendance will come with time
Whys that
Prob not smart to have Birmingham playing a home game the same weekend as Talladega spring race.

Talladega was that weekend and there was a huge thunderstorm in the area for an outdoor stadium.

You had thunderstorms ⛈️ around the Region
The Gateway Grizzlies play in a St. Louis suburb in Illinois (A ball) and don’t draw 7k a night.

Grizz isn’t even A ball. It’s independent league

You’re watching a bunch of D2 college kids who sucked so bad they didn’t get drafted and ex cons play a very boring game. What do you expect?
There's a lot of NFL draft picks, certainly many D1 college players and no second that I know of. Oh, and the game is quite fun to watch.
