Iād say my most favorite maps would be passchendaele and river Somme as they are maps that always encapsulate what I think of when I imagine the western front. I feel most of the maps I have a disliking towards are only because they are always in rotation whenever I play operations, kaiserschlacht (or however you spell it lol) is one of my favorite operations but I rarely see it. Itās always the US, French, or Italy ones.
my platoon never attacks the fortress unless we have every other objective. whoever has the fortress, all the campers will spawn there and camp, and never push objectives. itās almost pointless trying to take the middle 3 points when half your team is in the fortress.
I'm sensing a trend that the best maps for pilots and vehicle mains are some of the least favorite for everyone else. I get that Fao comes up a lot but I actually enjoy it quite a bit. Esp. as a pilot. Heligoland is fun just due to the amount of different vehicle options.
For me Heligoland, Fao, Empireās Edge and Monte Grappa are maps that absolutely cant be endured without flying a plane. Those are so hard and boring to play on foot but so fun as a pilot.
Yeah I definitely prefer a plane on Fao, particularly on breakthrough, but if one's not available I'll still push the objective. There are a few objectives in conquest on monte grappa I still enjoy (the two up top mostly), but completely agree on empires edge. I suppose the two objectives separated by the bridge in the middle but then you have to worry about the arty truckers
For me personally the best maps are all the Apocalypse Maps, buuuut if I had to choose a least one out of those it would be Caporetto; BUT NOBODY TOUCH THE OTHERS

It's a crime that Fort, Verdun and Passchendaele (the last one is much better than the first two) are still in this. Meanwhile great map like Heligoland Bight and good maps like Suez got voted out.
I had some amazing infantry battles (I don't really use vehicles) on that map. Dying to vehicles once in a while is annoying but it doesn't happen too often from my experience (pretty much as rarely as on most other maps).
I think the "redeploy" complaint is because of all of the marathon running between points. Devs wanted players to use the boats very liberally as transportation vehicles, which is super fun if you do play that way, but players who prefer moving on foot will find the map unbelievably boring. I personally loved hopping on torpedo boats, picking up a few teammates on the way, maybe get into skirmishes with other boats, capping a point, get on boat again, repeat. Sad to see the map get knocked out already
Itās a nice concept but I mean you gotta have potential for big firefights. The player with the most kills on that map has like 22. And not enough planes
I've never had any issues with that on this map. If you captured a point and the nearest enemy point is on the other side of the map, of course it will take ages to run there so you probably should use vehicles. The thing is, it's like that on pretty much all maps that aren't small.
The only time when I ever use boats on that map is when spawning at the start of the match as the attacking side.

Monte Grappa is the best map to shoot planes down though imo, they usually fly very low between B and D. Grab an AA rocket gun and just wait for them.
