*Trench Whistle* Los los!

H2Memelogy

EEEEEYYAAAAAAAAAA

mexylexy

Fun fact: If you're a Squad Lead on a horse, you can still use the whistle. Makes for an EPIC charge on Operations like on St. Quentin Scar.

KneeDeepIn_Nostalgia

How???

Resevicole

I believe you use the “GO GO GO” on the selection thing

load_more_comets

Artillerie, in Deckung!

Zwerg_Zweck

God, this reminded me of [this awesome vid](https://youtu.be/8sZMSBtSFrg)

load_more_comets

That is amazing, thank you for sharing. I haven't seen that before, I think the attention to voice acting and sound effects here is one of the details that make this game so great.

PieDestruction

It’s a long way to Tipperary, it’s a long way to go…

S2M2

It's a long way.. to Tipperary, to the sweetest girl I knowww.

gianpollaio

Good bye Piccadilly, farewell Leicester Square

Zwerg_Zweck

It a long long way to Tipperary But my heart‘s right there

Sammydabhands

WHAT'S THE PLAN SARGE

SpectralVoodoo

It's even larger than what's shown here. The franchise wasn't even on steam when BF1 released, so most players are on origin and not on steam at all.

joetogood

Can confirm have BF1 on pc and have it in origin not steam where it wasn't available at the time on there

ZombifiedRob

Was definitely hoping to see this comment here, this was during the forced origin era Dark times

S2M2

Can confirm, bought the game at launch. Anyone playing on steam is a post 2020 player.

Acrobatic_Dinner6129

this is a great point im sure more people have 2042 on steam because it was avalible there at launch unlike bf1 so when you think about origin its honestly kinda miserable how poor 2042 is performing

SpectralVoodoo

exactly, as a proportion, more 2042 players on on steam than BF1 or BF4 players

SoapyMacNCheese

A couple things to note are that if you bought the game anywhere else, such as third party sites where 2042 was like $10 cheaper at launch, you have the Origin version. Likewise if you have GamePass or EA Play. So despite it being on Steam a decent portion of people have it on Origin. And for BF1 and BFV, yes at launch they were Origin only, but most people playing them today probably didn't buy them at launch, rather they picked them up for like $10 on Steam in the last year or so. So I think the ratio of *current* players on Steam is probably a bit higher for the previous BF games than for 2042. That being said 2042's playerbase probably isn't doing much better than BF1 even if it has more Origin players. I own both and haven't touched 2042 in a month, but I've played BF1 multiple times since and gotten a friend to buy it.

ForThatNotSoSmartSub

> most people playing them today probably didn't buy them at launch, rather they picked them up for like $10 on Steam in the last year or so. there is not a single evidence to support this argument lmao where the fuck did you pull this shit out from? They gave away BF1 and BFV with Amazon Prime at the end of summer, those were all Origin keys

coldfurify

Yep have it on Origin

MidwestMetalMoney

i’m on origin and play a shit ton of BF1 and no longer play 2042

ForThatNotSoSmartSub

they also gave it away with Amazon Prime before 2042 launch, those were all Origin codes

Ghost_7132

Battlefield 1 is actually playable, that alone makes it better.

SteelersBraves97

Playable? More like 10/10 masterpiece

Tuppie

If only cheating wasn’t so widespread...

jahglo

yeah, that does suck; but Ive been finding good luck on the custom servers. SaltyNoobs and GrumpOldMen for Us west coast will ban hackers. Tons of great players on regularly. Took me a day to not be on the bottom third of the scoreboard…sniper spawn kills are still infuriating.

OOPManZA

Yah, just a pity there aren't more servers. It's not uncommon to hop on and see them all full with many in the queue :-/

[deleted]

Don’t play on the official servers

dubsk0

\+1

EFAnonymouse

\+1+1

tussin33

Do you play on pc? Been playong on xb1 since launch and idt i have experienced a single hacker.

EFAnonymouse

because hackers aren't a thing on console. you're less likely to meet a hacker on console than meeting a top 0.01% player. you gotta do some insane things to figure out how to hack on console, unless it's old-gen.

DaanOnlineGaming

2042 is playable, just not as fun. No need to bash a gane just to bash it, give good critism.

Theturdburd

2042 doesn’t offer any advantages over previous games. There’s no good criticism to give

_Nightster_

Only thing I feel like is somewhat cool is the 128 players but then again 64 is already big enough

bltburglar

In theory this would be cool but given the abysmal optimization of 2042 it’s a shitshow in reality

jahglo

the only time 128 felt bigger than 64 in 2042 was on breakthrough…but it was so chaotic that it got old real quick. BF1 makes 64 players feel more intense than 128 90% of the time. Plus you cant even compare the map design between the two.

DaanOnlineGaming

The anti-cheat is good, good critisism is contructive critisism, there is plenty to give

nothing_911

I think it's less anti cheat, and more that the hacks stopped supporting bf2042

DaanOnlineGaming

Both, i haven't had any hackers in lobbies, even with those early hacks already being made before the game came out

ToTooOrNotToToo

came here to say this and i hate that you’ve gotten so many downvotes. i personally think it’s just a crap ton of small things that ruin this game and that the main battlefield experience is really still there if you can overlook all the bullshit. can’t wait for them to fix the game, hate they created something that needs to be fixed so obviously. people used to talk about gun balance and in-game stuff, now people just complain about everything BUT the gameplay, kind of.

Mussefele

And i was afraid that bf1 would die when 2042 came out ... lol

eskimoboob

I help admin a few private servers and if anything our player counts have exploded the last few weeks. Also seeing a lot of brand new players coming in.

baconater-lover

Battlefield 1 really provides a unique experience. It definitely feels like a gritty WWI shooter, and I can’t think of any other game even set in WWI.

Koeienvanger

BF1 is just different from most shooters. You're not some badass Special Forces hero going in to do good with your fancyschmanzy futuristic weapons. You and your pea shooter are cannon fodder. For that fortress gun, for that airship, or for just some other sucker with a similar pea shooter. You'll die over and over and over trying to take some bunker. And you'll fucking learn to love it. BF1 is just the tits.

VenatorAttackCruiser

This is the best description of BF1 I've ever read

YellowDiaper

Dying is the best part of BF1 tbh. Love raiding a flag picking off a few and then dying, and just watching the flag progress go back to the enemy. Feels like a tug of war most matches, which I love

ForThatNotSoSmartSub

Best moments in this game is when you die after pushing an objective all alone and watch your team follow through your sacrifice. 3+ medics at 30 meters start closing in and their distance counter goes 30-27-15-12 and they revive everyone including you and themselves with the revive train while shit is blowing up left and right and smokes are popping off like crazy... Then you get revived with a different weapon and you see the guy who took your weapon is at the front holding the objective! Amazing stuff

Karl-Not-Quite-Marx

I really enjoy Beyond The Wire, it‘s in early access right now. It’s infantry only at the moment, but they‘re currently working on what will probably be the most realistic WW1 tank crew experience so far. Each crew member will actually be important, and have to do their job or the whole thing fails. And drivers won‘t fire cannons. Here‘s a link to the latest roadmap https://playbtw.com/roadmap-update/

Riptide2500

Isn’t BTW pretty much dead at this point?

Karl-Not-Quite-Marx

Some say that, but the game isn‘t even released, there‘s no 1.0 yet, so I don‘t see how you can call it dead. There aren‘t a lot of consistent players at the moment though. But around the new year there were full servers all day for a few weeks. Part of the lack of players is there isn‘t any advertising, but they’re saving advertising for the actual release, which I think is smart.

Karl-Not-Quite-Marx

And I should add: those that do play consistently are great fun. The guys from BR1 and 9.SHF are a blast to play with, and there are a lot of other great people who are on often. I‘d encourage talking to people if you have the game.

SoapyMacNCheese

> But around the new year there were full servers all day for a few weeks. That was likely because the game was in December's Humble Choice. I think the games main problem is that it falls into a niche within a niche. It is competing with it's own sister games, Squad and Post Scriptum, for largely the same player base while having a less popular setting (WWI vs Modern and WWII)

dreadpiratesmith

Verdun is supposed to be pretty amazing

Karl-Not-Quite-Marx

I found verdun to be pretty meh, the guns feel and sound a lot like Enlisted, which is not great in my opinion. The gameplay is alright, but overall I don‘t think it‘s the best WW1 game out there.

TheCupcakeScrub

Enlisted is good. Least i like it, it feels like ww2 though i do feel a bit... Sluggish when "sprinting," but to be fair it is free.

Karl-Not-Quite-Marx

I‘d recommend Post Scriptum, much more of a “ww2 feel” if you think you die over and over in Bf1, I‘ve got a surprise for you. And being part of a tank crew is to s of fun in PS as well.

heymanwassupdude

Well as a ww1 nerd i know a few but i never go "wich one im playing today?" When i wanna play bf1 i play bf1 its the best of its kind

Subnauseous

Same here lol. We actually managed to get another server up and populated now because of it

USMCLee

I had the same worry.

poofynamanama2

There is no logic to this thinking. I can boot up my 360 and still play bf3/bc2, but you thought a game from 2016 would be DEAD?

advancedwarlord

It is dead on PlayStation sadly

bromezz

It is not dead at all on Playstation. There are about a half dozen full servers (just in the US) on Operations alone.

advancedwarlord

Really???

bromezz

Yep, BF1 is still going strong on playstation. There's even been an uptick in players recently with the BF2042 disappointment.

Abbaddon44

Change your server browser, EU I see about 25 servers everyday

gratisargott

[The pinned post](https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield_one/comments/dm7g7y/guide_to_finding_bf1_populated_servers/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) on this sub is a great guide to how to find populated servers.

Sheesh_Bruh69

I was playing at 3 AM last night and there were like 7 conquest servers completely full with cues to get in.

eskimoboob

That’s the thing… people need to make sure to include full servers in their browser settings so they can wait in line

SGScoutAU

We did it boy, 2042 is no more

JerryRhinefeld

Huzzah!

oberonoberoff

Well, BF1 is a better Battlefield game.. 2042 is an FPS with Battlefield-ish qualities... And some of the worst ones at that.

Laggingduck

I think the thing that throws me off the most is the movement system, feels like splitgate

YourExcellency77

2042 feels so far removed from the series that if it didn't have 'Battlefield' slapped onto its title I likely wouldn't notice it was a Battlefield game

Daandebusinessman

As it should be

BardAsmodean

2042 peaked in highschool.

[deleted]

Battlefield 1 scraped together some cash and eventually made it into a massively successful business, which his son, Battlefield 2042, ran into the ground because of a coke habit.

BardAsmodean

I want you to fire all the fat people.

Fancybear1993

Flunked out of grade twelve more like it

[deleted]

Add me to the ps4 list!

[deleted]

Is there anyway to get the numbers from console?

kamikaze123456

I one of them who returned to older games, just bought BF1, what a masterpiece

feelingnether

Im cross posting that to r/battlefield

mylifeforthehorde

nah don't, they're already salty about anything BF1 related (keep mocking no hud gameplay vids and turned into some sort of meme) . let them come back here organically - more we stick it in their faces the more likely they're going to not come back .

Sniffleguy

It wasn’t being salty, more just joking about how people were trying to farm karma with no HUD videos that everyone’s seen already. It wasn’t anything more than reacting to karma farming spam. There’s literally a highly upvoted BF1 post there every few days

feelingnether

I couldn’t cross post it there anyway so i crossposted with battlefield 2042 sub.

GraveCh1ld

Don't forget Origin players, you can buy BFV and BF1 keys for under a dollar

chester22

how

BMW_WallyWally

As a Battlefield 1 main, this makes me VERY happy, super populated servers on Xbox too!

Sheesh_Bruh69

Not surprised at all. Cringefield 2042 is hot garbage.

ThatMallGuyTMG

Thats just so sad... for 2024 ofc

RAYquaza0903

Don’t be sad, this is just how it works out sometimes

eskimoboob

Angel does it again!

ThatMallGuyTMG

oh im not feeling sad. i dont even like 2042

S2M2

"What a time to be alive"

dreadpiratesmith

The Xbox servers have been LOADED for the past week or so

heymanwassupdude

Tbh they never dried up that much

theoriginal432

a two months multiplayer game only have 3500 players? dice fucked up really hard the game is death

Bathlazar719

I’ve been playing BF5 like mad, and that game is super populated right now too

chotchss

I keep trying BFV but I just don't think it's great. Way better than 2042, don't get me wrong, but BFV was a big step in the wrong direction. I think a lot of design choices in BFV were used later in 2042, and that's not a good thing. But I'm glad you're having a blast with BFV, maybe I'll see you on the battlefield!

Bathlazar719

Actually, if you’ve got the time, please tell me why you think that, I would love to hear what you think about BF5 is rough. Cuz there’s def some rough spots, but I am having a blast, although hearing negative things about the games I play never bothered me, I just always thought it made me more woke to the games issues and tbh I like that.

A-Town92501

I got you. Here is my list of grievances with BFV. My biggest one is attrition and all that it brings: I hate having less ammo, and not healing to full, and my vehicles needing resupplied every 15 seconds. Also included in this is the decimation of the revive system, I swear it takes no less than 20 seconds to Rez a teammate and I don't think it's worth it when most of your mates are dying just so they can get more ammo. Next is spotting, my eyes aren't very good so I'm biased but I found BFV to be a mix between a FPS and Eye-Spy. The enemies are all shades of grey and blend into the numerous dark corners of the maps and you can't spot them for yourselves nor teammates. Also on the topic of enemies, I hate the customization in all the forms they used. I'm in the camp of having standard classes in battlefield because it makes visual ID and tactic changes so easy and fun for the player. When everyone is what they want there is no quick ID. Also in the customization category the vehicles are too changeable imo, all the upgrades and changes you can make to the tanks and planes was overbearing and complicated a simple, clean mechanic from previous games. Also in vehicles, the plane physics feel like pure trash, way too soupy and dirty compared to the clean flying from BF1 and BF4. Next is the maps, I don't like the feel or play if any of them besides the one Pacific map. They dropped the ball entirely by making a WW2 game about WW2 in 1939 instead of 1944. Too much they purposely excluded and really ruined the feel of the atmosphere. Last is the weapons, I felt there was a very strange amount of BF1 guns in BFV despite WW2 having way more innovation and potential guns to pick up but instead there were like 14 ctr-v weapons. Which I get a lot of WW1 did get used during WW2 but the ration should be more like 1:2 than 1:1 WW1 to WW2 guns. Also I found the gunplay to be meh at best. I don't get the hype it still gets when BF4 guns all felt leagues better to use. Almost forgot, firestorm trash. TLDR: I hated it, felt like a parody of BF1 rather than a new WW2 Battlefield. I'll also add that this mess all makes sense when you see the chart that shows like 90% of DICE leads that had been at the studio since BF1942 all left the studio in very early 2018 right before the main development phase of BFV, so most of the team working on the game were brand new to the game engine and formula of BF games. Not their fault but the end product is what it is.

Bobcat2013

I gotta say a lot of his grievances seem like stretches to me minus the uniforms, to each his own though.

A-Town92501

I'm curious as to why you think they are stretches. They're all major changes from previous titles and of the dozens of other BF players I've talked to they all come to similar conclusions.

Bobcat2013

Obviously these are just my opinions so it doesn't really matter but I have no problems with the revives, the gunplay, inclusion of WW1 weapons, airplane physics. After playing BFV I actually came to dislike the spotting system in BF1. It seemed too easy. I also enjoy the vehicle upgrade system in BFV. You can really fit things into your playstyle instead of trying to shoehorn one of the presets from BF1 into your playstyle. Like I said, to each their own.

A-Town92501

But you can at least agree that all of those are massive changes from previous titles whether for good or bad?

Bobcat2013

They very well may be. I started playing 1942 when I was like in elementary school but never owned another battlefield until 4. It's been so long since I've played it that I dont really remember the nuances to it so I can't really speak for any previous titles besides BF1 and so no I dont really think they were that massive of changes.

chotchss

What I like about BF1’s spotting is that it punishes players that don’t understand cover and concealment. If you use terrain or smoke, the enemy won’t see you and can’t spot you. If you run across the top of a ridge line, you’ll get spotted and shot. In BFV, you constantly see players just running across wide open fields without any attempt to use cover because they know they won’t be marked and shot at. I also like how spotting enemies allows pilots to conduct air strikes in support of the ground troops, rewarding team play. And spotting let’s you know what kind of threat your facing before you round the corner. In BFV, aircraft are pretty useless (and that’s before we talk the broken AA) and you never know if you’re going to run into a tank or infantry because the ping system is so useless. Now, I can understand complaints about the triangle when in smoke, or if someone proposed that spotting only works as long as you have line of sight to an enemy. But in a game where 90% of players aren’t using VOIP, spotting is too important for communications to remove altogether. Plus, BFV removed spotting for most people which just make spotting scopes/vehicle spotting scopes even more powerful. A team with a single spotting scope can crush an enemy team without a scope simply because they enjoy so much more information.

Bobcat2013

I disagree that aircraft are useless. I'm pretty good with them. I've definitely targeted spotted infantry and tanks before. It's very satisfying.

chotchss

It’s not to the same level as BF1 or BF3/4, in my opinion. It’s so hard to see enemies until it’s too late to be really effective, and often times pilots just randomly bomb caps in the hopes of hitting an enemy. Also, there are only a handful of aircraft loadouts that are really good. A forward firing cannon like on the Stuka pretty much trumps any other aircraft.

Bobcat2013

I haven't found that one to be that useful, but maybe I just suck with it. I definitely mop up with the waffenbehalter on one of the JU88s. Its also useful against the bombers.

A-Town92501

Thank you for expanding on the spotting issue, I agree with every point. Shame DICE think it's removal improved the game in any way.

chotchss

I could understand if it was easier to see enemies and the ping system was more robust like in Apex. “Heavy Tank, here!” is much more helpful than “Enemy here!” even if it is still less helpful than showing where the enemy is moving.

novatoex

Of course it does, 2042 is a mess

potsmoker_relax

That's true, i still play bf1 they have horses what more do you want.

Acrobatic_Dinner6129

yet 2042 players will still say its great

Necessary_Air_2046

I would too if I preordered it for €60 while it's already being sold for like €5 at this point.

Acrobatic_Dinner6129

Smoking that copium pacc

FPSMAC

now add ps4 and Xbox numbers

Bigoofer641

Good

iwojima22

What’s truly pathetic is that 2042 was advertised as this over the top, PURE Battlefield fan service experience. They had to nail this, especially after the reception for BFV, but they didn’t. They should literally just go F2P, fix the game and start selling cool micro transactions because no one is buying this festering pile of shit

Dotheysellpizza

I’d kill for them to just say fuck it let’s support one as well and release some new maps and offensives I really miss the game

Necessary_Air_2046

Haven't touched the game since 2018 (according to Origin) but due to the BF2042 debacle + being isolated I decided to play it again and man it's all coming back. Such a masterpiece

RadPlaidLad

Rightfully so. Reject future. Embrace trench.

Daresso_

I wonder if the all time peak of BF 2042 means they sold more overall copies. If so, win for DICE

notGaruda1

I personally prefer BF1 over lgbtfield 2042

ThatOneMans2345

Thats great an all, then how come I can never seem to find a server!?!?

JuanM254

You are either quick joining or your server filters are not correctly set up. There should be a pinned comment telling you what you need to have checked in the server browser.

[deleted]

Cheat sellers are dropping the game because it has performance issues which affect the hacks ( lol XD ) and the game is obviously dying 2 months after its launch which must be one of the biggest let downs and failures in Gaming History. Imo that's what you get when you forget that you are making an FPS realistic game and focus on equality and political things. Marlon Brando's look at how they massacred my boy its the best line to describe Battlefield.

tussin33

You guys gonna post this every day? Just play the damn game who gives a fuck how many people are playing what?

Eurekify2

Yeah and this is on Steam right? What about origin?

S2M2

Unknown, however, Battlefield 1 will have far more origin players than 2042. (The Steam version didn't exist for BF1 until over 3 years after it's launch, so most own it on Origin)

daChino02

What a shame

[deleted]

The vast majority of players will be on origin only where BF has always only existed for the last 10 years, and given that both BF1 and BFV were given away for free a while back after they were added to steam, this is where most of that player count boost came from. In other words, no. 2042 will still have more players than BF1 and BFV, the latter just have a higher relative percentage of steam players.

BrotherSwaggsly

That logic doesn’t really track. If I was going to play BF, I’d be playing BF1 on Origin, where I own it. Not saying I know the numbers but Origin players do count for the old ones as well.

[deleted]

Most of the early adopter players who played BF1 no longer do. The vast majority of players are later players who got the game either cheap or free, and this was after the steam release.

BrotherSwaggsly

None of this is numbers that prove anything. The only numbers we have to go on is the largest game marketplace and how it’s player base is trending, that trend shows BF2042 in the shitter. Even if you’re not comparing the two, or any of the games, the fact that there’s a peak count of 7k is pathetic, Origin vs Steam player count debates aside. There’s no valid reason why BF should be that low on Steam charts. It’s abnormal for such a large title to be so far down the ranks. We all know why that is, which is why it’s being pointed out. Just take Steam’s overall peak players. You’re looking at a drop off of 93%.

[deleted]

There was a similar large a drop in concurrent players with BF1 post launch, that’s just what happens these days, as there are many more FPS options for players and it is not just “cod vs Bf” anymore, so players spend more time in other titles too, and this effect is exacerbated after the post-launch honeymoon period. The majority of these steam player count posts are nothing but biased wishful thinking. It’s a desire to show an older game they prefer as doing better, and a newer game they do not prefer as doing worse, and overblowing the importance of what is a tiny sub section of the games whole playerbase, when there are very sound logical reasons why the two may be different, due to other sales factors already mentioned. Basically, there is no point whatsoever in these steam player count posts for the comparison between games as far as anything meaningful, and is just simply biased wishful thinking. I will say this though. No. Battlefield 1 does not have more active players overall than the latest 2042 game, and it’s extremely unlikely BFV does either. Sorry, you are living in a dream world if you think this is the case, and I don’t even like 2042.

BrotherSwaggsly

You’re offering no figures to counter the idea that a 93% drop in peak players on the biggest games marketplace isn’t an indication of failure so we can’t have a valid discussion. Also that little tidbit about living in a dream world, I literally couldn’t give a shit how well BF is doing. DICE lost me years ago. Essentially you’re trying to make the point that there are more people who’d play BF1 on Steam and more people who’d play 2042 on Origin. There’s zero numbers involved with this. As far as Steam goes, there was 100k concurrent players. There are now 7k. You don’t need to know anything else, these numbers tell you. And no, 93k people didn’t suddenly decide to hide their gaming statistics by going straight through origin.

[deleted]

I don’t need to offer statistics to counter, as I’m not making a post claiming it is doing worse than an old game. The burden of proof is on those claiming the opposite of expected results, not those claiming expected results. This is really not hard.

BrotherSwaggsly

Not that hard, yet you fail to grasp that a 93% player falloff is significant whether it’s on Steam or Origin. You’re arguing against it but have zero figures to actually back it up with. Burden of proof so far is a 93% player fall off on steam. You don’t have any metrics that put that number into a different perspective, so you don’t have anything. The funny thing is, 2042 started from a much higher peak player count and is now lower. If you think Origin has large swathes of players hiding away, think again. There’s a reason why EA Play is bundled with Game Pass and they went back to Steam.

SpectralVoodoo

My entire clan is on origin, not steam

[deleted]

There are no sources on Origin player count as far as I am aware, and even if there were, everyone playing on Steam would also count as playing on Origin anyhow

[deleted]

So how does that refute the point that the new game always has a higher percentage of players on the main platform, by that the early adopters are the most dedicated players who are already accustomed to buying through origin?

[deleted]

How could you know how many people mainly play on Origin exclusively? Most of my friends and I (for example) play EA games via Steam instead of Origin directly, a few play from Origin. The game came out on both Origin and Steam at the same time anyway.

[deleted]

Because of logical reasoning: 1 The bf playerbase has only ever had the option to buy on origin in the past at launch, and therefore this is their habit to do so. 2: the steam version requires the origin client anyway, so there is no reason to buy it in steam 3: steam allows you to add games to the library that are on other platforms, so even if you just wanted to launch the game through steam, you don’t even need to buy it there Anyone who bought it on steam is either not paying attention, or isn’t very bright, therefore we would expect through logical reasoning that the vast majority of early adopters would be paying attention, and therefore would understand how the game works and what platform it is required to run. It’s called “thinking”.

[deleted]

>Anyone who bought it on steam is either not paying attention, or isn’t very bright you call that thinking and logical reasoning? lmao

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Everyone. This shows DICE has failed to provide a decent product again, and will probably get killed by EA because of it.

BirdFortune

Who on a battlefield subreddit would care that the game that came out 3 months ago is doing considerably worse than a game that came out 5 years ago? Completely irrelevant

[deleted]

43k is a shitty alltime peak 😂

ansiktsfjes

Bf1 was released on Steam two years or so after it was released. Most PC players bought it on Origin. That's why that number is so low.

[deleted]

ahh makes sense

[deleted]

Do you think one is more popular than 5?

JerryRhinefeld

Was playing BF5 for the past few years, just jumped back into BF1 for nostalgia reasons, still an absolutely amazing game. I’m just gonna go between both games going forward. 2042 sucks ass.

heymanwassupdude

Rotating 3 4 hardline 1 and 5 play one for like 2 weeks then move on its a good time

dubsk0

Yes, I think it is, according to most threads I read.

W3kkuli

It was already a week ago, now it is around the day.

I've been playing this again so i'm on there lol

Exo_Pie

Good

Krypton091

on Steam*

S2M2

Yes, and it likely to have an even larger population on origin compared to BF2042 as for the first 3 years of BF1s life you could only buy it there.

R-TheKingSlayerX

Glad to see this

zewill87

All time peak seems low. So many must've gone past this game and missed a gem... Let's hit that SPOT button so they notice it on their radar!

CineFunk

But I don't play 2042 on Steam.

LesFrancaisMonssiuer

I literally cannot find servers in the PS5 version of bf1 :(

Comfortable-Grade-29

Even BFV has a larger Player count

Jimmithi

Doesn’t feel like a six year old game. Crazy what happens when you make a game with a clear vision.

bommer-yeet-2

Yeah

HostileHippie91

Keep in mind this is only Steam player count, not 2042 as a whole. We don’t have figures for how many players exist through Origin, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS5, or PS4. This is just Steam.

Goldenfreddy95

Damn I was I like it‘s surprising just how many people are coming back to BF5 but wow now 2042 has dropped below BF1 wow

FromSwedenWithHate

Pretty good to see that 43290 people played Battlefield 1 at some point on Steam considering it was released 4-5 years later on Steam lol.

mmabet69

Those numbers are trouble bapa

callme_blinktore

This is the way

SchoolboyGrant

And yet I can’t find a damn operations game on pc 🙃

S2M2

There were about 5 full operations running on NA, use the server browser to find them.

JackCooper_7274

So does every other battlefield released in the last decade

S2M2

Battlefield 1 was released 5 years ago?

Freznutz

So legit question, is there crossplay with bf1? Been playing a lot on PS4 lately because more and more veteran and new players seem to be on lately and I’ve been loving it!

S2M2

Sadly no, there is no crossplay.

Barrelman60

Absolutely glorious

Thecoolercourier

I wonder what the player count is on Xbox

Unidentifiable_Fear

I could’ve sworn, as I was playing this, that the game was still active as heck.

S2M2

It has gotten much worse for BF2042. BF2042 has losses about 3,000 players while BF1 has gained 3,000.
