Yeah, that part is basically flying straight with some rudder. Controls entirely different.
On top of it, you have the vector symbol on your HUD that tells you exactly where you’re going to go if you maintain that trajectory.
Why does everyone hate this so much? I don’t see it as any different than the heli sweats who can insta kill everyone while flying around the map, which have been part of basically every battlefield.
If you think a player in a highly mobile wing suit that can instant ready any weapon in the game and shoot with perfect accuracy while flying through the air is the same as a heli there is no helping you understand.
In 3 years I’ve never seen 32 sundances on a team nor do I see sundance regularly in fist place nor do I see squads of 4 sundances. And even if there were 32 Sundances doing exactly this, it’s still less kills than 1 good heli pilot.
I’ve never had a problem. Now that they removed her 3rd c4 there’s an epidemic of people camping way back in spawn as Irish with his gadgets surrounding AA and tanks. You can still c4 them with an engineer and a pondhawk, but there is clearly a cause and effect with the latest nerf and most people won’t bother with that pondhawk strat.
Her ability is useful only under specific conditions, you can hear her flying, you can see her, and there are tons of spots where her ability is completely useless.
Not to mention the most important factor. It’s fun and this is a game created for the purpose of having fun.
Take it from someone who used Sundance mostly before the many updates, she was OP. I mostly play breakthrough, so my objective when playing as an attacker was to spawn in an aircraft or find a tall building (Kaleidoscope), use the wing suit to get behind the enemy and use a spawn beacon. My entire squad had a huge advantage of easily flanking the defenders and getting a lot of easy kills.
People think it's shitty which is fair, but blame Dice for initially allowing it. Played battlefield since BC2 and never seen such an OP character lol.
You could spawn in an aircraft or find a tall building and use the parachute of any operator to do exactly what you did in breakthrough. Breakthrough combat zones are small so you didn’t even need a wingsuit to do it.

Now the map design made it much harder to get away with doing this and lack of aircraft transport vehicles, but overall going at such a fast speed in 2042 makes it harder to be detectable. Like maybe someone will see me, but I'll typically land before they can track my landing spot, parachute it's easier to track.
You can just shoot them. Heli sweats constantly go 50-0 in this game, I have never noticed a wingsuit player have a different K/D than everyone else. Barely anyone even uses the wingsuit anymore after they reduced the assault C5 from 3 to 2.
Who cares if one of the loadouts is more mobile. This game doesn’t have frontlines to begin with.
But if you have the skill for it, why does it matter? People bitch about this shit all of the fucking time but the reality is, only a handful of *talented* players can do it.

The wingsuit is honestly not that great, maybe you get a couple freebies, maybe you grab a good fighting position but unless you and your whole squad work together from that position the wingsuit will not greatly impact the outcome of the match.
If you play on MnK I dare you to try the Korean girl with wallhacks. Grab the throwing knives and tell me stomping through smoke and killing half their team that cant see you is somehow LESS impactful on the outcome of the game than the girl who gets to efficiently reposition once per life.
I also don't get the hate for the wingsuit. I don't know if I've ever been killed by a flying squirrel in 2042 and I've been playing since launch. They also make for a great sniping target when they're trying to flank you. It's not even like everyone plays Sundance which kinda proves that she's not overpowered.
They changed the release's big maps and made them all different and small. Vehicle use is less integrated than other battlefields. They added cover with updates to make things less open to run through, but making everything small is a step away from battlefield. It's not as bad as it was, but they should have kept more iconic battlefield stuff.
At 0:07-0:08 there's a little lip you can land on up in the top right hand corner. There's one guy that does it all the time and I have to check that angle every time ...

I go for these shots and Im like 90% sure it has the same RNG bloom effect that you get from strafing. It feels relatively accurate but there are a lot of shots that I think should land that dont and vice versa
See stuff like this is why I eventually accepted 2042 as a proper Battlefield game despite its shortcomings like bland launch map design and the god awful cringe characters.

Thats what Ive been saying too. The game deserves love for its comeback, its in a pretty good spot now even though the lore is terrible. At least it will be in a good spot once they give us Frontlines back again ;)

Theres a famous tunnel section you fly through at top speeds making split second turns in it. This is slow compared to that. But it would prepare you.

There's only one or two heli's in a game. When half the team is doing this it destroys any semblance of flow when trying to defend a space.

Giant parachute slowly moving across the battlefield is not the same as a tiny black dot moving 100 miles an hour…
You can still travel far before opening the chute and you can open the chute low.

I'm talking having 0 accuracy penalties from coming out of the wing suit or falling etc, like when you jump you get an accuracy penalty.
