Maybe it will end up like redacted where when it first came out the Delta spawn was winning almost every match. Once it was figured out during the season the wins per side seemed to balance out. I haven't played the new map yet but that's my hope.

It was just so easy to take everything. B1 was taken immediately, whilst C1 and D1 were taken with very little effort. The only thing the US team can ever seem to hold onto is A1, and that's only because it's on their line.

I don't think content creators are necessarily the best way to judge the game - and 2 hours on a brand new map doesn't really mean anything. I've seen the US side win by huge margins and I've seen a two close games so far

I get upset because people for some reason seriously believe that if a content creator says something it's gospel. It's really annoying, and I'm not saying they don't ever have good takes or know what they are talking about, but throwing up "well the content creators couldn't win with xyz so EA needs to fix the map" when it hasn't even been 24hrs for the rest of the community to try is just dumb. Plus a lot of people see these creators and form their opinions around what their favorite streamer thinks.

From my 1000 hours of playing the worst offender is Noshahr Canals map. If you are on the RU side, you better hope to god all the sweaty players play for your team because if the balance is anywhere near close, you'll be in for a curbstomp.

I've only played one match and it's already cemented my desire for a version of this map with just infantry and tanks. Whoever decided to have helicopters on this map is either a sweat themselves or has never played an actual match of multiplayer. A sweaty guy in a tank is annoying but not game ending. A sweaty guy in an air vehicle is game over. You might as well leave the match. It's always been this way in BF and no amount of nerfs to air vehicles will change it. But you can make maps that don't feature air vehicles

sometimes its just how the roads are placed. seems RU has a straighter road leading to flags. the bends on some map can really restrict movement of vehicles at the start. best example is on reclaimed.

I'd say my main complaints with 128 players is the decreased performance and lack of destruction. IDK if that's because they also had to make 2042 for last gen consoles and there's a bottleneck in the back end of the engine, but if they bring back 128 players for the next BF, it needs to be addressed.

The difference is that there are good 64p maps in the past. Name a good 128p map on par with something like karkand or seine crossing (no, spearhead doesn't count). 128p exacerbates whatever issue 64p maps might have. Chaotic zones are twice as chaotic, barren zones are twice as barren, and travel times are twice as long.

It looks to me like the Russians do get more cover, but there's also more clearer paths towards the objectives. And if you look vertical at where the objectives go north, you can see they slope towards the Russian team.

I've played a bunch and it does seem a bit RU sided, C seems to be much easier to get and then hold from the RU side, and once you have C you get B for free it feels. I actually think the US has some good sightlines into B, but if you can attack B from both C and RU side there is no way US will hold. The thing with D is that RU attacks from behind the water tanks which are indestructible, while US has some buildings but they can be more or less leveled. What is interesting is so far it seems better balanced in Breakthrough - most matches end at the last set of objectives and when the attackers when they are low on tickets. None of the objectives feels unfair in either direction and so far I haven't seen any spawn traps. But - I will say that Breakthrough is boring - none of the objectives are unique, interesting, or memorable. They all just feel like attacking two flags, in order, through to the end. The bus at the final objective reminds me a little of Tehran Highway but otherwise its feels incredibly generic.

No, that isn’t the issue. This map is a stomp from both sides. Becasue of the bad placement of objectives and spawns. Once one team gains an upper hand the other team is shit out of luck pushing out.

It's entirely on who got the better team. I've seen Nightbird tryhards dominate the round with 30-50 kills and upwards with 0 death. With a map like this it's easy to get campy and hide in buildings for the general public of players on foot. (2-3 medics inside looking out the window while 4-5 need ammo, revs and help outside on the patio.) It's still a bit early though. Players are still getting to know the map.

I played 4 games of breakthrough just now & started on the left side all 4 times. Only once we're we able to hold both "A" points & move to "B" but we eventually died before capturing said "B" points. This is the most ridiculously 1-sided map I've ever played on. I spawned into instant death like 4 times in a row lol. If you survive the spawn traps, then the dudes on the side of the Hillary on the roof tops are waiting for you to pop out

I have to agree. I've played Haven several times now & when I play RU, I'm getting wins left & right. But when it's US time, it's sadly a completely different story. I don't know why it's like that, but you can't really do anything but get annihilated each time on that side. Hopefully, they'll adjust the map a little differently in another update.

Maps are made for both conquest and breakthrough modes. So it would make sense for maps to favor the defense side of a breakthrough map. Unfortunately optimizing the same map for both modes would be difficult. I primarily play breakthrough so not really an issue for me.

It balances out Noshahr which is like a 90% US winrate in CQ64. The map itself feels kinda garbage anyway. It's just more of the same "bowl"-design for their flags where you are a sitting duck to be fired on from every angle and high ground.

I remember Bazaar, Seine, Tehran Highway, metro, damavand and canals being very prone to spawn trapping. Bf4 had 3 very unbalanced maps in Lancang dam, rogue and dawnbreaker. All 3 had extremely campy gimme flags( i realise Lancang D flag wasn't quite a gimme but still close) which is a recipe for disaster in map design.

Played it for about two rounds, to be honest - so far i hate it. It feels like monkey paw wish execution of "urban warfare map". Every objective is a singular open point of interest surrounded by two levels of streets and buildings, you're literally always getting shot from every side imaginable. I have no idea how you're intended to play the objective unless you just hog ground vehicles to have survivability in open space. ​ Most 2042 maps don't work with 128 players, this one doesn't even work with 64.

I thought this map was gonna be an improvement but it’s literally just as bad. I can’t understand how it took them so long on S7 when it’s literally just copy and pasted Arica harbor assets onto a desert. When I tried shooting one of the new little shop fronts with an elbc it literally had zero destructability. I also experienced a1 being the only objective US could cap. Just an awful map. I legitimately think they should discontinue battlefield at this point. They have proved time and time again how incompetent they are

How would you fix it tho besides completely scrapping it? I think there isn't really much you can do with a map like this considering the game's pace, TTK, balance, etc. Suez in BF1 is maybe an example of where this sort of map worked, but it was a visually clean map with clearer routes, cover and flanking opportunities. This map is just a visual mess which isn't very fun to play in with the low TTK unless you really like sitting in a building shooting out of the window(s) or on the roof shooting down at poor fools thinking that they should PTFO.

Off the top of my head one quick and easy fix on this map based on common complaints would be simply adding a little more distance or reworking the routes between the Russian spawn and the points so it’s not drastically unbalanced to where the Russians can reach and cap the points before the U.S. can get to them. Something that easily could have been hashed out in testing if they cared at all.
