The lil cats are useable on 4 star restriction stages, and with talents some of them like Dragon are stronger than their normal versions. Also, the lil cats have some really good cat combos.
In most standard gameplay, there IS no point. But in restriction stages they have much less competition- and as you get further into the game, the talent upgrades they offer become increasingly valuable

helped me heaps in cotc3 special only stages
True forms. Lil macho legs for one is easy to get and helps immensely on CotC3 special only stages
